I wouldn t hesitate to recommend Centara Grand and would one day look forward to again staying here. The hotel is like an oasis on crowded chaweng, nice and quiet and top service oriented staff. Next time on Samui, we se this hotel as our first choise. Price high but not for what you get.	as always it worked perfect. Werry pleased for effords put in to book the same room number when we extended our stay, twice.

The BEST pool area, numerous water-rooms + activity areas (if you wish !) alternatively - v.easy to find a sunny, quiet spot. A FAB hotel for All ages, who want to chill . Rooms; sound-proof, well appointed ( extras v.reasonable). Walk-ways + common areas; vast, cool + protected. Food; GREAT (we re Aussies). Staff; smiling + genteel- no issues, a seamless fortnight. The Library + New Star also recommended (mix it up, stay at a few, deny yourself nothing) ENJOY !	Very pro-active, e-mailed all replies- promptly. Inspired confidence. They even gave us a complimentary upgrade to a better room with a fabulous view as they had to accomodate a group. The staff was very courteous.A special thank you to the hotel staff for finding my wallet in the room safe and coming to the airport to hand over the same to me. It saved me from ending a happy vacation disastrously.will definitly stay there again if opportunity permits.
N.Becker 2008-04-05 until 2008-04-10	Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Chaweng Beach We were guests at the Centara Grand Beach Restort for the 3rd time already. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Rooms were renovated recently and are up to date. The pool area was also refurbished and is nice but it can t compete with newer 5* hotels. What annoid us was the useless pool towel policy, where you have to deposit a towel card to get a towel. The pool towels were quite old and dirty. The beach is fantastic and the location of the hotel is very convenient for shopping+dining. The hotel was fully booked at the time of our visit (80% Germans) but due to the wide garden, we never felt overcrowded. Hotel staff was friendly, fast and helpful.	Fully met our expectations

Nice restaurants and bars, exellent food, but slow service. We had to call every afternoon to get the room cleaned. Not walue for money. Stay away if you don t bring a bunch of kids.	Very good.
Desilvestri 2007-11-26 until 2007-12-03	Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Chaweng Beach The Hotel has still a large part under reconstruction and in the evening when you go out and in coming back you can see ( and breathe) clouds of powder coming out from the wall. The room was not so big but always clean and in order. When we arrived we had to wait for the room a little bit less then 2(two) hours and the staff was non so usefull and polite as the thai people usually are. The seem to be bored many times This hotel is a 4-5 stars just for the price; for itself it should be good 3 stars.For less (I paid URO 126 per night) you will find better places	booking service was good

It should be a good 2-3 stars, for the price I paid (Euro 126 per night) you could easily found something better. This big hotel was under re-construction for a large part(50% of the total rooms were unavailable) and it caused a lot of pouder that you could see (and breathe) when we were not on the beach. By the way the room was always clean and nice but not so big. The service was not so fair: we had to wait about 2(two)hours before entering into the room and the the working people seemed to be not as polite as Thai are used to be.	booking service o.k.
Haley Smith 2007-08-20 until 2007-08-25	Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Chaweng Beach Good points: very helpful, friendly staff, good central location on a slightly quieter stretch of beach, very attractive gardens, lovely large pool, plenty of sun loungers, excellent breakfasts (choose the quieter outdoor area by the Japanese Restaurant because the main area is a bit crouded). Slightly disappointing points: we were allocated rooms on the yet to be refurbished area and found them to be rather tired although I think they will all be renovated soon. I totally agree with the previous reviewer in that the town is a very busy and noisy with the cab drivers hooting their horns and very loud hailers advertising Thai Boxing. At times there was a very bad drain smell and there are some over zealous sales people. If you re looking for an authentic unspoilt Thai experience then Chaweng is not the place for you! I wish we d spent less time here and longer on Ko Tao - more peaceful and beautiful.	Perfectly efficient and user friendly.

