The showers and tubs could use and upgrade but gets the job done. The breakfast was just ok...beware the moskitos!!!	Sawadee is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lester John Chin 2009-03-08	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani this hotel is nice and clean and modern. The staff seems under pressure all the time and it shows on their faces. We ate there once at the coffee shop and was disappointed. It is under par for quality and selection. Over all, stay there but eat some where else.

William Calcagni 2009-03-03	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani Avoid this place! I have visited Udon Thani several times but this was my first visit to the Ban Chiang Hotel. For 2 of our 3 days there was no hot water. Despite repeated requests nothing was done about it. The rooms are very dimly lit and need refurbishment. The Charoensri Grand is much better value for the money.	Sawadee is my preferred site for any travel bookings in Thailand. I have used them for the last 5 years and they are great.
Udo Fischer 2009-02-11	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani Nice hotel, friendly staff, breakfast ok, spacious and clean rooms. Room walls are poorly soundproofed. It is easy to follow the conversations in the neighbour room. Location is a bit outside of the centre. In general I can recommend the hotel. It was my second stay and I will definitely stay there again.

I also like it s location which is away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. You are surrounded by Thai culture yet afforded international accomodations.

BENEDICT GOH 2008-08-09 until 2008-08-12	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani Check in was easy as everything was already prepared in advance. Rooms were spacious enough and clean but the lihghtings were a bit too dim for my liking. What is lacking in the rooms are the absence of tid-bits and alcohol drinks in the fridge bearing in mind that alcoholic drinks cannot be bought at retail outlets after 12 mmidinight. Hotel ambience presentable but counter staff were unfriendly and sometimes bordering on the rude side as personally witnessed by me. Location is walking distance to the wet market and it would be interesting for foreigners to experience the lifestyle there. Overall, it is a nice hotel to saty in and I would stay there again on my next trip.	Fast and efficient. Makes me feel very well assured that everything will be fine when booking through this website.
David Keith Tuckley 2008-08-02 until 2008-08-04	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani After staying here two years ago with no complaints I swas totally disgusted with the changes in this hotel. I booked two rooms and in one of these two rooms only two of the three lights were working, there was a leak in the ceiling which left a damp patch on the floor and the room safe did not work. To add to all this we were asked to leave half way through our stay so that the hotel could accomodate guests from a conference taking place there with the offer of priority booking if we wanted to stay there when the conference ended! Luckily we founded a better hotel nearby with no help from the hotel staff at a much lower rate. Needless to stay Ban Chaing Hotel will be off my list of places to stay in Udon Thani	As always no problems at all

Lim Kim Hock 2008-05-30 until 2008-06-02	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani We like the hotel and had a pleasant stay. The location was ideal because I like to walk around the market in the morning. Too bad that because of our meetings out, we did not have much time to enjoy other facilities. The most memorable part of our stay is the opportunity to sing old favourites accompanied by the pianist at the sitting lounge.	Booking service was ok, though I was initially uncertain whether it was bonafide. So I only booked for 3 nights thinking that I could probably extend another 2 nights later. Finally, my companions decided to check into another cheaper apartment for those 2 nights when the hotel refuse to extend at the same rate.
Stephen Smith 2007-12-07 until 2007-12-11	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani Very poor one of the worst hotels I and my wife have stayed in. The first room they offered us was generally dirty, had dirty water coming from the taps and torn sheets on the bed. The second room was cleaner but not good, the bedding OK and water clean but for two days we had no hot water for a shower in the morning. Generally the staff were poor and did not even communicate well in Thai. Would never stay there again.	Booking service worked well with no problems thanks.
John Ship 2007-10-22 until 2007-10-26	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani This was not our first choice of hotel due to mixed reviews, but wewere offerred The Bang Chiang and took a chance. On reception he staff were friendly and attentive, our choice ofa non-smoking room was not available at short notice, due to a holiday weekend, but the allocated was fine and regularly sprayed with freshener so was fine. The breakfast range was, as previously reported, atad limited and cold, but the staff happily cooked fresh to order, you only had to ask. All in all, though it was not our first choice, we were totally satisfied with our stay, it was good value for money and we would stay agin.	Our first choice was not available, due to short notice and a holiday weekend, an alternative was quickly offerred and the booking process went smoothly.

