Catherine Howard 2008-12-27	Phangan Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach Excellent hotel in a great location for the main town and beaches. Brand new - really clean and friendly staff - it is like the images on the website, unlike other places we stayed in Thailand. Includes free breakfast - really good value for money. Only issue we had was the taxi driver finding it - say it is next to the cooking school and there shouldn t be a problem.	Excellent.

MISS PARVEEN AKHTAR 2008-09-15	Phangan Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach The hotel was fine, run by a family. Room was clean , also bathroom was clean. No safe deposits in the room though. Pool was ok, a little small. Breakfast was so so, only had a choice of 3 dishes, toast with jam, muesli with fruit and yoghurt, sausages, bacon, egg and toast. As we stayed over the full moon party period we had to have the compulsory dinner the night before the full moon part. It cost 500 baht and personally I felt it was a real let down and complete waste of money. They served pizza, spaghetti bolgnese, and a few currries with noodles, not worth 500 baht per person, I could have got a much better meal for 2 people at a restuarant including alcoholic drinks for 500baht. It cost the 2 of us 1000 baht and no alcoholic drinks were provided, only coke Other than the compluslory gala, everything else was fine, good location, although Moped in needed to get about to and from this hotel	fine and simple to use

Sarah Sawyer 2007-12-28 until 2008-01-10	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach We stayed at Bankai Orchid for 2 weeks over New Year and absolutely loved the place. The resort is set in a perfect setting right on the beach in Ban Kai(less than 10 mins from Haad Rin but far enough away for when you want some peace and quiet time). We had a Suite Sweet directly on the beach - the room was huge, very modern and cleaned daily and a massive balcony overlooking the beach and sea. Breakfast was also included. The family that ran the resort couldn t have been more helpful, whether it was taking us into Haad Rin or to other places in the island in one of their cars, to ordering food/drinks (the restaurant served excellent cheap food until about 9pm at night) or organising excursions - they went out their way to do everything and more for you. I absolutely loved this resort and will definitely be going back there. Thank you Bankai Orchid for an amazing 2 weeks.
Francesca Pagani 2007-12-23 until 2007-12-27	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach We had a number of issues in trying to contact the resort as they never responded to emails and the phone numbers provided on the webpage were incorrect. However, when we finally arrived, the resort was beautiful. The rooms were basic, but clean and the service was relaxed but good. It s a family run business and the main staff all speak (basic) English. There s a motorbike/jeep rental place right next door making it easy to get around the island. Its about 6 minutes away from Haad Rin (by car) and its nice and quiet. I d definitely stay there again.	Fantastic!! No problems!

It seems that the place is managed by one lady, whose family (?) help out, but seem to do nothing to really help... our room was not cleaned 2 days in a row and we had to ask for it to be done on the 2nd day. There are also limited sun chairs by the pool. Baan Kai is definitely a nicer place to stay than Haad Rin, even though the beach does not look that nice when the tide is out - however, I think there are probably better resorts in Baan Kai than this one..... We stayed in a resort in Koh Samui for the same price which was leagues better for the money.	Fine.
Sarah wilkes 2007-05-01 until 2007-05-05	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach Was a great hotel, really really nice rooms and we stayed in the cheapest one. from what we saw when we stayed over the full moon party there doesnt seem to be much difference between the rooms just the view you get. Huge spacious bed, v effective air con, tv and big clean bathroom. Not in Had Rin took us 45 mins easy walk dwn th beach or only 100bht each for a tuk tuk.	easy to book we stayed another night and they just added it onto the bill for us.
Todd 2006-11-03 until 2006-11-07	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach This is my second time staying at the Banckai Orchid. The first being just under 2 years ago. Things have not changed a bit. First off the Bankai Orchid is located in a beautiful setting, the pool is beach side and the whole resort is set on a fantastic sun set picturesque hillside. The location is just at the base of the Haad rin hills, it is the first resort after the hills if you are going from Haad rin to Thong Sala. The rooms are very clean and have an above average washroom and shower, which are maintained daily by cleaning staff. If booking at Bankai Orchid only book the lowest price possible room because they are no different than the expensive ones only with a better view. The lower priced rooms are actually newly built and a little more updated than the more expensive ones. Since my last visit the grounds area has been updated a little with the planting of trees etc.Also the location and addition of a security guard give you a sense of safety. The resort itself is far above average in all repects and thats where the good news ends. Service was nonexistant 2 years ago and is still nowhere to be found. The resort is pretty much run by the owners 2 kids, which walk around like they just ate a rotten peanut. The food service is terrible and anything to do with customer service is beyond the 2 kids running this otherwise fantastic resort.A real shame that this diamond in the rough cant get there act together and become one of Ko Phangans best resorts. I have stayed here twice and will probably stay here again but if you book this place please be prepared to enjoy the resort, pool and setting and leave food, personality and service to someplace else. The bungalows are beautifully built and appointed but that is where the good news ends! 1) Bungalows advertised as sea view have no sea view. Ours looked over a pile of rubble, a cement mixer and a parking area for motorbikes. 2)There is NO RESTAURANT AND NO BAR 3) The minibar is empty and wasn t refilled with drinking water 4) There are only 6 sunbeds with no mattresses for over 20 bungalows. 5) There is no proper beach access and the beach is littered with glass and plasic pipes. 5) The rooms aren t cleaned properly and we weren t restocked with loo roll. 6) When hiring a safety deposit box you place your valuable on an open tray and they are taken into some back room - you don t even see if they are locked up! 7) Breakfast was disgusting. 8) The staff were miserable and unhelpful. We spent all our time at neighbouring back packer resorts like Harmony Resort just along the beach where you could get excellent food and drink and decent service. We literally just slept at Bankai Orchid it was so bad. In the end we checked out a day early even though we d paid 2000 baht per night and lost the money. The staff didn t even ask why - they are obviously so used to this happening. Steer clear of this place!!!!	Good, but I think Sawadee should take responsibility and remove bad accommodation from their listings.
Marie-Louise Lindberg 2006-02-23 until 2006-02-26	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach The hotel and location was ok but the personell and services dosen´t exist. We waited 40-45 min. for breakfast and we were the only guests. After 3 nights we gave up and went back to Samui.	Wery god services.