We stayed in a double room The Club and really felt a touch of luxury with access to a special lounge and other benefits. The hotel, the restaurants and the beach left nothing to be desired, with a friendly and service minded hotel staff and a lot of sawadee-krap. We felt less about the town/main street of Chaweng Beach, which we found with too much traffic, too narrow side walks, to many shops seeling junk/fakes, too pushie sales persons and less pleasant smell from the gratings of the drain/sewer running in the middle of the street. We found the hotel resturants to serve excellent food (Spicey Island ended up being the favourite) with indiviual levels of hot to suit european tolerance limits. The hotel beach was quiet with all facilities and rentals. Plus is given for the arrangement with the beach sellers , who were not allowed to approach the guests on their sun beds, but had to try to present their merchandise at a 15 meter distance. Centara is not the cheapest accomodation around, but we found it value for money.	Booking via internet went reasonably well. It took 4-5 e-mails back and forth before the hotel could confirm what was really available and what was not. We got however a small discount for this additional trouble, so we as costumers ended up quite satisfied.
Rajeev Bakshi 2007-07-14 until 2007-07-20	Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Chaweng Beach Very difficult time and not enjoyable.I had paid almost usd 500 per night for a Pool room.However they gave me a room which had construction going on in the 2 adjoining room with considerable noise and dirt .On protesting they assigned me a Suite after 2 days which was OK but again in the middle of the construction site.Too expensive for the service,very poor staff.It will struggle to be equal to a 4 Star status.Only positive is the location and a good family oriented atmosphere.but I will not visit the hotel again.

Garrett Stokes 2006-07-24 until 2006-07-31	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach We had a lovely week in the central samui beach resort. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and it is a beautiful island.The hotel is right on the beach and also has several good swimming pools. the grounds are extremely attractive. the only slight downside was that the bedrooms were a little on the small side when you add in an extra bed for a child.

Friendly staff, good food at restaurant(must recommend the bbq night). We required 2 rooms as our 2 children (12 & 14) travelled with - they gave us 2 rooms with interleading door. Rooms very nice and spacious. Do not visit end of November, as this year the island was flooded, and the airport was closed for all flights twice. Best time to visit - January.	Very good - was worried about paying such a big amount to foreign company - no problem.

Elaine Vandenberg 2005-09-25 until 2005-10-02	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach Although when we arrived there the hotel had overbooked they organised our family (our 3 children) to stay at the Santaburi resort which was absolutely magnificent. We were there for 3 days and 3 nights and then Central samui hotel picked us up and we had our 2 interconnecting rooms. They also gave us all a complimentary dinner which we used the next night at a Surf n Turf buffet on the beach (fantastic). The hotel staff were extremely friendly, polite, efficient and helpful. The hotel was in a great position, not right in the noise and bustle of Chaweng but close enough to walk to it. Lots of great restaurants and shopping very close by. Beach was fantastic. WE swam in it every day. Make sure you pick your lounge for the day with a towel as people do this very early and if you dont you are stuck with finding a lounge seat for the day. Very busy with lots of people. I would recommend this hotel. Breakfast buffet was fantastic Rooms were clean. Our kids were treated really well here and they had lots of organised activities for adults and children.	Very efficient and always replied promptly with my questions. Everything was in order. Hotel was one who overbooked not Sawadee.
Santha Keith 2005-07-03 until 2005-07-15	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach good location. gym was unimpressive with only one treadmill which was always in use. also gym wasn well maintained (machines weren t properly oiled). rooms a little small. however service was efficient. we couldn t lock our safe one night and the staff noticed this and double locked our room till we returned. we were asked to recheck what was in our safe. everything was in order so this gave us confidence in the hotel and staff. beach was lovely. we had a great time on the island and will rememember this holiday for a long time.	very efficient even though our requests were complicated. everything was in order at each hotel we booked in with sawadee.com. definitely recommend their service which was efficent and prompt.

