The excellent hotel, for those to whom is necessary quiet rest. It is located far from a beach, but the problem easily is solved-(us the mistress carried on a beach), a number always costs тук-тук, and to be passed-minutes 15. The friendly, close personnel. Excellent massage. For fans to get warm there is a sauna (30-37 degrees, 2 hours) .High a level of service. Separate gratitude mrs Aranyar Laosakul

Hôtel très sympathique, mais lors de notre réservation, à aucun moment il nous était indiqué que des travaux seraient effectués à 3 mètres de là (période de noel 08) Donc, pour cela, je pemse que c est un grand manque de transparence et de respect.

A strange resort that, frankly, is not worth the money (chalet 5 is the best option). Suggest you stay down the road at the President Hotel instead for half-the-price as you honestly don t need any frills in Ao Nang as everything is on your doorstep.

The resort is absoilutely beautiful and when we arrived it was blisfully sunny and everywhere looked gorgeous. We stayed in villa 5 which was lovley, a little run downa nd could ahve done with a lick of pain in areas anda bit of updating but lovley nevertheless and loads of character. our bath and shower was outdoors which was so romantic but from day 2 the heavens opened and i ahve to admit that our stay was not so great.bathing in the cold rain or showering is not really as romantic and the loo was outside so you had to run form the villa in the rain to the loo everytime you went outside and get soaked. The only wardrobe was outdoors by the loo and this meant all our clothes were constantly damp and no where to dry anything so we had to get eerything laundered. this is however very reasonable. We did however manage to ahve a lovley aromatic bath run for us one evening when the rain stopped and the staff filled with oils and flowers and fresh fruit laid out next to the bath which was heavenly and i would definitley recommend. The massages are also brilliant and i would recommend these in numerous quantities as so relaxing and gorgeous setting whether raining or not. The staff were a pleasure and went out of their way to make our stay as lovley as possible, the only real downfall i would say is that no one warned us it would be monsoon and that the restuarnt would also be closed so the brochure detailling all the lovley food you could ahve was not really accurate, although a good breakfast was served each morning. did i mention the building site next door? Oh yes we were woken up every morning at 7.30am by hammering and banging as abuilding was erected next door, this was something else we were not warned about All in all a beatiful place to stay in high season when the sun is shining znd the building has stopped. Personally i would probably no come back though as we were not very impressed with Ao nang as a whole and found it very touristy and a bit like benidorm in Asia. When the sun is out however i am sure everything improves and i take my hat off to the resort and their staff for making a bad situation a lot better.

Booking service was very efficient but if had been more personable maybe we would have been told about the building works and the time of year we chose to go in not being ideal.

when i arrived i wasnt too impressed as the hotel was virtually hidden off a main road but once you enter the resort you feel hidden from the tourist track. as it has lots of trees and greenery giving it a jungle feel. If you dont like your typical hotel resorts, which are everywhere and you want something different then its ideal. i found the room to be really nice and clean, there is a hotel being built next door, but didnt bother us at all, we were out all day so it was finished by the time we got back. The pool was nice, and on one occasion returning from a long day out, the staff turned on the jacuzzi for us. I have to mention that the staff were outstanding, just so nice and will go out of their way to help you, including lifts to the beach if you dont feel like the walk on a hot day, which is only 15mins at most anyway or a 40baht tuk tuk ride back, and can be nice to take in the main street of ao nang,if going to krabi (ao nang) again i would definetly stay again.

i would highly recommend sawadee to book hotels in thailand.

Great value for money.Great place. Staff very nice friendly and helpful. Some construction work going on next door at the time we stayed but we were put up at the top of the resort so it didn t really bother us. Breakfast was good. Very hilly and steep steps to get to rooms but worth it.

Great booking service.

Very nice resort, beautiful garden and very nature. The staffs are very kindly, clean everyday. The toilet is outside the livingroom and sometimes in the night a bit afraid to go to the toilet. Always checking (dangerous animals) before inside the room. With small children ( we have 3 years old doughter) is not so feeling savety. No place you can walk easyly with your children because the location is like the hill. When we swimming at pool I found green little snake. My husband saw it too but when the man at the resort came is already gone. But they said not often happens. The breakfast is very standard (no other choice).

Sawadee is very good! We have no problem for the second times with checked in.

This resort is the perfect place to rest if you re looking for a quiet, relaxing oasis. The villas are very large, with a fresh basket of fruit and a fully stocked mini-bar. The pool is heavenly, surrounded by thick palm trees and karst hills in the background. If you re lucky, you might even see monkeys! The spa is overpriced, but if ambiance is important to you, than it s worth the money. The staff is more than helpful; very lovely people.

