Manathai is a nice oasis amongst the other residences. Staff are excellent (helpful and english is fine). Breakfast is excellent. Room was a bit small but nice. Restaurant at hotel is a bit expensive but food is delicious. Not easy to find on your own the first time but the taxi driver knew exactly where it was. Very good location to everything. Stay was only very short.

Booking was very efficient. No problems at all.

We loved this hotel...our favorite in Thailand. The staff was gracious, the outdoor bar and service were wonderful, and the room was beautifully appointed. It is conveniently located on a relatively quiet soi....a definite return visit!

Hotel charmant, chambres très cosy, malheureusement mal isolées, bien situé entre le night market et l entrée de la vieille ville . Le buffet du petit-déjeuner offre un large choix. Nous avons eu bcp de plaisir à y séjourner.

Exceptional in all aspects, staff are a credit to the business, had been to Chang Mai previously and wish we knew about Mana Thai then. Thanks, D & J Australia

Lovely hotel, 10 minute walk to the night bazaar and 10 minute walk to Tha Phae Gate. Located on quiet back street. Good breakfast included. Nicely decorated rooms and large bathroom - the shower was the only negative - could not get an even water temperature, was either too hot or too cold! Very pleasant staff. Only 29 rooms so fairly small hotel, nice pool though only 7 pool side lounges. Fairly good breakfast included.

Excellent service. Needed accommodation for the following day which was confirmed very quickly by email.

This hotel was lovely! It is set off one of the main roads in Chiang Mai so is very central but at the same time peaceful and quiet. Everything is within walking distance - restaurants, markets etc. The rooms are beautifully decorated in traditional thai style - just fantastic! The outdoor area is well landscaped with sun loungers and a small pool. Staff are attentive and provide a good service. Internet use is free, although not very fast. Overall a wonderful stay and good value for money. Would definitely return here.

Good, although it was not made clear that I had to log onto the website to make the final payment on the booking. Perhaps an email reminder would be useful.

we stayed in the slightly more expensive suite room which overlooked the pool area. The room was fantastic, very botique like with great attention to detail and a lovely bathroom(and hot shower). Our room also had a lovely outside area with a long couch and Thai cushions to relax on. You get all the normal services you would expect in a better standard of hotel such as free fruit and a turn down service. The common areas are very special with running water everywhere and a great Lanna style throughout the hotel. All the staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. As with all more expensive places the food and drink prices were high but obviously there are many places close by where you can get good cheap thai food. The location of the hotel is very good centrally located between the Tha Phae gate and the night bizzar. As other people have commented the hotel is down a soi but not a dirty small soi, just a normal Thai soi. The only possible grumble would be the fact that there are only about 7 sun loungers by the pool, so if lots of the guests on one day decide to spend it by the pool there can be a scramble for loungers early morning. Overall we were extremely happy with this wonderful little place.

smooth, no problems whatsoever.

A charming hotel in the quiet back streets of Chiang Mai, and with a pool which is a welcome respite. Excellent service, great breakfast and an all round very pleasant stay. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Chinag Mai. We liked it so much that we hope to stay at the Manathai in Phuket later this year

Excellent

AS there was a problem with a bathroom we were transfered to the Rimping Village hotel which was across the river. This was not quite as upmarket an hotel as the Manathai, but the rooms were well appointed, staff very friendly and helpful, good selection for breakfast.Towels were provided by the pool. A quiet hotel 10mins walk from the night market, but tuk tuk rank nearby. Ideal for the start of the Flower Parade in February on the Narawak Bridge about 8.30am where it wasn t crowded and the floats slow down for judging, therefore a good place to take photos. Only criticsm would be that you had to allow a long time for meals to arrived. Manathai looked very stylish, meal was excellant.Would be happy with either hotel another time.

We were given a complimentery 5 course dinner for five for the inconvenience of moving hotels. No problems with the booking.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The location was very good, within walking distance from main attractions. But it was the hotel itself that made the stay so memorable: the high quality of the room and the excellent service provided by the staff allowed us to enjoy your stay to the maximum!

It was very easy and efficient to book via the sawadee.com website.

Great environment with reasonable price. Located at very convenient location and silent enough. Staff are very nice. Good room decoration and very clean. Anyway, the swimming pool is too small. Just big enough to play water but not for swimming.

We loved it. A luxury place, you feel warmly welcomed by the staff, very friedly, very helpful, beautiful rooms. i guess this must be one of the nicest places to stay in chiang mai.

although i had booked via sawadee, the hotel was already full when we arrived. but the lady at the reception immediately upgraded us to the suite without extra costs, so everything was fine.

We enjoyed our stay at this well appointed boutique hotel in a quiet area near to the Old City & the Night Market. Rooms are set around a pool and are nicely designed though quite small. Those close to the bar & restaurant can be a little noisy. Breakfast was excellent & we found the staff to be well trained, helpful & friendly.

The booking service worked well.

Very nice hotel. Calm place in a busy city. Friendly atmosphere and very nice and helpful staff. Thai type of hotel with several buildings around the relaxing pool area. Stylish interior, clean and well equipped rooms. We really recommend this hotel to people who wants a relaxing stay (not for small children) and we will for sure return.

Very fast and helpful service.