Though not in the heart of the most crowded part fo Chaweng Beach but that s exactly the beauty of it. Breakfast is great.However I would consider this Hotel is a bit old.	Very smooth and efficent!!
Robert C. Kolodny 2005-06-10 until 2005-06-24	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach This is a lovely, friendly hotel, but it is most certainly not in the 4 or 5 star category. The hotel s major pluses are its inviting, very large pool, its excellent stretch of beach, and its well-kept, lush, quiet grounds, as well as a generally friendly and attentive staff. However, it should be pointed out that the rooms (and furnishings) are quite dated and not particularly spacious, and the hotel charges sometimes outrageously for certain services -- for example, for internet access (which was only available from 9 AM to 9 PM in their only sporadically air-coniditoned internet lounge, and which had a very poor ISP, resulting in lots of time wasted waiting for web pages to load or email to be sent) and for bottled water or juices or sodas poolside or at the hotel s restaurants or bars. In addition, the rooms have surprisingly little storage space in both drawers and closets, although to the hotel s advantage, everything was kept clean and housekeeping services were excellent. Although I noted before going that many people commented in their reviews very positively on the hotel s food, I thought it was not much more than average and was certainly quite overpriced compared to restaurants in town (although the general quality of cuisine on Koh Samui is lacking). Other than watersports, the hotel has few recreational facilities -- one outdoor ping pong table, one pool table, less than great exercise equipment -- and the evening entertainment was akin to what you might expect in a high school talent show. It s surprising in today s world to find that the hotel s TV service didn t include any version of CNN; in fact, there were only 4 TV channels in English. In summary, Central Samui Beach Resort is a friendly, adequate place, but it s not sumptuous.	Excellent and efficient
CLAUDINE RODRIGUES 2005-06-06 until 2005-06-12	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach Although this is not a cheap hotel you certainly get what you paid for. we had a very comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were well maintained. I would love to come back here to stay. The only part they may want to improve on is the Kids Club which did not really have that many activities for the kids.	My first use of this service, very user friendly and prompt.
Paul 2005-05-04 until 2005-05-16	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach great hotel and the service is excellent, very relaxing and the location to the main strip for shopping bars and restuarants is just right, your not in the thick of the hustle and bustle, but within two minites walk you are there..the location on the beach is perfect, you will struggle to find better.. if i had one minor grumble. perhaps the speed and cost of internet use, but hey..your on holiday so relax...	every thing went exactly to plan no problems no worries.. thank you

Andy Davis 2005-03-30 until 2005-04-09	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach Excellent hotel! The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, polite and efficient. The gardens were immaculate and gave a spacious feel to the hotel. The layout and landscaping of the swimming pool and gardens avoided the sunbeds being crammed in too closely together or packed around the swimming pool. Facilities (gym, tennis, watersports etc) and activities for adults and children were very good. The restaurants at the hotel all offered excellent quality of food and service (albeit they were quite a bit more expensive than some of the local restaurants). The only slight fault I could find would be that the massage I had at the hotel s Spa, although very good and in luxurious surroundings, was overpriced when compared with one I had in the main street of Chaweng. The higher prices of the hotel s restaurants were worth it, but the massage was probably not, in my opinion. We took a long time in choosing this hotel against others in Samui and read a lot of reviews. Whilst in Chaweng we took a look at some of the other hotels we had shortlisted (e.g. Amari Palm Reef, Banana Fan Samui, Pavilions)for future reference. We weren t disappointed in our choice even though it was one of the more expensive hotels. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and when we return to Koh Samui we will have no hesitation in booking this hotel again. Hope this is of use in choosing your hotel!	Very efficient. I had a couple of queries regarding rooms, location and transfers which were dealt with very quickly and efficiently.
Philip Connolly 2005-03-27 until 2005-03-31	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach I came to The Central Samui Beach Resort from The Amari Palm Reef Resort as I was unable to book a full seven nights at either Hotel therefore a compromise was called for. Overall, the Hotel was very nice if not quite up to the service standards of European/Americian 5* Hotels, this is Thailand after all. The location for me was excellent as I like to be in the middle of things but it was busy, very busy. The Amari I felt was smaller and seemed slightly friendlier whereas, The Central was Grander and more formal, both are good choices for different reasons. Which would I choose again...Proberbly The Amari as the Junior Suite I enjoyed was steps from the beach and the view really was something. Bottom line is you can t really go wrong with either Hotel. We had an extremely lovely and delicious meal on the beach - highly recommended. Would recommend this resort to anyone coming to Koh Samui. We look forward to returning. The only way to get a sun bed was to get up early & put your towel out. Most people did this & then wandered off to do whatever they were going to do which I thought was fairly selfish. Staff were very friendly, couldn t do enough for you. Good location along Chaweng Beach. Probably the pick of resorts in this area.	Efficient, easy & reliable.

Nice pool and a wunderful, every day cleaned privat beach right in front. The Location of the Hotel is perfect: All you need during the day, lot s of action in the evening at Chaweng Road (just a few steps away) and quite during the night. We did love our stay ath Central Samui Beach and for sure, we will come again.	Booking by internet was easy, price-value ratio is very good, easy for check-in with the voucher.

The rooms are just above basic (even for a coastal resort)The staff confused us with another guest and filled in the wrong details on registration, delivered mail for yet another guest to our room. Failed to arrange the requested transportation back to the airport. Not impressed!	Booking service good. Secure, delivered everything we asked for. Would use again.

