Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Not recommended at all. Room and bathroom not very clean - hygiene not a priority for this resort. Staff at restaurant very friendly, and hte food good. Staff at reception friendly however the manager has no authority. The manager need to be trained on how to handle visitors outside of Thaialnd as we do not accept. Very unprofessional not have straight answers. |
Excellent as always! Thank You. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach It is a nice resort and we enjoyed our stay very much! The private beach was beautiful and the gardens and the pool area were both nice. A couple of things to think about, though: - If you are staying in the deluxe area, be aware that for the same price to can get very different types of location of your accomodation. Separate bungalows and two room bungalows with a great location near the pool go for the same price and under the same deal as not so great rooms with views towards a brick wall. The standard inside is good in both cases, however. We were able to switch rooms when we got there, but if we go there again we ll try to be more specific about what we want. - There is a lot of construction going on, and you have to pass this area going from the deluxe area to White Sand. We didn t mind, but it might be good to know. - There is a short distance to walk from the deluxe area to White Sand - which is where all the restaurants (including the resort breakfast) are. The restaurant on the smaller beach was unfortunately not open when we were there. Likewise, if you live in the superior area there will be a short walk to reach the pool area. |
Efficient, quick and useful. Perhaps you could update some of your accommodation information regarding types of rooms etc. That information is not always in unison with hotels own webpages, so we often go there first to compare and double-check. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach 1.We stayed in the Superior Room 221. The size of room was small. We expected bigger for the price. Clean. 2. There was a lack of the personal touch for the room and by the reception staff. Only the restaurant staff were warm and friendly.Food was good. 3. The bathroom was big but the shower area so tiny. The shower curtain had fungus on it and though I asked for it to be changed repeatedly it was not changed. The drain in the shower area was not clean and unpleasant looking. I think it needed to be tiled properly. The rest of the bathroom had a blue paint on the floor. It would feel better if the floor was tiled with stone/tile. For the price we paid I would expect better facilities. The pictures show a swanky place. There was only one towel rod in the bathroom. Nothing for swimming costumes to hang dry. 3. The room was located behind the kitchen and the view was only out of the front window. In a beach place I would expect windows on both sides and a better ventilation in the room. The landscaping around the rooms was basic. 3. From what I could tell the deluxe rooms were much better and the landscaping around it were better too. 4. The beach in front of the hotel was nice and clean. Hotel is located in the better part of this beach. (quieter too) 5. The hotel has engaged Jimmy tours for excursions around Koh Samet. We booked with them to go out but last min they canceled saying they did not have enough people to go. (min 12) But we were not told ahead of time that once they sign and give me a slip of the same, they could cancel. Disappointing.. and not professional behavior. Hope this helps .. |
Efficient and fine. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We had such a great break for the weekend. The hotel is definitely worth the money, excellent location, absolutely clean, breakfast was good, staffs are very friendly and helpful, the transfer service to island is efficiency. Will recommend this resort to family and friends. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach This is my 4th visit to this resort, although expensive & basic rooms, the resort is great! right on saikaew beach where most activities are focused, great restaurants & beach bars right on your doorstep, coming back at christmas |
excellent service - thank you |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach I expected more from the hotel. The room is ok, the breakfast is poor and the food isn t very good. The pool was out of order (weekend) and, if you are looking for an isolated beach, definitely there isn t the place. |
Thank you for reply immediately. good service. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We stayed in a de lux cottage . The cottage was fresh and clean but need more space to keep wet towels and swimsuits as the porch outside was right under a bird tree - dirty furniture. The pool area need to be cleaned up more often. Nice friendly staff. |
Everything worked ok! |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Nice place and good for a family leisure outing. Good food and good hygiene. Rooms were nice but the natural shower was a disappointment. When we visited in Sep 08 only one restuarant was operational but we were told that second restaurant would be operational soon Rates slighlty on the higher side but still good value for money. Add some facilities for kids like a slide in the pool , some swings etc that wud be nice. Would come again next year.. |
Fast and Efficient as always. I had to change teh dates of my holiday after confirmation and Credit Card payment but Sawadee was flexible to accomodate my request. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We stayed 8 nights and had a very pleasant stay (2 adults and 4 children)! Nice rooms, great beach and very friendly staff! The restaurant was good, although a bit expensive. If we go to Koh Samed again we would surely stay at Saikaew Beach Resort. |
All went very smooth, great service! |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Good location on two beaches - one the main, very sandy one; the other rocky but good for snorkelling. The resort looks better in real life than it does on the website. It is a bit expensive for Thailand, but then it *is* on an island and *is* priced for foreigners - but cheap by comparison with our own countries. Friendly and helpful staff, fabulous breakfast, great restaurants within a few minutes walk along the beach. Would stay again. |
