Casper af Jochnick 2008-11-07	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach The hotel was nice and the rooms were cleaned ok. The downside is that the staff in the resturant was a bit negligence and it took a long time to get the food we ordered in the restaurant.	Wery good.

Breakfast is only average but the main problem is that when you use a car its impossible to reach this hotel you must take a long tail boat each time you want to leave this place. Another thing dont go there in the afternoon with heavy suitcases because the sea is down and you must carry them walking 300 meters to reach the boat most of the time with the sea covering your feet.

Hafize Tunali 2008-10-08	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach 1-the hotel place is very good, next to the beach and in the palm trees. There are so cute squirrels around. 2-rooms and service are also nice 3-The only bad side is they don t serve alcohol&beer because they are muslim. There is only soft drinks. But you can eat in the next restaurants.	The personel is very nice, excellent
Romy 2008-10-05	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach The bungalows where very old - and the price too high for it. We had a fan bungalow and a friend one with a/c but no big difference here. The staff was unfriedly: we had to carry our luggage on our own back to the boat and be careful of the cleaner - we lost some money. The beach was good. But when you arrive there by longtailboat you have to exit on the other beach - which is a wet and aching (stones) problem at low tide.	very good, quick and uncomplicated

The Hotel is well located direct on the best beach of the area and close walking to all other facilities of Railay. You could say it is not a luxury hotel but it is not the primary thing when you stay there.
Khaled elsharkawy 2008-08-12	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach the hotel is very nice. the location and the view of the west beach is beautiful, much more better than the east beach. breakfast is good, staff are nice and the rooms are big enough for couples. the garden needs more care,. the swimming pool is ok. i will recommend this hotel for stay in railay bay. the only problem i faced is the transportation to aonang or namao bays by longtail boat, you have to find a group of 7 persons or more otherwise you will pay more	very effecient and trustable. thank you

Good breakfast buffet.	excellent service, had no troubles with airport pick-ups from Phuket, despite multiple parties, and a 4 hour delay after a missed flight. Khun Tiger, our driver, was amazingly patient and willing to wait for us.
Paal Skjelstad 2008-07-30 until 2008-08-07	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach We stayed in the bungalows with a/c and were very happy with our stay. It s not top notch or newly renovated, but the stay as a whole was very good. It s located on the west side of raylay beach, and this side is definitelty the one to stay at. Only accessible by longtail boat, but this proved to be no large problem. This meant the beache and area was not as busy, which is what we were seeking. So a stay is recommended.	Excellent booking service. Recommended.

Service is less then friendly and the breakfast is riddled with flies. Not great . Maybe better then most places on Railey...but I would not stay here again.	Okay.
Colleen Maust 2008-07-15 until 2008-07-23	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach We had a very pleasant experience staying at Sand Sea Resort. The beach was breathtaking, the pool lovely, the gardens beautiful. I have a few complaints that I ll share, but they weren t enough to ruin our vacation! The hot water wasn t always consistent, sometimes going cold in the middle of a shower. Some of the staff was not very friendly - particularly those that worked in the mini-mart and tour buildings. The breakfast got a bit dull - we stayed for 8 days and only one or two dishes changed each day. The food in the restaurant wasn t particularly great (especially compared to next door Railay Bay Resort). We took a risk going in July (rainy season), and alas it rained 4 out of the 8 days we were there. Still, we had a very good time. I think, however, if I were to return to Railay I would probably stay at the Railay Bay Resort, which seemed much nicer and the staff much friendlier.	Since I booked with my company s credit card (which is not in my name), I was required to get a copy of the card-holder s passport and send the payment through money transfer. It was a little bit of a hassle, especially when the resort never asked to see the additional passport information.

evelyn fletcher. bernard fletcher 2008-05-07 until 2008-05-11	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach Well what can i say choose another hotel, breakfast not good,the hotel just did not seem interested in doing anything for you, did not find the hotel people friendly.The rooms are nice we had a deluxe air-con and i know it is a reasonable priced hotel but never again also make sure you keep things locked up we made 1 mistake and paid the price also hotel did not seemed concerned with our loss just a shrug of the shoulders and that was it also have never stayed before at a hotel were they ask you not to put toilet paper down the toilet place it in the waste paper basket are they serious ?also have read this on other reports about the longtail guys holding you to ransome well thats true to go 15 minutes to AO NANG $1000BHT	Excellent no problems with Sawadee would use again. You known the syndrome - towel on the sunbed at 7.00 am and then a no show till mid morning . Breakfast OK. No alcohol served at this resort and other restaurants. Can bring in take away. Bungalows adequate, if a little over priced but it is a pretty isolated area.	Excellent as usual.

Stayed in a clean and nice fan bungalow. A very nice poolarea but too small and very few sundbeds considering the size of the resort. The breakfest is good but nothing extra.	Very good, quick and good rates compared to other sites.

