Our recent stay at Como Resort (our Honeymoon in March 2008) :just wanted to make sure that other people find this place as well. We just can t say enough good things about the staff, restaurant and the all around service. During our stay we just had to sit back and relax, everything was taken care of; from the morning meal until we went to bed we had such an excellent service. Thank you again all of you at Como Resort for making us feel so special.
perfect !

If you are going to Koh Samui just to relax and kick back, this is a perfect place to do that. If you are there for the party, try another hotel and another beach as well. We liked Como very much, it was perfect for us.
Very good

Como Resort, Big Buddha Beach
A nice resort with character at the quiet end of Big Buddha beach which is fine enough as a base, good for families (so be prepared for a few kids if you don t have any!)we had a lovely clean and comfortable beach front room, but there was some construction happening to one side and those bungalows may be affected to some extent for a bit, tho we weren t bothered by it at all, so dont let that put you off. Good swimming, decent facilities and Daeng and her team are very friendly and helpful. And wow, what a G&T they serve! The village at Big Buddha is nothing special, but a short taxi ride takes you in to Bo Phut which is well worth a visit, with great restauarants etc. Very conveniently located for the airport (you can see the planes coming into land but hardly hear them), ferries and even Chaweng if you want to bother with that over developed tourist trap. We would definitely stay again as Como makes a pleasant and smooth transition in and out of the islands experience!

Very friendly, relaxing, family orientated accoummodation. Gardens leading on to beach front. Bunglows were extermely clean with good bathroom facilities. Short walk to shops, restaurants and Fishermans village (Bophut). Beach very seasonal.
Really easy to book through with no complications.

Was booked for 7 nights but checked out after 2. The price on this place is a ripoff and al about peace and quiet are wrong. The main road seams to go through the bungalows, the beach are dirty with full of dead fisch. Noo restaurants around. Bungalows are smelling bad and the shower is in the toilet. Much nicer places around for the same price!

Early November is the rainy season so I had the place to myself. It was really nice and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the Big Buddha.
Very easy to use.

We stayed two nights with 2 small kids at Como Resort, which is a basic accomodation with a very friendly and helpful staff. Although the rooms were not very fancy, I can recommend the place for people, who are looking for reasonably prized accomodation. The biggest minus was the swimming pool, which seemed to be so dirty, that we did not want to use it.
Worked very well.

Excellent, quiet and peaceful. Staff very helpful. The lady took me to the post office on her moto so I didnt have to get a taxi! Food decent. Location wasn t great, as to get to Chaweng, you had to take a taxi and the prices varied quite a lot. We did however, do a tour of the island that the owners set up for us. 1200 THB got us about 5 hours driving around the island. Was a lovely way to see it. Pool is small but does the trick, as the sea is a bit shallow. Nice sunsets. We can recommend this place.
No problems whatsoever.

Ideal stop over to soak in the view! Quiet and reserved, its basic accomodation but clean. Food is great and hosts very helpful. Near vacinity is quiet away from most amieneties. Would recommend as a base for people who would like to hire a jeep and explore as well as have a beach and little pool to come back to!
Fast, efficient and trouble free!

In fact our plan was just to stay for three nights at Como Resort but we stayed for ten! We hadn’t even warned our host that our arrival would be at 7.30a.m. but even that didn’t phase her. She simply set about making us welcome and looking after our every need. Our experiences at this small scale resort were really enough to write a book on. Location .. Excellent, our chalet was just two paces from the beach. The nearby airport created no noise problem what so ever (I had wondered about this when we booked). Within easy walking distance to the two piers for boat trips to surrounding Islands or mainland. Room Facilities..The room ‘fridge was really appreciated and the AC system and fan was very efficient. We had no wish for a TV but understand that most chalets had them. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day and bedding replaced every other day. The extensive menu was well presented and good, it was really a struggle to justify eating elsewhere! . The three staff... absolutely delightful, hardworking, full of good humour and fun and they take a good picture! Service...Nothing was too much trouble. Taxis were passing regularly but Dang would book one within minutes if required. Likewise she was able to book hire vehicles that arrived within a few minutes. On deciding to fly back to Bangkok before returning to the UK, Dang even booked flight ticket for us to collect from the airport and sorted out excellent accommodation for us at the Baiyoke Suite Hotel for our last night in Thailand The beach.. Swimming in the first 15mts is no problem, beyond this footwear would be advisable due to rough coral surfaces. A two seater canoe was available, it was good for reaching the huge sandbar about 75 meters from the shore. Being at the opposite end of the bay to the Big Buddha there are very few people passing by on the beach. We certainly recommend this resort. Especially if you want a quiet location with a traditional feel, within reach of busy resorts if you want to visit them. For us this was all we wanted for a very hot two weeks in April. Other times of the year might be different. We had some doubts about sea water quality on all of the island’s beaches but we hope to return!!!
Trouble free... efficient ..speedy .. reliable .. excellent .. Thank you!