The resort was lovely, just as shown on the Sawadee website. However we were the unlucky ones as we were given a Villa which was nothing like what we saw on the website. All the other Villas had been recently refurbished. Our s must have been used as a store room for a while as it was in such a state. We are in the process of requesting compensation. I hope Sawadee will be as efficient when it comes to giving out compensation. If you do decide to book this resort make sure they dont give you Villa 1. It was so obvious that it wasn t meant to be rented out that it wasnt on their info booklet at the hotel and not even on their own website. We were unable to change room or resort as everywhere was fully booked.

Booking service was great as usual. However I wont book another hotel that requires full payment before you even get there.

Great place for young honeymooners like us, or mid-aged couples looking for memorable romantic nights! Loads of stairs have to be climbed, so if you don t have a pair of healthy legs, I wouldn t choose this. However, we had villa 6; one of the villa s highest on the top, so we had a lot of privacy. Bed was good and klambu was really no luxury considering some mots, bugs and mosquitos flying around at night. Bathing in rose leafs at night in a huge tub surrounded by candles under the stars and palm tree leafs with the background sound of lizards, grasshoppers, birds and a fountain was an unforgettable experience. Positives: ========== - bed - cleaniness - privacy - greens, plants, flowers - huge bath tub - one time we had to leave very early for trip and they packed our breakfast for us so that we could take it with us on our way, which was very nice! Negatives: ========== - very low water pressure and water wasn t hot.. not even warm (it took more than 2 hrs. to fill up the tub and by the time it was full, the water was already cold). Also, the pressure of the tapwater was so low, that the shower head didn t give enough water to wash the soap off your body. - we had power outage 2X at night when we came home. This is frightening, because you have to find your way up the stairs while it s very dark and find key+keyholes. - breakfast was a dissapointment; first morning there was only the usual fat continental boring sauzage, bacon, fried egg and toast. We asked for Thai food, rice, vegetables, yoghurt and fruit. The next day there was some, but it wasn t really cooked or prepared nicely. - w.c. pot is right in the middle of the open air bathroom. Doing nr.1 in front of my girlfriend is still ok, but nr.2 visible to her was a little embarrassing. - There is a mosque right next to the resort. An islamic iman starts with his prayers through loudspeakers early in the morning and keeps repeating this during the day several times. This woke us up a few times too early unfortunately. - Locks of front door and terrace door are a bit old and sometimes it took us a while to open or close the doors. - Fridge is very small and was filled with cans and stuff we don t like to consume. So we had to leave the contents of it outside the fridge for the entire week so that there was space to put our own products in. - back end of room behind the bed was placed 1/2 meter lower than the front end. Very dangerous, because we stumbled down and fell down several times, hitting our heads against the closet. If you re less lucky than we were, you can break a leg or hip. - About the resort s facilities: hotspa, steambath and sauna which is free for customers. However, when we finally requested this on our last day we were told that they were out of order.

Great, easy and clear - already did my next bookings with Sawadee again.

The staffs at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The small pool is nice as we can have it all for ourselves. The hotel is little bit far from the beach but it s not any prob. as the hotel has a free taxi which is avaiable everytime we need. The view from the room n.9 is not nice as there is a construction at the hotel nearby. Overall I like this hotel and maybe be back again next year.

Ok and very fast.

We had a very pleasant stay. A shame they were refurbishing and building (which is normal during low season I guess), but hotel management did all necessary to make our stay unforgettable. The room was a bit small, but the nice bath tub and shower oustde and the privacy of the surroundings compensated. As there were only 2 guests! in the entire hotel, we really felt privileged. They offered to drive us to the beach, they called us to say we could use the saunda when we like and they even ensured the bath tub outside was full by the time we got back to the hotel! We really enjoyed this very relaxing place, which is a little bit separated from the rest but still very close. I would also recommend the small restaurants along the way which seerve far better food than the tourist trap restaurants along the coast. Thank you all, for the very pleasant stay!

all went very smooth and professional!

