River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Very disapointed! The situation of the hotel is fantastic, the hotel itself is very beautiful, but the second manager was the black point of our holidays: unpolite, unhelpfull, the dinner of New Year s Eve served in 10 minutes, the second manager was drinking whisky with his friends at the bar... We had a problem at the end of the stay and asked him to contact the company of the hotel, he s just refused. We spent time in different hotels in Bangkok, Ayutayah...In the River Kwai hotel, we were wondering where was the legendary thai warm welcoming, not here, that s sure. This hotel was just a big scandal! |
no problem, quick, pleasant and helpfull |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke A fantastic experience,a complete chill out, away from all the hustle and bustle. Food o.k, not fantastic but the ambience and friendly staff made up for it. Good value for money. |
A very efficient service |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke What an incredible experience. This was our second visit to the Jungle Rafts and again we weren\ t disappointed. The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The food is all Thai and delicious and the service is outstanding. There is nothing better than no TV\ s, radios or even lights. Lanterns and candles are the only source of light at night time. The setting is just spectacular being surrounded by jungle and there are a number of fun activities around. Everything from walks to elephant back riding to the Mon Village show that they put on after dinner. All in all, its a wonderful break and highly recommended. Wouldn\ t take kids younger than 10 there though !!!! |
Booked on an alternate site. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Superb establishment that provides a truly wonderful experience. Tranquil and peaceful setting, good standard of rooms, and very attentive service from the team running the show. The food was excellent too, but be warned that you sit down to eat with all of the other guests in a school dinners type fashion. One caution, and sadly an experience that left a bad taste in our mouths somewhat sullying the overall experience..... When I booked via Sawadee.com I requested a pickup and paid 150Bht per person for my girlfriend and I; this included car from the Nam Tok Train station to the Resotel Pier, and Longboat from the Pier to the Rafts. When we were checking out of the Jungle Rafts we were very surprised to be asked for 900Bht for the Return Longtail journey. I explained that we had paid upfront for the inbound journey - which took some convincing even with eMail print outs - and we eventually had to pay 500Bht for our return Longtaill journey, followed by a further 500Bht to get from the Pier back to the Train Station. To hide these costs until the moment you are about to leave, when you have no other choice, felt a little dishonest , and somewhat mercenary. Work it out for yourselves: - 300Bht Car and Boat from Sawadee for Inbound journey - 900Bht Boat and Car from River Kwai Jungle Rafts |
Excellent as always |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings. Staff were great and the food was pretty good. but if you want all mod cons -forget it. There is no electricity so no lights, fans, air conditioning,or hot water. But the ambience made up for all that. We loved it. |
Prompt and efficient. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Great experience! No phone, no electricity but a lot of fun swimming in the river Kwai in front of an impressive scenery. |
Perfect! |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke My family and I (Wife and 3 kids) did the two day one night tour which was a great experince and was a pleasant change to Bangkok. Unfortunely whilst swimming in the river I dislocated my shoulder. I can not thank the staff enough nor speak more highly of them for their care of my family and the manager Mr B for has care of me. Would will definately stay here again. |
The booking service was fantastic and hassle free. I would certainly use sawadee.com again in the future. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Undoubtedly the most memorable of our Thailand-trip. Our second time at a raft-hotel in this area, but we will come again. No AC or hot water, in the middle of the jungle with its nice sounds and atmosphere. Nice food and perfect for combining excursions during the days and relaxing in the afternoon. Our children (6 & 9) loved the elephant ride and the swimming in the river. Our guide Boon was just great, and was very nice to our children too. We stayed 3 days/2 nights, but had both nights at the raft which we would do again as this allowed more peace and less moving around. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke A really different environment which certainly met our expectations. Staff and all services were great. |
No problems - and actually the first time we had booked an overseas service such as this. Very impressed with the follow up and service |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Great place! We loved the boat trip to the flotel . Very quiet in the night and a magic place to stay. Food was excellent and service too. I would certainly recommend this place! |
