Khao Kheow Open Zoo and Night Safari in Chonburi (150 km east of
Bangkok) was established as a unit of the Zoological Park Organization
of Thailand on June 1st, 1978 as an open zoo with an area of 5,000
Rai or 2000 acres.
In the Khao Kheow animal sanctuary,
there are 300 species of animals with a population of 6000 lives.
