Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Third time at the resort.Every time something new. This time they build a Spa.Very nice staff. Beautiful well mantained garden. Quiet surroundings but close to many restaurants and pubs. Beach and sea could be better. The sight in the water are poor. Been there different times of the year but same all times. Good restaurant and beach bar. Very good value for the money. Just read all other reviews and you understand. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We had a very nice time staying at Smile resort having no real complaints at all. The location was perfect for us as my girlfriend has trouble walking long distances so for the village strip it was perfect, right on our doorstep and no looking for a taxi home. The room was very clean and was cleaned thouroughly every day working around our schedule, not once were we hassled to vacate whilst the chalet was made up. Having two pools was great and it was nice and quiet for us. The grounds were beautifully maintained and was a real pleasure to stay there. The staff were excellent not that we had a lot of dealing with them as all went very smoothly, the resort restaurant was very good quality and value for evening meals,in fact we ate there more than anywhere else and there is plenty of competition locally! If you have never been to Bohput beach before it is a relaxing part of the island to stay with a good selection of bars and resturants, if you want the night clubs and girly bars that is a taxi ride to Chewang down the road but for a couple of young at heart 40 somethings we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere where we could chill out and have sensible night out with a bit of life within a short walk of each other. The Shack steak bar is definitely worth checking out, not that cheap but a better piece of steak will be hard to find, the Starfish looks expensive but really is nt and is good quality, the 56 restaurant is also well worth a visit at least once, along with a number of bars you will usually find enough to entertain yourself in the evening. We did nt bring children with us but felt it really was nt a place to bring them, there really is not a lot for them to do and the resort did not seem to cater for them in any visible way. Nothing is ever perfect so I will list just a few niggles so that you have a full picture and hopefully Smile Resort might take these points on board. The rooms are well equiped ( we had superor bungalow ), hair drier, soap and shampoo, TV, stocked fridge, nice quiet aircon, but a Kettle and tea and coffee for a morning cuppa would have been great. The buffet breakfast was OK but thats about it, there is enough choice for most to find something but 5 star it is not, then again you ain t paying 5 star prices. The staff never once questioned me on taking a breakfast back to the room for my girlfriend as we always returned the crockery. At the moment there is building works being done next to the main pool so it is a bit of a building site there, we did nt find this a major problem as we also understand that these things need to be done at some point, it was just unfortunate it was when we stayed. As a whole it certainly did nt affect us that much. We stayed at Smile in what was really the off season so it was quite quiet, which was great for us, we stayed in S10 which was in a row of 4 bungalows, now although they were detached by the walls they shared a common roof, this meant that when you had neighbours ( which was nt often thank god) you could hear them very clearly echoing through the roof space making them sound very near by. We thought that they were being un-reasonably noisey until you heard their hairdrier and realized how much the sound travelled. My tip is make sure you are properly detached otherwise you will wake up with them like it or not. Apart from that we more than staisfied and should we return to Koh Samui, which I think we will at some point Smile resort will be our first choice as we feel we got very good value for money, look down the beach and you will be paying an awful lot more, OK they are nicer quality but unless you have deep pockets you seem to paying through the nose for many extras that you may never need. |
Used before and will definitly use again, it gives honest accounts and is easy to use. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We had a pleasant stay in the hart of Bo Phut, right near the beach. Great breakfast location! Also very nearby the excellent restaurants in Fisherman s village. Accomodation was good and bungalow had most necesary things (airco / fridge), but unfortunately no safe-box in the room. The only other comment would be that the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Due to low-season it was very quiet in the resort. The staff however was very friendly and helpful. All-in-all a very pleasant experience. |
Very smooth. Excellent! |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach The hotel was very nice indeed. The stuff were very helpful and polite. The room(double deluxe)was as shown at the pictures and was cleaned every day. The restaurant, just a few steps from the sea, was great! The hotel was located at a very nice village called The fisherman s village , not very far away from Chaweng. The only bad thing was that the sea in front the hotel was a little bit dirty however, we rented a motorbike and went to other beaches to swim. We would definately stay there again if we ever visited Samui for second time! |
Very simple and secure. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Have been to Smile House three times now. Lovely resort at reasonable rates with two good swimming pools. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice bar and restaurant overlooking the beach. My only gripe is the lighting in the bungalows - it s not good. OK for guys, but for women who want to make-up in the evenings it s a bit of a worry what the end product looks like! However, would definitely recommend Smile House and would stay there again on our next visit to Samui. |
