Rungarun Resort on Koh Phangan is designed to be in harmony with its natural surrounding and is situated a long the beautiful white sandy beach of Bantai. The resort is not far from Haad Rin where the world famous full moon party takes place.
Our cottages are scattered over the sweeping hillside, surrounded by tropical plants and shaded by swaying coconut palms. The hotel rooms are set on the beach with the views of Samui Island.
Some of our bungalows have hot shower that is powered by solar cell. In front of all bungalows we have a nice veranda where you can relax when you want.
About the hotel: It was a little expensive, but a very nice place. I think they start dropping the price if you stay for at least 4 nights. Pan (sp?) was such a warm and friendly manager/owner (?) of the place. Lot s of cats and dogs running around. Nice pool, OK beach front (but you can always walk up and down this beach [Ban Tai] to find other beaches during the day and bungalow bars at night). Good food, although if you order eggs for breakfast tell them not to cook too long! Close enough to Haad Rin and very close to Thongsala (I really like the location in between the two). You can easily rent motorbikes (they will call someone for you) to drive around the rest of the island, but be careful of some of the hilly roads especially heading towards Haad Rin. They will also book ferry s for you. Not a lot of night action at this particular bungalow, but again, you can always walk up and down the beach at night to find a bar or just taxi to Haad Rin. Overall, very content.

About the hotel: For anyone looking for peace and quiet: this is the perfect spot. Comfortable bungalows, lovely well kept gardens, a nice little swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Two minor things: the restaurant food is a bit disappointing,
and there is not enough shade on the beach; large umbrellas would solve this problem. A lovely place to relax.
About the hotel: What can I say! The Rungarun is fantastic! We are so glad we chose this resort.The beachfront bungalow R02 lived up to more than our expectations.
Great clean swimming pool and very well kept gardens.The private beach was the best beach in Ban Tai and cleaned and raked each morning to make it look immaculate.
The Bungalow was clean and well apointed it even had a bath tub,everything worked and was clean and modern.The staff were great and helpful as was the owner who went out of her way to make sure everything was just right.
Food was good quality very cheap and quick which we didnt expect after previose comments on time taken to prepare food.
Dont expect a party as this resort is quiet and relaxing.
If you dont choose the Rungarun when staying in Ban Tai then you are making a mistake and will miss out on perhaps the best place to stay between Tongsala and haad Rin.
I will be back for sure and didnt want to leave.
Everything was perfect for us which is hard to get when booking on line,the photos dont do this place justice.

About the hotel: Excellent place to stay! Very clean and spacious rooms with a friendly and (extremely) helpful staff!! A quiet place to stay, which is nice after a long night on the beach. Good variety of food available and beautiful pool to lounge around.
About the hotel: very quiet and off road. few beautiful huts. nice staff. beach was very clean, beautiful and almost empty. but there were lots of algaes in the ocean. 5 min. to Tongsala by motorbike. not recommended for partying... we liked it

About the hotel: Just a few Bungalows and we had the pool and the beach almost for ourselves. The staff were great but they do everything and you have to wait a little bit to long for food. Very clean place and very peaceful.
About the hotel: This is a very nice resort, the bungalows are very clean and adequate. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is situated on a very attractive stretch of beach. I highly recommend this resort.

About the hotel: Great to be back here, Phan and Mr Kit are great hosts, and make you feel really at home, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We had our 2 year old daughter with us this time and found that the place had become very popular with families. Very clean well kept resort and the pool is a great addition. Highly Recommended,
About the hotel: Our stay at the resort was fantastic. The bungalows were modern, clean and spacious and were cleaned each day. The staff were very friendly, especially Pan, who runs the resort. We were assisted with enquiries with regards to further travelling, scooter hire and location of landmarks on the island. The food in the restaurant was fabulous and reasonably priced. The resort is located far enough away from Haad Rin to escape the noise and the crowds but not so far away that it was a big inconvenience. The beach is pretty, though not always great for swimming as it is quite shallow some of the time. I would thoroughly recommend Rungarun.