We stayed here in Feb 2007. We had four nights reserved but we left after just one. The staff was nice but thats about it. The walls of the bungalow had holes, the pool was very litte and very dirty. The road just next to the resort is very busy so you can forget about peace and calm. There are few places nearby where you can eat. We left after one night and found a much nicer resourt for less money. I would not recommend this place.
Exelent as always

This resort is ideal for a stay on ko samui. it offers peace and seclusion but is only a short taxi ride from bophut and chaweng (about 200 baht). The staff were brilliant, the rooms very clean and the location perfect (our room was 2 steps from the pool and about 10 yard from the beach) For the price, you d be very lucky to find anything better on Samui.
Excellent. No complaints at all.

Como Resort was fantstic. It is small, out of the way, quiet, no crowds and it has lovely staff who always presentd us with a big welcoming smile whenever they saw us. It was perfect for a relaxing start to our Thailand trip. Our bungalow was literally right on the beach and it is only 50Bht/person from the nightlife of Chaweng Beach or a short stroll to the smaller bars/eateries of Big Buddah Beach. The price is resonable and we would definitly stay again.
Great-no problems at all.

Nice quiet little hotel. Arrived and the room i reserved was not available. Received some money back as refund but wasnt given an explanation as to why the room i booked well in advance was taken (or why it meant we were downgraded ). Beach front hut with own bathroom delightful, all you really need on samui. Bedding wasnt the greatest quality. (no top sheet and obviously comforter had been used before.) Disappointed that the pool was getting retiled - water was very murky so couldnt swim. Internet facilities also werent working. Stated that tours could be booked there - yet staff really didnt seem to know anything about them/prices/time.
very fast and efficent... thanks!

This is our second visit to Como Resort. The place is great if you want to have a peaceful and relaxing holiday. All the rooms are exactly on the beach, surrounded by palms and trees. The staff is friendly, always smiling and very polite. We love also the great thai dishes they make. And if you want some more fun, just rent a motorbike and go around the island, in less than 15 min you can reach any other crowed place like Chaweng beach. We really enjoyed our time there.

Really accomodating place. Buffet was awsome, they upgradded us to the 19th floor, the views were fantastic. Do not book a cab from reception, hail one from outside as they charge double the going rate. Be careful of the touts outside as the will try their best to get you to visit a clothing store belonging to their family.
Very effective, I am impressed

The Tai manageress was really helpful, and organised us everything we needed (car hire, advice on prices, good food and a friend to give me a good, clean massage)She made our stay really enjoyable. A nice pool for the kids- perfect if you are a family but a kiddy nightmare if you are a couple. You cannot swim on the beach, but thats the case for most of the Island, go to Koh Toa to do this. We did swim at Lamai Beach, but water seemed really polluted. Swam there twice and ended up with a bad infection each time. Overall it was a good stay. Make sure you get a beach bungalow otherwise you will end up facing the pool and... Other bungalows perfect for families as you can then watch your little dears. I will return when I have children- the people who run the place are good, honest and once again said ,very helpful.

Como Resort, Big Buddha Beach
A beautiful, quiet oasis, small and romantic/ exotic, with a lot of restaurants, some bars and mini- supermarkets in 3-5 min walking distance if wanted;-) Friendly staff, and good food at their own restaurant! The resort IS right on the beach. A bit shallow water, goes far out. A very small, but cozy swimmingpool. Lots of beach-/toys for children and adults, books/ magazines to read, tv in the restaurant, hammocks, beach beds and cannoe for free use, also volley ball net. Internet for rent. Thai massage available. They do laundry too. You get your room cleaned every day with fresh towels. They provide bed sheets. Very helpful with any kind of problem! Driver available. Motor bikes for rent: 200- 250 bath a day. Bungalow: We rented the beach front standard! Fridge, no tv, a big bed, small bath room, but you have everything you need in paradise. Cozy excotic interior! Your own front balkony with furniture. Shower inside and outside. Hope you will enjoy a possible stay! Good tip: Every full moon there is a two days HUGE beach party at Koh Phan Ngan, the next island. You can see the island from Como resort. Speed boats take you there and back for 600 bath from the beach. You see the boats crossing a bit up the beach from Como. Wilder than Ibiza.. Try it!
No problems at all! We got everything we asked for:-)