Very impressed! Extremely fast, efficient service. Very clear instructions, making on-line payments very easy to follow. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Very good resort with big bungalows, great pool. Service is good (housekeeping, transfer, breakfast...). Best choice in the Fisherman village. |
Fast and efficient. Highly recommended |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Our feedback on this resort is positive. (we extended our stay after we saw the room and facilities). It is next to the Fishermen s village, so near all the restaurants and services. |
Easy to use and reliable. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We enjoyed our stay at Smile House and particularly the beautiful sea and beach view from the restaurant where we ate breakfast. What a lovely way to start the day! We stayed in a three-bedroom bungalow, which was nicely positioned in pretty gardens and close to a secluded swimming pool. It benefited from air conditioning, 2 bathrooms and a fridge/freezer in the huge kitchenette area. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable and our only concern was the poor lighting in every room. All the bulbs were low wattage and even in daylight the mosquito netting on the windows made the rooms dimly lit, so it was difficult for us to accurately shave or apply make up. Apart from this the accommodation presented good value and we would recommend a stay in one of these larger deluxe bungalows. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Excellent value for money for a family of four. Paid approx 60 Euros for family terrace bungalow (room SM11 situated at end of hotel property) inc two bathrooms, three bedrooms. Down side was noise from nearby bar from midnight to 0230 most nights and noise from neighbours. After 10 days, moved to two attached bungalows but with no interconnecting door and negotiated the rate. Could hear our children loud and clear which was fine but would have been annoying if they weren t ours! Ask for T1 and T2 or T3 and T4 if you want this set up. Showers not great in all the bungalows we stayed in but I think that s the same all over Thailand unless you pay for 5 star. Staff not overly friendly but warmed up during our second week. Owners ignore everyone and never say hello! Breakfast good. Having two pools to choose from was great and never had a problem getting a sunbed. Large pool is warm. To order poolside drinks or food you have to cross small road; shame the waiter doesnt walk around from time to time to ask. Gardens beautiful. No massage in hotel but just opposite on beach (cost 5 Euros). You have to walk 10 mins to main road to catch a pickup as they dont come into village. Have stayed in Bophut three times and feel atmosphere is cooler if you stay directly on beach, even if you have to walk back along beach from village at night. I recommend the Frog & Ghecko, just opposite Smile House, for a friendly welcome, food, drinks, 70 s music and their famous Wednesday pub quiz. |
Very good. Quick and efficient. Thank you. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Family of five in two bed luxury family chalet. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant much better than expected from reviews. Location good being at the end of Fisherman s village but close to restaurants / shops etc. Did not see anywhere better in Bophut. |
Fine. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Fantastic! Friendly, helpful staff and lovely bungalows dotted around 2 pools. Shady walkways with well-kept grounds. Great restaurant on the beach with Thai and Western style food, and a separate bar. On the edge of Fishermans village - perfect. Would definitely stay here again, we loved it. |
Easy, efficient, hassle-free. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Not bad, lacks a bit of character and looks somehow oldish but it s clean and located near the beach, which isn t great but it s OK. Buffet-style breakfast, very nice restaurant on the beach. The staff isn t very friendly (nor unfriendly, note). |
No probs. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Wow what a lovely place to stay. Thankyou to all the staff at smile house. We booked a superior bungalow for 2 days and then extended our stay for a further 11 days! The bungalow we stayed in were in excellent all round condition with good air conditioning and were cleaned well every day. The soroundings were beutifull with daily gardeners keeping the grounds just perfect. There are 2 swimming pools and the smile house restaurant for breakfast is on the beach. Evening meals are very good also and good value. We found all of the staff very friendly and helpful. You can possably find cheaper accomodation elsewhere but we found smile house good all round value for money. If you dont want a busy tourist area like chawang but still would like a nice selection of restaurants, village shops and bars with local boat trips to ko phangan etc. this place is worth a try. We would recommend this place to anyone. A++++ |
Very good service. No problems with booking at all. Thanks to everyone with Sawadee.com |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We arrived Smile House 10 July and stayed for 14 days. We are very happy for our stay at Smile House, we had the family bungalow with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathroom, it was a very nice and big bungalow. It was a very cosy area in the garden and with the swimming pool. The food was very nice and the staff were very kindly and helpsom. Smile House is located on a nice, quite place. Much more relaxing than Chaweng. The beach was nice, but the water is not so clear that Chaweng Beach. If we come back to Koh Samui we will stay at Smile House. |
