Tree Tops Jungle Safaris

Tree Tops Jungle Safaris trips/accommodation are not suitable for children under 6 years old. There is no electricity at the raft houses, other than a generator that is run for a few hours each evening; guests should therefore bring a torch/flashlight. It is recommended that guests bring their own towel to take with them to the raft houses during the rainy season.

Guests should bring a small back pack to carry enough of their belongings for their stay at the raft houses. Large suitcases are left at Tree Tops. On occasions Tree Tops itinerary may be reversed and the trip will start at the raft houses and finish at the tree houses (where applicable).

If conditions outside of Tree Tops control do not permit the included activity to be undertaken, we will do our best to substitute an alternative activity e.g. if water levels in the river are too low and we are unable to go tubing, we may go for a trek in the park or kayaking in a flat bottomed canoe. Also if water levels at the lake are too high we may not be able to visit or swim at the caves as they will be flooded.

Basic Tree Houses:
Ideal for the 'no-frills' traveler, these 16 individual rooms are constructed of wood with a thatch roof. They are modestly equipped with:

• double or twin bed
• mosquito net
• electric light
• flushing toilet
• cold water shower
• open windows
• cool air fan
• small balcony

Superior Tree House Rooms:
Cosy and comfortable, our 29 conjoined superior rooms are in 2 rows of 12 rooms with a walkway separating the two rows - these rooms have balconies overlooking the jungle; a separate group of 5 rooms have balconies overlooking the swimming pool area. All have a tiled roof and ceramic tiled floors and are accessed by a sloping walkway rather than individual ladders. They are ideally suited for groups/families travelling together and people not comfortable with climbing a ladder. The rooms are equipped with:

• air conditioning and/or cool air fan
• double and/or twin bed . Three or four person occupancy is available in many rooms
• open roof bathrooms with hot or cold shower
• private balcony
• glass windows

Deluxe Tree Houses:
Indulge yourself in jungle living luxury-style! Our 10 spacious, beautifully-decorated rooms have a tiled roof and ceramic tiled floors. There are two adjoining rooms up each tree and are suitable for individuals, couples and families. 6 rooms have balconies that overlook the jungle; 4 rooms have balconies with a mountain view. The rooms are accessed via a sturdy ladder and are equipped with:-

Day 1 : Travel to Khao Sok from Phuket Bus Station by the 7.30am air-conditioned public bus. You will be met off the public bus on arrival at Khao Sok and transferred to Tree Tops, arriving at about 11.30am; or meet at Oum Restaurant opposite Suratthani train station for transfer in by Tree Tops songthaew or minibus* leaving at 8am, arriving Tree Tops at about 10.30am; or transfer in by Tree Tops taxi/minibus from Suratthani Airport on flight arrival.

Lunch is served at 12 noon. After lunch, a short transfer to a local elephant camp for a 2 hour elephant trek through the jungle. Afterwards we go tubing down the Klong Sok in inner-tubes, or canoeing; observing dramatic mountain cliffs and wildlife along the way. Return to Tree Tops for dinner and overnight in your tree high room.

* If arriving from Suratthani then you may do the elephant trek before lunch; and visit the viewpoint, waterfall and local temple after canoeing or tubing in the afternoon of Day 1, rather than on Day 2 after the park trek.


Day 2 : Breakfast at 7am; then at 8am a 2 hour trek in Khao Sok National Park. On the way back visit a viewpoint, a small waterfall and the local temple to feed the monkeys. Return to Tree Tops for an early lunch. After lunch, transfer to the local bus stop in time to catch the 12.30 air-conditioned bus to Phuket arriving at Phuket about 4.30pm; or travel by taxi/minibus/songthaew or the local bus to Suratthani*

Return to the raft houses to relax before the evening meal; then a short night safari to observe the nocturnal life of the rainforest. Sleep overnight in your raft house.

Day 3 : Early morning canoe trip before breakfast; then journey back by boat to Rajaprabha Dock, arriving about 10 a.m.; transfer by songthaew or minibus to Suratthani*; or to the local bus stop for the public bus to Phuket or Suratthani. *

Day 2 : Early breakfast, then transfer to Km 99 for a 4 hour guided trek to Chiew Larn Lake*, where a long-tail boat will be waiting to take you to Tree Tops Raft Houses for lunch. Boat journey to the raft houses is about 15 minutes. There will be time to relax and swim in the lake before again boarding your boat for a stunning scenic trip around the lake, the Gui-lin of Thailand! The boat will drop you at Rajaprabha Dock at the end of the day where we will be waiting to transfer you back to Tree Tops tree houses for your evening meal and overnight in your tree high room.

* If you prefer not to trek to the lake we can amend the itinerary and drive you to the boat dock at Rajaprabha Dam (about 1 hour drive) where we can take a 1 hour boat journey to the raft houses.

Day 3 : Breakfast, then transfer to a local elephant camp for a 2 hour trek through the jungle. Return to Tree Tops for lunch. After lunch a 3 hour guided trek in Khao Sok National Park before returning to Tree Tops to relax before your evening meal. Dinner and overnight in your tree high room.


Day 4 : Breakfast, then transfer by songthaew or minibus to Suratthani*; or to the local bus stop for your onward public bus journey to Phuket or Suratthani.