Very prompt and efficient. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Overall we had a lovely holiday but this was more to do with our independent spirit then a particular effort from the resort. The location of the resort is great, it is at the top right of the island close to most amenities (ATM etc) and so you can choose to move around the island as little or as much as you like. I was actually a little disappointed by the resort itself though. The staff were disinterested and not particularly friendly - trying to get information about the local area, transport back to Bangkok and even information on dining at one of the restaurants in any of their other restorts on the island was futile and frustrating. The resort has a complimentary boat service to and from the mainland but they might want to work on the customer service a little with respect to the taxi from the boat to the resort...you happily tumble from the boat to the waiting taxi with all the other guest but what they dont mention is that the taxi isnt complimentary so you have this awkard situation when you arrive at the hotel and you are immediately asked to hand over some cash (we couldnt even put it on the room). Its not much of course but i would suggest that the resort might want to think about absorbing that cost into the price of the room rather than this awkward moment which ruined what was 2 minutes previously a magic start to our holiday. The accomodation itself was really pleasant - we had a deluxe Bungalow - and apart from one evening when the deluxe area was mysteriously taken over by a private party involving Thai karaoke - really tranquil. Beware of the refurbishment works which are going on at the moment tho. I had found out before booking that there was some work going on at the resort while we were there so i was prepared but its a bit of a shock when you arrive because the work area is located right next to reception and anyone staying in the deluxe area walks right past it on the way to the restaurant and main beach. In terms of noise you hardly hear anything but by the looks of it it will take at least another couple of months for them to finish the work off so beware if you are booking from now until October/Nov. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach I m Thai staying at Saikaew Beach resort. My deluxe room near the pool and the private beach is very private and properly&fully decorated. All functions in room are well managed. The staffs were nice and tried to help as much as they could as the rooms are fully booked at the weekend. Our group is very impressed with this resort service and will surely return again soon. |
The service is quick and the staff is helpful. Comparing with others, I think, this web is more reliable. |
| Debora Din 2008-08-24 |
Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We stayed in the deluxe cottages which are quaint and lovely. The cottages themselves are set further back from the Sai Kaew beach than the standard rooms but the surrounds are quite nice: close to the resort pool, manicured lawns, palm trees. The resort was in the process of building 60 more rooms and a new pool when we went so there was construction going on but we never heard any of this from our cottage. |
Sawadee.com is provides notable savings when compared to booking directly from the hotel. The booking service is reliable, consistent, and trustworthy. Have, do, and would recommended this service. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We had the family suite and it was just as we expected - very bright, nice and big. Fantastic service - our sons little puppy dog dissapered with the laundry. Two days later he was found and our son was able to sleep well again. |
It worked fine. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Do not expect too much, you just get what you can expect for that price. Rooms are very simple, but at least clean. Breakfast is very good. Swimming Pool is quite small and no sun beds, neither at the pool nor on the beach. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach The newer superior rooms are furnished to the same high standard as the deluxe cottages, though a little smaller. The resort is still one of the best on this part of Samet. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Great location, our room was right on the beach. Overall, fairly clean. The bathroom had some ants and could have been a little cleaner but that was taken care of. Room was a bit small but a good deal for the price. Beautiful beach front. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Hotel is really nice and has a good location but you should check in for the deluxe rooms. They are really nice and have a good view. Facility is so nice but can t tell the same about the room service and the restaurant. Room service is not working after 10pm and if you need anything you can t get it. Restaurant personnel is so kind but not taking care of customers sometimes because taking care of empty tables while you are sitting there and waiting for service. So weird really. You should call them to order something. Breakfast is average and till 10:00 am but there was a chart in the front of the restaurant and it was written there breakfast ends at 10:30. I was really so confused in the beginning coz we were going for the breakfast at 10:15 regarding to the chart and can t find anything to eat sometimes. But it was not a problem because I can get my breakfast anyway :) By the way, Rim talay restaurant is so expensive if you do a comparison with the other facilities restaurants. You can try to eat the restaurants at the other beaches. Obviously, I have to say that you can get bored after 1 week if you are used to go out at nights for pubs and clubs. In conclusion, hotel is really nice but need some policy changes with the service policy. I also want to say someting with the Samet Island. Island is really nice and quiet. You can rest very well. Not much noise makers around. Most of the restaurants are cheap really. And you should rent a motorbike or ATV for the transportation. Motorbikes are so cheap, ATV s are expensive bur safer. Because island s roads are in very bad condition to use a motorbike, especially after the rain. There are few pharmacies and a small clinic but not enough for the population of the island and providing very limited service. Take care of yourself and try to not to get sick. Moreover, beware the mosquitos when you go out at nights. If you are looking for a place which is romantic and exotic, Samet Island is the exact place. I hope this comment will be helpful for the travellers think about to go to Samet. |
I did my booking over internet before 1 day I flied to Thailand and they really did a great job. Everything happened in the same day. Very quick response.
Thanks for your help for this great adventure.
