Lanta Palace Resort & Beach Club, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
Went during low season. The rooms were cheap. Paid for standard room but was upgraded to Garden bungalow. The room is ok/average. Not bad for the price (being upgraded), for low season. Seaview room has great view (right infront of a pool , facing the sea at the same time. Nice sea breeze). However, it will be over priced if it is any other seasons. Too quiet during low season, there isn t much happening at night, even visiting the supposedly busier beach nearby (Klong Nin beach) most places were closed at night or not having any customers. Massage generally is 300 bahts to 400 bahts per hour but it Ao Nang (Krabi) its cheaper (200 bahts) and Ao Nang seems more happening even during low season, compared to Koh Lanta. Budget Transport going there (ferry-van) is a problem too during low season.. 250 bahts one way which was supposedly 2.5 hours but ended up 5 hours as the driver was busy picking up his frens as well as goods that he helped deliver to from Krabi to Koh Lanta. Heard from another tourist that i met at the resort, she had the same experience too.

Booked thru internet. Responded within a day. But when have more enquiries, they don t usually answer the questions accordingly until I had to ask the same questions 3 times continuously.

price for low season on sawadee.com still ok. For High Season to much. ( But, the whole Island become more and more expensive) Bungalow ok. Everyday was cleaned. Personal helpful and friendly. Food is ok. But the whole Resort & Beach Club need a renovation.

Not at all what we expected. Suitable for families with small children (pool). Old and not well maintained bungalows, small beach and too expensive. I would say: choose somewhere else. For instance White Rocks - not ON the beach, but nice bungalows and staff.

We had booked a bungalow on the 4th or 5 th row but got a room in a building instead but that was a pleasant surprise. Rooms where big, clean and nice, good value! The staff provided very good service! The beach was great even though it was a secluded part of Klong Nin. I will absolutely recomend this hotel!

Very good!

The room was nice, very clean but smelled a little, but after 5 Min. AC it was ok. The food was excellent and the people were friendly. The beach is not compelling. But the restaurant at the beach is very nice in the evening.

The booking worked quick and without complications.

Lanta Palace Resort & Beach Club, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach At first we arrival to the hotel we had to waited a tranfer from the hotel for pick us up from the airport for1 hour. And i had to called to the hotel for 3 times and asked them why i didn t seen anyone from the hotel waited us at the airport. And they said to me they already sent a tranfer for pick us up at the airport at 12:45pm.Truely our flight will arrival at 16:05pm.But the reservation there was not so good because he didn t said sorry to us that they made mistaked about a time.Actually this is a mistake from sawadee.com agency too because they did wrong about time for us and we already sent email to them about our time to Krabi Airport. But we was upset a lots because this hotel(a reservation)they DIDN T SAY SORRY us...NEVER.And the reservation there... he asked for other guy pick us up from the airport and that guy truely he is not a staff or a tranfer from the hotel he just came in the town and he will went back to Koh Lanta. And this guy he said someone from the hotel called him for pick us up from the airport...the hotel don t want to waste time came to the airport for pick us up again. But we already paid for a tranfer 2,500 baht.I m not expected this hotel will treat with they guests like this.Should they re say sorry. But they said to us..you don t need to paid anymore for a tranfer for a guy that pick us up at the airport.Oh! should i say this hotel had a good staff and very polite with a guests or very IMPOLITE.This is not enough to write for this hotel...at first that we re arrive to the hotel and we get in the room...at once we met too many cockroach...also everyday untill we came back and we stayed there for 7 nights...and suddenly we would like to changed the room but in the room they didn t have a telephone to called a reception. So we decided we must stayed there. Also a housekeeper seem they re really not made up clean the room...maybe only a floor that they made. Also they re not changed a ticking, pillow and blanket. We re saw a marked that we killed a cockroach on bed still and many things there that made us not impressed.Include a breakfast there...they re never changed we remember only 2 menu that they changed but other days same as everyday. So we will not go back to this place again.

