My wife & I really enjoyed our 5 day stay at Centara. It is truly a beautiful location with a nice beach & a great pool. The view from our villa (1125) was excellent & the jacquzzi on the deck was a relaxing touch. The food & the service were both good. The concerns about the walkway (& the floating jetty) to Ao Nang are overblown - it takes about 10 minutes of effort on the walkway! We would certainly return & we highly recommend Centara to others! No problems - worked out fine!

The natural setting is incredible and the hotel almost as spectacular as the location. Rooms are top notch and well designed, only issue is a LOT of stairs for those who have little tolerance for lots of steps or mobility issues. Staff could have better language skills, but otherwise friendly.

Excellent

The hotel is nice, beautiful setting, big rooms and the staff very good. The kids club is great and we were happy to be able to leave our kid there when we did a tour, the ladies working there are very good. But we are upset aboute the fact that it is not very clear about that boat to get to the hotel. The fact that we can t decide for the time of the shuttle boat upon check in/check out is not acceptable, given the price of the rooms. The check in on mainland is just a waste of time. Then upon check out they made us leave the hotel very early saying it takes a long time to the airport which is not true, and we arrived too early at the airport, and there is basically nothing to do.

Very good

Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krab, Ao Nang, Phaiplong Beach
This resort is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest, the rooms were gorgeous (we stayed in a standard). The gardens & pool area added to the feeling that you have found paradise. Very romantic place if you are looking for a Honeymoon destination. My only criticism is the restaurant, bar & Spa prices, more expensive than fine dining at home, the spa prices are outrageous. The buffet breakfast was really 5 star, it had everything & more. The quick speed boat trip to the resort added to the seclusion & fun of the stay although it s a short easy walk to the town at low tide. Would love to stay here again, when you arrive you don t feel like doing anything other than taking in the beautiful ocean view fronting the limestone cliffs & Jungle. The most amazing sunsets coinciding with happy hour by the pool.

Great, no hassles anywhere we stayed in Thailand.

Very nice setting and outstanding service. Don t expect much animation in Ao Nang. Arriving and leaving the hotel from the floating (and moving) pontoon can be stressful. Food prices are close to european levels.

Central Krabi Bay Resort, Ao Nang, Phaiplong Beach
This Hotel positions and prices itself as a five star resort - but in comparison with other resorts in this category it comes up short of this mark. Access is poor and by boat - not good and being welcomed by a dreadful long tail boat and wading out to sea from a beach in the dark.It was less than you would expect from a 5 star resort. Constant noise fron the ever present trail of long tail boats crossing the bay was a big turn off - not the gentle and quiet environment of luxury paradise reort you would expect. So - Yes - we were disappointed with the holiday - but the very warm, welcoming and hard working General Manager Mr Voytek Klasicki is to be commended for his efforts to bring this resort up to the level required.I suggest that the Hotel Group gives him the necessary investment funds to develop a strong support team. Overall the noisest piece of paradise you will find.

Excellent booking service - to be recommended.

Central Krabi Bay Resort, Ao Nang, Phaiplong Beach
Nice resort but in a small beachfront ground which can make one feels clausterphobic.Room is very nice. One problem was about the A/C in our premier deluxe room which was continuously went off, 4 times during our stay and we have to repeatedly informing the technician to come fix it.It is quite annoying as we have to do it at 4am. Due to no land/road connection to the resort, checking in and out had to follow the resort very limited speed boat transfer schedules, and multiple stop/transfer before one can get to the resort and back to Ao Nang.

This was the stay of our life! My two sons aged 22 and 25 and I, stayed 18 nights (Dec.21-Jan. 8th 2007)at Central Krabi Bay Resort. This is a world of itself - magic place behind steep cliffs and surrounded by jungle with quite a lot of funny monkeys. The rooms contains everything you need. They are clean and you get excellent service at any time. Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit, a wonderful youghurt and all the food you could possible want. The staff is friendly and always willing to fulfil your wishes. (Montree in special). The only thing not so good is that you have to take a boat to get out of the resort. It takes you far away from the center of AoNang and you have to take a tuk tuk back to reach the AoNang beach. I will recommend the Indiana Jones road over the cliffs instead. (good workout) Next year I will be back - that s for sure. Sissel, Mads and Kim from Norway

Excellent - no problems and good service when we had to change the bookings.

Hotel are top quality in all ways. Resort prices are fare out. You do not expect europien prices in Thailand, even in a five star resort. Drinks in the bar are 300 bath. Very nice and helpfull staff. Top pool area but will be packed in high seeson. Dag Erlandsen, NORWAY

Impossible to be better. Thanks.

Wow. This is a new resort and has all the trimmings. We were there for 4 nights and the staff were so accomodating. It is secluded so the restaurants are all on site but with reasonable prices. Join the club, it is worth while as you can use the internet, have drinks and nibbles at your leisure. The pool is amazing with a jaccuzzi above a cave! There is also a kids club which is like Fiji resorts and is included. Our 8 year old was spoilt. You can catch the boat around the corner to Railay beach, about 10 mins, for a change, as we stayed there the previous 5 nights and is more lively. The rooms are top class and the views perfect. Check the bedding arrangement if travelling with kids as it is not too clear and we paid for the extra bed and did not need it. Enjoy a bit of paradise.