Excellent service. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke This was an experience that exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere was incredible and our guide very knowledgable - not once did we feel he was rushing us to get to the next bit and he was able to answer any questions informatively and in very good English. I would recommend this venue to any one and would use it again myself in the future. |
Outstanding! We were reassured that our booking was procesed and further informed at every step of the way. We were picked up on time and delivered back to our hotel (different from our pickup) with a minimum of fuss and very quickly in spite of arriving in Bangkok in the early evening |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Me and frens felt this place is unique nevertheless close to natural after run through web sites. But it is even more excited when we step in into River Kwai Jung Rafts. It is a wooden house that float on river with river in the front and short beach at the back. It was a great when i saw hammock, straight away i sat on it as i harly play with this since my childhood. You can just sit down and enjoy the natural beauty of rive kwai, the peace and rather cool wheather there. You can even jump into river and let the water current flow you to the end of the resort. The water is darn cool and it was really fun! I missed the experience in River Kwai Jungle Rafts when back to my home. |
Secure and fast! |
| Paula Munro 2008-06-25 until 2008-06-27 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Very peaceful with accommodating staff. We stayed two nights and would have liked to have stayed longer but as the extra night was not part of a package, proved to be much too expensive. The lamplight assured early nights as it was too dark to read. The bar however, remained open until quite late. Beware of overpriced optional tours. Face massage was to die for!! Excellent food included in the price. A very enjoyable experience and would recommend this to everyone of all ages, accept toddlers who could easily fall into the river. |
Very efficient. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke A peaceful retreat much cleanier and more beautiful Bankok. In the middle of no where very nice for a 1-2 night stay after Bankok. No AC or hot water but we didn t even notice there is so much fun stuff to do. It is in a BEAUTIFUL location. You arrive on longtail boat so pack light you don t need much at all. I would for sure stay here again. |
Great as always :) |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Hotel was fantastic exactly as we expected, relaxing, and beautiful. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience true Thailand. |
We booked everything on line, it was easy and they are very efficient. Ammendments to standard trips were easy to arrange. I would recommend to others and certainly use them again. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke We had a very pleasant stay at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts. This is really something else. Without electricity it is very romantic. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke This place is great fun and as such our second time. The rooms are comfortable considering we are on a raft; waking up to the bathing elephants is a novelty; the food they serve is great; nice place to meet other travelers and have a drink together; the trips are great fun and informative Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun trip/stay. |
Excellent and easy |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke We booked the 2 days / 1 night tour and all I can say is that it was a wonderfull experience. The tour was well organised, friendly guides and the River Kwai Jungle Rafts are superb for a short stay. Very quiet, clean rooms, stunning scenery. Conclusion of this all is that it s absolutely great value for the money paid. |
As I used Sawadee.com already for 5 years, all I can say is: keep up doing the great work !! |
| TENG YEA YUSN 2008-03-28 until 2008-03-29 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke we like the room and the environment. would recommend the 2days1night package. they only provide 2 small drinking water on arrival. so bring in your own drinking water would be good. or else you can purchase at the hotel bar which is slightly expensive than the town price. the guide of the hotel is friendly and nice. but the one who pick us up from the hotel in a van is no courteous at all. not even greet us or explaining where are we going. and we later find out that they are transferring us to another bus which has another great tour guide. |
no problem. they will contact you on the day before your visit date. if they cant reach you, they will leave a message at your hotel telling you the pick up time and contact detail if you have futher question. |
| Ronald Hinshaw 2008-03-20 until 2008-03-22 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke This was a great eixperence! the staff were terrific and the accomodftion was exactly what we wee looking for - a real non-traditional hotel experience. We enjoyed the whole experience from the guided adventue tours to the food and my son especially liked waking up in the morning and jumping in the river for a float down stream. Feeding the elephants from the raft after breakfast was also a highlight. Highly recommended. |
