Miss A L Sherman 2009-06-02	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai This hotel is just fabulous with a view and river location to die for. It s set about 15 minutes drive outside of Kachanaburi town, so you have to take that into account when booking, but it is worth every second of the drive. The hotel rooms are quite basic but lovely, although we were slightly dissapointed with the bathroom - our shower didn t work properly during one of the evenings - and the bathroom itself was more basic then we d have hoped. Having said that, it really didn t matter and we loved the room. The service in the hotel and hotel restaurant is exceptional although we were less impressed with the food - we did stay out of season, so some of the food wasn t available, but our food wasn t as nice as restaurants outside of the hotel and it was obviously more expensive. We would definitely come back to this hotel but perhaps in high season when there are a few more people around to give it more of an atmosphere.	The booking service was just fantastic - we booked about 3 hotels through Sawadee.com and had no problems at all and the correspondence was really quick and helpful. Would definitely book with Sawadee.com again.
Jeanette Godden 2009-04-26	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is lovely, very quiet. We stayed here at the end of April, so we were the only people in the pool at times. Very nice would def go back. Mr Lec the taxi driver was fab too.	Excellent, easy to do, and all enquiries were dealt with efficiently.
Jeanette Godden 2009-04-26	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai Fabulous hotel, thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We paid extra to have a river view suite,well worth the money!! Lovely people. The food not that great, but restaurant on river Kwai is lovely, however the floating restaurant is awful for food so do not eat there.	excellent, easy!
Wetzel 2009-03-19	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai Hmmmm...first...the hotel is off the beaten track. Second....that doesn t matter, if you use it for one or two nights. Breakfast is not bad, prices in restaurant are okay and the food tasted good. There where daily-seminars with many asian people, but not noisy. In the evening there where more european/asian guests, but also not noisy. We used the clean pool and the deckchairs all alone...only in the evening, when the other guests arrived at the hotel, maybe two or three persons where in the pool.... The rooms are ok and clean, the bed cosy. The balcony is nice, with a secluded spot to sit on.... The bathroom is the only one, we have to criticise, because the wash-hand basin is incorrect mounted, and if you use it, you can also wash your feet at the same time, and we think, that the guest in the bathroom under ours could wash their hair with our water.... The garden is nice and the property is big enough, to take a walk on it...there are some holiday homes...very nice... The staff was very friendly and the chambermaids very complaisant if we needed something. We can recommend the hotel if you will have one or two quiet and lazy days, but there is almost nothing around. On the backside is the river and accross the street is a little shop, where you can buy beverages and food if you need.......	Easy to use, but sometimes I needed a dictionary.
Yvonne Vo 2009-02-26	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai Overall, our stay at Royal Riverkwai was nice. The hotel is not in the centre of town but it was fun as we got to rent a scooter and make our own way around. Taxis are hard to come by in Kanchanaburi so I highly reccommend a scooter. The room itself was nice. The bathroom however leaked. They provided a tv channel with just movies streamed from a computer. Buffet breakfast was provided and there was plenty of nice food. You had a choice of Asian and Western breakfasts. Staff were nice, although it pays to learn a bit of Thai whilst you re here. Make your bookings for tours whilst your here, Royal Rivwer Kwia is more then happy to help you. You even save yourself some bahts! Try not to book tours from Westerners as Thais are normally exploited in these businesses.	I booked online and it was a simple process.
Markmann 2009-02-02	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai It is a nice alternativ to the big caos in Bangkok. The hotel is a beautiful place to relax, with a nice pool and the possibility to have dinner directly on the river kwai. It is about 8 km away from the city center, so a very calm place for relaxing, but not for those, who want to walk to the city by foot. Staff is courteous and rooms are clean.	Easy to book, confirmation about reservation within 24 hours.
Jochen Wagner 2009-01-20	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai Very nice hotel in front of the river! Rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast buffet is very good. Dinner is good as well. Staff is very friendly.	No problems. Will book again.
Robert Norman 2009-01-03	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai nice resort, but very over priced, as was the food and spa packages! It is also quite a way out of the main town so it will cost you 200THB each way in a taxi. next time I go back to the Kanchanaburi region I wouldn t stay here.	very good
William Bluhme 2009-01-02	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai The staff were excellent, kind and helpsome. The hotel were nice, with a beautiful garden down to River Kwai. It was no problem to take a taxi or a songthaew from/to Kanchanaburi. We paid both 60 bath and 200 bath for the trip to the hotel..	We found it very easy to use Sawadee, and it works without any problems.
Jad Thomas Bajjali 2008-11-14	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai This hotel was pleasant and reasonably well maintained. Quiet and peaceful location. However, isolated and well out of the main town area. You will need to allow about 15 minutes travel time (and about $10) to commute if you dont want to eat in the hotel. Not for the party-harders!	Booking service was efficient and worked well. Only complaint was the indication of the hotel location was inaccurate.

