Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
We had problems with our room on arrival allocated a room next to the road, told our room would be changed the following day.meaning our luggage was unpacked and left waiting the follwing day for a room allocation.Felt this was a bit unjust considering the booking had been made for a year and the hotel was not full.

No problems with our booking handled in a efficent manner.

Hotel has lovely grownds ,room quality is poor for the price. Restraunt good, service efficient be careful of extra charges on the bill.Room service at 4-5pm is a bit early considerig people are in at thi time.No courtesy bus runs costs money on taxis to the central area, watch the cost of a taxi to airport price excessive. You leave the Amari with the feeling they are out to get your money and no concern to cater for the customer.

We travelled as a family of 4 with kids (aged 8 and 10) The Room : Family Delux Duplex Room with Double Bed Downstairs and two single beds upstairs. We felt that the room standard wasn t really comparable to other hotels of similar price range that we have stayed in throughout Thailand. The bathroom was a bit cramped with no bath. The bed seemed a bit hard and the staircase may present problems for very small kids or older people. It could be that other rooms are more modern or have better facilities. We were comfortable but I just felt it was a little expensive for what we got. Facilities : We loved the two large pools (one closes at 7pm but the other remains open for longer which was nice). Also the hotel has recliners on the beach. There was always space and plenty of shade for those who need it (but early Aug isn t high season for them .. so maybe a diff story in Nov/ Dec). Food : Very good and reasonably priced. We often ate at the hotel which has a nice selection of Western and Thai menu s. The Italian Restaurant is excellent. SPA : My wife had foot massage pedicure etc and advised that the facilities were great and that the service was fantastic. Service : This is where we felt the hotel excelled. Any problems were swiftly dealt with and the service was always of a high standard and staff were always very friendly and helpful while at the same time not in any way intrusive. Gripe : I didn t like having to pay for the accomodation in advance as I felt completely locked in and no room for contingencies ... maybe something this hotel should really re-consider. Travel Tip : Bring lots of mosquito repellant :-) In the end a great place to stay. We would certainly stay there again .. but for far longer !

We had no problems, but this was one of the only hotels I have ever stayed at where payment was to be made in advance. It is a bad policy.

We stayed in the thai village opposite side of road next to the swimming pool. We definately recommend this great hotel with its 5 star service and accommodation to all who want real value for money. The food was outstanding and this being our tenth trip to Thailand ,we found Amari Palm Reef to be amongst the best stays in Koh Samui.

The booking was easy and quick and a good way to get a fast booking

Hotel was great, food was wonderful - very good, location was ideal, staff was very helpful. Only comment would be, would be nice if there was a gift shop onsite at the hotel for sundries, etc. Would recommend to anyone else and would go back!

Booking service was very smooth and reliable, communications was ample between booking service and myself. Everything was exactly as we had expected and requested!

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
We had read good things about the Amari, so decided to try it out, having stayed at Nora s, the Chaweng Regent and Central Samui before. Arrival was effecient and friendly. The rooms were, however, adequate (and questionable value therefore)with very small bathrooms where one could hardly fit two people in in any comfort. The shower cubicle was small and cramped. When we arrived we also encountered problems opening and closing the room safe, resulting in having to call for assistance, the kettle needed replacing, and the TV stations had a scarcity of English language programmes compared to other hotels. That being said, the breakfasts were the best we had encountered in any of our previous hotel stays and the bar area was pleasantly decorated and a generous 3 hour happy hour would be welcome if one wanted it. The pools are pleasant but if you want a quieter time use the (bigger) one away from the beach (across the road), as the beachside pool is very heavily used by kids. Food is very good, and the Italian restaurant -Prego- is fantastic, as always.

Booking service, which we have used many times before, was very good. The car pick-up and drop-off arrangement was very efficient and good value.

Don t accept upgrade service, we booked superior room, it was so modern with bath in the picture; however the front desk officer offered the family room upgrade for us, it was not as good as superior, the decor was a bit old, no bath, shower room was very small; over all, the services of the hotel are excellent, everyone is simily & showing their happiness to meet you!

