tobias c. van Veen 2009-06-19	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Sunrise, though a beautiful and quiet resort, is unfortunately in need of some repair considering the price. A few things with our Bungalow: broken shower + very noisy A/C (we had to move); cockroaches in both sealed bungalows; very dirty furniture & furnishings; and an ant invasion (they had to call in a fumigator - and started chipping away at the wood beams with a screwdriver!). The pool was dirty and cold. The apartments are probably a better deal. Breakfast is decent, but make sure to eat your 300B worth. Frankly, were I not here for the climbing, I m not sure why I d go to Railay. It is crowded, dirty, open sewage, food is generally poor and twice the price of the rest of Thailand, often noisy with generator, and very polluted, with 1 stroke longtail boats and open air garbage. Railay is in poor need of infrastructure and community efforts to clean up the place and make it sustainable. If you are a climber, stay on Tonsai, but don t expect the food or quality to be any better.	Excellent, cheap, professional.

It was a beautiful room and I would definately stay here again. The grounds were well taken care of and the staff was friendly and helpful
rickie dallas 2009-05-07	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East I have stayed at Sunrise many times over the years and seen many changes happen over time some good some not so good, let me start by saying this resort is good value for money, the villas whilst starting to age now are well maintained and usually clean inside,they are quite large and have good lay outs, there is very little difference with the villas so unless you want a shower outside the villa plus isnt worth the extra money, the villas near and behind the reception are the best as they are not near the beach walkway or near the stinking sewerage plant and deisel generator, the pool is ok but it is plastic lined not tiled, the gardens are lovely although beware of the many wild monkeys!! they steal everything, when you arrive there make sure its not late afternoon or evening as the tide is out and you may have to walk through mud and mangrove ( not great ) the beach on the east side where the resort is is discusting but there are 2 other amazing beaches very close by especialy princess cave WOW, there are many cheap eats near the resort so eat out, the breakfast has improved but its still sub standard and much better outside, there is a place right at the end of the strip called MOM S check it out not fancy food but cheap and great tastes, beware also opposite MOM S the last bar run by so called maffia types and I saw many dramas in there, all in all if you are looking for a nice place this Sunrise is worth a stay they have improved service levels and where it is is a must see for sure...safe trips to all	excellent as always....
Laura Alice Holmes 2009-05-07	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East This is a lovely small hotel with very friendly staff and beautiful bungalows. Ours had a massive bathroom and was huge, the small pool was very tropical and comfy beds around it. The beach for sunbathing is a 5 minute walk and the breakfast was varied and had a good selection. I wouldn t really recommend eating dinner there though as there is such a good selection of restaurants further down the beach.	Very easy to book, I would definitely use this service again.
Kathi Jean Small 2009-04-25	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East I spent four days at the hotel. The only complaint is that during the majority of my stay the electricity and water were turned off for approximately four hours each day, late morning through mid afternoon. Hotel guests were never informed ahead of this and were never compensated. Food and service were very good and the room was delightful.	Airport-hotel-airport transportation was reliable but expensive.

Комнаты в здании хорошие(в бунгало нам не понравилось-кровать на постаменте, в ванную нужно спускаться по ступенькам,кондиционер слабоват,специфический запах,возможно от дерева,хотя в общем и целом всё цивильно),достаточно просторные,кроме душа есть ванна.В номере сейф,холодильник,tv,термос,нагревающий воду.Неплохой балкон с видом на сад.Минусы:Постельное бельё за шесть дней ни разу не меняли.Полотенца меняют,как и во многих отелях Таиланда,в зависимости от того где их повесить-об этом предупреждают соответствующие надписи на английском(это не минус). Нам не повезло-когда мы приехали, в отеле сломался дизель(от которого идёт электропитание)и в течение всех дней, что мы там находились, были проблемы с электричеством-его не было каждый день по 3-4 часа,соответственно, не работал кондиционер,не было воды,что было очень не комфортно,особенно в такую жару.Персонал старался что-то сделать,но проблему так и не решили до нашего отъезда.Кроме того,при заказе обеда в ресторане отеля видно,что персонал просто не знает,что у них есть,а чего нет на кухне.Приходилось заказывать по несколько раз, и каждый раз слышать,причём не сразу,а минут через десять,sorry,вот это уже кончилось,и вот этого,к сожалению,нет.И один раз меня просто чуть не убил( в буквальном смысле):ем,это,я ем и вдруг чувствую на зубах что-то твёрдое,аккуратно выплюнул на тарелку и вижу очаровательный маленький и очень острый гвоздик... В общем,если и поеду на Краби,то в этот отель я больше не ездок.
Mr & Mrs Knapp 2009-04-11	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Stayed 4-11 April 09. We paid for one of the best rooms in the hotel and werent let down by the room, it was lovely. The food in the hotel wasnt great and breakfast was quite dull. Staff were reasonable. Poo smell was round the pool in one area specifically. Location was good for climbing. Would probably try another hotel next time as there is a lot of choice and we werent blown away by this one.	Excellent. Fast and impressive.

