Leeza Yeo 2009-05-03	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach for the price we paid, its brutally overcharged. the staff are not friendly. this hotel makes you feel like you are not in thailand at all. everything is run as if you are in germany. they are not flexible n not willing to even let you have one hour late check out. the breakfast for the amount i paid is really really bad. for this amount, we could stay in KL Hilton and have excellent service, room and breakfast. i will never go back to this hotel.	good

Fiona Dodkins 2008-03-31 until 2008-04-02	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach This hotel is on the best side of Koh Tao - right on Sairee Beach. Turn left by the swimming pool ad walk along to all of the beach bars - some party atmosphere and some a little more chilled. Staff were friendly, although their english wasn t so good! We had a deluxe pirate beachfront cottage which was right on the beach. The standard of accommadation is a little primitive and certianly not 4 or 5 star, but the room was clean (and cleaned every day) and towels replaced every day. Only had 3 beds around the pool, but we really came to this island to dive (and were not disappointed to see a 7m Whale Shark at Green Rock for our 60 minute dive!). Great location, just wish we would have stayed longer (we ll come back for at least a week next year!).	Fab as usual

During our stay in Thailand we stayed at 3 different resorts but even if this was the most expensive one, we find it to have the lowest standard. We stayed in a bungalow with 2 bedrooms close to the swimming pool. We joined a snorkling trip arranged by the diving group at the resort and this was very good. We can recommend it to everybody! It is also recommended to try the taxiboat. It was much cheaper to eat at Koh Tao compared to Koh Samui. We enjoid our stay but as said before, it was a little bit expensive. The resort was on a quiet part of the beach, and this was great.	Great

Nice bungalows but a little bit worn out. Bungalow cleaned every day. Good Thai food in restaurant. Breathtaking surroundings Negative: Bad timing in restaurant, do not like to get starter, main and desert at same time. But this is generall all over Thailand, i think!? The barbecue evening can not be recomended. Narrow beach, and not so clear water during our stay. Pool was occupied by divers (beginners in training). Cockroaches in bathroom, found two big fat ones! Overall: I can recomend this Resort! We enjoyed our stay. I can highly recomend to visit Nangyuna Island. About 10 minutes by Long tail. But go before 10 AM, in order to find the best spot on the beach in front of Japanese Garden. 200B p/p two way from the Resort, if i recall! And 100B p/p to visit the Island. Wonderfull beach, do not miss that! And bring your snorkel, diving-mask and bread to feed the fish!	Booking, payment and confirmation worked out excellent and fast.
Eoin Scully 2007-03-23 until 2007-03-25	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach Everyone traveling to Koh Tao is aware that the facilities are more primitive than what many tourists expect. The Coral Grand is no exception. Although the resorts pimps itself as one of the more high end Koh Tao resorts (which is largely true) however it is still pretty primitive for the money they are charging per room. The shower water is drippy and the power goes out between 5 & 5:30pm each day. In addition the food and service in the restaurant is terrible. Having said that the resort is in an idilic corner of sairee beach which makes up for much of the downside. If you are staying here eat at the restaurant up on the rocks to the right end of the beach (wish I could remember the name) where the food, service and view are excellent. Also be careful of online con artists posing as this resort such as this one here which caused me untold problems http://www.kohtaoluxury.com/ this particular website looks exactly like the resort but the people behind this site are agents trying to flog the resort to you and make a commision. That would not be such a bad thing if it were not for the fact the they also try to flog you ferry tickets that cost three times the price of regular pierside tickets.	Fine no problems at all.
Vivi-Ann & Dennis 2007-03-05 until 2007-03-08	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach We had 3 great days at Coral Grand Resort,the beach and the restaurant was very good!The sunsets were beautiful!We thought that the bungalow could have been more clean,especially the roof in the bathroom..(Superior cottage a/c)But that is not a big thing.We enjoyed our stay,and we will recommend this place.	Perfect.

Service for the rooms excellent. Food in restaurant very varied with wonderful buffet breakfast. Background music just right. The beach front was superb with tropical swaying palms leading into crystal clear azure water. Enjoyed our time here and hopefully will be back
Jason Platts 2007-01-26 until 2007-02-04	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach Coral Grand is a great choice in Koh Tao. Myself & girlfriend just enjoyed a beautiful romantic holiday there & it was hard to fault. Yes, the island is mostly known for diving, & there are many dive schools & dive-tour businesses...the Coral Greand dive school is located on premises & is excellent offering beginner upto advanced PADI tickets as expected. But the rest of the CG resort is fantastic also. Not the cheapest on the island, but for westerners looking for a bit of luxury it s spot on. Not for teenagers/backpackers at all, many families with kids (maybe not your scene, but the Thai s are great with kids & they didn t annoy us). A lot of Europeans & not many Americans...nice types, but kinda straight if you dig (we re pretty fun orienteed Aussies & love to make a friend or two on our travels). We stayed in a Superior Sailors Cottage which was a great self-contained space. Don t expect the Hilton on this island ok, or you will be dissapointed. it is as good as you get or even want on a casual hi-class vacation...don t listen to the whingers...clean, made-up daily, hot water limited (but its hot & you don t need too much hot water), power off for 1/2 hr daily but not much inconvenience, nice balcony, huge comfy beds, cable tv, drinking water & tea/coffee provided daily, the odd cute gecko & a few stray dogs about, but they are quite friendly & we came to adore one of them! overall 4 & 1/2 stars from me & i would go back to CG if i intend on visiting Koh Tao again. Koh Tao overall is still beautiful & a paradise for sure, but like most of Thailand it is hardly a little secret anymore & id get there in the next 12 months b4 it really goes the way of Samui & is over-run by fat tragic tourists!	after much research, sawadee.com is THE superior, low fuss internet booking service for Thailand. i have used it several times... fast, accurate & most importantly, accepted without question from all the major hotels

