About the hotel: very hard to find, far away from anything, was overbooked on arrival, no one there to give any relevant information, just stay away from this place if you want to avoid trouble
About the hotel: It was a little difficult to get to and it was a little more isolated than anticipated. It was essential to have the address and the phone number handy. It would have been better if a map was provided on the website. However it was very nice and comfortable despite the bumpy dirt road to get there. More of an adventure really. It was also necessary to rent a motorbike to get around but worth it to have such a beautiful quiet bay in front of us. Another suggestion would be to have the rooms cleaned with some frequency. We stayed 6 nights and it was never cleaned and we didn t realize we had to specifically ask for it. We placed a request on the door but it was never paid attention. Besides that of course -it was a great trip and we could easily stay again.

About the hotel: A really nice place located on a quiet beach. Very friendly staff and clean bungalows. Great food.
An excellent place to go and get away from it all, but close enough to Chaweng beach by taxi or hired scooter if you fancy some nightlife.
About the hotel: Good points - great beach location, friendly English/Thai couple running it, laid back atmosphere. Not so good for me - we were only guests on first night and too far to walk to any nightlife, so very very quiet, bungalow tatty and older than expected, but clean.
About the hotel: As we arrived at the Green Wood Bungalow it was dark and we were thinking if it was a good idea to book here. The next morning we saw everthing and it was wonderful. You can see from the beach the Big Budha and the kajak is free to use. The children are so cute. There are few tourist but often you meet Thai people. It was a fantastic time to relax!!!

We had planed to be there 12 nights and had already paid 3900 baht as deposit but runaway after one night.. To make a long story short:
1: The pictures are old so dont expect to see same place..2:Very dirty room stinking of Geko shit and its seems to be no cleaning of the bed at all before some new customers arrive...3:The sea is an old coral creek so you cant swim there unless you dont want to hurt yourself...4:The sound of all kind of insects at night wont let you sleep and the road dowm from the big street to the bungalow(jungle) is 100% dark so dont expect yourself going out from this place at dark(500 meters in a jungle out to civilization).We rent a bike and been told that i costs 300 baht a day, but everywere else it costs 200 baht.We new that we couldnt sleep even one night in the standard bungalow (480 baht) so i told Johnny the owner that we wanted the superior bungalow(1500 baht). It was dirty and smelling like the cheaper one but had aircondition.There were very kind until we told them that we are leaving.
We paid 1500+1500 for 2nights because of late checkout + 3900 baht= 6900 baht for one sleepless night in the jungle.This i our big misstake you shouldnt do.

About the hotel: We had a fabulous stay at Greenwood in early december, lovely, quiet and relaxed! That said it didn t stop us staying up to the wee hours playing games and drinking beer at the bar till the wee hours. Toey s cooking can t be beat and that paired with Johnny s hospitality and easy going nature we couldn t have picked a better spot!

About the hotel: A quiet and peaceful environment right on the beach. A familiar atmosphere and exceptionelly friendly owners. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They booked a car and a trip for us. Bungalows are clean and airconditioned and beutifully located almost on the beach. Highly recommended. About the hotel: ACHTUNG NICHT BUCHEN!! ATTENTION DÓNT BOOK!!In diesem Luxus-Bungalow gab es nur ein Bett und eine kleine Ablage. Weder ein Schrank für die Bekleidung, Sitzmöglichkeit, Kühlschrank, TV noch irgend etwas anderes war vorhanden. Auf der kleinen Terasse gab es auch keine Sitzmöglichkeiten. Die Klimaanlage sowie die warme Dusche war defekt, ein echter Deluxe Bungalow!!!! Gegen Aufpreis von 400 b. pro Tag, dann insgesamt 1200 B. pro Tag, haben wir einen anderen Bungalow erhalten, in dem die Aircon, Dusche und auch Kühlschrank funktionierten. Die Anlage ist total heruntergekommen, der Bungalow wurde in den 18 Tagen nach mehrf. Aufforderung nur EINMAL gesäubert, wir bekamen EINMAL ein neues Betttuch und die Handtücher wurden insgesamt 3 Mal gewechselt. Es gab gar keinen Service, die Betreiber sind unfreundlich und unverschämt, vielleicht haben Sie (Engländer) auch etwas gegen Deutsche Urlauber? Super schlechtes Preisleistungsverhältnis, Getränke, Wäscheservice(auch noch dreckig) und die Bungalows weit überteuert, neben an bekommt man schöne und saubere Bungalows mit gutem Service um die Häfte günstiger. So etwas haben wir in 30 Jahren Urlaub noch nicht erlebt, dieses ist auch für Thailand absolut untypisch!!! Trotz Bestätigung des Transfers zum Flughafen (Abreise) wurden wir nicht gefahren und es würde noch nicht einmal ein Taxi gerufen!! Toller Service, oder?? Bad service, unfriendly owner, dirty rooms, no towels, no new bed-linen, no cleaning the bungalows, no transfer-service, much to expensiv at all, only very, very bad!!!!! Niemals wieder: NEVER AGAIN!!

