About the hotel:
We stayed in one of the villas and loved having so much open area to spread out in and to be able to hang our much needed laundry! The decor and especially the bathrooms definitely are due for renovation, but I hope that the plans to turn it into a 5 star hotel don t mean losing the wonderful private villas. They have so much character and we really enjoyed having our own private porch and terrace. Our room was conveniently close to the pool, restaurant, lobby, and an easy walk to the beach and bar area. You could hear the sound of the waves too. The grounds are lush and green, it was as if we were in the jungle. We saw a huge monitor lizard our first day, and were told that a family lived on the grounds. There were frogs and so many beautiful birds and we heard a cacophany of sounds at night, especially when you walked down towards the beach. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and although we didn t request it, our towels and sheets were changed everyday, which was a nice touch as it was the rainy season and we had sand everywhere. The private beach was gorgeous and the water was deliciously warm. The included breakfast was very good - the usual combination of Asian style buffet (rice porridge, fried rice, fried noodles and some sauteed veggies), and western style buffet with bacon, ham, sausages, potatoes, grilled tomato and made to order omelette/egg station. The pastries were made fresh daily and the toaster was one of those pass-through broiler things that can manage a high volume of bread, much better than the weak 2 slice at a time toaster that you have to stand by or someone steals your toast... We ate lunch down at the bar a couple of times, the food was decent and just so convenient, especially if you were being lazy and wanted to hang by the beach all day. We had dinner once and the bbq seafood was a scorched and mostly inedible mass of rubbery incinerated prawns and calamari. The salad was wonderful in contrast, although the greens were iceberg lettuce, they were fresh and crisp and included sweet cherry tomatoes and had a very good vinaigrette. I was slightly surprised by how far we were from town (which was mostly great for being away from the tourist area), but the round trip taxi was US $30 and cost more than our dinner at Ruen Mai, which is highly recommendable btw despite the cost of the taxi... The hotel has a shuttle, but it only goes into town a few times a day and you have to schedule with the hotel. The hotel didn t have internet available in the rooms, only on a few ancient pcs in the lobby which were riddled with spyware and you were lucky if they booted up and connected to the internet. Hopefully that is something that will also be fixed with the renovation.

We actually had problems booking this particular resort with another agency, but Sawadee came through and was able to get us the rate we wanted. They also responded to an inquiry I had in a timely manner. The only improvement would be to have a live chat available on their website!

About the hotel:
V good hotel medium price hotel (largely bungaloes) set in lovely garden well hidden from the beach/sea> Unfortunately understand it is to be closed end of season and replaced by all-inclusive 5-star job. Only real downside, not specific to this hotel,is the Costa Brava/ tacky nature of nearby town (Ao Nang). Restaurant etc prices in area double those of northern Thailand.

This is a first rate hotel, beautifully landscaped so much so that it is difficult to see it from the sea. The hotel staff are lovely, the food very good, the sea excellent. I rate it more highly than the official rating.

We loved this hotel. The welcome was warm, our accommodation overlooking the beach excellent and staff always helpful. We thought the choice at breakfast was very good and enjoyed the other meals which we took here. We d definitely recommend this hotel and would like to return.

About the hotel:
Excellent resort. Great for kids...age 2 and 4. They had a blast in the pool and on the beach. A bit of coral on the beach that could be a hazard to your feet when going for a swim but really nothing to worry about if your careful. We loved the free breakfast every morning. The Thai massages were excellent. The restaurants just outside the resort were great...small and not much to look at..but great food. A free shuttle was available to go into town....about a 20 min ride through the countryside...we enjoyed seeing how the Thai people live. Booked a trip to Phi Phi Island through the resort...highly recommended! We took our kids and they did great...the guides were wonderful at helping out when we needed a hand. Our only negative thing to say...and really it is kind of petty is that the hotel internet cards weren t working properly....we had a bunch of time left on a couple of cards we had and then the next time we went to use them it said there were zero minutes left. Then the hotel manager didn t believe us...oh well..not a big deal. If you are travelling with kids and want a nice quiet, beautiful place to stay I recommend Andaman.

