Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo
About The Zoo
Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, the largest safari in the northeastern region, covers 545 rai.
It was established as a unit of the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand under the
royal patronage of His Majesty the King.
The zoo is the home to many wild animals such as tigers, giraffes, lions, elephants, zebras,
rhinoceros, hedgehogs, Lesser Adjutants, ostriches, flamingos and many more.
It's grounds also plays host to a small park for the visitors' leisure enjoyment with nature.
Visitors can take guided tours of this wonderful zoo by several means, including the safe and
comfortable mini-train, riding bicycles, on foot along the shady walk ways.
The latest attraction is the Day-Night Zoo, the first of its kind in the Korat. Plus attractions for everyone,
such as the Children Zoo, Dino Park, Plaza, Penguin and Seal exhibition, water cycle.

The stars of the zoo are the Big Five of Africa, African elephants, lions, white rhinoceroses,
African buffaloes and leopards - panther. Dinosaur park in the area covering 4 rai with Jurassic
landscape will thrill and educate you at the same time. Witness the lives barking deer, deer and
hog deer when they come out to look for food from dusk till dawn.
Water Park (Korat Zoo Lagoon)
Public Relation Center
The 2-storey Thai style building. The downstairs building shows the exhibition about various types of
important animals for the youth's study. The exhibition is arranged in Dura tan and simulated model of the
Ancient Creature Building
Covering the area more than 4 rais. It is decorated and designed in order to be similar to the ancient areas.
There are more than 20 species of Dinosaur’s models in the building. You can meet both the Brachiosaurus
(the herbivore) and the popular tyrannosaurus (the carnivore) inthe building. The zoo also provides the
information about the name, source, and other necessary information on each dinosaur's model. This is beneficial
to both the children and the public.
It’s separated into 2 parts, namely, the snake section and the indoor amphibian section.
For the snake section, you can meet various kinds of snakes here such as King Cobra.
You can watch snakes at this building safely since the snakes are surrounded by thick
and strong mirrors. Regarding the indoor amphibian section, it is decorated like the
oasis with various kinds of trees and plants. It has the pond for amphibians such as Iguana,
Clouded Monitor (Bengal monitor), Red-headed Monitor (Harlegoin Monitor), Water Monitor, etc.

How to get there
Driving along Nakhon Ratchasima - Puk Thing Chai road for approximately 1.3 Kilometer.
Turning left to Chalerm Phrakiat King Rama IX Road.The entrance is on your left.