Very good. Will use Sawadee next time also. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Our family just returned from an 8 night stay in a 2 bedroom chalet at the Smile House resort and loved every moment of our stay! The rooms were large and roomy with plenty of storage and closet space. The bathrooms are stocked with nice amenities and there is a fully stocked mini bar. The mini bar prices are reasonable, but we found the small market 2 doors down and the 7-eleven just down the road to be very cheap (2 liters of water and 4 cans of soda for US$2.78) so we just took out theirs (which are marked with their stamp) and put in ours. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and perfectly manicured with a pool towards the back of the property and an infinity-style pool at the front of the property. Crossing a small street (more the size of an alley way) is the lovely Smile house restaurant which overlooks the ocean and offers a wonderful buffet breakfast. The service was excellent and the reception assisted us in booking the best day trips. Many companies do not accept credit cards so it was nice that we could book excursions and charge to our room and then pay with our credit card at checkout. Check in and check out took only moments which is nice compared to some hotels which feel the need to take forever in finding your room information. We will definitely come back again in the future. Bophut Beach is excellent for families with children and teenagers as it s not a party area and is extremely safe to walk about anytime with no moon parties to worry about. Easy access to other beaches, sites and day excursions and plenty of restaurants and shopping. |
Excellent and very easy. Absolutely no problems at check in upon arrival. Our room was ready by 11am. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Very nice and tidy hotel. Good restaurant and overall good service. Recommended. |
Worked well. Would have been better not to have to pay the full cost as deposit before arrival. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Smile House is wonderfully located in Fisherman s Village, Koh Samui. It is basic, but neat and clean. The beds were comfortable and there was a fair selection of western TV stations to fall asleep to! Breakfast was all that was needed (not a huge selection, but certainly enough for a good meal) Lunch and dinner menus and food was excellent. Fresh, appetising and well presented. The staff were all freindly and the rooms were cleaned very quickly and efficiently in the mornings. I unfortunatly learned of the death of my father whilst I was there and had difficulty trying to get back to Singapore from Koh Samui as all the flights were full. Whilst the hotel staff tried to help, I felt that they could have been a bit more forthcoming with suggestions and assistance. I do understand though, that this was a situation out of the norm, and people didn t quite know what to do. All in all, I would recommend Smile House as a great and restful place to stay. Good value for money too. |
Easy and straightforward. Response time on queries was exceptionally fast. I felt as though I was a person, not just a booking number! Well done. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Very pleasant stay in a comfortable, spacious hotel, situated in a paradisiac place. Very good service and adorable staff. To recommend and stay to begin again |
easy to access at this service. Well made, very clear indications. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Absolutely wonderful. Lush gardens, clean and inviting swimming pool areas, lovely beach bar and restaurant serving very reasonably priced and enticing food but most of all clean and spacious bungalows and villas. And a major plus point they were serviced everyday no matter what time we stumbled out of bed. Would most certainly recommend this place to friends and family. Tracy, April 2008 |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We were two adults and two children (8 & 11 YO) staying in a deluxe bungalow just outside the pool and near the reception. The room was lovely and there were no problem to sleep three in the big bed. The staff was very good - especially the staff in the restaurant. Very polite and eager to serve well! The location is probably the best in Bophut area - very close to the beach and Fisherman Village. We will definitely return to Smile House if we revisit Bophut. |
Excellent as usual. This is a booking service you really can trust. |
| Terri Errington 2008-03-08 until 2008-03-15 |
Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Absolutely loved our 7 night stay at Smile House Resort. Rooms were really clean and comfortable, staff very helpful, gardens a tropical paradise and both pools in excellent condition. It was very quiet - no trolleys rolling down the path or noisy vacuum cleaners when staff doing the cleaning. We loved eating at the restaurant with beautiful views straight out over the ocean - we plan to return to Smile House again. |
Booking service was quick and efficient and would definitely use them again. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach This hotel was perfekt for us, a family with two children 8 and 5. We stayed in a big bungalow with two bedrooms and two bathrooms! We stayed in SM 15 but our friends stayed in SM 16 wich had a big terrace. The restaurant and pool was excellent. The whole village was nice and cosy, not like hectic Chaweng! If we come back to Samui, we will definately stay at Smile house! |
Very good! |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Really pretty hotel. We only stayed for 1 night before heading to Koh P. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast which was in the price was delicious. We loved the place and it was a shame we didn t stay longer. The gardens were pretty and the swimming pool gorgeous :) I can t say much about the area as we only stayed as a stop over until we got the ferry the following morning. One thing I would say is that the receptionist that checked us in was very pushy about getting us to book our taxi and ferry with her to Koh Phangan and became quite abrupt when we said we can do it ourselves.....commission maybe? Apart from that, lovely, enjoy your stay :) |