Hotel really far away from the Kanchanaburi City- and Tuk-tuk taxi costs no less than 100 THB. Rooms just acceptable as the buffet brekfast. Wonderful garden, or better, park, and friendly staff. Take the tour to the Erawan falls if the pool water feels to warm.	Fast and reliable!

N.Ashri 2007-12-29 until 2007-12-30	Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai In general our stay at Royal Riverkwai was ok. The location on the river was very nice, you could walk along the river. The restaurant right near the river was also nice. Swimmingpool very cold. The breakfast was very basic, a lot of ants everywhere, found a hair in the fried rice. Mainly Thai food. The rooms are simple, but ok. Bathroom small and very basic.	Excellent service, no problem at all.

Staff was not friendly and it seems that everything was to much trouble for them. Besides that, a taxi downtown(20 minute drive and 20 minutes waiting for this taxi) will cost you 200 BHT. The same price we paid to get there from bangkok. So if you want to have a nice time in kanchanaburi, dont go here!	Booking service was excellent

Free babycut. The rooms wasn t far from the river and the restaurant is recommended. We didn t went to the city to eat. For tour recommandation: use Kanchanaburi Travel Center, tel: 0871534147 (Ann) - a bit cheaper, but good a/c cars, friendly and well speaking guides, good driver, nice lunch.	Easy - an no problems

Pitty we were almost the only ones there, so it felt a bit odd, and was not much to do on the evening. Taxi to town is 200 BHT. But staff extremely freindly, although not very good in Enlgish. But we still enjoyed our stay a lot.	great!

Mr.David Edwards 2006-01-08 until 2006-01-12	Royal Riverkwai Resort, Kwai Yai Exceeded our expectations. Peaceful location on the River Kwai, away from the bussle of Kanchanaburi - approx 15 mins by taxi (max 200baht) from the backpackers area where most of the action/restaurants/bars are. Zen design elements give the whole place a relaxed stylish atmosphere. Smiley staff are a delight. We payed the extra for a suite - which directly overlooked the river - included a front and side balcony and a large bathroom (wet room) with a good open shower. Beautiful fresh flowers complemented the decor and were replaced during our stay. The hotel caters for conferences, so there is a mixture of guests, which, if you don t want to be surrounded by western travellers/tourists is an added bonus. All in all a very pleasant stay which offered amazing value.	Very efficient and it was easy to alter our booking details with no fuss.

Hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was nice (usual buffet style) but little bit disappointed with the evening meal in the restaurant.	No problems

Disappointed about the food; for instance we got pancakes and french toast that was raw in the middle.	Wery good!

The feel of the whole place is pleasant and tranquil.. zen like. It is extremely good value. I highly recommend this hotel.	Very efficient

Some finishing touches being done to this new hotel, but not too distracting. A limited menu being the main negative point.	Efficient, helpful and informative. No problems, would use again.

However as it is a place often used by companies for bigger events it can get quite noisy during the nights if such an event is happening. Furthermore the quality of the resort might suffer over time by the extensive use of the facilities by these companys groups. As a lot of Thai groups stay there the breakfast has a big orientation towards Asian breakfast - not everyone s style. There was sometimes an issue with staff members not speaking English very well.	Everything went fine.
Lee Huan Siak 2004-06-06 until 2004-06-07	Royal Riverkwai Resort, Kwai Yai Great place. It is by the lake and so is the pool. Though half of it is still under construction, the half I stayed in was wonderful enough. The room is decorated in the Zen style, really loved it. Only problem was getting someone to drive you from the bus terminal from town. Got a transport from hotel river kwai at 200B there. Booking the local tours is more expensive at the hotel compared to town or calling them direct.	efficent and fast
