About the hotel: We stayed in the resort for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The staff is authentic and pleasing. Sam who runs the hotel gave us the feeling that we were staying in a family hotel. We stayed 3 days in the luxury tent and 2 days in the pool suite villa. Given the fact that you are staying almost in a tropical rainforest, the condition of the rooms are reasonably good. I can recommend the luxury tent if you are backpacking or want to experience the outdoor live. The pool suite villa is very comfortable and its views and surrounding does give you the idea that you have landed in your own piece of tropical paradise. Breakfast could be improved if you want to meet western standards. Lunch and dinner is good enough. Especially if you take the authentic northern Thai dinner for two, which is excellent.
About the reservation service: Efficient, reliable and satisfactory. I wouldn t hesitate to make use of it again.
About the hotel: It is the most beautiful, private and personal hotel and spa in Chiang Mai. Excellent food and brilliant service. Highly recommend it.
About the hotel: We stay 3 nights at Sukantara resort and we was really deasapointed :
1- Your hotel is at 1h by car from city center due to road condition. You can rent a car, but price proposed by the hotel are 20% higher than in the city.
2 - Place is great (wonderful landscape), BUT confort is not at the level expected for the price.
--> No Spa, No swiming pool,
--> Bedroom smelt bad, Outdoors bathroom is good, but not with slug.First night : no electricity - Second Night : no hot water.
--> For the food, the menu is very short (no many choice) and the restaurant with table not very confortable (for example,no pillow on chair, no deckchair....).
Conclusion : no value for money. It s expensive for services and room proposed
