This hotel has the potential to be perfect. We had a good time but I think the staff need to relax and enjoy themselves and make the guests feel more special. Some renovations in group spaces would be a good idea and a bar.

Lovely hotel, rooms very clean with good facilities, and the private beach is great. The manager was always around to help out with any queries and was very kind to allow us to use a room to freshen up even after we had checked out ( we had a very late flight home). It was lovely to sit at the pool/beach bar and watch the sun go down in the evening

Very easy, fast and the SMS reservation confirmation is a great service!

Baan Bophut is a lovely hotel. It feels very secluded and private. Rooms very lovely and very clean. The hotel is right on the beach and a short walk from bars, shops and restaurants. The staff were so friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again!

Booked efficiently and promotly with Sawedee!

Lovely boutique hotel. Very friendly staff who were happy to offer suggestions as to what to do and where to go on Koh Samui. There is building work going on next door so I d advise requesting one of the rooms furthest away.

Great site, easy to use.

Hotel was in a great location, great pool, nice beach, and helpful staff. The only issues we had was the bad smell of sewerage that would drift through the room and the very slow free wi-fi - seemed to about only slightly more than dial-up speed. Also don t expect the wifi to work in any room except the ones right near reception.

easy to use and reliable

Very good hotel and good value for money and also very good food, and a good price relative to other restaurants in the town. Nicely located too.

This is a nice hotel which is in a good location. We booked the penthouse , but to be honest was a little dissapointed for the money. All the other rooms had nice big seaview balconies with comfy chairs...and the pentouse gets a standing room only balcony...would have been better off in a Seaview Hotel room. The hotel is only a 3 min walk to the heart of Bophut where there are a variety of eating places...but only a few offer true Thai food all the others are westernized Thai dishes and western food. We rented a motorcycle from the hotel for only 250Bt per day which was great...good way to see the place. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating...pool is nice...ocean was nice...little outdoor bar was nice...would thoroughly reccomend this hotel...is good

Fantastic...not a single concern...thanks :)

Is a nice hotel...though we paid for the penthouse but were a little dissappointed. All the cheaper rooms had big balconies with sun chairs and we had a tiny standing room only balcony...a bit dissaapointing. The room is big though, but I would prefer a balcony. The staff are very friendly and nothing was ever a problem. You can hire motorcylce from the hotel at 250BT per day :) The hotel is a very easy 3 minute walk into the main area of Bophut...heaps of restuarants and little shops. Overall were happy with the hotel and location...thanks:)

Excellent...fast and very reliable

Fantasctic place to stay ! Bophut beach is the best part of Samui and the Baan Bophut is a very nice and peacefull hotel with a great private beach. The hotel is new and offers all that you need (AC, fantactic view, restaurant etc). The quality is very good for the price. Be sure that you will love this place ! Lastly, the English owner (Lucy) and the staff are all VERY nice !

Our favourite place on Ko Samui to-date! Baan Bophut is a real haven and perfect for couples who just want to relax. With a no child policy and staff for whom nothing is too much, this english managed hotel is idyllic. Situated in Fisherman s Village both shops and restaurants are easily accessible on foot. The rooms are large, well-equipped, cleaned daily with very comfy beds. We shall definitely return!

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
We only stayed for one night in May. Because of the heavy rains earlier, the pool was out of use and beach by the hotel is not good for swimming, we checked out earlier than planned. There was also electricity black out for three hours and no water when we arrived. Hotel owner was very nice and polite. Rooms were beautiful and beds very comfortable. We upgraded our rooms to seaview when we arrived, and maybe because of that the rooms were not clean. Bophut beach was very quiet during low-season, it might be better stay during high-season. Nice restaurants nearby the hotel.

Everything OK. It s good to be able to only pay deposit, not the whole stay in advance.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
This is the second time we have stayed at the Baan Bophut, and both times have been exceptional. Lucy and Johnny once again made us very welcome, and their manager, Tic, was an absolute sweetie - he went out of his way to organise a romantic dinner on the beach for us, and gave Mark some very handy fishing tips!! The beds are without doubt the most comfortable on the island, the rooms are very clean and very spacious, the location of the hotel is fantastic, being just a couple of minutes walk to the fab bars and restaurants of the Fishermans Village, and only 10 minutes by cab to Chaweng. The views from the balcony are breathtaking, and it is the perfect place to stay if you want to get away from it all and relax, but still have everything you could ever want more or less on your doorstep! We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody....... Thanks guys, see you again next year!!!

