Disappointing by all means. I could simply say this hotel does not reaches our minimum standards -which I need to believe- but it s far beyond that... No room service, no english spoken by ANYONE at all... Smell around like you weren t in a hotel, but a butchering site and at the restaurant, the flies could lift you up!!! The infrastructure itself is totally abandon and the humidity is not only obvious but on the air to breath it 24/7... not healthy! We will definitely won t go back and most definitely NOT recommend it! This commentaries are based on our stay at the main building, since there weren t available bungalows... however, I saw about 90% of the people packing and leaving for good before 8:00am... ???

The people at Sawadee -specially Ms Bow- are always great and friendly!... Is just that your description of the hotel and its facilities does not reflect what we saw!

We have stayed 5 days in February, at the Chumphon Cabana Resort and we really enjoyed our stay. There is a big park around the resort with many trees and there is a beautiful beach. It is a very quiet place. The buffet breakfast is good with international and thai food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants nearby. We reccommend this place.

Booking with Sawadee.com is very easy and efficient.

we stayed in the hotel in 2007 and loved it - so came back this year. The place is wonderful, very quiet. beautiful, beach (unfortunately with millions of sandflies), breakfast is very good, staff not too friendly but okay. We stayed in a Garden Bungalow which was quiet okay - nothing special. I think we wouldn t come back.

perfect

Nice and clean hotel in beautiful jungle surrounding with lots of palmtrees, other trees and green areas. The staff was very helpfull and serviceminded. Great breakfast buffé in the restaurant that is right on the beach. The hotel have there own beachchairs under palmtrees in the shade. overall a nice and quiert place to spend a few days.

great hotel. We had a cheap room but it was still light and clean, and with a good view of the pool. and the pool was massive, and clean. also a lovely quiet beach at the end chumpon cabana was at, but with kite surfing and other watersports if you walk further up the beach. really helpful polite staff, and the restaurant was great to

Very nice small resort which all builidings are situated in the green. The beach is perfect, the water is clear, perfect for swimming. The room is basic but comfortable. They grow everything, farming, using non-chemical to everything including washing and cleaning, very impresive that they do not buy things at all. They have lovely team in the diving center. The dive site here is good. Clear water (20m visibility, average depth 18m) , many fish, many things to see. The staff is friendly. Sadly that the place have problem with the flies, it really bother you at the dining table. Also, the sand bugs, please make sure you got the anti-bug skin spray on the beach. Good place, not many tourist, the beach is basically for you. a few basic bars on the beach, only 1 store at the end of the beach road. very safe even walking at night, the village people is nice and no harm. definitely coming back :)

quick and no problem as usual.

We last stayed at this hotel 6 years ago, and it really doesn t appear that much has happened in between. It really could do with a spruce up. Environment is still good, pool is still good but it is just tired and the staff lack the energy to keep it up to standard. But the real problem this time was the food....on our last visit it had been great but this time it rated as the worst experienced at a hotel in Thailand. Even the rice was badly cooked (cold, re-heated).

Booking service is still great.

We had a great time, the hotel is very like a national parks type set up, very comfortable if you compare value for money and have no complaints what so ever and will return in the future, based on other comments it does help if you have your own transport as the hotel is very laid back and there is not a lot to do in the immediate area, but once again thanks for a great stay

Excellent no complaints what so ever, thank You

As we arrived at Lompaya Pier with Vip bus from Hua Hin we found out that there is no taxi service to Chumpong nor Cabana Beach. Only a smiling bus driver who offered a trip back to Chumpong for 500 Bath, the same guy who refused to stop in town. Luckily I called the hotel 20 minutes before arrival to the pier and asked for pick up. It worked wonderfully. We had a smiling driver from Cabana coming 5 minutes after arrival and were at Cabana 40 minutes later, 300 bath/person. Next time we will go by train first class. It will be cheaper and faster all together. Reception at Cabana was nice friendly and efficient with make first impression very positive also with the nice big garden surrounding the hotel. We got a room with nice view over garden and the big swimming pool. The hotel was build in 1982 and according to the standard of the room has not been renovated since then. There was a smell of fungis and the walls and roof showed big marks of water leakage. The shower was good and shampoo and bath gel of excellent quality. The bed was hard and furniture run down but the garden and swimming pool made it up. We spent 3 nights there and that was enough for us. In 2 days we had seen and walked the beach, garden and village . The small shop was nice and the massage was good. The restaurant staff was very friendly but had some difficulties to get our orders right. The menu was typical Thai and prices reasonable. The beach was clean as was the water.