Booking was very easy on line and finding the place to catch the boat was easier than I had expected. |
| Anita Walker 2008-02-28 until 2008-02-29 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Fantastic experience for our family of five. The children loved the place and facilities were great. We only had one night there so were unable to book room and half board WITH transfers. It was a little confusing for us to get ourselves there with no instructions. Please put the details on the web page. We took the train to Nam Tok then taxi to resotel pier (300bht), from there we took a long tail boat to the rafts and paid for the boat at the rafts. There are plenty of taxis at the train station and at the pier so dont let the hotel arrange your taxi from the pier back to Nam Tok they change 500bht. |
straight forward. |
| Nicole Albert 2008-01-02 until 2008-01-04 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke The Jungle Rafts were excellent, and one of the most memorable stays in out trip around Thailand. We took the three day package that incorporated a final night at the Resotel, which unfortunately was not a good finish to an otherwise excellent tour. Our recommendation is to stick to the two day tour, particularly if you like Thai food, as that served at the Resotel is very bland, european toned stuff. The trip back to Bangkok also took over 5 hours, with only one stop along the way. |
We booked virtually our whole trip around Thailand via Sawadee, and the system and the support staff have been excellent throughout. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke An incredible experience!! Wonderful food, fantastic itinery and gorgeous setting! A unique experience of sleeping on a river and relaxing in paradise. Anyone who is interested in going - go for it, you wont be disapointed! And if you go ask for the tour guide named Ay , he is fantastic! |
I booked all the way from South Africa and everything went smoothly and efficiently. I would definately book through sawadee.com again. |
| Chris Engellenenr 2007-10-18 until 2007-10-20 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke It was a great experience staying at the Jungle Rafts and so peaceful... the accommodation is basic but is made up by the scenery and the staff who are so obliging and friendly. To stay at the rafts you have to be prepared for no electricity and only basic bathroom facilities but it is a great experience for a couple of days. Swimming in the river was a highlight just drifting with the flow and taking in the sights. The 6 of us had a great time. |
Sawadee booking sevice was exceptional with no hassles and the guide who looked after us was great..I would recommend sawadee favourably as a tour organiser. Thanks for your great communication and reputable service. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke A nice break from busy Bangkok. We enjoyed the simple, relaxing atmosphere, lovely ambience at night with the lamps, food was good, prepared daily. Very kind friendly and helpful staff. The houses are simple, no electricity but only oil lamps (very romantic), only cold water. A veranda with shared hammock, table and deckchairs. |
very smooth and very quick |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Very romantic wouden houses (by 2 or 4) drifting on the river in the middle of the jungle. You can only reach the hotel by a longtailboat, so no noice of trafic only the sound of the river and some boats. The houses are simple, no electricity but only oil lamps (very romantic), only cold water. A veranda with shared hammock, table and deckchairs. Swimming in the river is great fun! The staff is very kind and helpfull. Restaurant is nice as well. Also possible to book daytrips. |
no problems |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke The Jungle Rafts are absolutely charming. This was my second visit as well as second time bringing newcomers to Thailand there. They are so well organized. You are able to see all the pertinent historical sights. The stay is comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended. A must! |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke We spent one night at the Jungle Rafts with 2 children (6 and 8). We booked 2 rooms but 1 room had been enough (1 single bed and 1 double bed (the double one fits 2 children and an adult). The children enjoyed floating in the river with the life jackets provided by the hotel. A 5 minute walk leads to a tribal village where we had a little elephant walk. At night the elefants from the village came bathing in the river next to the rafts and the children got to feed them with the fruit leftovers from dinner We left Bangkok for Kanchanaburi in the morning, there we took the train to Nam Tok. In Nam Tok a taxi (Pick-up truck) drove us to the Resotel Pier (15 minute drive / 300 Baht) We booked a boat transfert from the Resotel pier in advance and there was a little confusion because the person with the boat did not speak or could not read English so he did not understand that we did not have to pay and could not read the reservation form either. We combined the stay at the rafts with a trip to the Erawan waterfalls before going back to Kanchanaburi and Bangkok the next day. At the rafts they arranged a taxi to Erawan where we had a nice swim in the waterfalls. The taxi driver waited for us to take us further to the busstation in Kanchanaburi where we took the bus to Bangkok. 2 perfect days, so much nature and wildlife at only a few hours from Bangkok ! The only minor thing were the many wasps during breakfast. |