Robert Kellert 2007-09-04 until 2007-09-07	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani This hotel appears very nice from the lobby and front desk although the woman at the front desk was bordering on rude and only one person had passable English. I know, it is my fault for not learning Thai before going. I would like to be able to say this hotel is simply old and tired and in need of some updating but that would be a lie. Nothing worked in the room. The lighting fixtures were broken, all of the buttons and controls in the bedside panel were smashed, clawed and non-functional. I could not control any of the broken lights or air conditioning. Fortunately the A/C did work and was stuck at a level perfect for my preference. For the most part the bathroom was serviceable although I thought I was going to lose it when I turned on the shower faucet and nothing but pure brown water came out. Not to worry, it clears up in a minute or two. The breakfast buffet is not very large nor are the choices varied much from day to day. I did notice the majority of people at breakfast are Thai. I have stayed at the Charoensri Grand Royal before and found it acceptable. European run lodges and rooms might be a better choice than the Ban Chiang.	Flawless. Everything handled quickly, expertly without any delay nor problems.
Mark Boucke 2007-08-18 until 2007-09-06	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani Fourth time at the Ban Chiang - this time for 18 nights in a junior suite @1300 baht p/n. Cold buffet breakfasts, tired-looking romms and a sleepy atmosphere.Apart from the pool, there is nothing really exceptional about this hotel and we will definately stay elsewhere next time. We looked at the Karin hotel which has recently been refurbished and it was around 450 baht p/n for a twin/double and 1050 baht for a 2-bedroom suite.Worth considering.	Very efficient as usual apart from the deluge of confirming e-mails. Pity the Karin hotel is not offerred by Sawadee.

Rooms - nothing special-but relevent to the price. Breakfast less than satisfactory. But in general- if you are in transit -I will stay there again.	Booking service really perfect. I have had to reserve the room just a day before. They have been in touch with me all the time- and finally found something in the last minute . If you compare with the competitors- definitely above the level
Michael nathan 2007-06-18 until 2007-06-22	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani The room was clean and the staff friendly, it is not in a central position which means being harrassed by tuk tuk drivers every time you leave the hotel. Like most large hotels it is mainly interested in business clients but overall it is a reasonable place to stay. The downside from me was i stayed 4 nights but were only given tickets for 1 free breakfast - charged 300 baht after that. They advertise as breakfast included.	No problem with bookings - have made several never had any problems.

Local transportation (songtaew) is passing by the hotel and the two parallel streets, no need for expensive taxi drivers. Look for pickup service from airport. Room clean and nice decorated.	fine service without any problems. did a very fast last minute booking others aren t willing to do.

Reasonably comfortable although the two bedrooms we stayed in during our time there were starting to look tatty and needed redecorating. Breakfast was just OK - nothing special & food not hot after 9am. Staff were quietly efficient and polite though the hotel had an air of sleepiness about it. 1050 THB rate through Sawadee.com was good - we stayed an extra night and were charged 1300 THB by the hotel. Not a bad hotel but I will try another one next time.	Fast, professional and efficient as usual. Very good service.

The room allocated to me was adjacent to some sort of boiler, which made a lot of noise; varying in decibel level between a truck going uphill and a jet plane taking off. Couldn’t get to sleep , so I asked for a room change ; which was granted. My second room was quiet until 3 AM in the morning, when I was woken up by a Farang and his girlfriend for the night, who occupied the room adjacent to mine. This lady started singing some song with the words “ IT’s MONDAY NIGHT at the top of her voice ( it wasn’t a Monday night, by the way) There was no end to this lady’s singing, so I didn’t get much sleep. To be honest, the farang and his lady friend only stayed for one night, so the following nights at this hotel were quieter and I wasn’t disturbed. Breakfast was very mediocre. Probably won’t stay at this hotel on a subsequent visit to Udon Thani	Excellent - my views regarding this service are becoming monotonous as I can think of only one word: EXCELLENT !

Having six coat hangers, may be fine, but where to store socks, underwear, t-shirts etc, except in own luggage. Very short sighted, but not untypical for Thai hotels.	I always use Sawadee.Com and continue to be very happy with their services.
Mr & Mrs T Hale 2005-11-18 until 2005-11-21	Ban Chiang Hotel, Udorn Thani Hotel O.K. Best gym in Udon ? Room & breakfast both adequate rather than great. Restaurant had some good dishes (Pad krapeow/Garlic & chilli prawns) & some poor ones (Pah Thai). Liked Udon; very easy to get about for a Thai city. Might even retire there one day soon.	Very good, very easy. Will definitely use service again.

Of the two, I would recommend the Ban Chiang. The staff is very friendly, the service was excellent, and my room was extremely comfortable. When I return to Udon, I will choose the Ban Chiang as my first choice of hotel.

The staff were unhelpful, the room was ill equiped (the lights didn t work - they never got fixed either)i booked for a month, payed up front (stupid in hindsight) the phone system for int. calls was terrible, they insisted i pay for calls i never made, the night staff was the most irritating man i have ever met - delibrately goading me into arguments. The manager never made an appearance the hear my complaints - the staff laughed at me for complaining in the first place. Not a five star service, i will be back to Udon Thani, excellent place.
