Emmanuel Laureys 2009-03-28	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach Nice hotel with nice huts and very helpful people. The only things is that they never clean the huts while you are there. You always have to ask before they clean it. Very loud in the morning as the fishermen get up at 5h00 and start their boats right in front of your hut.
Pia Petersson 2009-01-15	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach We stayed 3 nights in a bungalow with AC and hot water. It s not worth the money! You can only have hot water when AC has been on 16 degrees Celcius for 1 hour! Then it s too cold to be inside. ANd the hot water is only enough for one person. The other bungalows might be worth the price. Mae Had is nice.

Ashwath Sundaresan 2009-01-03	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach This hotel is owned by a very bad man. During our time at the resort, 4 people were drowning. I asked to grab the life jackets and the owner leyt us. However after the whole debacle, the life jackets were lost and the owner made us pay for them. Also we booked for a ferry from Koh Phanang to Surat Thani at 7 in the morning. We paid our ticket fare to the owner. He gave us no ticket and said that we just had to mention his hotel name to the boat man once we got to the pier. After we reached the pier, the boat man refused us entry and we had to re purchase tickets. Absolute rubbish of a place as it is also very far from Harin Beach where full moon party is.	Sawadee is a great site.
Marg 2009-01-02	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach I stayed in a standard bungalow, which is pretty small. There was a leak in the bathroom sink which got worse every time the tap was turned on. The room felt very damp, the sheets felt damp, made it a little uncomfortable to sleep. The decor in the bungalows is very average. The restaurant is great, staff are friendly, they also have a souvenir shop. The atmosphere is nice in the evenings at the restauran/bar. The major downside was the actual bungalow.	No problems with booking.
Pamela Cullen 2008-12-26	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach No Complaints whatsoever, we wanted to stay longer but they were booked out, (we were already there 10 nights) if you want to absolutely just chill out this is the place to be!	Great I always us them
Emiko maeda 2008-11-19	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach disaster. dead and live cockroaches constantly reappearing in our bathroom. our fan room was beyond sweltering and room was moldy and stuffy. extremely overpriced. when we informed the man in charge that we would be leaving the following day and would like our money back for the next night (we had reserved two nights stay and paid both upon arrival), he refused. this escalated into a heated argument, at which resulted in him making us leave immediately ( it was after 9:30 pm, which in that area may have been 3 am) in order to get our money for the following night. another couple who was staying and paying 800 baht for an a/c room also reported cockroaches. we moved to haad salad villa on the next beach and stayed for a week. much recommended.	booking service great. but perhaps drop this so called resort .
Sheena Hembrador 2008-11-15	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach Other people we spoke to seemed to have a fine time here, but for us, our one night there was the worst experience of our 6 month trip. I m not sure if we just had bad luck, if the manager is just a jerk, or if it really is a bad place - you be the judge. The food tasted good, but my boyfriend woke up at 4am with severe stomach pains an nausea. We had only eaten at this hotel the entire day, so we were sure that Royal Orchid was the source of the bad food. In addition to that, I woke up with a rash completely covering my arms and legs. Later, after I took my boyfriend to the hospital for food poisoning, the doctor told me that the rash was probably due to ticks in the bed/room. After seeing the doctor and admitting my boyfriend to the hospital, I called Royal Orchid and asked them to send a taxi for me. In spite of the pouring rain outside, the manager flatly refused to send a taxi because he said he wouldn t earn any money for that trip, and he urged me to stand out in the rain and hail a taxi. That was the last straw, after that I found another place and moved. After my boyfriend recovered, we went back to try to get a refund for the days we already paid for, but didn t end up staying there for. Surprise, surprise, the manager refused to refund. Eventually we called a rep at Sawadee,com who contacted the owner, and we were able to get reimbursed for 50% of the extra nights we paid for. Oh well, half is better than nothing	Great, fast, very helpful

VIP AC bungalows well equipped. Staff very courteous, English speaking, friendly to our entire family. Food good. Standard services. Would definitely return!	Very efficient and professional.

Dirty and smell really bad (toillet) in the room, holes in the wall....We reserv for 3 days but after one we just left. Beach is not pretty lots of rock and no white sand. Dont go there if you whant to have a greate holliday

You must remember every day that the bungalow must cleaned. This is no good. My Bungalow with air/con and Tv (never watching it)but no freeze. Breakfast not inclused. Many expansive for service. Overall we got what we paid for, our beach bungalow was £14.00 per night. However, no hot water and the bathrooms were a bit shabby. Overall the staff were friendly and the food was good. This resort is in quite a remote area so if you want bars and shops then stay further south as taxi s are less frequent in this direction and can end up costing you a fortune.	Booking fine, no problems whatsoever