We had a fantastic 5 nights at the Manathai Village. The room was beautiful as was the rest of the hotel. The service at the hotel was second to none - the staff were incredibly helpful and always friendly. We can t wait to go back!

Booking through sawadee.com was very easy and much cheaper than the publicised rates of the hotel.

I can only use superlatives when discussing this hotel. Only 29 rooms and this place is a jewel. On back streets so it is quiet, a very Asian influence with many antiques and exquisite in execution. From the moment you are welcomed at the entrance, the staff goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The resident manager, Mr. Sun, makes it a point to interact with each guest and no need is left unaddressed. Tour needs are tailored for each guest. The restaurant is top quality and your waist line is at risk after trying to sample all the fare provided for breakfasts. My son and daughter-in-law currently live in Chiang Mai and their choice for a hotel was magnificent. We stayed a week and would have liked to have stayed longer.

flawless as usual

Cannot say enough about Manathai, it was fabulous. From the minute we walked in the door until the moment we left, the service was excellent. We were upgraded into a suite, which was very nice. The breakfast was great, even an omlette station. Would highly recommend this resort. Very quaint and boutique - Lanna style. We loved it so much, we booked into the Manathai location in Phuket as well.

Sawadee was fantastic, reliable, trustworthy, easy to use, agents very helpful

This hotel has very lofty aspirations. Unfortunately, the reality of the product does not live up to the proposition. We had a junior suite, there was no hot water in the wash basin, often no hot water in the shower, and extremely noisy plumbing from neighbouring rooms. Overall the room was more like a studio since the bathroom was not in a separate room. Very small. Front desk were unable to book the excursions we had asked for correctly and we ended up with something different to what we had asked for, and they forgot to arrange our overpriced transfer to the airport. For this price you could do better

Excellent booking service

Positive: Very nice Hotel with pool and garden, efficient friendly staff, we had deluxe Room which was nice and clean, breakfast is good, short distance to night market / walking street (5-10 Min). Negative: Tuk Tuk and dog noise at night, because Hotel is between two small soy’s. Resume: Definitely to recommend, we would stay again.

booking fast and efficient, no problems, everything ok.

far too expensive, the suite was not a suite, the room was too small with no seating area and insufficient wardrobe space, no hot water for the sink, pleasant staff but poor english, breakfast was either cold, overcooked or undercooked. I would definitely not stay at this hotel again, nor would i recommend it to anyone else. the manager moved us to a slightly better room, and said he would ask about getting a rate reduction, but never got back to us. for $120 a night this was outrageously expensive.

Staff here very friendly, small pool but hotel bar right next to it, excellent service for pool use. Great internet use in extra room with about 5 computers. Breakfasts were adequate, access to night market area close by, together with public transporation and independent spas. Only drawback here was size of room, rather small (we had junior suite, which was tiny and anywhere else would have been embarrassed to call a suite). All in all, hotel was very positive experience, and Chiang Mai great stay, especially river rafting opportunites and shopping.

All our sawadee.com experiences have been very positive without any complications.

Stayed for 5 nights and we would say that room is generally clean and wish that if there is a luggage rest in the room for our only hand carry baggage. Service staff at Weave Restaurant, though polite but needs further training to remember customers orders and consistency in food preparation. Breakfast can be improved by reducing the amount of oil used and can be served warm or hot instead of cold.

Sawadee is prompt with our enquiries and I would say that they are a reliable agent.

For anyone looking for rest and relaxation, this is the place. This is a new hotel - only open 3 months. It s a small thai style hotel with a very accomodating staff and very quiet. The hotel room is nothing fancy but it sure rated high in my book. I was originally suppose to stay at the Tamarind Villiage but forgot to confirm my reservations during a hectic week at work. I contacted Sawadee and they found Manathai Village. Absolutely fabulous. It took me a while to get use to the non-big type hotel. I will definitely visit again when I go next year. Not far from the night market and the sunday market. Probably a 10 minute walk to both. A nice breakfast was also included with the cost of your hotel and not just coffee, muffins and juice. There were several entrees to choose from in addition to the muffins, juice and coffee. This hotel gets a 10+ in my book and I normally like to stay in big 4 to 5 star hotels. Also, there is free internet service.

Sawadee was absolutely helpful to me when I forgot to confirm my reservation at Tamarind. They did not give me any type of problems. Had I not screwed up, I would never have found the Manathai. Thank you Sawadee and keep up the good customer service.

perfect secluded boutique hotel, quiet but really in centre of things in Chiang Mai. The bath tub is old on purpose....Breakfast not really the best but good. They are obsessed by the laundry bag.if you go in the monsoon season, by mosquito coils to burn outside your door. small pool.the rooms in the building away from the pool are larger.

perfect

We were very well taken care of by the hospitable and pleasant staff of this nice and comfortable boutique resort. The bedroom is small but cosy, the only drawback is the rather old bathtub which has seen better days. Luckily, there s a rainshower provided although the temp of the water is rather hard to control. The manager, Soon, really took care of us and when I got sick, he arranged for a driver to send me to the hospital. On the whole, a very pleasant stay for us. Highly recommended!

Saweedee.com provides excellent service and there is no hiccup at all thru out the booking.