Annabel 2005-04-21 until 2005-04-25	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach Great! The beach is not the best for swimming, but the pool is nice and clean and looks directly out onto the ocean. The rooms are large and clean with good A/C. Very friendly and helpful staff and a cheap resturant with yummy food. I would recommend staying here, especially if you want to be away from the hustle of the full-moon beach.	Fantastic, quick response.
Margita Boij 2005-02-06 until 2005-02-12	Bankai Orchid Resort, Koh Phangan, Bankai Beach The bungalow was very nice, big room with balcony and the sea view, exact like the one on Bankai Orchid Resorts home page. And that’s about all we got for the money we paid. The rest one read about this sc Resort is not correct. The openings hours was about 9.00 am, or when some guest ring the bell, to order some breakfast. There was just one small swimming pool, and not functional Jacuzzi. Pool table or table tennis doesn’t exist – the books and other things was laying there. The beach wasn’t clean, and if you have seen that beach on the afternoon, you will never swim there in the morning. People who are running this plays don’t know the meaning of the word - service. We didn’t feel welcome at all, we felt like intruders. We were spouse to stay 2 weeks, but left after 6 days...	very good but disappointed that Sawadee didn’t check this hotel before they recommended
Naomi Hands 2005-01-27 until 2005-01-29	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach Hotel was beautiful, however, staff were total dampener on stay in Koh Phangan. Upon arrival we had to yell for someone to come help us and we were unwelcomed by someone who would not talk to us at all. Very weird experience, there was an older gentleman there though who was really nice. FYI, this is NOT 2.5kms from Haad Rin. It is quite far up the mountain and very hard to get to after a few drinks in the main town!	Great! No problems!
Sarah McHugh 2004-11-26 until 2004-11-29	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach The place was nice but the staff were terrible, we had called the night before to explain we couldnt make it as there was a typhoon so there were no boats running and they said that was fine and the deposit would just be taken of the days would could get there for however when we arrived they said we had to pay for the days we hadnt stayed as well and were very unhelpful. The staff were so lazy it was shocking, no one picked us up, there was never any staff around at all the place seemed deserted. Our room wasnt cleaned in the whole stay and although it was okay it was extremely over priced and the rooms were badly maintained. Also the beach is almost non existant, there is a lot of rubbish lying around and there was some building work going on. I would not stay here again.	This was fine.

laura chow 2004-10-25 until 2004-10-26	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach beautiful resort and location but the worst most horrible service. we were not picked up at the pier, and there was nobody at the reception on arrival for 1/2 hour. we got a hold of the cleaning staff who then called the receptionist by cell phone which took 1/2 hour to arrive as there was nom phone there. The receptionist did not understand our booking and did not believe that we had paid already even though we had the receipt and voucher. the staff drove away to find their manager and left us alone at the hotel for another 2 hours without water in the hot sun to wait for them to come back. there was nobody present to even buy water or food from as it was so remote and all the staff (all 2 of them) left. The service was absolutely terrible and we were dehydrated, upset and when the reservation was confirmed and validated by the manager. Even at that time, they did not offer us any water or any apologies. we were there only overnight and 2.5 - 3 hours were spent waiting for the staff to verify the booking and we wasted the entire day. the shower was broken and likely had been for sometime, the hose was broken in several places and spraying in all directions, when told,the staff did not seem to care. plus there were bugs on the floor of the bathroom. we got a lift to the pier but we were very dissatisfied. the breakfast included was also not very tasty. the resort, grounds, view, beach and pool are beautiful and have a lot of potential, the rooms are large, clean and airconditioned but for the service, the overall experience was poor.	Booking service was okay but hotel had no knowledge and took 3 hours of waiting in hot sun with no help, water, food before we were given a room. they did not have phone or internet on site and had to drive away to find the reservation.
Benny 2004-09-27 until 2004-09-30	Bankai Orchid Resort, Bankai Beach The Bankai Orchid is a wonderful resort with beautiful views of the sunset and surrounding areas. The bungalow I stayed in was very well maintained, luxurious, comfortable and spacious but at an affordable price. The staff were friendly and were helpful. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.	This booking service is efficient, responsive and simple to use. I would recommend this to anyone.
