Valeria Fazio 2008-08-20	Orchid Suites Resort, Lamai ciao siamo stati in questo htl 6 notti e devo dire che è stata proprio un ottima scelta...abbiamo optato per bungalow vista mare e ci è capitato quello centrale accanto alla reception con vista anche sulla bella piscina. le camere sono abbastanza spaziose con un balcone grande, sono pulite e dotate di aria condizionata che funziona perfettamente. la colazione è compresanella tariffa ed è discreta, la posizione dell hotel è ottima in quanto a 100 m dalla parte di spiaggia più bella di lamai, quella con sassi enormi levigati e vicina alla via principale con negozi e ristoranti, dista 15 km da chaweng centro più animato ma con spiaggia a mio avviso troppo caotica. il personale dell hotel è disponibile come daltronde in tutta la thailandia..	very good service, very fast reply and simple way for payment

Nice and clean swimmingspool. Rooms are wodden single-bungalows. Very efficient aircondition. Breakfast is buffet. Good and enough selection. BF changes everyday - not everyday the same food. I can recommend, its my second stay now and i will come back again. Price level also very good.	Best experiences as everytime with sawadee.com

The resort is beautifully located, but the personnel or owner has let the bungalows, pool and pool area down, by not maintain it properly. Everything is dirty, old and need of change. The bungalow was not garden view, it was more a wall view where we only saw a gray fence. The breakfast was horrible. The best part was the juice and the rest was probably made many hours ago. Personnel was bad at the english language. Asking them for fresh tea was a problem. Pool table for the guests was basically occupied all the time by the personnel. Cleaning was basically not carried out. Everything in the bungalows was sticky an the bathroom was awful - not really cleaned for maybe one year.	Great as always.

The resort s location was wonderful the gardens and the pool area were very well kept. Our only concern was that we felt the room required updating and was very basic. There was no bar but the staff were very friendly and helpful.	No problem about the booking service which was excellent

A bit off from the city but no problem if you have a scooter or like to walk. The poolarea is great! Would stay here again!	Great as always!

Michelle gee 2007-05-22 until 2007-05-24	Orchid Suite Resort, Lamai The orchid suite is in a great location right next to Lamai Beach.We loved it here, the bungalows were clean and had a fridge and balcony overlooking the nicely kept gardens and ocean.The pool was always clean and well kept,the workers were very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was good as well,the free pool table was a bonus.We came here twice and will come back again.	we always book with sawadee, they are fast and efficient,and the site is very informative.

Although there is no beach access from the Hotel, the views of the sea are great. The pool is very nice and the grounds are very well landscaped and that adds much to the atmosphere.	Quick and easy

Bathroom was not cleaned after last user, mold everywhere, did not change after I complained this, at last I cleaned bathroom myself. Sometimes breathtaking stinking from floor-siphon, at last I put a glass on top, that helped. Twin-Bed, one good, one to soft, refrigerator very loud, aircondition ok. Wonderful pool, very peaceful resort-area, walk to the beach 3 minutes.

Helen 2005-12-28 until 2006-01-03	Orchid Suite Resort, Lamai The hotel is set away from the hustle and bustle of the strip which is very nice but a steep hill to get too the bungalows. The rooms were cleaned daily. The shower was temperamental but always hot. The pool was lovely and a short walk down a hill to the beach, which was lovely also, white sand and clear water. The breakfast was ok, fruit or eggs. Nothing spectacular. All in all a great place to stay.	great, no problems at all.

Was the nicest bungalow we stayed in, it is a little tired looking but not enough to put you off. Only Thai cable, which isnt a problem unless it rains daily as there is nothing to do. Staff very accomodating and night guard to complex. Breakfast continental and variety of eggs as with many places.

The bathroom is very inconvenient in that the shower is not enclosed (not unusual in Thailand), but simply situated on one of the walls. The actual performance of the shower is also not good. There is only one very small shelf in the bathroom, and noweher else to put stuff. The rest of the room is OK, but barely. The airconditioning is very loud and the bungalow we got did not look like it had been cleaned well. There was a lot of dust and dead bugs. The pool area is very nice. The staff is nice too. In general I would not recommend this place since I think you can get a better value closer to the water. There is a good reason why there are no pictures of the rooms on the website.....	Very good
Arvis Rempe 2005-07-17 until 2005-07-26	Orchid Suite Resort, Lamai Resort was even better than we expected. Bungalow was OK with nice view over swimming pool to sea. It was nice to sit at the evening on balcony, drink beer and enjoy the view. We tried also night bath in the Jacuzzi and it was great. We really enjoyed the swimming pool. If you walk downhill you can reach the sea in 3 minutes. Seaside is good for swimming and water is clear. Air condition unit was working good, no any problems with water supply and toilet flush. Twice there was a power block out for one hour during night time, but probably it was not a hotel fault. Breakfast was OK, lunch we always took at another place. Very quite resort. If you like loud companies and parties you should go to another place. Resort is at the far end of the Lamai beach, but it will take only 5-10 minutes walk to the Lamai centre, where you can find enough entertainment, including Thai boxing show at Saturdays evening. For more you should go to Chaweng beach.	Booking was OK and without any problems.