( laundry cleaning was good as well ) We would like to come back very soon, BIG HUG and Greatings from Germany	very easy, fast, we can highly recoment
Peter Rommelse 2006-08-10 until 2006-08-15	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach We were with a group of 11 people and stayed in 5 bungalows next to eachother. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good as well, especially given the very reasonable prices over there. The only problems we faced were the distance to the port and the poor quality of the rental cars. For people looking for a good, cheep and quiet place to stay on Koh Phangan we highly recommend this resort.	Booking via Sawadee.com was easy and quickly confirmed. (as in previous experiences for myself)
Shane 2006-08-09 until 2006-08-12	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach We did have a probem with the booking. Our booking was in Koh Phangan from Aug. 11th to the 12th. We wanted to stay longer at the Royal Orchid Resort so we changed and confirmed the new dates with Sawadee.com. We changed it to Aug. 9th-12th with the same confirmation we got back from Sawadee.com. So Sawadee.com confirmed our stay. However when we got there one of the staff became a problem for us along with our booking dates. We gave him our confirmation but he said he only had the old reservation(11th-12th) and not the new one(9th-12th). So he gave our room away for those days and then sent us to his friends place up the road. Before I went up the road, I asked him to call Sawadee to see what was the problem. His friends place had no AC, no toliet paper, had many bugs, and no ocean view which I wanted. So I got my money back from his friend and moved into the Mae Haad Resort next door to the Royal Orchid, which had AC, TV and did not have problems with bugs and had great service. However, his friends place was far down the road and of course his friend did not help us take our bags back down the road. The bags were heavy so I took the light bags while my girlfriend waited with the heavy ones down the road. I ask for help from the Royal Orchid employee to help me bring the bags back and he didn t respond to me and kept talking to his friends. So I went to help my girlfriend with the bags because he wasn t going to help us. After we got our bags back down the road into the new resort bugalows I went to talk to him again. I asked him if he had called Sawadee yet, and he said no. So I asked for a refund of the money and to cancel our stay he had for us for the 11th-12th. I understand that the deposit is non-refundable but because he had gave our reservation away I just wanted to get our money back. He then became irrate with me and told me to call Sawadee, I said I didnt have a phone or internet access so of course I couldn t. I then just smiled, said thank, please cancel my reservation and walked away. He then yelled at me as I walked away saying that he only had reservation for the 11th-12th. I didn t say anything more. In short, they didn t honor our reservation and thier service was absent.	no problems. service was fast and great

Room was too cramped, bed uncomfortable, bathroom crawling with geckos and even spotted a small centipede once. Dresser mirror had obviously not been cleaned. Worst of all was the stench of sewage that seemed to emanate from somewhere near our hut. We were forced to sleep with our door open to help the air circulate. At least Maehaad beach is safe enough for that. Door to our hut didn t even lock properly. Only plus points go to the extra friendly staff!

The rooms are clean, water is always hot, tv has a good movie channel for those rainy nights in. A/c room for 600 is an absolute bargain, the food at the restaurant is cheap also and decent. Bikes can be hired if you want to go to other places like hat salat. Not a party place though but a good place to crash and relax. Also loads of dive boats go to ko ma where people snorkel around so if you are into that it should be good for you too.	no problems booking
Loh Shih Chung 2006-05-13 until 2006-05-15	Royal Orchid Resort, Maehaad Beach I had a pleasant stay at the Royal Orchid. It has an idylic view of the sea, and just a stone s throw from the corals of Koh Ma, plus other nearby convenience stores. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, the toilet was clean, excellent value for money. The only drawback is it is pretty far from the full moon party, but the resort does arrange for taxi services to & back. Defintely a great place for a quiet beach holiday.	Excellent! Easy and quick response, the website provided just about the necessary information, and this feedback method is really useful to tourists too.

Nicely layed out to ensure every bungalow has a view of the sea. A minute walk away to Mae Had Beach. Good choice of eating places and bars around the resort. Bungalow cleaned every 3 days. Nice helpful female staff.	Excellent and efficient

Det var ganska smutsigt runt omkring bungalowsområdet, Rummen var ok, små men fungerade, endast kallvatten i duscharna, kranen till handfatet trasig fick ta in en slang utefrån. Endast en handuk som täcke. fick betala för toa papperet.Det nyaste var AC anläggningen. Vi trivdes bra, maten var ok. Överpris för denna standard. Vi bodde på ett annat ställe First Villa (underbart ställe) och betalade samma pris som Royal. Royal var rena stenåldern jämfört First Villa. Men stranden och vyerna runt omkring Royal var bättre. It is ok to stay a couple of days. It was little dirty around the resort.The beach and the view was OK. We were 15 persons toghether and the children liked it. The price is to high for the standard. The food was ok. Tai massage outside the door, verygood. They installed internet at the restaurant when were there. We could him (The owner) for MR Happy he said always when we asked for something, if your are happy I am happy. So we where happy! We were the biggest family Mr happy got at his resort ever.
