Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Lovely hotel and grounds. We stayed in a poolside terrace room- this was ideal as was ground level. The rom was clean and comfortable. fresh towels daily and everything you would expect down to razor kit, sewing kit etc. 2 free bottles of water daily. fresh fruit daily. breakfast was brilliant- lots to choose from. Main restaurant was excellent although more expensive than restaurants along the beach, although some of those event hough they looked a bit dodgy the food was ok. Staff and service excellent- all very helpful outside the hotel there is nothing much to do or see though and its a bit like beirut before or after the bombing.there is a free shuttle bus to the main town (free in day but small fee in the evening)this town , chewang i think it was called was just one long road full of shops with trinkets etc for sale. we did have a good time thoough- it was our wedding anniversary during the week and the hotel made us a cake- how sweet!! |
excellent service |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Thanks to Boat House and Sawadee, we all had a great time. Especially our 14-month-old son loved the beach. Staff is extremely friendly and ready to help 24/7. Great landscape. We originally booked for 3 nights but then extended it to a week. Honeymoon suit was spacious and comfortable. Only negative issue were the mosquitos. Breakfast was rich in choises. Beach resataurant was good but pricy, so we tried other restaurants nearby, or went easily to Chaweng with shuttle of the hotel. |
perfect timing and organization. thank you very much!!! |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach We got back from IBH last week and had a wonderful holiday. The hotel is excellent: great location, delicious buffet breakfast, clean rooms, spacious bathrooms (we were not staying in a boathouse, bathrooms look smaller in them), friendly staff, great swimmingpools, great beach (no rocks in the sea in front of the beach) and acceptable beach sofa s and umbrella s. The restaurant is maybe a little disapointing, but there are great alternatives on the beach in restaurants next door. With regards to the noise from the nearby construction site: it was never a disturbing factor for us, definitely not at night (noise of the airco filters out the noise from outside), just ask for a room away from the construction site. |
Excellent service and follow up! |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach just got back from boat house. in my opinion do not waist your money on the boat house ,rice barge accomadation.they are in very poor condition also if it rains they are very dangerous and slippery all they are is a novelty the other rooms are first class hotel and staff are first class at the moment building work next door this didnt bother me but many guests complained very noisy if you would like any other information on hotel and area feel free to email me on barrieking@blueyonder.co.uk |
absoulutely first class would always use them when traveling to thailand |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach We have just arrived home from our honeymoon in the South of Thailand. We stayed at the Imperial Boathouse for 3 nights. The first 2 nights were before travelling to Koh Tao and the last night was upon our return from Koh Tao. The first two nights were great. We were greeted by Pla and she was exceptional. She spoke fairly clear english and always understood our questions. She was our go to girl for booking tours, transport and anything we needed! We were upgraded from a Deluxe to a Premier room because it was our honeymoon. We had a large bath (which was cold before it actually filled up) and a seperate shower. Overall we were very pleased with the room, the service and the hotel as a whole. We really enjoyed the time in Samui and were excited about the fact we were returning in a few days. The last night we were there we were put in a deluxe room which faced the construction happening next door, which was very noisy. In addition, the room had a joint bath/shower with one of those hand held showers. The water pressure would continually change while you were trying to shower. We complained so they went to move us into another deluxe room which had 2 single beds and still faced the construction! We complained again and were then moved to a pool terrace room. It was away from the construction but still had hand held shower. The water pressure was normal so it was better then the first 2 rooms! We were quite excited about the fact we would see Pla again but it was her day off. We were disappointed but obivously understood she deserves a day off! It just felt like we were in a different place without her. Would probably stay there again )but insist a room away from construction and book premier room) |
Sawadee were perfect. We booked a number of hotels and arranged transport through the site and the travelling was smooth sailing. No complaints. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach We had a nice stay at this hotel, We had a pool side room which was very clean and had a very nice patio, all cleaned on daily basis. A complimentary fruit platter is also provided daily. Staff is generally nice, swimming pool and beach are good for children. Breakfast was very generous and Food served in the restaurant was very good however an additional 10% service and 7% tax is charged on the total making this the most expensive place on the beach. We tried few places in the adjacent resorts where we also had good food at a fraction of the price. A free shuttle service to Chaweng is offered 3 times a day, charges applies at other times. A new resort is been built next door and some tolerable noise can be heard at times and a big crane is visible from the pool. Overall very good for couples perhaps more activities to entertaining children would make this place perfect. |
Good and fast |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach The hotel is very nice and the staff is friendly. Good location on a quiet beach. Just a short ride to Chaweng and shopping. The restaurant serves good european food, but if you want to eat Thai food you can get the same food for half the price on one of the restaurants on the beach. We came to Koh Samui after spending one week on Koh Tao. We wanted to continue diving on Koh Samui, however the dive trips from Koh Samui is by speed boat up to Koh Tao - so if you want to dive travel to Koh Tao - not Koh Samui. |
