The Dok Krachiao Blossom Festival

Dok Krachiao Blossom Festival

When: June - August 2017

Where: Pa Hin Ngam National Park, Thep Sathit District, Chaiyaphum

The Siam Tulip, or Dok Krachiao, flower comes in to full bloom in the early part of the rainy season from June to August. During these months, the fields of Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Thep Sathit district and Sai Thong National Park in Nong Bua Ra Haew district will be blanketed with the exceptional beauty of these pinkish-purple flowers. Every year, the Chaiyaphum province in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) are joining hands to organise a range of fun-filled activities including special sightseeing tours to see the fields of the pinkish Krachiao flowers and the rock garden, music concerts, trekking tours in the two National Parks and also booths selling local indigenous One-Tambon-One-Products (OTOP) items of Chaiyaphum province.

Kaeng Hin Phoeng Whitewater Rafting Festival

Where: Kaeng Hin Phoeng, Prachinburi

Whitewater Rafting at Kaeng Hin Phoeng Festival is held annually around June to October. During this time, the water level is high, providing a faster flow, cleaner rapids, and generally less hazardous conditions. In the event, there is a rafting competition and an economical whitewater rafting competition at Kaeng Hin Phoeng.

Rambutan Fair

Where: Surat Thani

This annual fair is held in July. The first rambutan tree was planted in Surat Thani in 1926, and this fair celebrates the delicious fruit, which now grows widely in the area. Highlights include exhibitions of local products and ornamental plants, floats adorned with rambutan and other fruits, and demonstrations of trained monkeys who harvest coconuts.

Kek River Rafting Festival

Where: Phitsanulok

Excited with Kek River Rafting along distance of 8 kilometers, it takes around 2-3 hours depending on the water level. The difficulty is from level 1 to level 5. Because Kek River is quite a rough and harsh rafting course, you should pay attention to the officers' instructions and signals very well all through the activity.

Where: Ubon Rachathani

Every September, tens of thousands of these tiny shrimps, known as Kung Foy in Thai, migrate up the stream of Lam Dome Yai in Ubon Ratchathani province. Using 10 pairs of legs five for walking, another five for swimming, they make most of their journey along the stream bed. When they reach Kaeng Lam Duan Waterfall rapids, the force of the flowing water becomes too much to handle. The migrating shrimps beat this obstacle by simply climbing out of the water and marching along the wet rock on the water's edge until they reach a point where the stream is calm enough to continue their journey in the water. The shrimps' parade takes place only after dusk when predators can't see them easily and the chance of fatal dehydration is minimized.

This marathon is held every year at Mae Moh Lignite coal mine, the major coal resources of Lampang and Thailand. Take part in this event, get healthy and the visitors can also enjoy the stunning scenery in the area nearby the mine and a massive Mae Moh power station which boast spectacular landscape.

Where: Hua Hin, Prachuap Khirikhan

The event will highlight a wide variety of local food and international delicacies cooked by professional chefs from participating hotels and restaurants in Hua Hin and Cha-am. Visitors will get the chance to taste a very special menu created for this event – the 88 pans of hot and spicy fried rice with fresh seafood. Moreover, the event will showcase professional skills from talented kitchen staff in a series of competition, including ice carving, vegetable and fruit carving, and cooking. There are also free evening mini concerts by Thai leading singers.

The Miss Tiffany Universe contest was launched in 1998 in tandem with the government's Amazing Thailand Year, a publicity campaign that emphasised the country's unique tourist attractions. It was also aimed at creating a positive image for transgender people, who struggle to find jobs outside of the entertainment and tourism industries. The winners of Miss Tiffany’s Universe receive 120,000 Baht in cash, a new car and other prizes, totaling over 1 Million Baht.

Ang Thong International Drums Festival is an annual event held in Drum-making Village, Ekkarat Sub-District, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong. The features in the festival included the Wai Khru Klong Ceremony, majestic drums procession, mini light-and-sound presentation, international drum and cultural performances, Thai classical music show, long drum and drum dances, Thailand to ASEAN cultural performances, exhibitions on Ang Thong’s products, sales of OTOP products and inexpensive goods, and food fair.

This marathon event is held to honor and cerebrate the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and to support and campaign the youth and people maintain one’s health by running exercise. The event can be divided into 4 divisions: Marathon, Half Marathon, Mini Marathon and Fun Run. The racing course is along the Songkhla beach with scenic scenery.

Thai Silk, Thainess in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit

As part of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Birthday Celebration on 12 August, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is organising a special event to promote Thai silk in honour of H.M. the Queen’s continuous contributions to the conservation, development, and promotion of a wide variety of Thai silk to international recognition. The exhibition will showcase Thai silk fabric from five leading silk production centres in Thailand, demonstrate the unique Thai silk weaving techniques especially the most famous Yok Thong Thai silk from Chantarasoma Silk Weaving Group from Ban Tha Sawang, Surin. On the weekends, there will be mini fashion shows of Thai silk clothes designed by Princess Siriwanwaree Nareerat and many other leading designers during the event.

The Akha Swing Festival

The Akha Swing Festival

Where: Chiang Rai

The festival will held at the end of the hard weeding work on the rice and is a time of celebration for all, which the Akha say that they came down from God through the swing. The swing is built by an elder called a Dzoeuh Mah, which a village does not have this elder can not build a regular swing or gate. The swing is used for four days, then the braided vine rope is wrapped around one of the four very long legs and the swing is left there till it is rebuilt the next year. Swinging on an Akha swing is fast and takes one very high, an old rope is not safe.

The Queen's Cup Hua Hin Triathlon is one of the largest triathlon events in Thailand organized by Sport Bicycle. The aim of competition is to celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday anniversary. The event, which takes place at Black Mountain, offers to the participants some beautiful landscapes. Every year the event attracts many Thai and foreign runners. The race included Triathlon Olympic Distance (1.5 km swim / 40 km bike / 10 km run), Triathlon Sprint Distance (750 meter swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run) and Duathlon (2.5 km run, 20 km bike, 5km run).

Where: Trang

The cake derives from the fact that Trang people are well known for making delicious. This is particularly true for the villagers of Ban Lam Phu Ra where making cakes dates back generations. The cakes of Trang have no frosting and have several flavors like orange, coffee, three-flavored, etc. The festival is scheduled for every August.
