A.K 2009-04-03	DR Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach Om man klarar sig utan service så är hotellet väldigt bra för barnfamiljer. Poolen en av de bästa då det inte är halt runt poolen. Stranden framför hotellet superfin och älskad av barnen. Kändes rent och fräscht. Frukosten var väldigt basic men de andra hotellen i samma klass har inte bättre. Många longstays som kan hjälpa till med tips och råd. Lite irriterande att man måste tjafsa med personalen om priset på taxi som de gärna vill lägga på lite extra för (En taxi/tuk tuk till stan bör inte kosta mer än 100 baht och till/från flygplatsen 2300 baht). Boka inte transfer hos hotellet då de verkar glömma samtliga beställningar, går lätt att få en transfer från flygplatsen när man kommer fram. If you don t need service, it s a good choice. Very much swedish familys with small children. The pool area is not slippery and one of the best in Klong Dao. The beach is very good. The hotel felt clean and fresh. The breakfast is basic. It s a litle irritating that you always have to argue about the prices of taxi and transfer - they always says to high prices (A taxi/tuk tuk to Salatan cost 100 baht and to/from airport 2300 baht, no more). Don t book transfer from airport at the hotel, they always forget to order it. Take one at the airport instead).	Fungerar mycket bra! / Very good.

Bodde i strand och poolnära bungalow som var hur fina som helst. 25 m till stranden, restaurangen och 5 m till jättefin pool med barndel. Rejäl frukostbuffe och helt OK mat i restaurangen. Något oengagerad personal, kanske pga sent på säsongen? Vi var jättenöjda och kommer absolut återkomma!	Inga problem! Allt funkade som det skulle.

The hotel was perfect close to the beautiful beach. dai. The personal at the hotel and the restaurang was wery kind,helpful and caring about us. It was a wery god family atmosfair at the hotel. Allan Moller 2009-02-19	DR Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach Had a family suite, cant recommend it no hot water by the cink, one hot and one cold shower, no pressure on the water. Breakfast was not good, no real buffet, had to fill out a form to get an omelet. The pool was overfilled with swedish children and there parents, next time i will try something else i paid 5000 baht per night, and could have got something that was better but without pool for 1500 baht, the beach is good, so i will go for the cheaper solution next time. Big bungalows, most not beach front but all of them in a nice surronding with a lot of flowers. Friendly staff. The restaurant has good food but looks a bit boring, like a big dining room. The pool area is nice and the pool is perfect for playing children in all ages. Mostly swedish people where staying at the resort. I think DR Lanta is a good option on this beach.	Great.

As we get to the reception, we saw a very nice place. Rooms were fine, so was the pool, and the beach fantastic. the staff was nice, but a lot of them don´t speak english. The hotel could easy double, their turnover, by very little effort, learn a bit of english and ask the geust if the want anyting, and make the place a bit more cosy at night, as thei food were among the best we had eaten on Koh Lanta. Breakfast was fine. Would choose same hotel when I go to Koh Lanta again. Lovly place and beach.	Perfect. No problem at all

Make sure you turn the sign on the bungalow door if you want the room to be cleaned. We did not notice it after the first night.	No problemos

The rooms we took where very basic. The only thing that bothered me was the towels and sheets which didnt smell that great. A great place for kids. very quiet and family friendly. wouldnt hesitate coming back.	The booking was really smooth and easy.