If you are a nature lover, you cannot give this resort a miss. I saw squirrels from the inside of my room, plenty of butterflies flying about and lush greenery everywhere. However, being so close to nature, be prepared for some no-so-friendly bugs, such as mosquitoes. If you are afraid of bugs and amphibians in general, I suggest you go somewhere else. Geckos and frogs are very commonly found near your rooms. They have various spa packages, and they are very good. Ao Nang beach is about 10 minute walk away, but you can arrange with reception to have them drive you there free of charge. You can book tours from the reception, but they might not necessarily have the best price. I went to check out other prices in town and found cheaper packages, and when I returned to the resort, the staff made a phone call and gave a discount to match the cheaper package I saw. I would recommend a second opinion. Their food is pretty nice, and breakfast is usually made for you when you arrive at the cafeteria, instead of the usual buffet spread. Some of the villas are located quite high up on the slope. I got Villa 6, which is right at the top of the slope. I didn t have a problem climbing up and down, but some people might find it tiring. The upside to having a villa right on top of the slope is that it offers maximum privacy. Other villas located lower down might give the feel of being a little exposed. Overall, it s an excellent resort with a great personal touch. They have only 9 villas and this gives a great sense of exclusivity as you won t have to crowd with others to use the jacuzzi pool and steam room.

I never book my Thailand hotels anywhere else. Sawaeede.com never fails to impress with prompt and excellent service.

Nice Atmosphere and landscape, far from the beach but free transportation is available. Excellent hospitality from the management and staff which is made a memorable vacation for me. I also stay at Ao Nang Villa for 2 nights after this resort, front desk staff were not friendly at all far from Tropical Herbal Spa & Resort like earth to heaven. I would recommend Krabi and this resort to anybody.

Resort has nice pool and nice maintance. However, Tub in room was quite dirty. As in: leaves, algae growth in the tub and on the walls, and bird poop on the walls surrounding the tub. Room was very nice, bathroom as well but short on soaps, lotions, etc. Overall not that impressed - for the price we paid they could have looked after all those little things.

Booking service with sawadee worked perfectly.

An absolute dream location to stay at although the signage is a little small at the side of the road as you drive into ao nang. Tremendous staff and thoroughly enjoyed our pampering at this location, the bungalow was very clean and had all you wished for, the bathroom had a glorious outdoor sunken bath of which two persons can sit side by side very comfortably,we had a floral bath for only 500 baht which is definately a must(very nice), we also had a thai massage which lasted 2 hours(quality). The pool and jacuzzi are a must along with a steam room you get these complementary when you stay. We can not say enough good things about the place it was just fantastic.

Once again we could not fault any of your service and an absolute pleasure doing business.A credit to the hotel.

Nice option for couples. The hotel is not on the beach, so you have to walk; but the hotel has a car anytime you need, so its easy to go to the beach, where the restaurants, bars and shops are; to come back, you can take a tuk-tuk for 40 baths, day and night (it s so hot that is difficult to climb up!). The breakfeast is very basic, in two days you get tired; anyway, the coffe itself is very good and tastes like coffe, and you can get juices from natural fruits . The garden and the pool are beautiful and pleasent. Don t expect a real spa. The villas are nice, thai style, a lot of nature, it seems you have privacy because every villa is far from the other, despite of the fact that you can see everything that happens inside the rooms from outside as the curtains are clear. We just didn t care about that. It s clean for asian patterns, but it could be more. The only problem is the bathroom: it is not in the room, it s outside, and it is open, what means that there is no door (the shower and the toilet are open). And in our villa there were some steps down to reach the bathroom, what is not really confortable in the middle of the night. It s a different experience, and at the end you get used to it.

Very good, no problems at all.

The resort is located along a pretty steep hillside at the end of the mainstreet (approx 5-10 minutes walk to the beach). We were in bungalow number 4, this was located at the top back end of the resort which meant a pretty steep climb . Pool was nice, the staff was also nice but did not speak much english. Room was small but the outdoor bathroom was large, privacy could at times be in jeopardy... Breakfast was buffé style but very simple. Never did try the spa facilities, but they were pricy...

Very efficient! No problems at all!!

I cannot rave enough about this place, especially the service and tranquility. We stayed here for the first three nights of our honeymoon. We then stayed in decent places in Phi Phi Island and a quiet area in Phuket, but came rushing back to this resort for the last 2 nights of the honeymoon because of its splendid service and value for money, and the cheeky sense of humour of the staff. Beautiful tropical gardens, where you really feel hidden from it all - especially in such a small boutique resort. A little gem!