We booked via the net and it worked but they missed our pick up request in the confirmation. We paid 1200 Bath for the room and found out the room rate in other hotels along the beach was 800 for same standard of rooms.

Nice and quiet resort - no action, perfect for relaxation. Very few people on a beautiful beach. Hotel offers good service. Try to get a Superior Bungalow rather than a room in the normal hotel building - it s much more up to date and in good condition. Getting to Chumphon town is for Thai standards very expensive (THB 150 per person). Be careful when walking along the beach, there are some sandflies which bite.

Excellent, reliable service.

A nice resort. Another year we spend two days in a bungalow, this time two nights in a room in one of the buildings. Very clean and with a big balcony. The resort has a big swimmingpool. The beach is very quiet and large. There are no beds to lay on on the beach. Its a great beach to walk. The breakfast buffet is at the beach with nice view over the see. A great place for them who son t like crowded places.

Good value for money. We originally booked one of the bungalows but for our second visit downgraded to a standard room in one of the blocks. Reason for change being that the bungalows are very tired and badly in need of some serious renovation. Also they are built on top of one another so privacy is minimal at best. Lovely unspoilt beach, large and interesting grounds, passable breakfast and a sizeable (if unspiring oblong) pool all make this resort excellent value for 1,200 Baht per night. Additionally there are a good half dozen restaurants and bars - some of them quite good - within easy walking distance.

Very good. No problems at all.

Hotel is run down, food is ok, reception staff is nice and helpful. Restaurant staff is not up to standards of a hotel, not to say they are unpolite. Ended our stay early.

Well, as we arrived in the early morning I just thought, let s leave again! The place and the hotel is not as nice as shown on the website at all! But I must say, it is very clean! The pick up service of the hotel forgot to pick us up at the station. But with no problem they gave us a the refund of what we payed with the booking. The restaurant is nice and the food good, but the service staff is the best! They are so nice and when I lost my credit card at the beach, they would all help me searching until we found it! They are lovely! The service staff on the reception was not as friendly though. Somehow they always acted in a defensive way even when I just asked for something. In the end I would say, if you have plenty of time, stay there for a night or two (but not longer) and if your trip is rather short, skip it!!

Good, though pick up service did not work out

Nice location, nice beach. Nice garden at the hotel, big swimming-pool. Hotel restaurant is good. friendly people. Rooms and bathrooms in the main building are o.k., but they have the best times behind them. They need some renovation. Bungalows perhabs better for a longer stay, but not seen inside.

We only had five nights at this resort, we wished that we could have stayed longer. We didn t want to leave. Our bungalow was very comfortable and plenty spacious enough for the two of us. Having the devan sofa in the lounging area means that you could easily accommodate a third person. Just a couple of negative points: The exterior of the bungalows could do with a spruce up and we wish that the garden area between bungalows was planted rather better, because it spoils the views you get from the many bungalow windows. The rest of the gardens and all the public areas are a well maintained delight. The pool is lovely and big, but the water was pretty cloudy and dosed heavily with chlorine. The food and service was excellent and drinks were reasonably priced. We telephone booked the hotel s taxi service to collect and later deliver us to the rail station. It was prompt and comfortable. The beach is an endless crescent of silver sand. Well cleaned in front of the resort. The sea a crystal aqua blue. The most magical and memorable part of our four weeks in Thailand was the snorkling trip to Spike Islands. A truly wonderful day. Just one bit of advice - don t go when there are lots of non-swimmers going on the trip (usually at weekends). All you will get is dozens of thrashing arms and legs in life jackets scaring the fish off. We wish that the resort was still able to offer the 2/3 person kayaks to borrow. They are there by the beach, but no longer in use. We want to return to Chumphon Cabana.

No problems with the internet booking. It was easy and straightforward. When we arrived at the resort we were expected and welcomed.

Though the bungalows could do with a fresh layer of paint we had no complaints about this resort. It has an amazing garden in which we spent hours discovering all sorts of species of both plants and animals. The beach is beautiful and, at least in front of the resort, always clean. It was great to get a breakfast that dared to stray away from the conventional American or Continental by also offering freshly made Khanom Krob or juices. We ll be back!