No problems |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Good hotel - reasonably priced including bar meals and drinks. Evening food is slightly more expensive, however was one of the best meals I had on Koh Samui. |
Fantastic service. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach The hotel was generally good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the diving shop was excellent. However we did have some problems that took a little of the shine of the stay. First, was the construction site next door of which we were not advised before booking. The construction was noisey and if you made use of the beach side massage (an excellent little service) the building they are located withn actually shook. Secondly the A/C leaked on our first night and left a puddle in the middle of the floor, however to the hotels credit it was repaired within an hour. Thirdly if your airport pick up is later than the check out time you can book a shower room. Unfortunately the A/C in the shower room we were allocated did not work and we ended up having a sauna. In summarry this is a good hotel which is a bit old and needs a soft refurbishment and will be a lot better of when the construction next door is finished. |
Booking service was good and efficient but should have advised of the construction before the booking was completed. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach An excellent hotel with all that you can wish for! Beautiful place on a quiet, white-sandy beach, very friendly staff who love children, good food, excellent rooms, nice, big swimmingpools and walking distance to other good restaurants on the beach. A good base for exploring the island and taking daytrips to the surrounding islands. Can be recomended to people of all ages, with or without children. |
Very good and reliable booking-service. Quick response to all our questions. |
| Annie Comben-Lindsay 2006-12-07 until 2006-12-11 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach The hotel is positioned on what is claimed to be one of the best beaches on Koh Samui, we were really disappointed, the amount of rubbish/debris was an eyesore. The hotel patch of beach was kept clean though. The resort itself is a gem. The poolside rooms were clean and well presented. Both pools were clean with ample sun beds. The staff were very friendly and always stopped to speak. The breakfast is of a fair standard with a little to suit all tastes. There is a free shuttle into Chewang for shopping. A day at the other Imperial Resort (Chewang) is worth doing, again a shuttle runs to and from the boathouse. There are a few eateries outside the resort and a 7/11 for any essentials. We can recommend the on site tailors (Rashid) having used several tailors around town for suits and shirts we found her deals and advice the best. A very relaxing break the only bad point in my opinion being the beach. |
No problems with the booking/payment/confirmation |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach I had a lovely large room with view of the gardens. The swimming pools are beautiful and the beach is wonderfully quiet and clean. I found great cheap Thai food on the beach (first place as you turn right on the beach from the hotel). I listened to advice from this website re: not eating dinner at hotel and that was a good decision (mainly due to cost). Staff are extremely helpful and very nice. Don t go here if you want exciting nightlife on the beach though! But a perfect place for a quiet friendly beach experience |
excellent and very helpful |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach our room a premier deluxe was very nice plenty of room for myself my husband and our two children it was cleaned every day and fresh towels replaced, breakfast was an excellent buffet every day with as much as you could eat, main meals were good with a selection off the menu, but along the beach was a good selection of places to eat if you dont want to eat in the hotel, the staff are very friendly and absolutely love children , however if your kids dont like the beach or the pool there isnt much else for them to do.In the hotel they have themed nights 3 times a week but apart from that no other entertainment. apart from minor details we had an excellent holiday and would recommend the Imperial Boat House |
very easy no problems would use again. |
| Tim Mitchell 2006-08-07 until 2006-08-17 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Our stay at the imperial Boat House exceeded our expectations. Its an ideal location for families or couple wanting peace and quiet. And if you do need more action, Chawan is only 10 minutes away by taxi. Cheong Mong beach is excellent; very soft sand, not too crowded, safe for water sports. The hotel s free of charge windsurfers and kayak were an unexpected bonus. Huge swimming pool. The hotel rooms were spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was very good; other meals were also good but a little expensive. However, there are plenty of restaurants a stroll along the beach for less expensive meals. Overall it is good value for money; however, it best not to use the hotel s extras like mini-bar, laundry and internet - espcially when these are all available for a fifth of the price about 20 yards for the main reception! |
Simple, convenient and problem free |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Charlie Chaplin restaurant, across from the hotel on the main street, has the best REAL Thai food we tasted on the island. The hotel is located right on the beach, with excellent facilities, beautiful gardens and friendly staff. Our family of four had two adjoining rooms. The rooms were very comfortable, beautifully decorated and clean. However, we were very disappointed that our expensive Premier Deluxe rooms had a view of the backs of the rice barges with their noisy airconditioners. These barges are very tall and basically formed a mountain of teak in front of our balconies. Also, we sometimes had to endure the smell of raw sewage just outside our rooms. The hotel should definitely charge less for these rooms since they are not as good as other Premiere Deluxe rooms. If you stay here, just make sure you are not booked into the last block of rooms before the beach. |
