Laguna Phuket Triathlon

Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon

The Chula Kathin Festival

Chula kathin, a Buddhist festival also known as kathin laen celebrates the end of Buddhist Lent and allows participants to earn merit
through the offering of material for monks’ robes to the temple. Chula means “a little”, and reflects the Buddhist belief that even small
amounts of sharing and caring are beneficial. During Chula Kathin, this is symbolised with small pieces of newly made fabric that are cut
and then sewn together to form a monk’s five main pieces of clothing. This ancient and important religious tradition requires devout faith,
not least due to it consuming a full day to complete the merit making ceremony. Whilst Chula Kathin takes place over 24-hour period,
the preparation is a 6 month long, drawn-out affair. First, hand-picked cotton seeds are planted, and natured into maturity, bolls are picked,
processed and eventually woven. This ceremony is founded on the legend in which the Lord Buddha performs these humble tasks – preparing robes
for his monks by his own hand.
Long Sapao Chao Lakorn, Lampang Floating Festival

The festival is held during the full moon of 12th lunar month. The tradition has been practiced over a thousand years. The boats are built and beautifully decorated to be
floated into the river. It is believed that floating the boat is a way to dedicate or offer the alms to the dead or deposit the merit for themselves in the next life.
Yee Peng Festival

Yee Peng is the annual festival held to celebrate the full moon in the northern capital of Chiang Mai on the day preceding Loy Krathong by one day in November.
The word "Yee Peng" is the northern Thai term referring to the full moon of the 12th lunar month in the Buddhist calendar.
Loi Krathong Festival

As the full moon of the twelfth lunar month (usually in mid-November) lights up the night sky, throughout the Thai kingdom, hundreds of thousands of ornately-decorated
krathong or traditional banana leaf floats are set adrift in rivers and waterways in a spell-binding ritual called "Loi Krathong" - the 'festival of lights". This is one of
the Kingdom's oldest and best-preserved traditions.
Loy Krathong Karb Kluay Festival

Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu Worshiping Ceremony

Tak’s Loi Kratong Sai Festival and A Thousand Floating Candles

Tak Loi Kratong Sai is held annually take place on the bank of the Ping River Rattanakosin 200 years Bridge, Tak and this year the schedule is during
10 - 14 November. Loi Krathong Sai or the floating of a thread of Krathongs made from coconut shells, along with the competition of floating a train of
1,000 glittering lanterns or coconut-shell Krathongs for a royal trophy. During 6 days of event, the visitors will get the chance to experience the floating
of Krathong Sai, light-and-sound presentation, fireworks display and several cultural performances and contests.
Sukhothai Loi Krathong and Candle Festival

Where: Sukhothai Historical Park, Sukhothai
The tradition derived from traditional beliefs common to communities living along the banks of a
river or waterway. It has become a need to worship and supplicate the Khongkla to avoid bad luck, to
worship the gods in the Brahmin tradition, or to revere the Buddha's footprint. The celebrations are
normally organized in the 12th month when the tide is high and the air is cool. Sukhothai's Loi Krathong
is held annually on the full moon night of the 12th lunar month at the Sukhothai Historical Park. The
Krathongs, or floats, have been made in the form of lotus. There is also a reference, in the Sila Charuek,
to candle lighting and playing with firework in a grand festival believed to be similar to the candle
lighting and firework as practiced in the current Loi Krathongs Festival. In this festival, there are
Nang Nopphamat procession, exhibitions, lighting of lantern at the historical site, Loi Krathong,
fireworks over all waterways, and Krathong competition.
Monkey Buffet Festival

The "Lopburi Monkey Festival" is held annually on the last weekend of November. The Macaque monkeys are offered a buffet of scrumptious fruits and sweets, ice cream, and more as a
way of thanking them for the prosperity they bring to the town.
Buriram Long Boat Racing Festival

Where: Satuek District, Buriram
The racing take place at Moon River of Satuek District, Buriram. The Long Boat Racing Festival is one of the traditional activities that mark the end of the Buddhist Lent. The history
of the festival can be traced back to the Ayutthaya period or about 600 years ago. Other than the competitions, visitors can also enjoy boat procession and other cultural performances.
Phimai Festival

Where: Phimai Historical Park, Nakhon Ratchasima
An annual festival held for more than a century, the traditional long-boat races draw thousands of visitors from all over. This event is further enhanced by a light and sound
presentation at Prasat Hin Phimai, local art and cultural performances, various fun-filled competitions, and sales of local products and exhibitions.
Surin Elephant Round-Up and Elephant Show

One of the most exciting spectacles of the year in Thailand. Surin, in the northeast of the country, known as the province of elephants, has long been associated with elephants.
The people here are well known for their skills in rounding up wild elephants, training and taming them. Every year, more than one hundred elephants take part in the festival,
displaying their grace, strength and intelligence in games of soccer, log carrying and tug-of-war, and the highlight of the festival, a dramatic mock battle. The festival tour also
takes you to the old capital of Siam, Ayutthaya, and allows you to spend a day at an elephant centre learning the skills of the elephant mahouts.
River Kwai Bridge Week

Each year in late November to early December, the world famous River Kwae Bridge built by Allied prisoners-of-war during World War II , becomes the focal point of celebrations.
Event highlights include historical and archaeological exhibits, a carnival, folk and cultural performances, rides on World War II vintage trains, and a spectacular light and sound
presentation re-enacting the bridge's World War II legacy.
Blooming Bua Tong (Mexican Sunflower) Festival

Where: Doi Mae U Ko, Mae Hong Son
Bua Tong Ban or Blooming Mexican Sunflower Festival is held in November, affording people the opportunity to see the sunflower fields, waterfalls and
mist at Doi Mae U Ko, Khun Yuam District Mae Hong Son. There are also hilltribe performances.
Flora Park Festival
When: November 2018 - February 2019
Where: Wang Nam Keaw District, Nakhon Ratchasima
The festival will showcase more than 100,000 flowers of over 20 different species, on a 360 degree angle viewpoint with the spectacular vertical garden.
Over 5,000 English roses of 400 species will be arranged beautifully across the landscape. Event will be held on an area of over 50 rai at Khao Phaeng Ma,
Wang Nam Keaw district, Nakhon Ratchasima province.
Krabi Bergfah Andaman Festival

The festival is open around November till December in every year because it is the period when the sunflowers are in full bloom. The festival highlights include
photography, scenic, train / bicycle in the sunflower field, the distribution of OTOP products, such as tours of soldiers living in the wild for recreational boating,

Phra Pathom Chedi Festival

Phuket Carnival Festival

Where: Patong Beach, Phuket
The island’s premier party town of Patong is set to lead off the Phuket tourism high season with its annual carnival, from December 15 through December 20.
The festival involves the live entertainment and the traditional parade, a giant Ferris wheel is expected to appear on the scene, with its erection complete
by the start of the festivities.
Phu Rua Poinsettia Festival

Where: Phu Rua National Park, Loei
This is largest producer of Christmas trees or poinsettia in Loei province, on the area nearly 100,000 poinsettia trees are grown over 5-rai in Phu Rua,
giving the provincial authorities a good reason to organise the Christmas tree festival or Phu Rua Poinsettia Festival. Visitors can enjoy to taking a picture
of beautiful red leaves of Christmas trees and at night, also enjoy beautiful lanterns lightened up to celebrate the Christmas event.
Prasat Sikhoraphum Celebration