We had a double bungalow for our family wich worked out very well for our 10 days stay. Nice staff. Railey east is noting for swimming but walking to Phranang cave is a short walk and railey west is also close. If going to railey again we would stay here again.	No problem

Booking service was perfect.
Nadezda Pogorelets 2009-02-27	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East We stayed there 3 days. All was perfect: room, hotel placement (no beach in front of, so can feel non-crowded.) Food was good apart of lunch offer for 100 THB of papaya salad - don t pick: salad is very spicy, rice is too sticky. Great location of the hotel - you can picture sunrise just in front of the hotel on a sea front. We had a room on 2nd floor in a main building. There re villas around also. If I m back, I d definitely pick Sunrise hotel again!	good.

Lars-Erik Eriksson 2009-01-16	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Overall: Decription: Nice, clean hotel with good service and staff located on a not so good beach. Location: The hotel is located on East Railay which is a really bad beach for swimmimg and bathing. West railey and Laem Prah Nang beaches are on the contrary magnificent and are 5-7 minutes of walking away. The room: We had Tropical Villa Plus which was a very nicely furnished with an outdoor shower and an overall luxurious feeling. The room also had a DVD player, flat screen, safety deposit. The AC was a bit too noisy (probably some defect), but I did not care to report this to staff since I usually sleep with cotton in my ears. Small animals like gecko lizards (totally harmless and eat bugs) and mosquitoes has little trouble to find their way into our room. Pool: OK pool that could have been better cleaned. Breakfast: Good with a lot of different warm dishes to choose from. It s more of a brunch than breakfast. Service: Kind and helpful. Negative: A nasty smell could felt in the hotel area during a few days, felt like some kind of plumbing problem. No smell inside though. Note: Everything on Railey is more expansive than on the mainland.	No problem whatsoever

The bungalows (two with connecting door) were very luxury and really nice with high comfort. Me and my family enjoyed every minute! The food were also excellent, both breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. If you like spicy food this is the place! Nice with the pool when it is to hot on the beach. Transfer to the airport worked perfect. We do recommend this resort to other travellers!	Very easy to book through Sawadee.com and everything worked perfect.
Craig Pantanowitz 2008-12-25	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Awesome hotel, staff very friendly and rooms are awesome very big very clean was in Thailand for honeymoon and this was our favourite stop. Will definitly be back and will stay at Sunrise again. Even though the hotel is on the wrong side of Railey you are close to Pranang beach and its a 5 minute walk to Railey West. Stunning all round!	Sawadee is fantastic great service!

