Waterfront, Bophut Beach This resort went beyond my expectations. Robin met the group I was with at the airport and drove us round the fantastic village of Bophut identifying each restaurant and bar - you could eat at a different one each night and sample the cuisine from various parts of the globe, only a few minutes walk from the Waterfront. Many had live entertainment each night so you are never stuck for things to do. The Billabong was especially good for live music and atmosphere, but Robin and Sue also provide a comprehensive booklet with every bar and restaurant in the vicinity. The amenities at the Waterfront were wonderful - the rooms exceptionally modern, very clean and with every facility. They have books, games and DVDs to borrow, if you need them!! Our time there was too short to make good use of them all. Breakfast was excellent and food could be obtained at the bar by the pool up to 6pm each day. I can personally recommend the duck and ginger pancakes! Although they can t always promise to provide transport back to the airport Michael was able to do that for us - otherwise there are plenty of taxis in the area - remember to negotiate a price beforehand though. I lived in Thailand for 6 years and travelled round to many places during my time there. I can honestly say this was one of the best resorts I have ever stayed in and the location is perfect. I will definitely go back again. |
Excellent service - I have used them many times and if there are any concerns they will address them. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Everything it says it is. Very friendly, perfect position right on beach, wonderful breakfasts and great staff. A very peaceful laid back place but with loads of great eating and drinking places within minutes walk, would definately recommend. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We have been to Bophut for the second time but the first to the Waterfront hotel. Robin and Michael were very courteous and friendly and there staff were also courteous and friendly I agree some of the staff didn’t speak a lot English but we are in there country and that’s part of the charm of Thailand. But they were always smiling and were willing to help to make your stay a good one. We stayed in the bungalows which were presented in a very nice way. There was everything you would expect from a family run business in the rooms it was the little small touches that we liked for example of a full Mini bar in each of the rooms and that you could have your washing done and it was returned to your room the next day. Breakfast – Pretty basic but I have eaten other breakfasts in the village and I would say that the waterfront can hold their own with most of the other businesses that operate in the Bophut area. But the Quality of the food was good and the eggs were done perfectly every time. If there were any problems with the Rooms in the waterfront team were right there to sort the problem out but there was nothing major to report while I was staying there. When using the bathroom the first minute using the taps there was a slight smell but nothing to worry about as normally you don’t drink the water in Thailand anyway well I wouldn’t. Other guests- Most of the other guest were Couples and young families which wasn’t a problem. Hotel cost:- I booked the hotel in Feb 08 and Travelled to in Jan 09 and as most are aware that the credit crunch happened and that the Exchange became 25% - 30% more expensive to stay at the hotel it isn’t a big thing but just be aware when booking a year in advance you could be paying a lot more. THIS ISNT A CRITISM OF THE HOTEL AS ROBIN ISNT IN CONTROL OF THE EXCHANGE RATE BUT I WOULD LKE YOU ALL BEWARE OF BOOKING A YEAR IN ADAVNCE IT COULD COST YOU AN EXTRA BUT MORE LIKELY THE EXCHANGE RATE WILL HAVE DROPPED TO A NORMAL LEVEL NEXT YEAR. Airport pickup – Excellent robin was waiting to pick up us from the airport and drop us back off once we were leaving – could not fault them in anyway. The location of the hotel is the far end of Bophut not a million miles to walk to some real good restaurants running from very cheap to some more expensive restaurants but all to an excellent standard. Overall I was happy with the service of the Water front team and the quality of the service could compete against the majority of the hotel and guests house in Bophut. But I would recommend staying if you are looking for a quite time with a family or if you are an older couple. Again I would like to thank Robin and his team for a Pleasant and stress free holiday. |
Booking Service Good. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach The rooms were well appointed and very clean. The beach had very coarse sand and not very deep. The staff were not that friendly or helpful and did not speak English very well. The breakfasts were not very well prepared. |
The booking service was fine, no problems. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Robin, Sue and Michael were very friendly and helpful and helped us when they could during our 4 night stay. The younger Thai staff though were not as helpful, they were often rude and made you feel like you were just in their way. They also made us feel uncomfortable at breakfast as they talked and laughed all the while looking in our direction. Breakfast was basic and the fruit and milk looked like it sat there un-refrigerated from 7:30- 11:00 when breakfast was over. The bar charged almost triple the amount for a beer than anywhere else we stayed in Thailand! The rooms were clean and well appointed but our bathroom smelt absolutely putrid, like raw sewrage. I don t know if it was the bore water used in the shower, but it was disgusting! The hotel is located in a lovely fishermans village and is great for people who don t want to be in the noisy, touristy centre of Patong, but is still close enough to get a taxi too for a night/day out. Overall we wouldn t stay there again. |
