No internet in the rooms. Free internet at the lobby, which opens only 08:00-20:00, daily. 10Km from the city, no taxi service. Very nice dinner. O.K. breakfast.

Easy & user friendly.

The place is wonderful and the staff so nice. This was our first night in the region of Mae Hong Son and we could not have been more enchanted. The suite room with the little patio next to the river was a divine place to rest. The garden is such a lush place and being guided by dogs for a small trek was very special and memorable. The free transfer to town makes this an ideal place to rest and to discover the region.

Very good and smooth.

Really nice resort for the nature lovers. Although our villa was in the middle of a rice field, once you step inside, it feels like you are in a 4 star hotel room. Shower and toilet are ok but not well maintained. Two or three nights is sufficient.

No flaws, they had us on file when we arrived on the premises

Fern Resort is quite isolated outside the town of Mae Hong Son. Driving back in the dark after a few beers in town, I nearly missed the turning off the main road south. The resort is in a spectacular setting. Our bungalow was just a meter from the rice field that the rooms surround. While walking around the property one constantly hears a ker-plunk sound from bamboo tubes that fill with water and then hit a rock as gravity empties the water from them. The restaurant produced one of the best meals my wife and I have had together in Thailand -- not an easy task since I m a dedicated vegetarian and she s a Thai national. The room was spacious and well-appointed. I was happy that there wasn t a TV since my wife is a bit addicted to mindless shows. We didn t use the swimming pool, but its setting, being in the midst of jungle vegetation, is amazing. The staff at the resort are well trained and were always courteous and helpful. The nighttime market in the town was fun to stroll around, and one can watch football and have a beer or two at the Lakeside Bar & Restaurant.

Smooth, quick and efficient service as always.

Idyllic place to stay! Our kids loved wandering around the rice paddies, listening to the sound of crickets and watching the butterflies. The staff were lovely, very kind to us and our twins. Unfortunately there were no high chairs or baby cots, but this would be our only complaint, and we would certainly love to stay again! Really a terrific spot, with lots of attention to detail all around the resort.

Excellent. Problems quickly resolved, very prompt responses. Will use again!

We travelled for 9 years, but this is the most beautiful place we stayed in ! We had our own bungalow in the front of the property between the rice fields. The surroundings gardens are so beautiful and tropicol. The atmosphare is relaxed and the people are very friendly. Breakfast is buffet and oke. The bungalows are very clean and up to date, good standard. We couldn t understand to get this luxery for such money. It s just perfect!

Fern Resort,6 km.from Mae Hong Son, was an ideal stop on our drive round The Loop . Very tranquil with a beautiful setting and extensive, well maintained gardens. The staff were very friendly, if a little too casual! The resort could benefit from some freshening up of the lodge interiors and of the signage throughout the grounds. One criticism we do have is of the standard of food which was poor in choice, quality and presentation. Despite this, we would stay in the Fern Resort again.

Very straightforward.

The resort has a beautiful setting with a great sunset view. Staff were friendly and helpful, however for the price it lacked the finer details such as decent hot water, a kettle and heating for the cold nights.

A great booking service. No problems and easy to use.

Pros: Beautifully planned bungalows...in an ecofriendly setting surrounded by rice fields. Residents can take a nice walk from the hotel directly into a national park (about 4-6 hrs long). Breakfast is good. Cons: Far away from town...but resort provides a free shuttle sercive from hotel to town and vice versa.

A+++!

The Fern Resort is absolutely fabulous if you are wanting a quiet, relaxed, beautiful country place to stay. I would recommend it as a great location for hiking/trekking or just as a quiet beautiful place to relax in for a few days. The staff are delightful, the restaurant is excellent (if you like Thai food), and the surroundings in the mountains are gorgeous. My creekside cabin was wonderful (I could hear the creek running all night) and well designed. I didn t need the A/C (nights were chilly and days warm but not hot) but I was glad I had it just in case. Highly recommended.