Very efficient

A close to nature resort, so if u or yr partner isn t 1 who likes d open concept of yr rm being slightly visible to others, then request for the villas located on the peak coz mine was in the middle of the slope, Villa 1.Do not book tours fr the resort. We booked our Phi Phi island trip thru them at THB1500/pax.In AoNang centre,a tour operator we checked with charges only THB1200/pax for the same tour! The resort is totally asleep by 11pm

Very friendly staff. Very small rooms but cosy and cleans. Me stayed there for four night. If you like sounds of jungle and like gekkos inside the room I recommend this hotels. At first morning the fighting monkeys on the roof woke us up. The breakfast was not that good as we have used to on another hotels in thailand... but the service was excellent as everything was brought to the table. Ok hotel but won´t go there again.

This Resort is quite small from what i remember they have 10 villas. I had the Grande villa no.9. As previous reviews state about the insects creepy crawlies etc.... i will agree. I am a chicken when it comes to anything like spiders, mosquitos etc.. But here we are not talking about those we are talking about frogs, lizards & Gekkos. The bathrooms are outside so therefore are not covered, hence the big bath being covered in leaves and stuff. On the first night my husband found a foot long lizard chillin behind a mirror. I went to the toilet in the middle of the night only to find i had a mummy frod and a baby from accompany me. Overall its a loveley place but if you don t like these sort of things its not the place for you. I would still give this place 9/10

It is rustic. You have to get used to tree frogs in the wardrobe and geckos peeping over the wall of the shower. I was in Villa 2 and had a dog which lived under the Villa. My sister was in villa 3 and had frogs in the loo! However, it was a beautifully tranquil setting set in jungle on a hillside, though there is still some traffic noise mingling with the birds and even monkey calls from further up the hillside. The Resort is small and very quiet which was just what we wanted as we were after privacy and R&R. The staff were extremely helpful - nothing too much trouble for them, especially Suppawan on the front desk who booked all sorts of things for us and went out of her way to be helpful and interested in what we were doing. We stayed 2 weeks which was unusual, most people only staying a few nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and didn t see anywhere else in Ao Nang that we would rather have stayed. It was an advantage being 1km from the sea front as it was quieter, and the staff were always happy to run us down to the town by car and we got a Tuk Tuk home for 40 Baht, so it really wasn t a problem. As far as value for money goes it was exceptional, though we didn t think their spa the best, but a beautiful pool. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Only downside was the room size - very small (with no wardrobe), but large outdoor area. Long walk up a fairly steep hill to some of the rooms so if this bothers you, request a room closer to pool area.

We loved our whole experience at Tropical Herbal. First, the staff was genuinely kind and attended to our every need. The villa we had was beautiful, very Thai, really unique. it is a beautiful and hidden place at karbi. do not hesitate to book it even it is not in the center (which is very good and quiet), because they provide you at any time free transport to downtown or other facilities. the stuff is very helpful and nice especially mrs. paan!!! the best villas are 6 and 8 or pay a little extra and you get the big villa no. 9. also i can advise to book ALL tours through them you get a discount on most of them and it is perfect organized. if you want to book a private tour with a long tail boot ask paan they are cheaper and better than others. go there it is a little paradise at krabi

Excellent friendly service. Beautifully kept gardens which do give the feeling of being in the jungle. Superb pool. Comfortable room and four poster bed. The outside spacious bathroom does require some bravery if you re scared of insects like my girlfriend! But a tranquil location within a bustling resort. Free transport to the beach. Thoroughly recommend!

The reception staff were very helpful,a wonderful setup makes you feel that you are in a rain forest, our room was at the back of the site and would not be suitable for the less mobile as it was quite a steep path, the breakfast was OK quite basis, there is a bit of building work going on outside the site but it was not very noisy, We liked to walk to the beach which took about 20 minuites but the hotel did have a free car to take you, I would recommend this hotel for a lovely quite get away, and the novelty of an outside bath is something to remember

My new husband and were totally impressed by the hospitality, friendliness and service at this hotel. The accomodations were even better than the website, the personal touches made it all the more special. We will definitely stay here again - longer next time! The food was great, too! Note, this is located on a hill, so be prepared! We loved it!!!!

Excellent front desk staff, always there with a smile and directions to food and activities. The villa number 7 was lovely, comfortable bed with a good sized tv and vcd/cd player. Outdoor tub for 2 made my time with my other half all the more enjoyable. Stepping in to the toilet bowl and shower area felt like i was stepping into nature. The jaccuzi pool in the middle of the resort was very nice too. The nights were cool and tranquil. I would highly recommend Tropical Herbal Spa & Resort to all!

I stayed here with my wife for our belated honeymoon. This is a beautiful boutique spa with only 9 rooms, hence alot of privacy. The grounds are beautiful and the staff very warm and friendly. It was a really enjoyable holiday where the accomodation was a large part of the experience.