First we felt it quite odd, arriving in a five-star hotel...meeting us was a boat to which we had to wade up to our knee-length, with wet pants and bare toes, but the welcome was arranged in style and with friendly smiles. The hotel is situated in a bay surrounded by mountains, accessible only by boat or during the low tide by wading. This is not much of a nuisance, however, and the comlimentary transport to the village of Ao Nang was quite funtionary. The hotel is not entirely ready yet, and new buildings are completed and erected still, but to us the working around us was no big deal. The eventual nuisance was compensated in many ways. The location was superb, the beach was of fine sand and the background was formed by steep lime stone cliffs. Servcie all in all was splendid, friendly, making us feel wery welcome. Minor tentativeness and inexperience was to be traced now and then, possibly due to the fact that the job in this hotel possibly was the first one of this kind to some younger persons and the knowledge of languages was not quite the standard of e.g. Phuket. Also inexperience in foreigners and their “odd” ways could also have some effect. But everything was solved with patience and smile from both sides. The Europeans have lots to learn from the Thai attitude to life. The price level in restaurants was very reasonable and the price/quality ratio was very good. All food we ate was tasty and nicely set out. Dining in the beach bar “On The Rocks”, on the sand, was a great experience during the sunset time. The expensive price and limited assortment of wines was a little surprising, as the major clientele seemed to be formed by guests from the great wine countries of Europe. Serving of wines was sometimes a little stiff, and no five-star hotel should serve the red wine ice cold. The breakfast was fine and sufficient, though not splendid. The rooms were good and roomy, actually little apartments, and the wiews from the large balcony were breathtaking. Some wishes as to the finishing: an anti-slip surface in the shower room, a handle in the end of the bathtub to make climbing into the tub easier and safer. A seat or a wide bench by the end of the bed facing the shower room could facilitate dressing or underessing. The toilet seat was a little small and the lid a little “tottering”. Maybe a handle on the wall were helpful. The transport to the rooms by an electric cart was a great invention, especially for children and elderly people. All in all a fine and recommendable hotel even to a demanding customer. When all the numerous plants have grown a little higher and more luxuriant, he surroundings will be really smashing.

Central Krabi Bay Resort, Ao Nang, Phaiplong Beach
I just want to say, I miss the friends that we d made in Central Krabi Bay Resort. These people are just fabulous! They may be greener when it comes to service but they are totally genuine and sincere in making their guests feel very very special! Our 6 days stay was the best I can hope for... (although, construction was still on-going, but we were given complimentary stuff as a form of apology from the resort). Let s start with the different areas: Location - Just a bay away from Ao Nang, it s like world s apart when you are at the resort s private beach as compared to the rather polluted and populated Ao Nang beach. Waiting for the ferry transfer can be quite a hastle too. Especially when you have to call the resort to inform them that the ferry transfer is late to pick you up. During low tide, you can actually cross to Ao Nang on foot but I guess it also breaks the privacy of the resort with the possibilities of other travellers coming to the resort s private beach. Rooms - BIG, clean and very comfortable bed! The rain shower and the bath tub is superb! We were given the Spa Deluxe room so we have a private jacuzzi just at our terrace. The view is spectacular and the sunsets are just lovely. Daily evening turn down proved to be a very sweet gesture with a little gift left on our bed every night. F&B - There are several food outlets namely Lotus Court, Rim Saai, Hagi, On The Rocks and Deep Blu. They serve respectable cuisine although the pricing might be a little bit steep. Breakfast at Lotus Court is always delightful and it is by far the most delicious hotel breakfasts I had so far. Facilities - The infinity pool is great! The colour of the pool even matches the colour of the sea in the morning sun! Impressive! We went to the fitness centre for our complimentary yoga class. I would say the equipment is suffice although it can be a little crampy as compared to the size of the resort. You can even rent kayaks and sail-boats to explore a bit of the cliffs along the sea coast of the resort. Overall, the facilities and activities are definately sufficient to satisfy guests. Spa - We had a body massage and a facial done. The centura spa boasts very polite and professional therapists and the treatment offered was just great. People - I guess what truely sets this resort apart from all the resorts and hotels I had stayed with is their people. Their staff is all so friendly and sincere and they will do their best in providing for their guests. I cannot describe any better than to tell you. Go stay in this resort and be mesmerized by the staff who works there. I certainly do hope as the resort is gaining popularity, they will keep this quality in their service as true as when we stayed there in Central Krabi Bay Resort.

Although there s been some misunderstanding during the initial phase of my booking (which was for another resort) but they made it up fast enough to cause not much damage. Booking through them is simply fast and hastle-free. This is not the first time I d booked through sawadee.com and it ll definately not my last. Their rates they offered are always very good.