Absoluetly fantastic! We stated 10 nights with our 16 month old daughter and wished we could ve stayed longer. Como is a small, quiet and cosy resort right on the beach. The beachfront is gently sloping under shady coconut palms, no ugly retaining walls as you see further along the beach. Deng and Mark were fantastic hosts, very helpful and all the staff were friendly and attentive. There was no pressure at all to eat at the restaurant although we did most of the time as the food was very yummy with generous serves. This place is very laid back and very kid friendly but still quiet enough for a romantic holiday. The village of Bang Rak is a 300 metre walk along the road or beach. Chaweng is 10 mins (200 B) in a taxi and Fishermans village 5 mins (100 B). There are some small bars and restaurnats in Bang Rak too. Can t wait to go back! Thanks again for everything.
no problems

We liked the place very much and our children too(2 and 5y). It´s a quiet place with a nice beach that´s not crowded with people. Unfortetly we found pieces of glas every day on the beach or in the ocean. The ocean was calm but the bottom got a bit muddy. The pool did not look clean so we did not let our children swim there. The manager was lovely, she helped us with a smile every time. They had many toys and beachstuff that was ok to borrow. If we go back to Samui we will come back here to get some peace and quiet vacation. And it´s not to far from other resturants and small shops (5 min walk). The road goes just behind the place but it´s not really disturbing.

We got exactly what we wanted and expected. Good value! If you need walking distance to shopping and dining this place is a little remote. But if you any way intend to rent a scooter or a car this place offer tranqulity away from the commotion in Chaweng. Rooms are quite simple but close to the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. The pool is very small but ok for children. If you need a personal guide, tour round the island, driver etc. ask for Mr.Lok he is nice and provides good service inexpensive!
Very easy making reservations, no hustle!

Pictures taken on the website make you believe it is big resort with nice swimmingpool, actually the pools is little bit bigger as a jacuizi and bungalows are too close to eachother. I specially requersted a beachfront bungalow but was put into the bungalow near the pool . Also there is nothing to do near this resort.

We stayed for six nights!! Very, very nice and peaceful place. Nice and clean rooms, our family bungalow was so perfect with plenty of space. Very nice and friendly owner and staff, our kids loved the place. Nice food. The only little negative thing is the extremely low water, but that seems to be a problem all over the Island during this period. We ll surely visit you again.
Worked perfect as usual, no problems at all....

Como Resort, Big Buddha Beach
We stayed with our daughter (2 years) two weeks at the Como Resort and were very happy there and missed nothing. Very friendly owners and staff, its a natural paradise, especially if you want to escape from the crowdy and commercial Chaweng Beach. The bungalows are normal standard and very clean and with good a/c and the food at the restaurant is delicious. There is a small lovely pool and you dont have to share the beach with many people. Its nothing for professional swimmers, more for fun bathing and ideal for small kids. If you have kids, they will love it (and important for parents: The baby cots are huge, in very good shape and clean). Basically, its a very quiet and tranquil place apart from the street noise and occassional party sound from the next bigger village one kilometre far away (Bang Rak). We loved this comfortable and cosy place and felt very wery well and would definitely stay there again.
Worked well without any problems.

I have mixed feelings. Service of the restaurant staff was very good. We bought fresh seafood near the Big Budda pier and the staff set-up a nice table on the beach and allowed us to grill our own food on fire grill. On the negative side, we booked a Superior room and our view of the water was poor as there was a bungalow directly in front of ours (a duplex room with a shared porch with another guest). This was after I wrote in my reservation that I only wanted to stay here if they could guarantee the room would be beachfront without another bungalow in front of ours. There are really only 3 stand-alone bungalows that I would call beachfront. I spoke to the manager and he didn t think there was a problem. However, he did give me a partial refund and offered to give my money back if we wanted to move ... so that was positive. I would stay here again if I could be guaranteed a beachfront room.
Easy.

We had a great time at Como Resort. The staff at the resort are very welcoming and the rooms were clean. We stayed in both the standard and the superior. We actually like the standard room better. We were never bored. They provide activities on the beach. The view is lovely- but the beach does not have the best swimming. However it is close to everything you need.
Very quick and easy to arrange accom. through them.

We booked a standard beachfront, and yes, beachfront it was. Impossible to come closer to the sea without becoming wet. The bungalow was a wooden one - not exactly 5 stars, but it has everything you need on a holliday including airco (and a very good price tag :-) The atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back. One day we bought some sea food on the market and the friendly staff organised promptly a private BBQ on the beach for us. Won t see this happen in the Hilton. I would highly recommend this place. In fact, I already booked again for next year.

We were too tired after a long flight so we hadn t time to complane about room facilities. It s very modest! The location is great and by high tide the view is amazing. Very quiet and peacefull. By low tide in the morning it s impossible to swim because of stones on the beach and it looks rather ugly. But the owners are very nice and the restaurant isn t expensif
