Less than an hour`s drive from Thailand`s northern capital of Chiang Mai, amid thickly-forested hills and misty valleys, lies the Mae-Sa Valley Resort. Two thousand feet high, in an area of great scenic charm, the landscape has been adapted to provide a new experience in holiday enchantment. Individual thatched-roof houses and bamboo cottages provide accommodation that blends beautifully with the setting and meets high standards of comfort. The mountain climate provides bright sunny days for exploring : crisp, cool evenings for fireside gatherings. And the cultivated terraces provide a riot of tropical and temperate flowers, along with all the vegetables served fresh at our restaurant. The Mae-Sa Valley is a totally new experience of Thailand. It`s remote but easily accessible, fresh with the joys of a natural environment while providing the pleasures of fine food and warm hospitality.
About the hotel: Hotel is quite old and need more maintenance on the house. The bathroom is small and old. However, the surrounding garden and waterfall are excellent view. breakfast is O.K. Overall service is good and warm wellcome.
About the hotel: Mae Sa is for those on a budget. looking for something different. It is in the countryside outside Chiang Mai, situated in beautiful surroundings. Accomodation is basic but acceptable and the price is right. The food is ok although not as good as one would expect from a place that advertises itself as a cooking school. Apart from its spectacular setting Mae Sa offers numerous crafts on the premises - batik, ceramics, paper-making etc. We would recommend Mae Sa to anyone looking to explore northern Thailand from a tranquil rural setting on a modest budget.
About the hotel: Beautiful private huts situated on a lovely landscaped hillside. Nice to get away from the hustle bustle of the cities. Food was great and well priced. Service was great, orgainized tours and provided a driver. Would definitely recommend.
About the reservation service: No problems, worked out great.
About the hotel: This hotel is a treasure. Hidden among beautiful flowers and an incredible working farm are inviting rustic cottages with wonderful views of the countryside. Crafts? no...an incredible art studio exists with working artists doing clay, papermaking and batik. The space is inspirational. You can take classes or just browse the artists at work. The staff is exceptional. They go out of their way to help you, have a great sense of humor and make you feel at home. You really get a feel for what life is like living in this environment. A driver is available on site to take you to any of the spots close by such as elephant rides, 5 star spas, orchids farms, art galleries and more. The relaxed calming atmosphere of Mae-Sa Valley is to experience the real Chiang Mai. We will definitely return for a longer stay at Mae Sa Valley!
About the reservation service: Very efficient. It was so great to have a pick up organized to take us to the hotel from the train station. Everything worked like clockwork. This is a great hotel.
About the hotel: We were a bit dissapointed. We d expected more. The rooms were dated and dark. We were the only people on the resort so there was nothing to do. No cookeryclasses or anything else. The food in the restuarant is good and the people are very friendly. They even cleaned our rental car! The closes at 20.00 o clock. You can go on the internet but it is far too expensive!
The resort is very nice situated on a hill with nice gardens.
In compare to other hotels we booked with Sawadee.com this was not so good vallue for the money but oke.
About the hotel: The staff were friendly and helpful. Our bungalow was clean and nicely decorated, and all supplies (bottled water, clean towels, etc.) were provided daily. The grounds of the resort were absolutely beautiful, with gardens, trees, and a stream running through. The pool looked very nice, but we didn t swim. Location is great for visiting the Maesa Elephant Camp (a must!), and the Queen Sikirit Botanic Gardens. The resort is a bit far from Chiang Mai, so transportation could be an issue. We paid about 150-200 baht per person to get rides up the mountain to the resort.
About the hotel: LOVELY SETTING, GREAT PLACE TO UNWIND AND ENJOY NATURE. DID NOT LIKE THE FACT YOU HAD TO PAY SERVICE CHARGE IN RESTAURANT SO WE END UP EATING IN CHIANG MAI EVERY NIGHT. FOR THE SAME PRICE WE HAD A FAR BETTER MEAL. MANAGEMENT NOT VERY HELPFUL..MORE INTERESTED IN MAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE FROM TOURISTS.WILL GO BACK FOR THE SETTINGS AND GREAT OUTDOORS..NOT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE RESORT!!!
About the reservation service: GREAT SERVICE...HAD TO CHANGE MY BOOKING AND WAS DONE SWIFTLY..THANK YOU..
About the hotel: Very quaint. Good food great staff, the best. Very good English spoken.Very helpful with side trips. Wish we had more time to explore the area. Nearby elephant camp is the best. Very quiet and great feeling of being in a natural setting in contract to busy Chaing Mai. We did find ourselves going into Chaing mai quite a bit because of time restraints but this would be a nice base to explore further surrounding areas. We would return.
About the hotel: Mae Sa Valley resort nestles in this exquisitely beautiful valley with breathtaking views as far as the eye can see. We arrived out of season, but the gardens and pool were still immaculately kept and lovely. Our accommodation was pretty and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the captain Aun went out of her way to organise vegetarian food and a coconut lemongrass soup that was delicious.
About the hotel: a really marvellous resort in wonderful nature, nice bungalows, very tasty meal, extreme friendly and helpfull stuff, this for a resonable price.a vera good alternative to sray when visiting Chiang Mai,no problem to come to the town by bus or with the driver from the hotel.
Fore shure I will come back!!

A wealth of unique
attractions to explore
The Mae-Sa Valley provides lazy days of quiet relaxation, plus the chances
to explore. Nearby are tribal villages of the Meo, where the ancient
way of custom and costume are little changed today. There's an
elephant camp, with a daily show, a short hike or bus ride away. You
can even return to the resort on an elephant's back, along a mountain
trail. Your touring can include an orchid nursery, and a lobster
farm, and take you deeper into the famous mountain scenery of the north.
Mae-Sa Valley Craft Village offers a day out with a difference.
Nestling within one of Thailand's most beautiful botanical gardens, with
its own stream and tiny waterfall, The Craft Village is home to a group of
the region's highly -skilled artisans : potters, weavers, silversmiths,
wood-carvers. But here, visitors can not only enjoy watching them at
work, they can join in! Morning and afternoon activities enable
participants to learn some of the skills that have made northern Thai
craft work famous throughout the world.
ACCOMMODATION

cottage, with special touches of comfort
The thatched-roof houses are of local wood and woven matting, each
decorated in the colourful northern style. Beds are thick and softly
quilted. Bathrooms have modern fittings, and hot water. Our
stilted bamboo cottages have been created in the traditional pattern, each
with a twin-bed room and spacious balcony.

Traditional Northern Kantoke Dinner
Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening at 7.30 pm (19.30 hrs.)

orchestra and is followed by a display of local folk dancing.
All participants will be transported from and returned to their
hotels in the Chiang Mai area. Morning sessions end and
afternoon sessions begin with a buffet lunch. Those who wish
to join only one session are welcome to spend the rest of the day
using the other facilities of our resort at no extra cost.

Where numbers allow a brief trek in the nearby mountain forest can
be organized. Anyone wishing to stay on for the thrice weekly
evening Kantoke dinner may use our shower and changing facilities.