fine :) |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach very good, good value for money. We stayed in room SM 16, (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and a rather large veranda) which was very comfortable for us with 2 young kids. The beach is not the best of Samui, but OK for us. Resort has a nice and good beach restaurant in the evening. Bophut is a nice village for a stay of several days with enough shops and restaurants. Beautiful garden with 2 pools, however I hate the behaviour of claiming a chair with towels before breakfast, and just use it later that day.... I would recommend this resort to everybody. |
very good, fast respons |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Nice deluxe bungalows, cleen, and good service. Location is good, the restaurant is good but a little expencive. Some noise from the jazzuci infront of our room. And some heavy nigth party with loud music from danish students staying at the resort.A little too bad as we clould not enjoy the nice warm evenings on our terrase, because of the party going on next door. I would recoment Smile house to tell guests that this has turned into a heighschool. We might as well have stayed in the heart of Cherweng beach. |
Good as always. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Great resort! Nice, quiet, family-friendly facilities. Nice bungalos. Good breakfast that is included. The beach in front of the resort isn t great, but the 2 pools make up for this. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We recently married in Bo Phut and based all our friends and family at Smile Guest House. It was a perfect location - Smile is even nicer in reality than in the pictures, has superb staff, spacious clean comfortable rooms, a fantastic pool, great breakfasts, and the sea is lapping on your doorstep. Bo Phut is the perfect base for a holiday and Smile is just at the end of the village, so all in all this hotel excellent, great value for money, and highly recommended by us. On an added note, one of our group was badly injured in a boating accident and could not travel for some weeks - Smile went beyond the call of duty to help during a stressful time. |
No problems at all. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach The best value resort in Bophut. Lovely peaceful pool, plenty of sunloungers to go round! Superior bungalow fully kitted out - would recommend....even came with resident furry cat to smooth on the veranda! |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Smile was fantastic - very good value for money. Bungalows were clean and smart, gardens provided beatiful tropical setting, swimming pools were fantastic and very clean, staff were friendly and efficient. Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach We are now back home after travelling through Laos and Cambodia when we left Smile House. We stayed at Smile House for a week - our daughter had her wedding at Anantara Resort and most of the guests stayed at Smile House We were very impressed with Smile House and very happy to recommend them to anyone wanting a great place to stay at very resanable rates. The whole complex from rooms to grounds, pools and restaurant were of a high standard and staff friendly and accommodating when a relative was injured and needed extra assistance. I would have no hesitation in recommeding a stay at Smile House whether for a group, family or couple. |
Booking were simple and accurate through their booking service |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach When I first arrived my first thought when I walked into our room was that it didn t quite look like how I remembered it in the photos on the internet. However it didn t take long to appreciate what a great place it is to stay at. Firstly I found the staff incredibly helpful and friendly and they kept the entire place, gardens and pool included, immaculate. It was just on the edge of the main shops in Bo Phut, so a very short walk to the local restaurants and shops. The beach was just across the road if you wanted to take a dip in the sea but with 2 gorgeous pools at the Resort we found we swam in the pools instead. Smile House have a restaurant also where breakfast is served as a buffet and the cost of breakfast is included in the cost of the room which is fantastic. The staff at the restaurant were always welcoming and provided fantastic service every time that we ate and drank there. I would highly recommend Smile House Resort as a place to stay. |
Fantastic service, so prompt with advising when bookings were complete and thank you for arranging the transfers too...made things very simple. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach Great value for money. Rooms were clean and well maintained set in lovely gardens. Both pools were excellent with beach across the road. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Excellent location with shops restuarants and bars of Fishermans village on the doorstep. Would reccommend Frog and Gecko with good food and friendly staff. The beach as Bohput is OK but worth going to Chewang as the beach there is far superior and lively approx 15 mins by taxi. Overall would highly recommend this resort. |
Excellent service and easy to book. |

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach The Smile House is absolutely fantastic. My wife and I stayed there for the 1st time in the last week of january. The bungalows were clean, spacious, well appointed and perfect for a chill out. The gardens are superb and we found the staff to be happy and very helpful. We recommend the breakfast in the restaurant and had several excellent evening meals in there. Mr Chow and the staff there were great fun and very friendly. Overall the Smile House is excellent value for money and better than some hotels we have stayed on Samui that are several times the price! In the words of the Terminator We will be back! |
Splendid also trouble free and reliable. Made our holiday so easy to arrange. |