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
The Amari Palm Reef Resort is an absolutely wonderful resort. The room, which was a standard room, was nicely furnished, large enough for our needs, and quiet. The two pools were beautiful, and the grounds of the resort were lovely and well maintained. Breakfast is almost too much. If you can t find something you like, you re just not hungry! The beach is stunning, and the water is really nice. Bring your own snorkeling gear if you have it; you can see quite a number of small fish and crab on the coral about 100 meters off the shore. The only complaint, and it is very, very small, is that if you stay on the beach, the local vendors will come up to you with their goods on a pretty regular basis. This is not a big deal, but if you don t want to be bothered, you can put down your towel on the lounge chair on the hotel grounds just above the beach. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 5/5 stars.

No problems, no hassle. Just good service. Loved the ability to see the reviews of people that stayed in the hotels.

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
Transferred from Baan Chaweng as met up with friends at Amari Palm Reef for the 2nd half of our holiday. Amari Palm Reef is a spectacular resort, two large pools, lots of chairs to lie on and massive towels. It was situated down the end of Chaweng Beach, small walk to shops. Hardly ate anywhere else as the food was the best we have ever had! Did a 3 course set dinner offer for 1350 BHT ea and it was out of this world. 5 courses we could not finish AMAZING FOOD fine dining at such low cost, faultless!!!! Best food on Samui! Cocktail hour fantastic, 2 for 1 at 230 bht each, halve that and you can get drunk very quickly! Service faultless, staff very friendly. Cocktails expertly served and mixed. Lobster night ROCKED! Liked rooms better at Baan Chaweng (bigger and cheaper) but you have to weigh up what you prefer, Amari had great swimming pools. We staying in room 4114 which was ground floor right by pool. Friends stayed in upstairs superior room and had higher ceiling and sep shower to bath (ours was combined) nicer being upstairs to look over pool, but both very nice. Suggest you ask for room across road by 2nd pool, as we would retire there after spending day on beach, and by main pool. If not staying at Amari DEFINITELY eat there it was INCREDIBLE food, cannot say enough! Sell lovely essential oils at Sirvana spa, very cheap. Oh almost forgot BREAKFAST! Oh my god! Food like you ve never seen before!!! Beautiful, lovely resort would recommend to others.

Booking service faultless, easy to use, great f/up on emails, fast and efficient, feel confident to use this great service.

Amari Palm is fantastic. The resort design and facilities are outstanding and the staff are just tremendously happy, helpful people. The breakfasts are a feast and are to die for and the restaurants are very good. Two wonderful swimming pools and a great location. The whole feel of the place runs rings around other options in Samui in this price bracket.

We had no problem - very efficient and we have now used it twice with good results.

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
Just returned from a 12 day stay at the Amari and found it to be nothing less than superb. Its in a great location, far enough out of Chaweng to get some peace and quiet, and only a short walk or taxi ride to the mayhem of Ocean Road. The hotel itself is outstanding. In fact, I would say its probably the best hotel on the strip in Chaweng, the rooms and public areas are beautiful, there s a choice of 2 pools and the service was excellent. The food was good as well, a little bit more expensive than some of the beachside restaurants but I guess you get what you pay for. Would definetely return here in the future.

We had a great time. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The people who work there are friendly and professional. The location is perfect. Close to the centre but less crowded and noisy than there. Simply perfect.

We had already used the service to go to Myanmar and to Puket. It s excellent.

Absolutly wonderful! The hotel is in a quite part of Sawadee but close still close to the center that you can walk. Nice calm beach, wonderful lounge chairs, away from the beach vendores. Very nice pool. I loved the jacuzzi at the pool. I loved the big towels that they had to put on the chairs. We had come from another hotel where the towels were smaller and the skin in contact with the plastic made us sweat. We went on our honey-moon and they had our room very nicely decorated with flowers on the bed and cake and fruit. Very nice touch! Staff is very curtious and reacts right away to any problem. I liked the movie borrowing system they have. The fruit by the pool. The food at the restaurant is wonderful. The best breakfeast I ve ever seen! And there was always something diferent. We Totally recomend this hotel! Thank you for making our honey-moon wonderful! Rolando & Celia

Just wonderful!