Excellent. We will use the service again. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Great hotel! Friendly staff, beautiful beach in a quiet area, very relaxing atmosphere, fantastic garden and swimming pools. |
Very easy and efficient. |
| 2006-01-07 until 2006-01-13 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Hotel was great, direct access to the beach, fantastic spa, good selection at buffet breakfast. Hotel is in a good location as Cheong Mon is far enough away from the madness of Chaweng (10-15min drive) if you don t want an overly hectic hotel. Room was great, well laid out with separate bath nad shower cubicle and importantly for Koh Samui hot water! However the housekeeping/ cleaning wasn t always up to scratch. Would recommend renting a jeep for the day (700 baht) to drive round the island. Taxis are much more expensive in Koh Samui than Bangkok or even Phuket. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Wonderful. Didn t want to leave! We chose one of the new rooms overlooking the first pool area, not one of the more expensive rice barges. Room was excellent. The gardens are superb - a real joy to walk through and look at. The first pool is beautiful. Then you walk down past the barges to the boat shaped pool by the beach. Also excellent. The beach is great, and the hotel offers free sunbeds and water sport equipment. Hotel staff were very nice, and the room was well cleaned each day, with fresh towels daily. Breakfast buffet was great. Hotel is on a small crescent shaped beach in the north-east corner of the island. The busy shops and bars etc of Chaweng beach are about 10 minutes away by car. Hotel offers free shuttle in daytime, then for 75 Baht per person in the evening. Fairly standard taxi rate is 300 baht either way, although you might be able to get it for less. But if you can survive without the crowds of Chaweng, stay on the beach, where there are several restaurants and bars offering good food at cheap prices right on the beach. The hotel is on the expensive side, but not unreasonably so for the quality offered and the location. |
Perfect. Thank you so much! |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach lovely hotel very comfortable rooms with free movies, free sea canoes. nice massage ladies and loads of cool beach bars with good food and music. this hotel was so comfy and relaxed we didnt even go into town for 4 days! |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach This time it was the5time in this hotel. We prefere the Hooneymoon-suites or the premier-delux-rooms. The rooms was everytime clean and very cosy. The garden is so beautivoll and the pools too. The breakfast is good. You will have a lot of things, but it is everyday the same, they must chanched the cheese and Sausages and the fruit. They have so many fruits there, so it must be not the same every day. The personal is very friendly and nice. We will come back. |
We booked always with sawadee, and everytime it was very good, no problems and very fast. Everytime again. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach A superb hotel in a good location. We had booked one premier room and one poolside terrace room but on arriving we found no poolside terrace room available-these units had workmen still fitting out them out. However the premier room was excellent and our gfriends were upgraded to a honeymoon suite. The hotel food, service and facilities were of a high standard and the hotel gardens leading down to the beach were very impressive. We found the cost of meals in the hotel restaurant to be expensive but there are plenty of other places to eat just a few yards away.Bongoes restaurant we found to be very good and great value. We would recommend this hotel,we really enjoyed our stay, which was for 12 nights. |
Very good ,all ok except no poolside terrace available which we had booked.Hotel or Sawadee should have emailed us about this prior to our arrival |
| Bernt Abelseth 2005-04-12 until 2005-04-22 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach It is a nice hotel but I think they have one star to many on their web site. The rooms are OK but would need some re-work if the number of stars should be correct. The breakfast was exellent and the staf was very service minded. The food as general was good. The Boat House is an exellent place to bring children as the beach is calm and the two pools are very children friendly. We will come back next year. |
Exellent, no problem. Will use it again. |
| Andrew Peirson 2005-03-27 until 2005-03-31 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach We stayed in a boat suite and although it was a generous size it was a little tired internally, particularly the bathroom, and was not worth the money we paid. That said, the gardens and the pool are excellent and the reception staff extremely helpful and efficient. The boat pool and beach were extremely crowded during the day. For food and drink the beach side restaurants are better value for money, particularly at night. |
Fine |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Very interesting, unusual setting with good facilities for both adults as well as kids (the boat pool is great). We stayed in a Boat-Suite which was sizeable,well-equipped and easily catered to the needs of 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Easily recommendable place with an international crowd of Germans, British and many other nationalities. |
Efficient and without any hickups: Exactely what I would expect from such a service, will certainly use Sawadee in future (but would like to see the Credit Card fee taken away in future - this is not a timely charge in these days) |
| Jennifer & Arno 2005-01-29 until 2005-02-04 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Hotel was beautiful, large and service good. We learned that it was also in the German Neckermann brochures;90% of the other guests were German, and so were the menus etc.If you prefer to be around a bit more of a mixed group of guests, this is probably not the place to choose. |
