About the hotel: A once beautiful guest house that needs some tlc to make it good again. Rooms are clean,spacious and adequate with a/c, tv and good bathroom.The establishment as a whole looks tired and various areas need re-painting and tidying up. The Art Palace is in a great location overlooking the lake and ocean but a motorbike or jeep is strongly adviseable to get around the island. Would be way too far to walk into Chaweng from this accommadation.The current managers of Art Palace are fabulous. They are both friendly, attentive, welcoming and give you that personnal touch that a big resort establishment would usually fail. They made our first stay on Koh Samui a good experience,e.g, giving us backround info on what bars are good, where to eat and places of interest to visit. Overall, a nice stay in a quiet location in accommadation that needs updating ( maybe taking the art out of Palace),an overall repaint inside and out and more attention to detail,e.g getting new outdoor furniture to breathe new life into a tired looking Palace.
About the reservation service: Overcharged for our 7 night stay - almost double the price that it should have been!! Thanks to manager of hotel who realised this was incorrect tarrif and e-mailed you directly. Thank you for quick response/refund. About the hotel: we loved this hotel it was so much fun you feel like part of the family the staff if great we went to koh taen for the day with all the guests the owner and the staff and had a great time very relaxing!The hotel itself is so beautiful great pool clean rooms and brilliant staff!i would definately recommend staying here for anyone who wants to enjoy themselves in koh samui oh and there cocktails are great!!!!!!
About the hotel: We booked in the Art Palace for five nights but booked out after only staying two nights. We had problems with the leaking water, water supply, safe in room, very bad TV reception, if any, swimming pool and building construction. The place is a Guest House and not a hotel, which is a very long way from the beach if you do not have a car. It is up a very steep hill and the Guest house has many many stairs and no lift, so anyone with health problems will be in real trouble. Although the site does not mention this. It was shabby and in need of refurbishment or refreshing. Although the staff were very helpful and nice people, the lack of the rest of the facilities did not make up for this.
About the reservation service: The booking service was good, the hotel charged an extra night as we booked out early. We are still waiting for Sawadee to refund two nights, which I am sure they will as we have had no problem with them in the past.
About the hotel: Went there and saw the new managers - Patrick & Sandra, who are very friendly & showed us great hospitality! Had a very pleasant stay and feels totally at home. Rooms are clean and if you need anything, just inform them and they are there to help! Atotally different experience from those conventional hotels.
About the hotel: One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Natalie and her staff made my friends and I feel like family. I was truly sorry to leave the Art Palace to go home. The rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly and the location great! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