Perfect, no problems at all. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Wonderful. Quiet, very good amenities, AC/ TV, internet in the lounge, excellent breakfast, helpful staff. Beautiful location directly on the beach with pool and lots of lounge chairs. Too bad that the beach is not hospitalbe for swimming directly in front of the hotel. I would definitely reommend.. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We stayed for six nights at The Waterfront, Bohput, with our three year old girl, and it was - quite simply - not long enough. I can see why this place is consistently rated and reviewed so highly. The rooms are beautiful, very clean and well-appointed. Beds are comfortable and large. Breakfast at The Waterfront is plentiful and delicious, with a great selection of cooked and uncooked food to choose from. In fact, all the food is very good and the cook is extremely friendly! It s so well-positioned being right in Fisherman s Village, but it s right at the end of the beach so it s still a quiet little corner of paradise. In short, we had a lovely time at The Waterfront and will definitely be going back. |
Very easy and efficient. Thanks! |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Wij zaten in the Waterfront van 12 juli t/m 19 juli 2008. Wij waren hier met onze twee kinderen van 13 en 15 jaar. We sliepen in de familie suite. Prachtige rustige locatie. Uitzicht fantastisch. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach This small hotel is wonderful. Right on the beach. Sue, the owner, was So friendly and welcoming. Her son Michael was waiting for us when we got off of the plane. The rooms are simple, modern, very attractively made up. They are at the end of the restaurant section of the town. The staff was able to arrange a snorkeling trip for us. If we ever get back to Thailand, we would definitely return to this hotel. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach The Waterfront was a really nice hotel and the rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly and the gardens were beautiful. The only draw back was that the beach where the hotel is situated is very shallow and rocky. |
Excellent as usual. |
| Torben 2008-06-23 until 2008-07-08 |
Waterfront, Bophut Beach Nice little place, however, the beach is not good at all, very rocky, way to shallow (at least outside season). We have planned to stay at the resort for 15 days, but decieded that we did nt want to stay there for more than 3 days. What we don t like is that we had to pay all the money for the reservation/booking within the first 5 min after we did arrive to the resort, and since we decieded to leave the place before time, it did cost us nearly 25000 bath for the 3 days (because they wanted deduction for early leave). That is NOT a good service to provide. We went to Hua Hin, much more friendly places there, and we did nt have to pay up front the places we did stay there. The owner however are very helpful and friendly, just thinking to much business regarding money :-( We will never come to Koh Samui again, the island are wasted by to many tourists now. We did have a wonderfull time in Hua Hin, so we are coming back to Thailand again next year. |
Booking fine and friendly |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Difficult to find any fault with this place. Fantastic location, though at this time of year it s not possible to swim in the sea due to low tides. The rooms provided everything you could possible need with one niggly small exception, ie no hand towels, but that was nothing in comparison will all the things that were provided. The beds were comfortable which for Thailand is a rarity! The cleanliness of the rooms was overwhelming, eg every day the glass doors were cleaned though the towels and bedding weren t changed daily but for me, I see that as a bonus rather than a disadvantage as it saves water and protects the environment. The pool was small but more than adequate and for once, it was cool and refreshing. Anyone travelling with children would find the Waterfront perfect as every kind of toy and game is provided for their entertainment. The staff were amazing with all of them speaking very good English and very friendly. The food was also excellent - I recommend the pomelo salad and the fried rice is the best I ve had anywhere. Hosts Robin and Sue give everyone the warmest welcome and work hard to make sure all their guests have a holiday to remember. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach The Waterfront was an oasis of relaxation and we had a lovely quiet week there. Food is very nice there and they lay on a great breakfast. Lots of sun beds which was great and a nice pool to cool off in. We would go back and stay here again. All the staff work very hard. If we had to offer any creative critism - I would say that cleaning staff (and lobby/pool staff) can be a little noisy if they are cleaning/working an early. We had them all laughing and joking loudly at 8am ouside our door - great they are happy in their work, but not if you want a lay in! Carol in reception is a lovely helpful lady, a real asset to Waterfront. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach The waterfront is by far the best hotel I have stayed in. The staff the service and I think mainly the atmosphere and surroundings make this hotel so good. I stayed in a five star hotel the night before travelling to Thailand and it wasn t a patch on the Waterfront. Nothing else to say, if you want to go to a quieter side of Samui than Chaweng, the Waterfront is the ONLY choice. |
Excellent. A really personal service from Robin the hotel owner. You really know where you stand and what you re getting. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We liked the Waterfront and would definitely recommend it. This is a great value for the price especially during the low season. The high points are: breakfast, the pool and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The owners are charming and we very much enjoyed our stay. |