Bungalows is a small friendly Thai/English
family run resort with only five small bungalows and
one beach front two bedroom villa. On Baan Plai Laem
beach is where we are almost hidden,just off the beaten
track.

We have four beach bungalows(4.5m
x 4.5m) each with a double bed and one deluxe bungalow(5m
x 5m).All have hot water and a western toilet, all with
fan some with aircon and all are within sight of the
sea.

We also have a beachfront villa(16m
x 7m) fully furnished with traditional Thai furniture
with two aircon bedrooms(4.5m x 3.5m) and ensuite bathrooms

terrace.

We have a Thai thatched beach bar
and restaurant directly on the calm coral waters and
white sandy west facing beach. Where we have a fantastic
range of home cooked Thai and western dishes. Here at
G.W.B you will be given a warm welcome and have a chance
to recharge you batteries and have a relaxing time on
this peaceful and tranquil beach.
We have great
views of Koh Phangan to the right and the Big Buddah
to the left all with amazing sunsets behind Ang Thong
the national marine park.
GWB is located about half way along
the 2 km white sandy beach and the calm coral water
of Ban Plai Laem on the north east coast corner of Koh
Samui. On Baan Plai Leam beach there are no large hotels
or large resorts,at the moment.It is like almost having
and being on your own private clear empty beach. With
the occasional thai fisherman and the odd tourist BPL
beach is a lovely quiet chilled place to be. We are
only 5 mins from the airport,15 mins from the main entertainment
centre of Chawang beach and only 10 mins from many restaurants
and bars at the Bophut fisherman village.
There
are small local shops within walking distance and several
bars and restaurants a slightly further walk away down
by the Big Buddha and Plai Laem Temples.
We think our traditional small bungalows
are the perfect accommodation for the young at heart
and older style travelers. Who like us are trying to
keep a little piece of Samui like the way it was. This
is the place to book and stay if you are the kind of
person who isn't afraid of being a short way off the
beaten track(500 meters to local shop and 1km to 7-11
shop which is open 24hours,down the beach and turn left!)
directly on the beach, not too close to civilization
but then only a short ride to all the western trappings
of modern Samui.
LOCATION
& MAP
Not far away are the Big Buddha temple
and closer still the Plai Laem temple, both soothing
places to visit. Opposite lies the small island of Koh
Som easily accessible by kayak. BPL beach is not deep
enough to allow jet skis and speedboats to come into,
so the quiet and tranquility remains just like Samui
used to be. When the tide is in its a nice beach to
swim, maximum of 2 meters deep with no large waves or
strong currents. When the tide is out its a good beach
for walking and tanning.
We can arrange taxis, cars or bike
rentals for you and can help to book any tours or tickets
that you may require, including diving trips, padi diving
courses, snorkeling and kayaking day trips to Ang
Thong or Koh Tao, Living Thailand half/full day trip,
full moon party speedboat tickets, seatran ferry tickets,
day spa and anything else we can try to help you with.
