The Khum Lanna, a large
beautiful teak wood house in the rural heart of Northern Thailand,
surrounded by rice fields
and orchards, preserves the best of
Thailand’s country side and rural traditions, with a hint of luxury
for the discerning guest seeking peace, natural beauty and
tranquility.
The farm is ringed by tall mountains on three
sides and in a small valley of emerald green rice fields and
tropical orchards;
the ambience is exotic and completely charming.
Accommodation in the traditional teak wood house is also available.
The tour includes a Thai
cooking class where you can learn how to cook authentic tasting Thai
food.
All major ingredients in Thai cooking are introduced along
with the concept of balancing the 5-flavor groups to get exactly
the
taste you desire. Other activities around the farm emphasis the
rural traditions celebrated in the Khum.
Water buffalos and a small
museum of local culture are on the site.

PROGRAM:
|
- 07:30 am. depart from your
hotel in Chiang Mai by local truck to a small charming town of Phrao
(north of Chiang Mai). Start with a market tour to get some
introduction and exploration of local vegetable, fruits and
ingredients. Then, proceed to the Khum Lanna. Late morning, arrived
at Khum Lanna and be greeted by local Lanna people.
- Tasty herbal tea or fruit
juice welcome drink from the fruitful garden around Khum Lanna.
Enjoy preparation for lunch. Start by a garden tour around the
house; collecting different seasonal herbs, vegetables, and fruits
for cooking. Learning how to ride a water buffalo and do the actual
riding.
- Prepare and cook your
selection from the garden.

- Lunch as you have prepared.
Afternoon, start Thai dessert that you can test and take away. Take
a cycling tour to visit Aui Kham house, experiencing traditional
curing and herbal medicine processing for local people by Aui Kham
(more than 60 years experience). Biking back to Khum Lanna. Trip
ended at approx. 17:00 hrs. Then, transfer back to Chiang Mai.