The bungalows were charming, typical thai wooden constructions spacious and clean, the shower could have been better but that wouldn t stop us staying here again. The pool is a good size - great Jacuzzi and the beach is only a 2 minute walk (down hill) also you pass some ordinary thai homes on the way to the beach which made you feel that you living more amongst the Thai people. Thai boxing gym just 2 mins away which was quite interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful and the fact that breakfast is included is a bonus. The Orchid was great value for money - would definately stay again.	very good service

The beach is 90 seconds away down the hill, the pool is great, the rooms are clean and tidy. On the downside had a tiny piece of Thai coconut candy stolen from the minibar fridge and was billed for two items not used. Maybe also nicked. A tip by any other name I guess. Nonetheless these are small things and I will return for sure.	No problems at all except no airport pickup and charged 400 baht for outbound transfer despite the inbound pickup failure. Checkout day was a holiday at 5.45AM and had friendly capable Chet been there I think I could have sorted this.

A very nice and quiet place, beautifully situated some 50 meters above sea level, surrounded by lush vegetation and offering stunning views over the sea. It is just a 2 minutes walk down the slope to the beach. You reach Lamai center, with restaurants, shops, facilities and entertainment within a 5 minutes walk. The resort is close enough to be convenient and far enough to be quiet. The pool is large and with a lovely view. We particularly enjoyed the Jacuzzi by the poolside. It was a real treat to relax in it in the evening under the sky full of stars. Very romantic! The bungalows were charming, typical thai wooden constructions. Everything was clean and well kept. With teenagers keen on shopping, we appreciated that the bungalows had plenty of space, a large wardrobe and lots of drawers. The breakfast included in the price was very good and the service vas excellent. This place offers very good value for money and we will most certainly come back.	We got the best possible assistance in our search for a place to stay. Booking and payement with sawadee.com was very smooth. We also tried to book through other web sites but got into all kinds of ennoying troubles.
Kang 2005-02-02 until 2005-02-11	Orchid Suite Resort, Lamai Situated on the southern end of Lamai Beach, which is rapidly developing, but still not as busy and commercialised as Chaweng, the hotel is pleasantly placed away from the busy main street with all the shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is minimal. Reception is a simple open building housing the restaurant, and an old pool table and darts board. Located on a hillside, there are no grounds as such, but the pool area is adequate for sun-bathing. The pool is not the type where you can swim laps; more to cool off and relax in, approx 10m x 5m free-form. A nice feature is the outdoor jacuzzi by the pool. You get a beautiful view of the sea but not the beach. The accommodation is Thai-style teak chalets, which are charming, however, they are looking a little old and could do with renovating. Each has a small balcony with a couple of chairs and coffee table. Some have a sea-view. We had an air-con room, with fridge, safety-deposit box (which was broken), and TV, although non-Thai channels were limited to DTW (German, with occasional English news), Action 1 (sport and travelogues), and Animal Planet. Our air-con was very noisy, which kept us awake for a couple of nights until we got used to it. The shower and toilet was simple but adequate. Room cleanliness could have been better, it basically amounted to a quick sweep each day. The beach is a short 2 minute walk down the hill, the sand is grainy but reasonably clean. The sea was clean but at certain times of the day contained a brown tide of sewage and you would not want to be swimming in that! Jet-skis and kayaks can be rented, and there are some rocks for snorkelling around. Lamai itself is developing rapidly. Plenty of cheap clothes, laundry, diving, shops, restaurants, massage, bars, internet cafes, jeep/bike rental, and ATM s. Unfortunately, some of bars are rather loud and some shops and massage places a little pushy. Otherwise, Lamai is a good choice if you want all the facilities but not on the scale of Chaweng.	Very good. Trouble-free, responded within 48 hours as promised. Gave us no cause for concern. We also booked our hotel pick-up via the sawadee.com site and had no problems. However, the driver was quite grumpy, drove dangerously and without any consideration for his passengers. However, this is pretty typical of Samui traffic generally!

Shower didn t work. Beds were noisy. Breakfast served in reception. Restaurang closed at 4 pm. Pool was fantastic with beautiful view over the sea. Personal nice and service minded. A nice resort that with small means could be better.	Excellent. But prepay for all nights is not good. A deposit should be enough
Gary Tucker 2004-10-27 until 2004-11-26	Orchid Suite Resort, Lamai we have stayed here twice and have had a fantastic time on both occassions. the resort is tucked up a private road, set in a coconut grove. the pool is enourmous, the rooms are clean and spacious with large balconies.the best thing about this resort by far is how friendly all the staff are, they really go out of their way to help!	fast and effective- very easy to use.