Excellent

this is really beautiful..even more than on the pictures! go for the suite if you have the money.. it s worth it!!! but every single bungalow is nice... they pick you up from airport for free... and take you into town from resort for free several times a day .. really convenient and we suggest you rent a motorbike, without bike it s probably hard to get around... 150 THB = 3€ a day there is no insurance in Mae Hong Son, but there is no traffic either.. so don t worry.. you don t need a driver licence just a passport! by bike it s 15min from city to Fern resort the food is really good and of course cheap! go for the thai curry, it s the best (and if you don t want it spicy they won t add too much chilli) we stayed 3 nights, which was perfect.. first day we went elefant riding and on a boat tour(we went there by bike) second day we went to the Pha Sua waterfall, and then into town to the DOI?????-tempel.. so nice, you have to go there!

as always, best service!

The resort sits in an idyllic location and provides a really serene ambience. There are certain details about the rooms that should be paid a bit more attention to. Otherwise it was a very pleasant experience.

Modest accommodation in stunning setting. Loved the grounds of the Fern Resort, the room was okay -- a bit shabbier than I d expected (we booked a suite). Food and service were average. Overall, glad I went there but I probably wouldn t stay there again.

Very easy and convenient

a wonderful place 5 km out of Mae Hong Son. In the middle of nature, in front of a small rice field, we really enjoyed our stay. Althoug we do not really like dogs it was fun doing the jungle walk with the resort s dogs. Having a gin tonic at the rice terrace bar at sunset ... unforgettable. Highly recommendable for people looking for peace and calm !

everything perfect

Excellent for nature lovers, resort built in Rice Field: quiet, fresh air, streams flowing around house. Sunrise/sunset, moonlight & stars view. Birds, streams, bugs sound all night harmonically. National park, nature trials & waterfall minutes walk from resort. 7KM to downtown & free regular shuttles offered by resort. Good to hire motorbike from town for more flexible transport. Food is good & fresh (mostly self grow). Staff nice, warm & friendly. Guide dogs (free guide for trail walking) clever & brilliant. What a wonderful, refreshing & recharging vacation.

Convenient & quick response (( 24hr). Confirmed via email & Int l SMS. I don t even print my e-vouchure when checking in.

This resort is a great buy and presents a perfect starting place for visiting the long neck hill tribe. It is located in the midst of the forest, which is a treat because it gives you the opportunity to hear all of the sounds of nature while you are sleeping. The room and bathroom are not fancy, but the resort itself is a great buy. You can also take hikes down the trails by the restarant and watch the sun set from the hotel s platform. In summary, I think this is a good place to stay in Mae Hong Son for not a lot of money.

Fast and efficient.

Jungle living for softies. Very easygoing and laid back. Jungle noises throughout the night. Not for everybody, but we loved every minute of our stay.

We can t speak highly enough about the hotel, the staff, the grounds and the surroundings. Mae Hong Son was our idea of paradise. The hotel, while not of the 5 star polished genre left nothing to chance. It offered such friendly service and the staff tried so hard to please. The food in the restaurant was very good, the atmosphere was so peaceful everywhere on the property. Some people we met found it too quiet and out of the way but this is just what we wanted. The grounds are so lovely to wander. You were able to get to town easily however either by the van that the hotel offers several times a day or by local taxi or tuk tuk. Our deluxe bungalow was well worth the little extra we paid. We had our own thatch covered balcony off the side of our bungalow where we could sit and read and enjoy listening to the birds and the water surrounding us. Our room was very large and lovely. The hotel offers great tours and we had excellent guides everywhere we went. The hiking from the hotel is good too and the dogs who are an integral part of the staff accompany you on your walks. Such a nice touch. Thanks to the hotel for a perfect few days in northern Thailand. We hope to return next year.

It was our first booking with Sawadee and we found it very easy and everything worked out perfectly.
