The restaurant is great, with a good selection of food and the most professional, courteous and helpful staff we have ever encountered. Idyllic location and great selection of trips available. Would go back in a second! Book the beach suites - well worth it.	Efficient and straightforward.
Keith Alexander Preston 2008-10-08	Layana Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Phra Ae Beach We cannot praise Layana enough.From Bob the owner(who is always there for you)and all the Layana team down to the beatiful gardens.An ecceptional resort.As much ice cold water round the pool as you want.DVD in the rooms.DVD library.We ate all meals in the resort.If you want to buy beer,711 is about 5 mins by tuk tuk.Only on sale 11am to 2pm &5pm to 8.30pm in Thailand. They decorated our room with petals and two swans(shape of a heart)for our 40th wedding anniversary.Fantastic Place.	I really recomend sawadee.com.very efficient company.

We both had a great stay. The villas are lovely and clean and the staff are all very warm and friendly. We were greeted by the manager as we got off the speed boat and had champagne and chocolates in our room as part of the honeymoon stay. It was our 1st time on Koh Lanta and altough slightly quiter than some of the other islands it was very peaceful if you want somewhere relaxing to stay. I would highly recommend the Layana resort to stay in. I loved it.

We had a 2 storey ocean Pavillion, which was just great (ask them to make up the day bed with sheets and pillows etc. if you have one). The upstairs was great for watching the sunset and storms late at night. Shame the couple next to us didn t realise that you can see what s going on upstairs next door!!!!!!! Room was so clean, towels changed twice a day, air con not quite cold enough. You could get a bit stir crazy in the Layana, but turn right on the beach and make your way to the Funky Fish and Zone bar. Mr Wee s Pizza was fab. We were at the Layana for Songkran, and they made it really special (every guest had a water pistol) and it was a joy to celebrate with the wondeful Thai people who enjoy just being with and having fun with you! Great diving at Hin Daeng, although the dive instructor took us deeper on our second dive and we didn t have long enough of a surface interval, so ended up doing a decompression dive. This was fine, but then the Dive Instructor was out of air and had to share the air for the next 30 mins of the dive!!! Luckily my husband and I are experienced and very good with air. The Manta s were huge and amazing. We ll definitley go back to the Layana next year to see Bang-On (yes, that was really her name!!!!!). Glad we chose here and not the Pimalai - there s no escape from the hotel there!	Fab as usual!

Service was amazing and great personal touches - fruit around pool, no charges for water bottles in room or at pool, free head massages at pool too!. Restaurant was great. A very relaxed and chilled hotel where nothing is too much trouble.

BT 2007-10-29 until 2007-11-02	Layana Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Phra Ae Beach Hotel overall was very good. Rooms are big enough, clean and the bathrooms are modern and also very clean. Staff are excellent and service very good. Pool and gym very good, beach only average. Hotel food is also very good but pricey as you would expect. There are some cheaper eating/drinking places about 500m up the beach. Would recommend hotel, very good but not great value for money compared to other places I have stayed in thailand. Reasonable price for what you get but not a bargain.	Great as always.

A bit pricy compared to all the other places but worth every penny. One of the rare resorts which cleans the beach every morning from logs and washed up things... Great spa!	Almost perfect. Unfortunately they forgot to alter our departure date according to my request. So the hotel charged us the full price. But minor issue...

Eric Tan 2007-08-29 until 2007-08-30	Layana Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Phra Ae Beach Outstanding and professional work by an unknown staff (should have gotten her name!) as she sought to ensure our safe return from Saladan Town after nightfall (the roads were very dark.) It would have been nicer if the staff at the reception have had handled the return trip too when we asked for it while arranging our one-way transportation from resort to the town, but no major complaints there. Wonderfully furnished and luxurious rooms. Accomodating, efficient staff who sought to make the overall stay a comfortable and hassle-free one. Especially impressed by personal service of Margie (who appears to be the one of the management staff there) who attended to all the guests. The room we had was clean and beautifully furnished. The balcony view outside was satisfying. Feels good staying there.	Good service

Starting from the worm welcoming and the room readiness (we had flowers, sparkling wine, chocolate and fruits) continuing with the beautiful pool and nice staff. We didn t leave the resort for 3 days and wished we could stay longer… We ll be back for sure!

Try Prad kapow and fried shrimp/fish cakes! yum! Well worth the 2-hrs land & ferry transfer to and from airport. Will definitely return.	Very competitive hotel rates.
Mr.Paul Strawbridge 2005-12-24 until 2006-01-01	Layana Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Phra Ae Beach Beautiful hotel, on a beautiful island right next to a beautiful beach. Layana is very new and has obviously had a huge amount of time and effort put into the planning and design and it really shows. Fantastic beach, pool and views from the bar and resturant. It is expensive to stay here in the first place, so maybe for many people the following may not be an issue, but we found all food, services and ancillaries such as laundary to be far more expensive than anyother hotel we have stayed at, although none were quite as high a standard as this one. So budget quite highly. Food is very European-orientated and we were slightly disappointed with the Thai side, but that may suit many guests. Very friendly owners and staff and all are willing even though some are new and going through a learning-curve - it may be a 5 star in facilities, position and structure but it is still in Thailand! Taxi from Krabi airport to Layana incl 2 very short ferry hops about 2,400 Baht per car and 2,200 on way back. Summary - absolutely wonderful get-away spot for a week with great facilities but budget towards a more European scale than Thai. Happy to answer questions pauldavid@hotmail.co.uk	Excellent. Bob, Margi and Russell did everything within their power to make it a most enjoyable and comfortable stay. The staff were friendly at all times and went out of their way to create a relaxing environment. The spa was amazing and the facilities provided by the hotel free of charge, such at the canoes, Hobie Cat and beach volleyball just added to the holiday. Will most definitly be going back.	I could find no complaints at all with the booking service. One is always nervous booking on line for fear that a hotel does not exist but the professional manner in which the booking was handled alleviated any pressure.