Was ok with booking service. But they re make mistake with a time arrival. And they make us waste times because of them.

Lanta Palace Resort & Beach Club, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
The resort is nice but I think they should improve the walk way lightings. A bit dark at night. Room is spacious and clean with a really powerful air-con. They should install football channel in the room so we no need to walk out to watch live football matches. Anyway you can find a nice pub outside the resort with big LCD screen for drinking. Room which facing the sea is good cos is just beside the pool. Food is nice there but a bit expensive(maybe 20-30 bahts every dish more than outside). Take a ride to Saladan and you can find nice and cheaper foods there. Lanta seafood resturant is highly recommended. You can rent motorbike at the resort if you want. If you want to have a nice and basic holiday, that is the resort you should go. I will defintely book there for my next visit.

Very efficient. Keep up the good job. :-)

Lanta Palace Resort & Beach Club, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
We have been at Koh Lanta , Klong Nin beach before and were expecting the same beach when we booked this place. Unfortunately the beach was not the same one, the resort is situated at another beach, north of Klong Nin. This beach is very rocky and it is hard to walk out in the water. We had to take a taxi every day to the klong Nin beach to have a god swim. The bungalows were good and clean, nice beds. The staff at the restaurant were not so polite and made many mistakes with the orders. We will not go back to this place.

Very good service and easy bookingsystem! Will use it again!

Nice place. The staff at the restaurant and hotel were very helpful and firendly with taxis and tours. Great food, very fresh seafood. Clean room and first impression is that things are a little tight but there is plenty of space for all. Don t miss the snorkeling at Kho Rok. We wil return. Good value, beautiful sunsets.

Nice, relaxing place! We enjoyed our stay very much, nice location and bech, great pool and cheap and good restaurant. If you book 1st row, be sure to get Bugalow 114, 115 116 or 117. 111 to 113 are poolside, also not that romatic. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

superb, as ever! Sawasdee is, also not always the cheapest, the best digital booking service, congratulation!

Lanta Palace Resort & Beach Club, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
Friendly staff, a good restaurant and access to a range of trips and activities made this a very enjoyable 10-day stay. The staff do a classy fire-show every week with fire-sticks, poi etc. Rooms are clean and comfortable - similar facilities in all rooms so the ones in the two back rows are good value. There is still a local feel here though the area is becoming more developed (there s a new 5-star resort next door, but it has been well done and is unobtrusive from the beach - it s worth dining there just for the experience, with a main course costing only around 400 baht, but the wine is ultra expensive). It s not really a swimming beach here so you re more likely to be in or around the pool or off doing elephant treks etc. The 3-island trip to Phi Phi and Bamboo Island was great, particularly if you like snorkelling. If you are looking for somewhere very quiet with few other people around you should head either to the far south of Ko Lanta or else to islands much further south. If you want sterile luxury then there are plenty of sterile resorts to choose from, or if you want the party scene then go to somewhere over-crowded like Phi Phi and join everyone else walking up and down the streets all day. Lanta Palace is pleasant, low-key, unpretentious and affordable with good food and easy access to as many or as few activities as you want. We would certainly be happy to go back there.

Lanta Palace Resort & Beach Club, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
Location in the middle of Koh Lanta makes it easy to go around the island. Good restaurant with very friendly staff and good house keeping made our stay enjoyable. If you want a nice view, then book to beach front as there is not much space between the bungalow rows. I would not recommend to put restaurant bills to room account as the staff does not check bungalow numbers on keys, so due to language problems there can be missunderstandings and incorrect billing. If you however want to use room account, then keep book on what you have used every day and check all the receipts while checking out. Pool is available for those who do not like to swim in the sea, also during the low tide there are a lot of rocks visible. The beach is nice and calm with massage services available. These guys can do good fire shows in the evenings. Restaurant prices were higher than in other places but food was worth of price paid. Room prices included breakfast (good selection of choices from the menu).