Nice booking service. Since we booked through internet and since it was the first time we got to Thailand, I did not really know what to expect, but everything worked out perfectly. Thanks ! |
| Margaret Carroll 2007-06-27 until 2007-06-29 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Stayed on the Jungle Rafts with the 2day 3 night package. Rafts were the best thing that we did in Thailand They are spotless even though there is no electricity. Service is fantastic and meals were unbelievable given that there is no electricity for cooking. Everything was organised to perfection the guides were friendly and it was a very family like atmosphere, most staff knew our names and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The river rafts were the highlight of our trip. The kids were looked after beautifully and loved everything about the rafts including the cave and waterfall trips. To wake up with elephants bathing outside your door is a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend the rafts to anyone particularly families looking for something a little different to the resort thing. |
Was a little frightened booking over the internet but there were no problems, everything was organised to perfection. Would not hesitate to recommend sawadee.com to anyone. |
| Nora H. 2007-04-29 until 2007-05-02 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke The whole concept of the rafts was a unique experience. We actually booked an extra night/free day in addition to a 3D/2N tour in which we could do whatever we wanted to and just relax. The atmosphere was great barring a few unruly tourists. The male staff were a bit brash but we had an excellent guide assigned to us (ask for Blai if you re planning this trip). We thought it was going to be difficult to sleep at night due to the rafts not having any electricity but it was surprisingly pleasant and chilly too. Lots of optional tours to keep you busy if you get bored although everything else apart from your tour is extra $$. All in all, really good fun! |
Booking was made for 3 people but when we were ready for pickup, it was listed as only 2 by the people that picked us up as well as when we arrived at the rafts. Despite that, since i had my confirmation slip, there was no real issue and everything else went as planned. |
| Greg White 2007-04-29 until 2007-05-01 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Unusual, unique and truly memorable setting. We enjoyed the jungle experience and found our stay very comfortable. The food was exquisite and the personal attention received by the staff made us feel welcome. A true Thai experience not to be missed. |
The communication was difficult as I was unadle to get a quote for a three sleeper room. (three adults sharing) Otherwise the booking went smoothly. |
| Mr David Gildeh 2007-04-21 until 2007-04-22 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke This place is excellent! The staff were great, keeping dinner hot for us even though we arrived several hours late (the map is misleading, this place is a mission to get to from Kanchunaburi! You also need money for taxi from Nam Tok and 700B for boat) but the hotel was very helpful over the phone, even talking to a local who had to give us a life to the pier to get the boat as there were no taxis by the time we got there! Once you make it there, you re in the middle of a jungle on a floating hotel, very romantic for couples, no electricity just lanterns everywhere, and the village on the shore is very nice. Would definately recomend this place to anyone willing to make the journey! |
Good service, booked everything last minute. |
| Dresser 2007-03-17 until 2007-03-20 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Pleasantly different! See for yourself. Take plenty of Bahts. They don t accept credit cards and there s nowhere to exchange currency. Also take a torch, although they do sell mini ones at the bar. |
Very efficient. |
| Kumpulainen Tuija 2007-03-01 until 2007-03-02 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke We never used our reservation, because we didn t read the information about the place properly. The info says, that transportation is from Resotel Pier at 14.00. We had not realized (it doesn t come up in the info easily), that the pier was 70 km off Kanchanaburi, ie. 2-hour bus journey. That is no problem, if you are moving with a group and a bus, but for individual tourists that would have made our itineraries impossible. |
Excellent |
| Marin 2007-02-26 until 2007-02-27 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke It was a very good experience. The staff is very nice, and the rooms confortale, even without electricity. It is a lovely place to stay one or two days and the tour is interesting.I recomend it. |