The room was wonderful, big and comfortable, the hotel crew ware very nice and the breakfast was large and with a lot of options for every one.	The web site crew was excellent!!! We made a lot of changes and every time someone (usually Kanun or Jar) answer me by mail or S.M.S or by phone in a few hours – this is the best service I have ever got!!! Thank you very much for every thing – it was the best honey-moon and it was all thanks to your devotion and kindness!!!
Bridget Hughes Peter Hughes 2008-10-19	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East We spent a lot of time researching resorts and viewing reviews etc of both the west and east side of Railay before choosing Sunrise. We were very pleased with our choice, the resort was very clean, the standard of finish on the bungalows was outstanding and the layout in the landscaped grounds was great, where some of the opposition bungalows looked a bit tired and were laid out in uninteresting rows. There are many shops restaurants on this side of Railay which we found much cheaper than the west. While the west beach is far better than the east, the best beach is 5 mins stroll from both east and west and we spent most of our time there as it was better for swimming and no Longtail boats. Service was good, the breakfasts quite satisfactory. We ould recommend this resort. Longtail to Ao Nang is 100 BHT but the boats wait until they are full before leaving so you can have to wait for the boat to fill or pay more.	Sawadee are excellent, we have used them several times and have always been very satisfied.

There was construction period ongoing when we was there but we got a decent rebate and they managed to keep the activities so the disturbance was minimal. I can recommend this hotel	Excellent
Miss K. Stark 2008-08-02 until 2008-08-06	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East My partner and I stayed at Sunrise Tropical for 4 days after a very busy week in Bangkok and we loved it. The Resturant was probably the best food on Railay. Only problem being that the wait for meals was normally quite long and they hardly ever came out at the same time. The complimentary breakfast though needs improvement. The rooms were glorious! I would definately recommend the Villa Plus as the outside bathroom/shower was amazing, the room was well decorated and very large and comfortable. The staff also offered great service and were very attentive. The location was perfect. Although Sunrise Tropical is located on the bay side, it still proved to the best spot as we were in walking distance to both Phra nang beach and West Raillay beach. This Island is definately a place of serene beauty but no place for the night life. Most of the resorts do not even serve alcohol or cocktails. So if your up for a relaxing time in the sun and surf I would definately recommend both raillay and Sunrise Tropical resort.	Sawadee was a pleasure to book with. No hassels what so ever =)
Sonya Jenkins 2008-07-27 until 2008-08-01	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East We had a great stay at this hotel. The construction that is going on right now was hardly noticeable. We stayed in one of the Tropical Villas and it was a very nice room, very clean and big. The staff was friendly and always helped us out when we neeed it. We booked airport transfers and an excursions through the hotel and they both went off without a hitch. The pool was nice nad it was just a short walk to some very nice beaches. The only thing I wasn t impressed with was the breakfast but I guess that s standard for an automatically included buffet. Overall, I had a great time and would stay there again!	It was pretty easy to use, I was able to pay online no problem and there was no problem checking in at the hotel. You ll get quite a few emails, make sure to read them all carefully. Overall, very good.

It located at the eastern almost on the beach of railey but have more privacy if compare with other hotels at the western district. We booked the junior suit. It was deluxe and well equiped. I enjoy much with their private, comfort and very good looking room. The staff here is nice and helpful. It would be better if the swimmingpool can be bigger and make the resturant more popular and romance for the guest. (then, we need not go other places). Did enjoy	Very efficient. The price is reasonable. Safety and quickly.

Mah Chia May 2008-07-11 until 2008-07-13	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East This resort is situated in Railay East, but has very easy access to the beautiful Railey West! The service provided was excellent, the staff was very friendly, as we had asked for an adaptor and had some problems with the key slot at first. They provided their service very promptly. Cheaper food can be found in Ya Ya resort, another hotel along Railey East, but in general I am very satisfied with my stay here.	Very fast and no problems at all.

Although there were several warning against visiting during the low season (there was quite a bit of construction in progress in the area) the construction was not an issue. It rained almost daily but did not impede our plans at all. The room was all that was promised and the maids worked around our lazy morning schedule of coffee on the porch before venturing out for the daily activities.	This was our first booking with Sawadee and there were no glitches - we will definitely book through them again.

We had a fantastic stay in a Tropical Villa Plus and we loved it so much, we changed out plans to stay on an extra night. We had to spend the last night in a Tropical Villa, but this was great too. We thought this hotel represented good value for money. If we go back to Thailand again, we would definitely head straight over to Railay to stay here again. It was worth paying the extra cash for the Villa Plus - it was quite an experience!!	Booked through Sawadee without a hitch!