First class, we use it all the time and recommend it to all our other friends who travel to Thailand. |
| John Hartley 2005-01-19 until 2005-02-03 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach My comments about the Imperial Boat House hotel at Koh Samui are: The gardens, pools and beach acess are superb. The staff are extremely friendly. The breakfast is excellent, but the buffets supplied in the evenings are poor compared to other hotels I have visited in Thailand. In the A la Carte restaurant next to the beach: beautiful setting, but poorly presented meals, vastly overpriced for the quality and appearance etc. We stayed in 1 of the poolside terrace rooms, and had occasion to complain about its cleanliness. The bathroom floor was never cleaned, below the bed had not been cleaned/dusted for quite a long time, the terrace doors windows and bathroom mirror were never satisfactorily cleaned. Despite complaining to reception, this was not rectified during our stay. There was no client relations officer on duty for the whole of our stay. Although the hotel in-room literature states that management/guests cocktail parties are regularly held, forget it! During our 15 day stay, these did not materialise. After trying some of the evening meals, my wife and I then resorted to dining in nearby beach restaurants, as did the majority of visitors staying at the Boat House, and were really pleased with both the choice, cooking, presentation and prices. Because of the comments in this report, we will not be staying at any of the Imperial Group of Hotels in the future. We have travelled extensively in Thailand, and , in the past, have always experienced a far higher standard of service etc. in rival 4* hotels than that supplied by the Imperial Boat House. It would appear that poor management of the hotel could be to blame John & Jean Hartley, Lytham, UK. |
The booking service supplied by Sawadee was faultless and could not be bettered. Highly recommended. |
| Sheila Conway 2004-11-21 until 2004-11-28 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Our third trip to Thailand and we would definitely recommend the Imperial Boat House Hotel. We chose a deluxe room overlooking the delightful gardens and one of the swimming pools which was superb. Breakfast at the hotel was very extensive and could not be faulted. If you don t want to eat or drink in the hotel then it is easy to go to one of the small restaurants/bars located on the beach. Choeng Mon Beach is much quieter than Chaweng which was too busy for our liking. Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back again soon. |
Excellent, very efficient, no problems encountered at all. |
| Linda Young 2004-11-20 until 2004-11-24 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Stayed in the boat suite it was excellent a bit expensive but well worth it. Hotel/pool setting right on beach and the sea fabulous. Pool excellent for swimming also had jacuzzi and laying out areas in the water. Staff very freindly would go back |
Very good service taken to your room by the person who books you in and shown where things are on the way. |
| Joe Halstead 2004-09-26 until 2004-09-29 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach The poolside room was very nice and well kept up for an older hotel. Also the staff are very efficient compared to other hotels on Koh Samui and Phuket. However I would not stay here again because the location is not as interesting as Chaweng or Lamai and I think it is more suitable for families (at the beach) or people who only want to sunbath quielty (by the pool). |

| Jo Rutherford 2004-09-14 until 2004-09-17 |
Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Very impressive hotel - stayed in a boat suite which was delightful. There are 2 good pools and the beach is great (but quite shallow if you are planning to do any snorkelling!). There is a free minibus several times a day into Chaweng - which is useful. A very good buffet breakfast was included. The only downside was the excessive cost for food and drinks at the hotel - there were a number of restaurants on the beach though - with good quality food and drinks at less than half the price! |
No problems - very efficient. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach Imperial Boat House Hotel,Koh Samui I have just arrived home from my stay with you, I have been to Thailand 5 times now and stayed at a variety of beautiful hotels. But I would say, the best by far is the Imperial Boat house. The hotel itself was in beautiful tropical gardens, every morning I awoke to the sight of waving palm trees, exotic vibrant flowers, the sound of frogs in the lilly pond, the cascading of the monkey fountain and the blue sky and warm sunshine. The setting was perfect. The staff were freindly and curtious catering for my every need. The food was superb, a wonderful chioce for every nationality and every desire. The evening buffets and entertainment, magnificent and all at a very reasonable price. My holiday was the most memorable, I shall think of the hotel and my experiences when it is cold and grey in LONDON and I will smile with a memory of PARADISE. To all who are considering a stay at the Boat House I would say, you could not choose better, if you want perfection. I would definatly recomend the hotel and the experience to anyone, couples, famillies, groups old and young, you could not choose better in a perfect location. Regards Sheila Fee |
Very straitforward, nothing too much problem. I would book with them again, very reliable. I would recommend booking with Sawadee.com to all who want the best at a reduced price. |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach We stayed at the Imperial Boat House for 2 weeks during April 2004 and it was fantastic. The drinks and food in the hotel were slightly expensive but we (along with everyone else) bought our drinks from the bar on the beach right next door! Accommodation and Breakfast were excellent. We paid for an upgrade to a poolside terrace room but it was on the wrong side for the sun so probably not worth paying the extra but was every close to the Garden Pool. Apparently the Boats are well worth having but they are lots of extra money! |
Excellent booking service and no problems at all. |
