The province is rich in natural resources, the major tourist destinations in the province. She also has a long history which is dated back to the 4th century
and memorials from World War II. As the home of 7 national parks, the province covers vast areas of dense forests with several beautiful waterfalls, caves,
hot springs and many species of wildlife.
Other than the full moon party, there are a number of attractions on Koh Phangan, not least of which are dozens of spectacular beaches and bays.
The snorkeling and diving around Koh Phangan are both quite good so there are numerous underwater attractions, and the interior of the island
features many beautiful waterfalls.
It houses the holy relics of Lord Buddha. Wat Mahathat was a grand temple, likes Wat Ratchaburana. It is the royal temple during glorious time.
The main stupa crumbled late in the reign of king Rama V, in 1903. Buddha relics were enshrined in the Mahathat Chedi (the principal pagoda).