Yvonne Louise Rittedal 2008-03-15 until 2008-03-19	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Vi hade bokat en Tropical Villa junior och den var helt OK, sängarna som vanligt HÅRDA! Extrasängen var bättre. Ute var det massor av mygg så vi satt aldrig vid uteplatsen. Vårt resesällskap fick en villa som det verkligen stank fränt i,så ta inte B2002(tror det var den, längst upp i raden iallafall) !! Trädgården var fint planerad och roliga växter o träd som även apflockar besökte, poolen var ren o fin men det luktade ruttna ägg ibland vid ena änden. Frukosten var OK men inte mer, ofta slut på olika saker. Restaurangen hade ganska god mat men servicen var väl inte den snabbaste, tror faktiskt personalen på hela ön var rätt trött på turister i slutet på säsongen. Standen går inte att bada på men det tar 5 min att gå till västra sidan. I stort sett ett bra ställe för oss med två barn 3 och 5 år, lugnt o fint, dock inte värt mer än det kostade!	Enkelt, snabbt o utmärkt!

Liked Railay beach, relatively quiet hotel but other bars along beach. Food very good in restaurant, especially local dishes!Good value - I would stay again. Short Walking distance to other beach for swimming and sunbathing plus boats to islands and Ao Nang.

Great remote place that feels like you ve escaped the mass of phuket. Beautiful gardens and best of both worlds with pool and tidal marshes on one side and then a 5min walk through to the other side was a great beach. Do the walk up past where the rock climbers are to come out to another hidden beach. Really enjoyed the peach of this place and everyone seemed relaxed and good food along the beach front.If you do go get a speedboat there not the ferry. It took us 6hrs to get there by ferry and 2hrs by speedboat on way back!!!	Thanks sawadee you re always reliable and always come through with the bookings!

Great clean villas, and beautifully placed in a quiet fantastic tropical garden. Enjoyed every aftenoon when returning from the most fantastics beaches ever seen for relaxing on the front terrace in our villa. Nice staff trying their best to understand and speak english. We have promised ourself to go back. Highly recommend.	Tried to contact Sawadee on e-mail, but Sawadee never returned answer. Beside that - no problems.

The park/garden around the houses is full of tropical trees, flowers and bushes. Very nice. We had a beautiful bungalow close to the swimmingpool. The room is very well designed and the bathroom is optimal. The shower is outside the house and very tastefull made. The staff is very kind and the room very clean. We will come back. The room is	Very good service as usual.

Resort and bungalow are very nice with a 10 minutes beautiful walk to the beautiful Phranang Beach which is much better than touristic Raillay west. Independently, where you stay on the Raillay Penninsula seven nights are just enough since there are limited number of restaurants, price level is 30-50% higher than anywhere else and service level at Raillay west restaurants are terrible. It´s also good to know that if you try to go to Ao Nang after sunset and back to Raillay the long tail boat charge is outrageous and difficult to get one.	Excellent

Especially the outdoor showers. Staff and breakfast is great. Location on East Railey may not be for everyone but works well for us. Centrally located between dining on West Railey and Pranang Beach.

The buffet breakfast was also at a very high standard and the staff where very friendly and helpful.	Would have liked to been able to pay for the accom in 1 lot, not having to pay for a deposit, then again for the rest.

Very good value for money compared to the other resorts at Railey. Very nice bungalows, good food, good service, nice pool. There are never a problem to get a sunbed at the pool. A very relaxing place to stay in. We would recommend this resort to everyone we know!	Very good and quick service and information.

However in high season I don t recommend going. Rooms are overpriced (rooms that are normal ones in low season are called Junior Plus and charged more even though it is the exact same room, just you dont have a shower but a bath tub). Also now they ask 50% of the room price for late check out... And our aircon did not work properly - lowest was 25 degrees. It is still a nice place, staff is very friendly and are very attentive but rather go when it is less busy.	Everything great. Very fast, very efficient!

Gary Stanley 2007-11-21 until 2007-11-23	Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Totally recommended. Rooms are faultless. Apart from Sunrise Tropical Resort, the rest of Railay beach is a bit of a dump and not worth the effort to get there.	Great service