No problems at all

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
The hotel is very nice, I stayed in seaview room. It s simple but confortable!! Swimming pool and beach area are small, but right for the guests. Breakfast very good. Bophut area and Fisherman s village are really quite but with all facilities and close to all actrations (Big Buddha,Koh Phangan by boat). The beach in not so clean as in Chaweng and there is some rocks, but it s a little bit windy... Koh Samui is a wonderful island!!!!

perfect! All as I requested.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Turned out to be a nice boutique hotel right on the beach in Bophut. Seaview rooms have a great view and if you are on the first floor, the beach is only about 30 feet from your door. The beach itself is pretty nice, but if you go in the water, you will find many rocks. We were more interested in getting some sun and reading outside so this wasn’t a problem for us. The pool is not too big but since the hotel was half empty we didn’t run into too many guests. During the busy season, I would assume that it would be hard to get a beach chair & hard to find room in the pool. This hotel seems to be geared more toward adults & I wouldn’t recommend bringing children as there is not much for them to do. The breakfast was quite good: cereal, large croissant, plate of fresh fruit, juice & coffee. I thought Baan Bophut was a great value for $60 USD right on the beach. Staying in Bophut is much different than Chaweng but there are plenty of restaurants to eat at and Chaweng is only 10-15 minutes by taxi. The only downside to this hotel, is that the walls/doors are quite thin so during high season it would probably be loud. I would stay here again if I came during low season.

no problems

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the hotel where the room was clean and pleasant and the sea view magnificent. Friendly and attentive staff added to the enjoyment and the breakfast was superb. We would recommend this small hotel to anyone who wishes a quiet break. Keep up the good work Baan Bophut!

Efficient and quick - also dealt with meeting arrangement at airport. I would use Sawadee.com again without hesitation.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Well, in the first two hours of my stay my bathroom was flooded and I had to move to another room because of the noisy Brits in the room below me. I did settle in and found the rooms to be spacious and clean. The views from each room are outstanding. A picture postcard. The staff is also very accommodating. Maybe this hotel suffers from an identity crisis, on whether to cater to the under thirty party crowd or to the mature traveler. You take your chances.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
WE were supposed to stay 10 days in that hotel, however we did stay only 2... Knowing very well Bophut village we thought this new hotel would be great( we had the chance to visit it a year before). However , we did get there and it was not what we did imagine, we had to wait for checking in ( No one at the desk, staff was by the pool plying guitar and singing!), pool was not working and pretty dirty ( Mold), rooms were not clean ( floors) , staff was OK. I also did find a dead dog in a plastic bag by the beach and had to have some workers removing it from the property beach ( beach was not clean as well). All that to tell you we left 8 days earlier BUT found the best hotel only 2 doors down with so many nice smiles!

sawadee is a very good agency however it was complicated to reach some staff there after we left the hotel

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Beautiful setting. Rooms stylish and elegant. The beds are the best I have ever had in an hotel. Service friendly and efficient. The breakfast croissants were utterly fantastic. The Baan Bophut is situated right on the coarse sandy beach so that the views from your balcony are fantastic - clear across to Koh Phangan. It has comfortable beach-beds on the sand and fabulous padded deckchairs and axe cushions on the strip of lawn between the hotel and the sand. All the rooms have DVD/CD and the hotel has a good library of films if you get bored, we never had time to watch any. A short 100 metre walk takes you to the heart of the village - laid-back isn t the word horizontal better describes Bophut. No loudness or brashness just good restaurants, quiet bars and the sea. We absolutely loved it and will be back as soon as possible.

Everything worked. No hassles, Brilliant.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
A perfect spot for a tranquil vacation, almost on the beach (10 meter with grass separates the hotel from the sand). Nice seaview from all rooms, which comes with varandas or terraces. Beeing a small hotel, you are never enclaved within the hotel perimeter, like in those big resorts: Here you can still watch what is going on in the community. The community here beeing the nice, small fishermans village . Very friendly staff and managment.

No problem at all. I forgot the name of the hotel, so when I arrived I obviously had a problem locating the hotel. A phone call to Sawadee solved the problem, as I had my booking number with them.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Great location on edge of Fisherman s Village, so plenty of bars/restaurants/shops to walk to. Lovely large rooms, clean with fab linen and beds. Great new facilities including DVD players in every room and a library of DVDs to borrow. Very modern fuunky decor with efficient aircon and some basic toiletries. Very friendly and helpful staff and owners, Flexible about breakfast times and content. The only thing the room lacked was a hairdryer, but I did borrow one from reception. Our only criticisms are the water at the basins is not hot, (as in a lot of cheaper hotels) which my husband finds a problem for shaving and the swimming pool was pretty grubby for most of our stay, it didn t appear as though anyone was cleaning it at all, though it did rain for the entire time. Also, the bathrooms are wet rooms which is great, except that the floor tiles are shiny flat and very, very slippery, and both I and my husband nearly fell several times. But, having said that, we loved it there, great rooms and quality amenities, so we will be going back, but with non-slip flip flops to wear in the shower !