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
The Amari is a beautiful property, the rooms are spacious, and the two swimming pools are great. The only draw back was in the family room, the upper level occupied by our children wasn t well airconditioned and pretty warm, and the stairs leading to the upper level are extremely difficult to climb. The breakfast was incredible, and the location was great. The main lobby is under renovation and this was bothersome. Remember never to rent a jeep/car from the travel desk in the hotel, they over charge (charged a 1000 bht, vs. the 700 bht in the market, and gave a terrible vehicle). I recommend staying at this hotel.

Excellent, I was unsure when I charged a large sum of money on credit card, but service was great...nothing to worry.

We surely enjoyed our stay at Amari Palm Reef Resort. The staff is wonderfull as well as the rooms and the surroundings. Unfortunately we did not recognize the activities Amari offers the guests, e.g thai cooking, mountain tour, until our last day at the resort. The reason was that the resorts activities drowned between service informations from different tour-operators which we didn t have interest in. So our suggestion is that resort activities is pointed more clearly out, as a flyer at the room or similar. And we would like internet-access at the lobby or somewhere at the resort-area. Yours sincerly, erik & annette junkerbo, lene & per andersen, denmark

THIS HOTEL WAS VERY NICE. I EMAILED ABOUT 12 HOTELS TRYING TO FIND 2 ROOMS AND AMARI WAS THE ONLY ONE TO EMAIL BACK WITH AVAILABILITY. OUR HOTEL ROOM WAS ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BEACH. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE UPSET ABOUT THAT BUT TURNS OUT IT DID NOT MATTER.ACTUALLY I LIKED THE SET UP BETTER.THE ROOM WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND HAD AN UPSTAIRS WITH 2 EXTRA BEDS IN IT.WE MANAGED TO FIND SEVERAL ENGLISH CHANNELS ON T.V. WE ALSO ORDERED ROOM SERVICE FOR BREAKFAST TWICE AND IT WAS VERY GOOD. THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND THE POOL AND BEACH AREA WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND PRIVATE. WE ENJOYED THIS HOTEL AND WOULD STAY AGAIN.

VERY GOOD

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
Amari Palm is a lovely hotel. Staff was friendly, polite, efficient, and helpful. My girlfriend and I stayed during the peak Chinese New Year holiday. Despite the fact that the hotel was obviously at or very near full capacity, the staff never seemed overwhelmed...service efficiency remained at acceptable levels. The bar and restaurant are very nicely appointed...we especially liked the lounge beds near the bar during the evenings...very romantic and relaxing. Expect many Euro women going topless on the beach. I ll not give any opinion either way on this...simply noting it for prospective guests. The hotel itself is split across two sides of the main Chaweng Beach road, with most of the accomodation units located on the side opposite the beach. This was really no big deal, and two hotel staff are situated at the street crossing to assist with safe passage. There are two pools...one right near the beach, and the other on the opposite side of the road near the Spa. Both are large enough, lovely, and nicely maintained. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main Chaweng Beach tourist areas (bars, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc.). I d say location is pretty much ideal. Having walked up and down the beach several times during our stay, my girlfriend and I came away with the impression that Amari Palm Reef was certainly one of the better hotels on Chaweng Beach. In my opinion, you ll be happy with your stay. If I could offer one word of advice... I noticed several visitors to Samui during my stay who exhibited seriously bad attitudes...no patience with the limited language skills of some locals & seeming disgust/dis-satisfaction with the overall laid back Thai attitude. These people had just way too much impatience and hurry up attitude, in my opinion. Folks, you re in Thailand...the locals move and live at an easier, more relaxed pace here. Please leave your typical, pissy Euro attitudes at home, or do us all a favor & just don t come to Thailand at all.

I had absolutely no problems at all with the online booking service. Highly recommended.

Amari Palm Reef Resort really made our stay in Thailand to the best. Excellent service on all sites, front desk, pool, bar, restaurants, SPA and cleaning of room. The location is perfect 10 min walk to downtown Chaweng but still in the quite area. Would we come again? Definitely as soon as we can!!!

OK.

Amari Palm Reef Resort, Chaweng Beach
The Amari was great. We walked around the other hotels on Chaweng Beach and the Amari seemed to have one of the nicest pool/beach areas. The service was great and the rooms were very nice (ask for one across the street from the beach, they are newer). The only thing the hotel was missing was a gym, but other than that we loved it and would definitely return.

very easy and efficient