About the hotel:
Being in a relatively undeveloped part of Thailand,this hotel is excellent value.The restaurants and food are good although the beach facilities and the in-house amenities are a little basic.There is a good spa/massage parlour but those looking for large pools/diving facilities or a gymnasium will find them lacking.There is little to do here if it is wet.The tour counter and shop are very adequate and a free courtesy bus/truck operates to Ao Nang and for a modest fee,to Krabi.The roof top villas are highly recommended,well appointed with all one could wish for.The staff are very friendly and helpful although patience is needed at times as their understanding of English is very limited.We did not find this to be any great problem however. The resort is on a very quiet piece of coastline with fabulous karst scenery around the area and there are opportunities for shopping and eating outside but close to the hotel. If you want a quiet,away from the tourist hotspots type of holiday,The Andaman is the place to go.I would not hesitate to return. It must be the only tropical holiday resort we have been to where the management and staff lined up on the entrance steps to wave us goodbye - a really personal touch which will be remembered for a long time.

About the hotel:
Stayed for 8 days early in November. The resort was approx 50/60% full, but plenty of room around pools, in restaurant, etc. Attention from staff, at all levels, was excellent throughout and we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed in a Superior room which was spacious, clean and very well appointed. Each seperate villa was isolated from it s neighbour which provided great privacy, and with a useful veranda for sitting out on. The grounds were very well maintained and marked for ease of finding your way around what is really quite an extensive area. The restaurants were very good with a great selection of Thai and international food - prices were very reasonable with Thai curries, for instance, available at 140 ThB upwards. On site massages were in nice surroundings and reasonably priced, but better and even cheaper treatments could be found at Porvadees 30 secs outside the complex (e.g. 1hr Thai massage 250 ThB) I would strongly recommend the resort and would have no hesitation returning.

About the hotel:
The beach and the hotel facilities at the pool area are great. The beach was as lonely as the pictures made you guess... I had a great time! The cottage rooms are really very basic standard, especially the bathroom (simple shower fixed to one temperature, separated by a curtain from nearby toilet). For one person, this was ok. The cottages are close to the street with heavy truck traffic. The staff is very friendly, though due to limited skills in english, it sometimes gets difficult in the communication. Nearby the hotel, just on the street, there are several nice restaurants, and very good tourist travel information.

About the hotel:
The Andaman Holiday Resort is located on the quiet Klong Muang Beach. Only two other hotels are on this beach. We stayed in one of the bungalows which provide a lot of space. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Service is very good and friendly. We were fully satisfied and would highly recommend this place.

The bedrooms are fitted with a queen-size bed and a single bed. Standard Rooms (20 Units) Two-storey building. Each room has a living area of 28 square meters and consists of an air-conditioned bedroom, open balcony and a shower attached to the bathtub. The bedrooms are fitted with either two single beds or one queen-size bed. Sambucar Music Bar

The 60 seats bar is the elegant frame for your pre-dinner cocktails and drinks. Along with exotic drinks, each with special recipes to suit all your preference, you will also be entertained by the songs of your favorites by our Filipino Musicians.

Ocean Cliff Coffee shop

The 90 seats coffee shop is overlooking the beach pool. The coffees shop serves breakfast and lunch. On occasions, Thai/Western Buffet Dinner is held at the coffee shop with Thai cultural shows and dances.

On the Rock Restaurant

The 60 seats beach restaurant is serving fresh seafood, the catch of the day. The menu varies from fresh crispy salads, tasty pasta, local Thai dishes with world famous flavors and contemporary Western style. (N.B. On the Rock Restaurant does not offer service during rainy season).

Beach Bar

An informal bar at the beach with an unrivaled view of the sea with a panoramic view of nearby hills and islands, for cooling cocktails and drinks. Serving guest while at the swimming pool and for sunset pre-dinner drinks to romantic music.

Seminar & Convention Room A 80 seats multi-purpose seminar room, located on the ground floor of the main building with additional space adjacent to the seminar room for coffee break.