Khairul Nazri 2008-04-02 until 2008-04-06	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach excellent location with beautiful landscaped surrounding fronting a nice beach. Stayed at the deluxe a/c bungalow with good amenities and fixture settings. Friendly staff and prompt service as we had asked for extra towels and an air freshner and on both ocassion were delivered timely to the room. Thai food at the restaurant was good, breakfast was ok but it could ve been better with more varieties from the buffet (only 1 or 2 items were changed daily, the rest remain the same, so we got bored on our 3rd breakfast there). Would consider staying there again in future visit but probably would be staying in the slightly cheaper superior a/c bungalow as location wise is the same as with the deluxe s (we ve chosen the deluxe assuming that it ll be closer to the beach)	Excellent, effecient and prompt.

Jessica Blandford 2008-03-15 until 2008-03-18	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach I stayed in a fan bungalow and although they look a bit shabby on the outside they are great. Although you would expect them to be for 1900 baht! King size bed, toiletries, minibar, chairs on the porch and great location. Room cleaned daily. Breakfast was pretty good too! Railay west is expensive so if you want something super cheap, stay on Ton Sai and just get a long tail boat over during the day. Apparently bungalows there are 100 - 500. Had a great stay at sand sea.	Great as always.
Linda Corsini 2008-03-03 until 2008-03-05	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach We booked for a deluxe air-condition bungalow (which I suppose is the best considering other rooms), the room was a little bit expencive for thai standars but really nice and clean. Aircon ok. Need spray for insects. GREAT garden where you can walk on.. We didn t used the pool but nice. You can rent for a boat and visit Ao Nang (6 person 200 THB each one way) and they will come back to pick you up. On railay beach there is nothing to do but is nice to drink and talk setting on the beach... really romantic! West side is without dubts the best side. Breakfast and staff ok, nothing special.	Perfect as always

Lim Wee Kok 2008-02-08 until 2008-02-11	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach This hotel provides a clean room although nothing to fanciful. You get what you paid. We are given the room at the end of the resort, about 3 mins walk from the reception. Do get a room at the front or middle if you can. Our room is besides the common walkway where pple walk bwt Railey East and West, so we do get some noises esp st night. We did not encountered mosquitoes, so you do not need insect repellant. The food at the hotel is average at best, so we have our dinner at next hotel (I think it is called Railey Viallage Resort). The food there is better.	Booking service is excellent. Just a commnet that there should be a contact number given for airport transfer.
William Lindeman 2008-02-04 until 2008-02-11	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach We had asked from adjoining rooms when we made our reservations for two fan bungalows but were not informed that only the a/c units are adjoined. I guess the correct word to use is connecting . So we were given 2 fan bungalows and since our children are ages 1,3,5 my husband and I had to split up, sleeping in separate bungalows for our vacation. That was a disappointment. The staff at the Sand Sea are not friendly or helpful in general, but there are a few pleasant employees. The resort pool was crowded during the day. Lots of families and young children. At night the resort is very quiet which was great since we had our windows open. Fan bungalows for families with small children not used to hot climates isn t the best option!	I asked for adjoining rooms for my family and was not informed that they were not available. Instead we were given 2 separate bungalows so my husband and I had to split up between the two.

Paal and Kjersti 2008-01-06 until 2008-01-20	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach We lived in a Sweet-cottage with see-front .The see-front turned out to be the pool-front.All traffic inn and out of the resort passed close by our veranda, so no privacy. The yacuzzi is a concrete bathtub and with rater disgusting murcy water.And the polstered hedding of the bed contained BED-BUGS.An overprised cottage, one really expects better standard for this price!!The service was slow in the resaurante. Food was tasty. But on demand tere was No roomservice!	Booking service was exelent!

The resort was ok but the staff wasn´t so friendly as we have been used to in Thailand. The breakfast was poor with not a lot to choose between. It was quite expensive in the minimart. The hotels restaurant was nothing to write home about..	Good booking service with fast response on our booking request.

IT was very nice and we enjoyed the extra space on some rainy days. We were disappointed in the selection of TV channels why even bother with TV if there is nothing but American rubbish to watch. Railay is fast becoming overdeveloped - get there soon if you want to enjoy the solitude.	Had our first problem with all our sawadee bookings. We had changed our booking from fan to aircon and the message hadnt got through to the hotel. However a phonecall soon sorted it out.
Kate Wallman 2007-08-07 until 2007-08-11	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach Staff never smiled in 4 days, food in restaurant was poor and the cottages are set back from the beach with no breeze so you feel like you re in a sauna. Customers should be made aware that this is a muslim resort and they serve NO ALCOHOL ie. no cocktails at sunset by the beach. Good price for low season with extra night free was the only good point. Railay is quite dead in the low season and I would strongly recommend checking out Phi Phi instead at this time unless you re a climbing enthusiast.	The booking service worked perfectly

This resort is a great deal, you get direct beach access just like the adjacent high end resorts, but don t have to pay an arm and a leg. We had deluxe bungalow, would recommend this so you are closer to the beach. Pool is nice, in windy weather there was always an attendant cleaning up leaves etc. Breakfast was below average, but you can t have it all! Clean and spacious rooms. Railay West is a must-see for anyone.	Excellent, no problems.
barbara bolton 2007-03-14 until 2007-03-16	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach Bungalows in real need of a refresh,we went for just the fan,wished we had gone for the air con as it was so hot my fault for being a cheap skate.The pool area was really nice with good shaded ares if wanted.Breakfast could have been much better if they had covered dishes like other place we stayed, they just used cling film over the fruit hence lots of flies.Iwouldnt go back there	excellent

Great restaurant as well - they don t serve alcohol, but allow you to bring your own drinks to the table. Nice room as well (A/C Bungalow)	Worked like a charm!