A&J Bransford 2008-04-15 until 2008-04-19	D.R Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach First of all, the hotel upgraded us to family connecting rooms when we got there - sweet! And the whole island felt peaceful and secluded. Jellyfish only in the late afternoons - no prob in the mornings. Calm water and no rocks. One of the staff was very helpful - the others weren t. They booked us on a ferry back that no longer existed. Ants in bathroom. It s a daily difficulty to get a towel for the beach or pool - might want to bring your own (they did eventually loan us towels - it just took a while and we had to go through the we re all out thing which just wasn t true). Food at hotel is not great, but eating at any of the hotels along the beach is awesome. BOTTOM LINE: we would stay there again. Great value. FYI, hotel tuk-tuk into Saladan town is 50 Baht per adult. To get back from town is 100 Baht total for the ride regardless of how many people you cram in to the tuk tuk. Also of note - many stores are already closing down until Nov. 1.	Perfect - no problems at all. Will use Sawadee again!
Die Lodenheimers 2008-03-21 until 2008-04-03	DR Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach D.R Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Gepflegte, ruhige Anlage, nettes Personal,ideal für Familien mit Kindern. Flach abfallender Strand, leichte Flut/Ebbe, ideal zum Muschelnsuchen und Ballspielen. Lange Spaziergänge am Strand möglich. Zimmer sind einfach und sauber. Frühstück: schlichtes Standardbuffet (leider kein Filterkaffee, nur Instant). Bei geringer Zimmerauslastung bekommt man das Frühstück aus einer kleinen Auswahlliste frisch aus der Küche. Warme Mahlzeiten im Restaurant sind sehr lecker. Man kann aber auch überall entlang des Strandes sehr gut essen gehen. Das Personal war stets freundlich. Zusätzliche Handtücher gibt es gegen eine kleine Gebühr. Abends/Nachts ist es angenehm ruhig in der Anlage, wer Unterhaltung sucht geht zum Strand an die Bar und kann dort auch gleich mit den zahlreichen schwedischen Familien Kontakt knüpfen. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß miteinander. In Saladan gibt es eine deutsch geführte Tauchschule, die auch gerne Schnorchler mitnehmen. Sehr nette Crew. Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt. Deshalb planen wir unseren Herbsturlaub auch wieder dorthin.	Perfekt und reibungslos!

On an excellent location on the beach. many eating places around. the water in front of the hotels is good for swimming unlike those at the end which is abit rocky. value for money.	No problem. Have used them many times.

The poolarea was fine though, especially for younger children as there is no really deep end. Only Swedish familys, most of them with small children when we were there. Staff ok but not very engaged. We checked out earlier than planned.	Good! We got money back after early check-out quick and with no problems.

Their laundry service is not to reccomend though. When we got the clothes back it looked like they were thrown in the plastic bag, and they were not dry.	It worked out perfect.
Fam.Leif Sundell 2008-02-17 until 2008-02-20	D.R Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach We travelled together 2 adult & 2 sons (15&18 years) and stayed in a Minisuite with extarbed. Spacious room with AC + fan (really comfortable). Upon arrival they offered us to upgrade to family-room or VIP-bungalow - a nice offer as they had rooms available. Good pool although not so big. Close to the very nice Klong Dao-beach and walking distance to Saladan city (15 min). Had their own tuc-tuc sevice for 50 bht/person. Very gentle and familiar atmosphere created by all personal - from reception, breakfast to cleaning persons. Well organized breakfast (buffet). We could really recommend the hotel/bungalows. The staff were all very kind and serviceminded! The breakfast was VERY VERY poor indeed with COLD fried eggs and COLD bacon etc etc so this was very negative! The other food on the a la carte was on the other hand of a very good class! The bungalow was clean and in good order. To our surprice we had to pay extra for another blankets to our beds! The hotel car was a pickup which forced some of us to sit outside at the back without any seat during the transport ot Saladan City although we had to pay THB 50 per person! Overall we are satisfied - good value for our money!	Perfect and reliable

We didn´t appriciate the breaktfast very much. Same, same but (not) different and the bacon was cold. The pool was ok but the claning of the pool could be better. The bar at the beach was the best! Overall we did like Koh Lanta very much.	Not much to say but very good.

Ca. 10 high chairs available in the restaurant with plenty of helpful staff willing to entertain kids for a few minutes during meal times. Very relaxed hotel, right on the beach, very nice & helpful staff. Some extra services could be available such as book swapping, or better travel agency facilities for booking day trips. Pool is ideal for kids, with a shallow area for the smaller ones. Food was of a good standard, helpful staff. A good value hotel.	Very efficient !