I would rate it 4 and half star compared to hotels in Hong Kong, Australia & USA. The hotel is by a beautiful stretch of beach that the hotel keeps clean, lovely for swimming in. The pool is lovely although we spent our time on the beach. The gym is pretty good by Thai standards. Breakfast was very good. Service was good although the housekeeping & reception understanding requests like adaptor for plug and bring me a laundry bag (eventually received!). Was told by sawadee.com that they have ADSL available in rooms - this was not true - only 28.8 K modems (including their business centre) - good for privacy, too slow to do much. However there are many Internet cafes (using ADSL) on Chaweng Beach Rd if you don t require privacy when checking email. The hotel is not by the noisy part of town, with the wonderful Betelnut restaurant nearby. We would stay here again for sure. It s not cheap though at 5200B/night (including tax & breakfast)	Good. They first told me I could pay a deposit and the balance payment at the hotel yet once I paid the deposit; they immediately started demanding payment of the balance and said they would take the money from our credit card. Also the dates the hotel had available rooms kept changing. It was a little confusing to me. However they were polite and after we phoned them to ask about the balance payment (apparently you HAVE TO PAY in advance) we made the payment. Sawadee also got the info about Internet speeds in the rooms wrong. Like the site though as you get to write a review! :)

The beach is nicer than in any other place and it is very close to the night life. The hotel is gorgeous and staff made our stay very pleasant. I will recommend it to everybody!	Very easy! Will never use travel agent again!

The Resort is absolutley lovely and very glam. The Beach is wonderful and the pool very nice!!! Love the pool bar! The staff are fantastic. Very friendly and polite. Two lovely spots for breakfast. Very big resort, so if you don t like big then it is maybe not for you. Walked the entire beach strip on Chaweng and thought it looked the nicest by far! Good gym facilities and just walk out the hotel gates to lots of good shopping and restaurants. Grounds are beautiful. If you want a sun lounger by pool you need to secure one by 10am at latest. Highly recommend this resort for a lovely, glam holiday	Booking service was good. Much cheaper than booking with Travel Agent and no problems at all.

Miss Pooneh Youssefi 2004-06-30 until 2004-07-05	Central Samui Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach probably the best hotel on chewang beach. Great white sand beach front. It has a fabulous spa (although a bit pricey) but it was voted the best in the Ko Samui local magazine. They even do spas for couples with discount and it includes a jacuzzi filled with flowers (very romantic). The hotel food is great and there is beach front restaurant which has various themes at night. The hotel is next to good internet, washing, and supermarket facilities and a couple of great shops. The busy area of chaweng is about 5 mins by car which is great because the road is not too busy near there. The breakfast is good. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful and overall their English is better than expected for thailand. Overall, was an excellent place to stay and equal if not better than 5* European style hotels in the same area.	Fast and erficient and the hotel had no problems recognising the vouchers.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to be within walking distance to nightlife and restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay there. We found the hotel to be in good condition, the rooms luxurios (Thai Style) and beautiful premises. A little off Chaweng, though the `street` sort of moved south over the last years. Lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood and the hotel is definately located at the best part of the Chaweng Beach. Breakfast was good, but why is the chef at the `Eggstand` never there when you want an omelett made? Lots of friendly staff in the restaurant for brekfast, but why are there never any who can serve a second cup of coffee? And why do I have to be `force-fed` with classical music, when listening to the sea and the birds would have been so much more tranquil and de-stressing? When we had lunch at the Sea-breeze restaurant, we ordered hot chili sauce together with the food. When the food arrived, the chili sauce was not there. Asking for it, we were assured it would come in a minute. Long minutes....? We waited til the food was cold, then we ate, and half-way through our meal, the chili sauce came. Why does it have to take so long? I mean; chili - Thailand? When we checked out, the reseptionist decided when the hotelcar should pick us up for driving us to the airport. So why did we have to wait 20 minutes until the car showed up? The overall question turned out to be; why do I have to wait som much? Always? Anyhow the hotels appearance was so good, we will return! Two comments: 1) need more workout machines such as another treadmill because I went several times and ALL machines were busy. 2) I would have liked sheets underneath the duvet.	The booking service was fine.

Service from staff was friendly and efficient, room was clean and had a great outlook of Chaweng beach and the food was great. Would recommend this resort to anyone. Would also concur with previous comment re: gym equipment	No problems at all.