Efficient and quick. All reservations acknowledged and confirmed by e-mails. Delighted and will use again.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Hello from Ireland all - After spending many nights on the internet searching for hotels, we eventually decided to choose Baan Bophut because of the good reviews and the pictures on the website. We booked it for 10 nights straight but it was a gamble that paid off! From the minute we set foot in the place and met the staff ,we knew we had made the right decision. The place was spotlessly clean and the hotel matched everthing the pictures on the web had shown (which is not always the case with some places). The rooms were larger than we had expected with a nice balcony and more importantly, the beds were the best we had ever slept on (I could even do a whole review on the beds!). Bathroom was also spotless with quite a modern feel to it. Rooms were equipped with ample storage, TV and DVD player (free DVD library) and air conditioning which is a must. Because of the size of the hotel you really get a personalised service - sometimes we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The management (Dom, Lucy & Mod) made us feel at home straight away and were ever so helpful and the staff were very courteous and professional.I personally recommend the seaview rooms as the views of Koh Phangan are great in the morning or evening. The bar was nice serving quality cocktails and cool beers. They even let us play our own music! We didn t eat at the hotel that often, as we preferred to try as many restaurants as possible, but anytime we did the food was of the highest quailty with nice presentation.(Angel recommends the Caesar salad!)The in-house massage service is also very good.Angel had a massage every day and she found Inn(the massage girl) to be friendly but also very professional. I even had a few myself. Well worth it and at a reasonabale price. All in all it was a pleasurable stay and we will definitely return again someday - hopefully sooner than later. So a big hello to all the staff there and thanks again. A special mention has to go to Mod, the house manager, who was extremely nice with us and helped us out with whatever we needed. She has great local knowledge and she is a classic example of how friendly Thai people can be and truly made our stay at Baan Bophut a special one-thanks again..... Steven & Angel

Very efficient-no problems what so ever

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Was very disappointed with this hotel. The pool was not clean enough to swim in and there was nowhere to sit around it. The beach was rocky and littered with dead fish and broken bottles,so it was not possible to swim at all. The staff were not as friendly as in other hotels we stayed in.Room and ensuite were fine. We checked out a day early

We had to pay a fee for the night we did not stay for the booking service.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Actually, I went from Chaweng to Bophut where I should have stayed 5 days. Although this hotel is very nice, and clean, I came back to Chaweng (Princess Village), cause beach is not so nice, even ugly at low tide, and nothing to do day/night in this little fisherman s village. The only thing I enjoyed is a diner at ZAZEN resort: excellent food!

no problem

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
Must agree with the other reivews about Baan Bophut. Small hotel, very clean, great rooms/decor, friendly staff, fantastic views and right on the edge of village. We had a very relaxing stay but had a couple of surprises that hadn t been pointed out to us on booking. One, sea is rocky opposite (not possible to swim). Two, breakfast is continental (but you pay for extra) plus we got standard fruit unlike previous reviewer. Three, building work next door and behind although wasn t a problem. Overall, we very very satisfied, got one room upgrade and complimentary taxi due to building work inconvenience.

very efficent, no problem

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
this is the perfect hotel in the perfect location. i hate the blandness of big hotels, and the servility that passes for service in them, but i don t want cheap, grotty and taciturn either. baan bophut is small, elegant, spotlessly clean, has wonderful genuinely friendly staff, and the best beds i ve ever slept in (the same ones as the westin grand heavenly bed , apparently). the minimalist rooms have crisp white linen, terracotta floors, and stylish mango wood furniture, and are just metres away from an idyllic and quiet stretch of beach. best of all, each room has a wall of glass looking over the water and its own private balcony. sunset and dawn are exquisite. the a/c is arctic if you want it , but each room has its own thermostat, plus cable TV and a DVD player. there s also a lovely pool, and best of all, a strip of soft green turf for lounging about on. last, but not least, breakfast features real coffee, and a range of tropical fruits - not just your standard watermelon, pineapple and banana, but pomelo, dragonfruit, and so on - and they make their cocktails from fresh fruit: a rarity in these parts. for those who don t know the island, bophut is a small, charming village, without the traffic, sewage smells and girly bars of chaweng and lamai. it has a range of good restaurants and bars, including the yoga cafe (stunning salads, try the kow yam), coffee junction, larry s (new york) steak house, al abaya (wonderful carpaccio), as well as a range of cheap and upscale thai food, including a thai morning market at the pier, from which tours to angthong marine park depart daily. basically, everything you want is a short stoll away, including 2 yoga schools. book early, because this hotel is already gathering a crowd of regulars, myself included (booked in again for christmas).

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
The hotel is a sheer delight if you want to get away from it all. I work in a large hotel and did not want that kind of environment for my vacation. Instead i was extremly happy with the friendly, informal atmosphere of Bann Bophut and will not hesitate to visit again. The room was excellent, views superb, a quiet environment offering a tranquil haven and I was left to come and go as I please with the added extra of efficient staff to keep me informed of the best places to go.

Booking at the hotel was no problem on sawadee, but i did not get the airport pickup I had requested.

Baan Bophut, Bophut Beach
A fantastic place with such a friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. I have stayed in many 4&5* hotels around the world, however, at Baan Bophut you got 5* for the price of 3* well done guys keep it up. I will be recommending this place to all my friends. Building works are going on next door during the day but this should not put you off at all as the noise is kept to a minimum and in any event you should be enjoying Koh Samui during the day. Please check it out.

Very easy to book but please make it clear to customers regarding taxi service from the airport that you will be charged for a round trip if booked online!!