Very well organised. On time |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke The first day of the NC302 is very boring, but the rest of 2 day is execellent. The food of lunch & dinner need to improve. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke I loved the quiet solitude of this resort. The mon staff were fantastic, especially Suwat. He gave us a tour of his village and was very attentive. I highly recommend this resort if a few days of quiet away from the hussle and pollution of the cities is desired. |
The booking service was very efficient. |
| Vigdis 2007-02-03 until 2007-02-05 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke We had a nice time at the Jungle Rafts, but we had not foreseen that it would be so cold there in February. We had left our travelling clothes (which were the only clothes that was a little bit warm)in Kanchanaburi as we normally pack them in the bottom of the suitcase when we arrive in Thailand and don t touch them till we go home. But here I was cold from the sun set till long after it reappeared. But the experience was nice and quiet, though rustic. |
No problems with the reservation everything went smoothly. |
| Carly Pearse 2007-01-23 until 2007-01-24 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke We really enjoyed the entire trip, even though we actually ended up staying at the Resotel, as my parents had booked seperately, but they were very accomodating at changing us to that accomodation, which was great. The only downside was the food, when we arrived we had lunch, by that time is was about 2 in the afternoon and I figure the buffet lunch food had been sitting there since 12. Needless to say my partner and I both came down with horrible gastro / food poisioning and I started being sick on the bus on the way back to Bangkok and continued throwing up for about 24 hours after that, which kind of took the edge off our enjoyable holiday. Considering that during other parts of our trip we ate regularly from road style food stalls I was a bit disspointed to get sick from what I saw as an organised and classy establishment. In future they need to ensure that any buffet lunch foods are kept at a high tempreture to ensure others don t get sick. Apart from that aspect I would recommend this trip to anyone as it was loads of fun, and the guides were really great (mainly the local one) and told us a lot of interesting facts! |
Booking service was fine! |
| Mrs Tina Bell 2007-01-17 until 2007-01-18 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke What a great place to spend a night by lamp light with very attentive staff. Next time I would stay at least 2 nights. Plenty to do or just relax by the river. What an experience. After dark the long boats stopped running up and down the river so it was so peaceful. The villagers who operate the rafts were very friendly and the after dinner entertainment by the young people from the village were great. No electricity or hot showers but that was not a problem as we swam in the river and went to bed early listening to the water lapping the rafts. All organization was great including the bus drivers, tour guides, long boat drivers and rafts staff. Would do this tour again. Plenty of food at all meals including a hearty breakfast of pork and eggs and toast. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Wonderful and unique experience. Also quite emotional to be in such an historic spot. Take a torch with you as no electricity on the Rafts. Highly recommended. |
Have used Sawadee many times and will continue to do so. Efficient, reliable and very helpful. |
| Benjamin Howell 2006-10-19 until 2006-10-22 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke Whilst the junegle rafts are a very unique experience they are frequented by many tourists on tours, this sometimes takes away from the tranquility of the area (lots of noisy long-tail boats) and is perhaps the reason for the staff s indifference, lack of friendliness and foucs on $ rather than the customer. |
Once again very efficient. We changed the date of our bookings and it was hadnled very smoothly. Khop Khun Maak Khrup! |
| Robyn Brooks 2006-10-04 until 2006-10-06 |
River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke A nice break from busy Bangkok. We enjoyed the simple, relaxing atmosphere, lovely ambience at night with the lamps, food was good, prepared daily. My children loved jumping into the river, our guide could have been more attentive though whilst we were there, I think maybe he was overworked, as he said he never got holidays!! |
Service was good, considering language barrier |
| Boris Golbets 2006-08-05 until 2006-08-07 |
The River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke The River Kwai Jungle Raft Hotel is a very good and interesting place. The stuff is very friendly, the rooms are good with oil lamps. It is located on the river and its very nice. |
The booking service is fine but it lacks a good phones service in English. |

River Kwai Jungle Rafts, Saiyoke It was splendid. I was already a several times in a hotel like this, but every time i´m plesant suprisied. Even my Thai wife and her famaly had a good time. |
