Koh Kradan is the most beautiful island in the Trang. With an area of 600 acres. most of the island (5/6) is under the jurisdiction of Hat Chao Mai National Park. The rest are privately owned rubber and coconut plantations. The island offers good restaurants and accommodation for tourists
About the hotel: First of all, the beach and the sea is amazing! At low tide it doesn´t look that nice but otherwise it is fantastic. Snorkeling is possible from the beach,which by the way never is crowded. The resort is a different story. One amazing fact is that the people working there don´t speak ANY english AT ALL! The delux beachfront bungalow was OK, considering the price, pretty low standard but the island is unexploited so thats ok. What was not OK was 2 things:
1, the breakfast consists of toasted bread and jam, some fruit and NOTHING ELSE.
2, the worst thing: after traveling in Thailand for 20 years I´ve never met unfriendly Thai´s until now. Never a smile, no helpfulness. We where very dissapointed with that.
I wouldn´t go back the way things are.
They charge you 120 bath for a large beer wich kosts 50 bath in Krabi.
Im sure that in a few years this beautifull island wil be overgrown with hotells, maybe the service will be better but the nature and beaches spoiled.
You decide if you want to go. I´m glad we (2 adults and 2 children, 5 and 6 yo) went there but if you want a great place for adults and kids, go to Bundaya hotel on Koh Lipe!
About the hotel: The beachfront bungalow is realy close to the beutiful bech but overprice (2500 BTH. The standard wasn t so good. If we want cleaning up we must tell the staff. In this price it should go with automatic. The breakfast was poor and and most of the staff was not so nice. If I come back to Kradan I go a litle futher on the beach to a nice bungalowplace, sorry can t remember the name of it.
About the hotel: Fantastic situated on the beach. A bit hard beds. The food 50 % ok. Better to dine in the resort next door even if its more expensive.
Lovely beach, just go out when its high tide and begin snorkeling 10 meters out.
About the reservation service: Excellent as usual.
Have now used it for five years and its never gone wrong.

The most striking feature of Koh Kradan is its powdery, White beach and
crystal clear water that permits a great view of the coral reef underneath
that stretches from the beach s northern end to the coast. A variety of
colorful fish inhabit the shallow water corals. Koh Kradan is to the west
of Koh Muk and Koh Libong. From Pak Meng Pier, visitors can take a l.30
- hour trip to Koh Kradan.
It is the place for "The Underwater Wedding Ceremony", to remind
the rest of the world that the Underwater Wedding Ceremony take
place in Trang province every Valentine's Day at Kradan island,
with its pure white sand, clean blue sea and natural environment,
is the location where the ceremony is taken place.
Partly
due to its widely publicized "Largest Underwater Wedding Ceremony"
which earns it an entry in the Guinness Book of Records, Koh Kradan
is now one of the best known islands.
The innovative 'weddings
underwater' first launched in 1997, is now an annual Valentine's
Day event which attracts more people every year, who sign marine
marital commitments in Scuba gear at a depth of 12 meters.