The hotel staff tried to screw us several times, which has never happened to us before. Poor breakfast. Rooms are old and not very clean. Good location, right on the Klong Dao beach. Clean and friendly place buth with some strange rouls, everything needs to be payed the day after and everything in cash. Had one dinner at the retaurant but there are definetly much better on the beach at the same price. This is a charter hotel with LOTS of kids running around in the pool area.	Great
Ragnar Arvidsson 2007-11-12 until 2007-11-21	D.R Lanta Bay Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach This was our hird visit to DR Lanta and earlier we have been very satisfied and recommended DR to our friends. This time we were not satisfied due to the following reasons: 1) We had put as a condition for our booking that we should stay at bunglow 101, 102 and 103 and no oyher bungalow was to be accepted by us. We were confirmed bungalow 102. However, on our arrival we were offered bungalow 108 as the 102 and even 101 and 103 were occupied. We protested and stated that as guests we must be able to trust the management on the confirmed bookings. After much discussion we were offered bunglow VIP3 which we consider less interesting for us (only two persons) as it is located on the entrence lane which makes the location more noicy. 2) The athmosphare was less friendly and the manager and the assistant manager (booking officer) seem not to be famliar with THE THAI HOSPITALITY, THE THAI FRIENSHIP AND THAI SMILE . 3)The pool area and the boarder area towards the beach were no kept in a good order: por cleaning, deck and sun chairs was in the same scattered positions in the mornin as in the evening before, emphty bottles was still in the areas in the morning, broken deck chairs was left in the same position for days without being taken away etc. I am also not sure to what extent the pool was cleaned daily as I do not remember anyone attending to the cleaning of the pool, and I was outside at 7 A.M. every morning. 4) On our departure I asked for a reciept and DR management said to require three days for providing me with a reciept which is the DR s obligation towards the guests and my right as a guest. When I stated the I will keep the kee to the bungalow until I get my reciept the manager called the police as the kee was his property which ofcourse was correct but the reciept was also my right as my property. As my wife insisted to get our transfer to the Nobel House resort completed I did not have the possibility to wait for the police to come. On the positive side we would like to mention good food, excelent behaivor and service of the staff in the restaurant, the reception and the house-keeping. When chatting with other German friends who also had visited the DR Lanta many times before, the had experianced the same as per above but in addition they stated that: A) On their arrival the pool water was not clean and many families with children left for other resorts as they did not want their children to swim in such dirty water. B) They were not satisfied with the breakfast as they prefered buffee and felt it unfair to ay extra for slices of bread etc. u	The booking service was good but as the bungalow we were confirmed was not available our conclusIon is THAT WE CAN NOT TRUST THE BOOKING AND THE BOOKING SERVICES. THE MANAGER OF DR LANTA ALSO TOLD US THAT IF HE HAD BEEN AVAILABLE ON OUR ARRIVAL WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE VIP 3 BUNGALOW. HAD WE NOT ACCEPTED THE BUNGALOW OFFERED TO US ON ARRIVAL WE WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID OUR MONEY BACK AND BEEN REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE DR LANTA RESORT . This statement surprised me and with that guest/customer attitude I am not sure about the future sccess of DR Lanta in a competitive market. How would the European potential guests and the travelling organisations react on such a hotel management statement? My self is a management consultant working with hotels, tourist enterprises, supermarkets etc. and I am and have been working in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Laos and many other countries on service industries, strategies, promotion and and customer relations. We stayed in 2 mini suites with connecting door witch was very nice. Because it´s nice to be able to stay together. The rooms are clean and spacious. Missed coffe and tea making facilities. It´s quite simple but the pool was very nice, the restaurant is very very good and it´s located right on the beach. It´s a cheap hotel but you get alot for your money. We will definately stay here again and our kids really want to go back. You must get massage from the lady at the hotel because she is great!	Sawadee feels like a company that you really can trust and we have recommend you to our friends. Everything worked out great.

The pool was sometimes very crowded and you have to reserve the sun chair early in the morning. Breakfast was not really funny due to the hot food was cold and the drinks was hot. But overall feeling was good, I will book again for the same rate.	Excellent as usual.