Best Regards |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We stayed in the deluxe cottage rooms, close to the pool. These rooms are much nicer then the ones facing the main beach. They were very nice and clean and they were cleaned twice a day, which was a great service. The rate was indeed very good - there was a renovation discount, but we were not at all disturbed by the ongoing building works. Staff were very friendly and helpful to carry our loads of bags and also to give us lifts with their golf carts. The bereakfast was very good. To go here in the low season is a bargain!! |
We have used Sawasdee many times and always been happy with the service. This time we were a little worried about the availability of adjoining rooms, so we had a discussion with Sawasdee and the hotel about this. Sawasdee helped us to clarify things and we got exactly what we anted. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We had a very nice Cottage de luxe at the other side not at the beach and with big stones not useful for swimming .The white sand beach is wonderful (a long way to walk) and we enjoyed a lot of.The breakfast was good .The organisation with the ship was perfect. We will return sure. |
Best comment -everything was perfect and they answerd about my questions . |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Overall we are satisfied about the location and accommodation. But at first we were not happy, as the deluxe cottage is basic only, nothing deluxe (apart from the swing on the porch :)). We changed our cottage to a (requested) sea/beach view cottage, but that beach proved dangerous to swim in, because of rocks and black sea urchins. I was the only stupid farang to try to swim there, but came out quick with bruises and small wounds!!! Saikaew appeared to have another beach with white sand (only on 5 minutes walk or even quicker by golf-car), that proved to be nice. The water was not always clean however. But it was low season, the beach relatively quiet, the weather good, ....so no more complaints. Personel at the resort was extremely service-minded and kind, showing the Thai-smile a lot. Breakfast was extremely good. I would not really advise to eat there for lunch or dinner, because the warm food was not special. Koh Samed has several nice beaches and on Ao Wai I found even a nice snorkling beach to sea both colourful fish and coral. For the rest the island has a lot of irritating pollution from tourist and locals. I never before saw such a lot of dirt and litter lying around in nature. And nobody cared!! Garbage bins are nowwhere to be found. It is really ashame how nature is ruiined by men. The Thai authority should do something about that. Also the number of motorcycles is irritating and polluting. We hope to come back when when the island is cleaned up and improved it s basic infrastructure. But we also hope the accommadations stay small and tourism will not become a negative symptom. |
As usual excellent service. It could not be better and we ll surely hope to book again through sawadee.com. Thank you |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Spent a weekend with my wife and little daughter and we had a good time. I thought that I had booked a bungalow on the beach, which was not the case, but the bungalow was nice, the staff very very friendly. The beach and the sea were not as clean as one would expect, with plastic bottles, condom packets floating around. In one small beach attached to the resort, it was full of broken beer bottles, not the best for the feet of my daughter! Food was very okay. Overall, I would recommend the place. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach We stayed in a Deluxe Cottage, which was very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Good location, but the deluxe cottages are too far from the beach. The beach front room was quite small but comfortable. It needed some fresh paint and trimming of the plants in front which blocked the beach view. The breakfast was excellent as was the service at the Rimtalay restaurant. |
Excellent! I will definitely use again. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Stayed in a beachfront room and was impressed. Staff were incredibly friendly. The room was simple but clean, with one of the nicer bathrooms I ve seen on Ko Samet s Saikaew beach. Saikaew beach is the place to stay if you want a fun nightlife -- the whole beach is lit up with lanterns and the atmosphere is fantastic. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Hotel is really nice for the price that I paid (2450b for beach front) and the construction doesn t bother most of the rooms at all. Beware the Pattaya travel agencies that won t sell the discounted prices. Don t also do the mistake and go to new Lanna Pizzeria, it is not ready yet and pizza looks taken from freezer. |
No problems. |

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach This is a really big place. Nice rooms, and restaurant on right on perhaps the largest and possibly prettiest beach on Ko Samet. Pretty expensive, compared to some of the others places on this beach. |
Outstanding. The best thailand website for hotel booking. |
| Emma& Sam 2008-03-21 until 2008-03-26 |
Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach Breakfast is very good and the location of the hotel is also good, very close to the beach and enough quite at night and daytime, as compared to the rest of the island. The hotel rates are however, too pricey for what the hotel offers. The room is not worth the money we paid. In Koh Samui we had a much better room for the same price. However, this hotel seems to be the best choice on the island if you opt for comfort and nearness to the beach. Bed sheets were changed daily and the room was clean except for the floor which should be improved. We booked everything through Sawadee and we will do it again in the future as rates are much better than if you go directly to the hotel. Thank you Sawadee!!!:) One time in Koh Samet is however enough for us. The island is small and there are not so many attractions like in Koh Samui. Next time we are definitely going somewhere else. We are thinking about Puket or Krabi. We will see. Anyway, thank you for everything. |
Thank you Sawadee.:)
We will definitely contact you again next year when we go back to Thailand.

Saikaew Beach Resort, Koh Samet, Saikaew Beach This resort is the best one on the Saikaew beach! And the only one with a pool on this beach! We stayed in a two bedroom family suite which was beautifully situated by the small private beach that belonged to the resort. The suite was very nicely furnished and clean. A minus was that they didn t have a safety box and that it was an overprice considering thaiprices in general. If you want to stay at this beach on Koh Samet this is the best place! But, it is definitly not the best beach for sunbathing, it was trashy and very crowded (my opinion), the kids aged 9 and 11 did enjoy the water scooter and all activity though. At night the beach had some good places to eat at, and it was close to the center . |
Worked fine! |