Very efficient and reliable. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach What can I say? Robin and Sue (Margot & Jerry!!!) were wonderful hosts - making an effort to remember everyone s name. The Waterfront was just like being with your family! We were only here for one night (stopping over on the way to Koh Tao) and were really sad to leave. The hotel was full, but there never seemed to be anyone around! We went into Chaweng (big mistake - just like Phuket, and we wouldn t rush back to either), and when we returned, Sue and Robin were there (just like Mum & Dad) asking where we d been. Super couple. Michael picked us up from the airport and when we arrived, we were given a welcome drink (of our choice). Sue and Robin let us leave a case with them so that we didn t have to lug it to Koh Tao, which was very ind of them. They didn t want any money, so we put 500bt in the Staff Tip Box. Loved Carol, and the dogs Honey and Judy. Can t wait to return for a longer stay next year. |
Fab as usual! |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Stayed at the Waterfront for 7 nights, and found it to be a fantastic place. The owners, Sue and Robin, do everything they can to make your stay very special. The staff are very friendly and the rooms immaculately maintained with some very nice touches. Only regret was that we had prebooked a further 13 nights in Chaweng at a resort of similar cost but with nothing like the standards achieved at the Waterfront. Hope to be back soon |
No problems, efficient service |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Very nice quiet relaxing hotel. Lovely clean little pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was nice being out of the way from Chaweng abit. Bophut is a charming little resort, some lovely restaurants and bars just outside the hotel. Our favourite was Cocooning just opposite the Waterfront, we spent a couple of very merry evenings there! |
No problem! Mai Ben Rai! |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We enjoyed the Waterfront very much. We found it to be very peaceful, relaxing, and even when it rained a bit, we still enjoyed the setting and simply reading on our private balcony. We wouldn t recommend the Waterfront for hard-core partiers or people who need a pristine beach out their front door. But we would recommend it for couples, families, and singles who are ready to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and cozy village (with great restaurants!) |
Very efficient. |
| Raymond Poole 2007-11-08 until 2007-11-12 |
Waterfront, Bophut Beach The Waterfront is a very professionally run operation in a very nice part of Koh Samui. Bo Phut Fisherman s Village is an ideal place to stay with enough local attractions to keep you satisfied. The Waterfront has an inordinately high no. of staff who are always busy and polite. The mixture creates a very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. It is one of those places where guests can readily choose to mix with fellow guests or maintain privacy. I would gladly stay there again. If I was to list any negatives and they are few I would say that the grounds and gardens cannot be described as impeccably manicured and that the TV was a tad small. I stayed in Room 14 which had an adjoining room where the amourous occurrences of my neighbours could be heard loud and clear. |
Quick & efficient. Would recommend and use again. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We have initially booked only two nights, but we extended our stay there for most of our 2-week honeymoon trip. Waterfront is located in an active, but less crowded area of Koh Samui. A pretty looking, very relaxing, comfortable, family run boutique hotel. Right next to the beach, with great views of the sea and the nearby Koh-Phangan island. The service is superb: the owners and staff do everything possible to make you feel at home. Sue and Robin were not only friendly and helpful, but they also got us out of trouble a few times, for instance drove us to the pier when we risked missing a boat trip! It is not a full-featured hideaway resort, but then it does not need to; one can stroll around the neighborhood and find plenty of beach side restaurants and bars to choose from. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone as the perfect stress-relief location. |
Fast, reliable service and discounted rates. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We had a lovely and pleasant time at the Waterfront. All the staff were really nice and helpful. the only problem we did have was the beach it s not very nice there, but the one at cheegwan beach was beautiful and only ten mins away. |
We found that by booking with sawadee it was easy to do and we didn t have to worry about tryin to book somewhere when we got there, also we found that it wóuld have cost us more if we had of just rang the place we were staying. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We really enjoyed our stay at the Waterfront. Views are lovely, the only down side was the sea is unsuitable for swimming but even so there are plenty of other beaches where you can swim. All the staff, Sue and Robin are really nice and make you feel very welcome. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach The Waterfront Hotel is a fabulous place to stay on Koh Samui. Robyn and Sue are most welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are immaculately clean, neat, tidy and comfortable. The staff are great and the atmosphere is relaxing. We would highly recommend The Waterfront at Bohput if you wanted to be out of the hustle and bustle of Chaweng and enjoy a hassle free totally relaxing holiday. Thanks Robyn, Sue and Michael for your fantastic hospitality. See you again. |