John Wyeth 2007-02-02 until 2007-02-06	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach This hotel suffers in comparison to the 2 others at which we stayed. We thought the breakfast was poor and service indifferent. We noted you d have to be up very early to be sure of a lounger by the swimming pool! Our room was clean but the shower quite temperamental. Pathways around the grounds were not well-maintained and at night quite poorly lit. We used the scenic Phra Nang Beach on the east side and really enjoyed our days spent there. Buying food such as bbq d sweetcorn, fresh pineapple, several different types of doughnut from the beach sellers or dishes like Pad Thai and Fried Rice cooked freshly, from the longboats further down the beach, was great fun and very cheap. Swimming was also more pleasant here as part of the bay was roped off.	No problems with booking, would use this company again.

The staff are great the room was beautiful and the grounds suitably jungle lush! we would def stay there again. the rooms don t have mosquito nets though so you need to take your own. we had a superior aircon room.	they took all teh stress out of the booking and made it hassle free!

The shower is just not strong enough and the water temperature kept changing itself. It s either too hot or too cold. Showering was a bit upsetting.	Very fast and reliable service.

Hane 2006-12-17 until 2006-12-21	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach We stayed four nights on the Deluxe air-con bungalow, which was nice - clean and air-conditioning worked well. Not much to complain about the hotel. Some construction work were performed nearby, but it did not disturbed much. Breakfast nothing very special, but you could always find something to eat. Short walk to the east side, where the inexpensive restaurants are located.	Excellent.

The room we had was full of mosquitoes and was grim and depressing - The food was horrible and full of flies... and the west beach was nothing special. Much better to stay on the east side where there are much better places and much much cheaper - and closer to the prettiest beach and restaraunts.
Frankel - NL 2006-12-15 until 2006-12-19	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach Bit overpriced (price - quality). Rooms were ok, but terrible smell in the room when we checked in. Only thing they did was spraying. Shower was not working properly. Repair guy came next morning and it was fixed. (In my opinion these things should be checked before guest checks in.) Breakfast was ok, service reasonably. Not very helpfull with other requests. Overall I found it too expensive for the quality you get. Other side of the island (East Hat) have many cheaper and better accomodations + there also are cheaper and better restaurants at East Hat. Far better than the West Side.	Good service from Sawadee. Would use them again. Poor communication though in giving other information than the hotels they sell.

Bungalows are great, service good, restaurant good, pool lovely, location on the beach in west railey is perfect and the walk to lively east Railey only takes 5 minutes. Will definitely come back here! Railey itself is absolutely beautiful, my favourite place in Thailand so far.	Excellent - completely hassle-free

Service and breakfast are very good. Overall very good value for money. HOWEVER: at the time of our stay the resorts just adjacent to the Sand Sea were undergoing some major reconstruction. This creates excessive noise from 8am till 8pm (yes, 8pm) and did not allow us to relax in the beautiful balcony of our room, nor at the pool-side. One would expect a note in the hotel s web site or at sawadee.com reservation site, alas, there is no such notice. Luckily we were there only 3 nights and spent most of the time on the quite beach. Judging by the scale of the constuction work going on, they still have a few months to go. I would love to return when the construction work is over.	Excellent.
Hayley James 2006-12-04 until 2006-12-09	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach Perfectly located hotel on Railay Beach. Although the hotel was fully booked the pool area and beach are relatively quiet and you can always get a spot. We stayed in a Deluxe Air Con room which was comfortable and clean. However, the breakfast was not great, there was a wide selection but everything was left uncovered so there were flys everywhere. We also got locked out one evening as we returned late with no one on reception, luckily we had friends staying there and managed to sleep in their room. The beach is much nicer on the west side where is hotel is, the east side is basically a building site but there are a few good bars and resturants here.	Booking service was very efficient.
Patricia Knoll 2006-12-02 until 2006-12-07	Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach The hotel was nice, but unfortunately it is surrounded by CONSTRUCTION which starts at 8 a.m. and often continues until 10 or 11 p.m. I would not recommend staying at this hotel until about 2008 because the construction will not be done for several months. It is very close to the hotel, on both sides. I could not hear it in my room when the a/c was on, but I found that I left the resort every day because I did not enjoy hanging around the pool or on my veranda with the construction noise.	No problems!