THE DIVE MASTER?INSTRUCTOR WAS PUSHING PEOPLE DOWN ANCHOR ROPE & ELBOWED ME IN THE FACE, ALMOST KNOCKING OUT MY REG.. IN HIS HAST TO SEE MY AIR GAUGE.THERE ARE OTHER DIVE OPERATORS ON THE ISLAND, (ie.. BIG BLUE) THE RESORT IS VERY,VERY NICE,STAFF ARE VERY,VERY NICE,PROBABLY A LITTLE OVER PRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET,BUT IT IS ON A SMALL ISLAND WITH LIMITED INFRUSTRUCTURE & SUPPLIES MUST BE BROUGHT IN BY BAOT. THE RESAURANT AT THE BEACH(HAPPY SNAPPER) IS QUITE GOOD,THEY CAN MAKE FOOD QUITE SPICY IF ASKED!! THERE ARE OTHER RESTAURANTS ALONG BEACH. DISAPPOINTED IN CORAL DIVERS!!	I WAS HAPPILLY SATISFIED

ELBOWED ME IN THE FACE,NEARLY KNOCKING OUT MY REGULATOR, IN HIS HAST TO READ MY PRESSURE GAUGE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THAT WAS MY LAST DAY OF DIVING WITH CORAL GRAND DIVERS. THEY DOESN T DIVE EVERY DAY! SEEMS TO CATER TO CHARTERED DIVE GROUPS. SO IF YOU RE 1 OR 2 DIVERS, SOME DAYS THEY WON T DIVE.THERE ARE OTHER SCUBA OPERATORS ON THE ISLAND,(ie.BIG BLUE DIVING). THE RESORT IT SELF WAS VERY,VERY NICE, THE PEOLPE WERE VERY VERY NICE. POSSIBLE A LITTLE OVER PRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET, BUT IT IS ON A SMALL ISLAND WITH LIMITED INFRUSTRUCTURE,AND SUPPLIES HAVE TO BE BROUGHT IN BY BOAT. Steer Manuel 2006-07-17 until 2006-07-20	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach allez, un pti comment en FR :) niveau hotel, il est sympas, les sailors superiors room (ce que j ai pris) sont spacieuses, assez originales de part leur architecture, pas grand chose a en redire. La picine par contre, on ne voyait pas le fond tellement l eau etait sale, berk donc! La plage est nickel, super sympas de s y promenerle soir. La mer est superbe, attention aux marrées, car lorsqu elle es tbasse, dificile de faire trempette tant l eau y est peut profonde., sinon, le snorkeling est de rigeur. Le service a été irreprochable par contre, j ai ete impressioné par leur serviabilite.	tout bon, j ai reservé 4 hotels avec sawadee, PERFECT

We had a bungalow with AC, this was better than only fan, because it´s getting very hot in the wooden bungalows. Very friendly staff, great breakfast with a fantastic view at the beach. And the pool is near the beach, big and good for swimming!	very easy and without any problems

Jagadish 2005-04-30 until 2005-05-02	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach Bunch of minimal size units crammed together in a very small space. Policies are also not very friendly (e.g. pool closes at 8 p.m., but pool/beach towels must be returned by 6 p.m.; there are little plastic cards, one per person, used to check out towels, and a 500 Baht charge if this is lost, ... ). The rooms were clean, the beds were firm, the phone and TV did work, so there is really nothing really wrong with the hotel. Just that I felt one could do much better for the money we were paying. E.g. several neighboring resorts were much nicer looking and cheaper. I heartily recommend Coral Grand Divers, the dive shop at this hotel (but independently owned). Their boats and equipment looked a lot nicer than that of most of the other companies I saw. Their guides were enthusiastic, and attitude one of overcoming problems and giving everyone a good time.	Fine. Sawadee didn t know about the free transfer from ferry dock provided by Coral Grand. I heard about it and requested it, and at first Sawadee said this wasn t included. But to their credit, within a few hours they sent a follow up email confirming pick up.

The heat was intense with less of a breeze than where we were on Samui. The food was OK and the pool was way to warm (not at all refreshing ), but in general the hotel was nice. The dive center was efficient, helpful, and prompt ... unfortunatley the visibility for diving was very poor - obviously out of the hands of the hotel. The Grand Coral did seem to be one of the nicest places to stay on Koh Tao.	We had absolutely NO problems with Sawadee.com - what a fantastic resource!
Cindy Mclaughlin 2005-02-02 until 2005-02-07	Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach the first night we were there we stayed in a superior bungalow really nice, but expensive. the rest of the time we were in a standard fan bungalow, bungalow is amazing, good size but there is no hot water, no tv and no mini fridge. we didn t really care about the tv, but hot water and fridge, when it s 32 degrees out and you just can t wait to get a cold bottle of water from your fridge, but now again just a detail.... the resort is really nice and the staff are really nice too.	no problems with the bookings at all, excellent service

This may be due to the island being very small and resorts not being geared towards high-end travel. It did seem nicer than most of the other resorts nearby and did have a pool. The bungalow was average size and the bathrooms were open air. The grounds are fairly nice. Our only real complaint is that the restaurant was not very good and the service at the restaurant was poor. Also there were flies all in the kitchen and on the food. The main reason that we chose this resort was for the dive center which exceeded our expectations. I would still recommend the resort if you want a resort with a pool. They also kept the beach in front of the resort really clean. I would just recommend eating at other restaurants.

The beach is fantastic and Coral Grand have the most wonderful Beach Bar with cheap food and excellent service.