Didn t know what we had gotten ourselves into at first - travelling there by 4X4 truck over dirt roads at night was a bit worrying. beautiful weather turned on the next day to show us a gorgous resort right on the beach. very friendly staff who like to joke around with you and help in anyway possible. comfy room with the fridge didnt work and to get hot water in the shower you have to reach up and hold a button down the entire time - very ackward. nice restuarant next to gorgous pool. excellent place to relax at. would stay again.

We became och very good service and liked Lanta Palace Resort very much. Very comfortable bungalows, a clean och beautiful swimmingpool och a staff who took very good care of the guests. We can really recomand Lanta Palace Resort. The bad thing was about Koh Lanta which became like a big workingplace where they built new resorts and hotels everywhere. VERY bad and dirty ways and we needed four-wheels-drive for all transports. The beautiful and genuin Koh Lanta are going to disapear and that´s a shame.

The bookingservice was very good.

Lanta Palace Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
Great place with extremely friendly staff. The staff is what makes this place so special. It s on a beach that s not so great at low tide (rocks sticking out of the water), but perfect at high tide. Compared to the rest of the island, these bungalows and the rest of the property compare very well with the competition. Sitting on the beach, you have a clear view of north to south with nothing obstucting your view - perfect for sunsets. The restaurant is great and there are at least two very good others, Blue Moon Cafe (we suggest the Barracuda with Port Wine and peppersteak with mashed potatoes) and Otto s Bar and Grill heading southward on the beach within a 10-20 minute walk. There is also a quiet village, Ban Khlong Nin just south of here as well that has just about everything you need so that you don t have to head back up north into town. Beachfront bungalows face right onto the ocean with little to block the view. The pool is nice. Overall, this place is quiet (except for the construction next door - however, construction is inescapable on the quickly developing island) and very safe. It s not super fancy, but yet is quite good. We re thinking of coming back next year for holiday.

2004-09-05 until 2004-09-08
Lanta Palace, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Nin Beach
On arrival, the place, which is rather isolated, appeared grubby, and there were a lot of remains of wood, paint, wire, etc., with belated gardening and repairing going on right outside our room. The room itself was OK although the promised sea view from the beach-front bungalow did not materialise due to a large screen right along the beach-front itself. We were told that it had been erected for a storm the previous night, but the sandbags and other aspects of the fence told a different story. The beach had accumulated alot of plastic bags bottles and other rubbish, making it a bit unsavoury. The restaurant could offer only a limited part of its menu (eg no fish or sea-food !!). We were constantly told the problems related to low season, but you either offer a service or you don t. We would suggest that if they can t provide the goods they should, like several other nearby hotels, close during the off-season. If they remain open, we would advise people not to patronise the place (even at reduced rates) at this time of year - there are many other excellent alternatives in this part of Thailand at the same or lower cost.

The booking service was efficient and presented no problems

Lanta Palace was an excellent place to stay. Rooms are nice and clean, air-conditioning and hot water work very well. The staff were friendly and happy to help us with everything we asked. A view to the sea is great. Food in the restaurant was delicious and cheap. Highly recommended!

We ended up to the Lanta Palace because some recommendations in this forum were so good about the place. And we are very happy, we believed what people say. Sawadee turned out to be a very efficient, practical and easy-to-use way to book accomodation and get information. We will surely use it again.

This was our first trip to Thailand and it was just by chance we decided to go to Koh Lanta. We saw a hotel at Sawadee`s page on the net, it was Lanta Palace and after the stay we can say that the name is just right, it`s a true Palace.Everything was perfect, bungalows, restaurang and the surroundings, but the best part still was the wonderful staff, they really made us feel good. We also like to specially thank Cal in the reception, he helped us in the best way with everything. Fam. Andersson Sweden

We can just say that we are very pleased with all service from Sawadee. The online booking system really did work well.Fam. Andersson Sweden
