Aree Beach Resort is located right on the beach at the northern part of Lamai beach. It is far away from the hustle and bustle but still near enough to discover the nightlife of Lamai by foot. Aree Beach Resort consist of bungalows with single rooms and double rooms, so called family rooms, for every taste and budget.
About the hotel: The hotel is good. I mean it s nor super, but it s not bad. We were in beach front villa, location is perfect, but it need renovation. The sea was good only after 16 00... before this time we couldn t swim at all :( we rent a motobike and every day went for swimming to different beaches, which were better, then Lamai (Bang Por, Maenam) But the stuff of the hotel is very friendly! And it was great to seat in a chair in the evening...in front of the sea...
About the hotel: simple not fussy or over the top, literally on the beach.
service was excellent aree and her army of house staff were always on hand willing and able always with a smile no matter what trouble we kept coming up with.
close enough to lamai town to enjoy but just far enough down the beach to be peacefull. lamai is definitly superior to chaweng all the bustle without the hassle.
The food is excellent and if your at a lost end at daft o clock in the morning try chom lay 24 hr restaurant the food is brilliant no matter what time of day or night you are there (the shrimp cake is the best ever and the mantis shrimp are superb!)
2 weeks just was not even remotly enough!

to swimm you have to walk a little bit but perfect for snorkeling when is no low tide.

About the hotel: This is a really great choice, great value, you can get a cabin right on the beach, the beach is quite compared to south lamai, and you can walk a bit south to find great swimming.
About the hotel: It was a beautiful place. We felt well ourself. The owner and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
On the beach you should wear boots, but on the lower side of the bank you can swim without them.
If you go about 200 metres on the sea, you can see colorful fishes.

About the hotel: Wir waren zwei Wochen da und wohnten in einem Seaside Bungalow. Wir haben schon viele Fernreisen unternommen, aber bei Aree und Helmuth war es am allerschönsten. Falls irgendwelche Mängel auftreten, behebt Helmuth diese. Wir haben ihn als sehr freundlichen und klugen Gastgeber kennen- und schätzen gelernt.
Das Resort ist sehr familiär geführt. Täglich wird die Bettwäsche ausgetauscht, die Handtücher gewechselt und 2 Wasserflaschen in den Kühlschrank gestellt. Die tailändischen Bedieneteten sind immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Man kann vor dem Hotel direkt nicht schwimmen wegen des vorgelagerten Riffs, aber die wunderschöne Aussicht, die ruhige Gemütlichkeit und die schattenspendenen Bäume machen dies mehr als wett.
Wer alles etwas locker sieht und sich in die tailändische Mentalität einfindet, wird den Urlaub dort in vollen Zügen genießen.
Wir gehen auf ale Fälle nächstes Jahr wieder hin.

About the hotel: we really enjoyed our stay in the aree beach resort. the rooms are clean (they are daily cleaned) and the service is very nice. the bungalows are located in the north of lamai-beach, where it is quiet and not crowded. if you want to have a relaxed residence in koh samui, an ideal place for it.
About the hotel: Un posto molto tranquillo il bello : la stanza beach front a pochi metri dal mare quindi ti addormenti e svegli con il rumore del mare.
Il brutto è che il mare in quella parte di Lamai è verametne brutto quindi devi spostarti, le stanze non erano belle o nuove ma funzionali aria condizionata tv e frigobar, clientela totalmente tedesca, il proprietario non il massimo della socialità ma una persona perbene

Aree Beach Resort consist of bungalows and villas with
single rooms and double rooms, so called family rooms, for every taste and
budget. Most of double rooms have 2 separated bedrooms. Two are gallery
rooms. All family rooms can accommodate parents and one or two children.
Accommodations are available from well furnished Standard Rooms with fan
to comfortable Beachfront Bungalows and Villas with air-conditioning, mini-bar
and TV. Even the Standard Rooms have hot water and TV and a fridge can be
fitted in on request. A small cafeteria is available for breakfast and is
used as TV room and to get together. Wireless Internet is available.