Sawadee.com is great, I always recommend to people who are going to Thailand to book their accommodation on Sawadee.com. We will book our next Thailand experience through Sawadee.com |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach A lovely relaxing hotel at the far end of Bophut beach, very close to Fishermans village and lots of great restaurants. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful and spoilt for choice with the breakfast. Little touches like tea and coffee, DVD player etc in the room made it feel very homely and the daily cleaning of the room couldn t be faulted. An excellent little hotel with a perfect location....ill be back soon! |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We have just had 5 weeks stay with Robin and Sue at the Waterfront in Bophut.Wonderful holiday at a great hotel. 10 out of 10 for location, room, staff (wonderful) and food. Our first vist to Samui but we will be back. Only 1 complaint and not connected to the hotel in any way.But too many Brit type bars in the village, I mean who wants wall to wall sport, (and iam a rugby fan). When will the bar owners wake up to the fact that we want entertainment on our holiday not sport. But that apart cannot praise the waterfront enough. Thanks Robin and Sue. Cheers Dave and Yvonne Hartley |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We loved our stay at the Waterfront--lovely garden, pool, and eating areas with lots of coconut palms; clean, simply decorated rooms; cheerful, helpful staff; wonderful view and feeling, being right on the beach (though when we were there, one could not go in the ocean right in front of the hotel due to danger of coral cuts--but my daughter found a nice place to swim a short way down the beach); nice, small village right outside the grounds to walk and browse in, with many good restaurants. Robin and Sue were superbly gracious hosts, always checking to see if there was anything they could do for us, and the bartender/nightguard, Banjont, was a great addition--always there to help, hang out with comfortably, and give a feeling of security from 8pm to 7am every night. Especially after a rather exhausting tour of Bangkok and Northern Thailand, the laid-back peacefulness of the Waterfront and Bophut were deeply appreciated. I highly recommend it for a restful ending to a Thailand trip--or as a destination in itself. |
All arrangements were taken care of swiftly and smoothly online. No problems whatsoever. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We were 12 persons (8 adults and 4 children) staying at the hotel for two weeks. We found the hotel very good. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The room service kept a high standard.. Robin and Sue were very service minded and made their utmost to facilitate. As our grandchildren are between 2 and 13 years the place were very friendly for them. The only BUT was the beach and the sea which we couldn´t use close to the hotel. |
Everything was working fine |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach Wonderful hotel with the most charming hosts. Location is a first priority for us, and the Waterfront is certainly in a superb location. So near to good restaurants and bars and yet quiet and peaceful (sheer bliss). Robin and Sue can certainly be proud of their wonderful home from home and I do hope that one day we will return (as many of the other guests do year after year). Many thanks to all at the Waterfront for making our holiday so special. Jan & Harry 3 - 13 February 2007. |
First class. No problems whatsoever. Would certainly book with sawadee again. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We were very pleased with the resort and service. Robin and Sue are very kind hosts. The resort itself is ideally located in the small but charming village called Bophut Village (Fisherman s Village). Plenty of shops and restaurants to check out and only minutes away from the resort. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff were pleasant and professional. Enjoyed the little plusses the resort provided: Free Internet, Minibar,Adapters & TV & DVD player in all rooms with free rental of DVD movies! The only negative comment I would give is the pool is way too small for the resort which makes for a cramped seating area for the deck chairs (and they re are sooo comfortable!) My only suggestion would be to build a much larger pool as there is plenty of land to support it. Otherwise..we had a great time! |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach The Waterfront has the nicest location at Bophut Beach, with rooms fronting directly onto garden and beach. Pool surrounds and indoor/outdoor eating areas provide additional places to relax, read, etc. Rooms are attractively fitted out, and take advantage of views and breezes. This is a very quiet and peaceful place in which to take a restful break. Breakfast (included) is terrific. Best of all, the Waterfront has a delightful team of staff - friendly, helpful and good humoured at all times. There is a good selection of restaurants and cafes nearby to provide plenty of culinary variety, but (thankfully) no sleazy or noisy nightlife at Bophut Beach. The Waterfront is an excellent choice for couples and families looking for a charming, quiet tropical seaside spot for a holiday. |

Waterfront, Bophut Beach We have just returned from a five night stay at the Waterfront Hotel and I have to stay the only regret I have is that it was not for longer as it was a delight. We took the two bedroom family bungalow right on the beach and both the decor and space was lovely ! As indeed was the rest of the layout including the pool and (especially) the Pool Bar!!This is definitely a place where comfort, style and the ability to chill compliment eachother perfectly. May I therefore say a special thanks to Robin and Sue (though she was not there)Michael their son and their staff including Carol and Lamai for their warm hospitality and friendliness. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel and the lovely village of Bophut to anyone. Regards Maria Peters |

The Waterfront, Bophut Beach We stayed at The Waterfront for six nights and we were pleased with our visit. The hotel is simply decorated but very clean. The owners, Robin and Sue as well as their son were extremely friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable and they are easily accessible for questions. The staff are also friendly and they helped us to book a rental car, snorkeling trip and cooking class. Bophut Beach (where the The Waterfront is located) is a cute village and that there are a number of restaurants nearby which are nice, but that Chewang and Lahina offer more variety and should be visited for longer holidays. |
The Sawadee booking service is excellent. They were accommodating and prompt in their replies to my questions. |
