Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Not great, not real bad. It was what I would describe as tacky. They wouldn t renew another night at the Sawadee price, so I found a better place on Soi 22 for less money. |
No complaints at all about the booking service at Sawadee. Only wish that it was instant confirmation, but no problem. We are spoiled by instant gratification. |
| Mrs Sheila Astley 2008-09-20 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Our room was spacious and clean, the en suite was a bit tired but quite adequate. The swimming pool was not one that you would want to swim in! The water was a very strange colour. The hotel was in easy distance from the main rd both walking and by the free tuk tuk service provided by the hotel. Breakfast was cheap and cheerful and good value for money. |
very easy and straightforward |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 the hotel is a classic example of a nice hotel gone very very bad.many times i stay there in past but no more.the malnourished looking staff staagger around like zombies.the green pond they call the pool should be avoided unless you have antibiotics on hand.when i check out,i call down to lobby to tell them TO GET BILL READY and they charge me for local call! caution STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! NOTHING WORKS EXCEPT THERE . |
exellent |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 it is most recommended that travellers organise their accomodation before arriving in bangkok. the good reviews for royal asia lodge helped me decide to book this hotel, & i was not disappointed. the location is great (though it is a bit of a walk down the soi the hotel tuk tuk or motorcycle taxis are often available), the staff professional & pleasant , the rooms quiet & clean, the mini bar well priced, & the room good value. my only criticism would be that there were not enough channels available on the tv-the australia network being one i would like to watch at times. still, there s plenty to do outside in sukhumvit! soi 8 is right on nana station, & being in close access to the excellent sky-rail (bts) is very important when staying in bangkok. i highly recommend this hotel & would stay there again when next in bangkok. |
professional & prompt. i had a little booking issue which was promptly sorted by the bi-lingual telephone staff. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Great hotel! Very quite, clean rooms. I stayed here for a week and had a very good time. Free Tuk Tuk rides to Sukhumvit were a blessing and the room was kept spotless by their trustworthy maids. My girlfriend and I were on the other side of Bangkok when she looked down at her hand and said Oh, my gold ring is by the sink. We both kissed the ring goodbye but when we returned to the room, there it sat right were she left it. |
I booked online at 1130pm the night before and had no problem checking in at noon the next day. The online rate was much lower and was honored without question. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 I travelled alone this time, and paid 1300Baht per room night w/o bfast. I was shock when I see the room as it was old built up. However it was very clean and tighty. The room did not have the old wet smell, this is the one I like the most. enjoy you stay if you do not expect to be ion hotel most time. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Good hotel, situated at the bottom end of soi 8 its about a 7-10 minute walk from the main road. Has a tuk tuk available that will transport you to the main road and back. Soi 8 is a quiet soi so if you are looking for a well place hotel that is quiet but is still in the main hub of Sukhumvit then this is it. Remember that this is an old hotel and it has not had an upgrade for many years so in many ways its a little old and outdated. This however is not really a problem is reflected in the hotel s low price. Recommended. |
Brilliant as always. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 ok staff and the hotel was ok too.. |
very fast and helpfull..Only good comments. |
| Mr. UK 2008-05-05 until 2008-05-08 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Nice hotel, room was clean and there is no traffic around the hotel. The Nana Skytrain Station is 500 m to go, but no problem: There is an own Hotel- Tuk Tuk, which drives you from the hotel to the Nana-Station . |
The booking with sawadee was perfect !! Very good, no problems !!! |
| Carsten Wiegand 2008-04-23 until 2008-04-24 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Hmmm, the location is a little awkward, a TukTuk will bring you to Sukhumvit but you might have to walk back.. The reception is friendly and helpful, my small room was in need of renovation, couldnt lock the window, broken Remote for the TV and a barely warm shower. The Place belongs to the likes of Prince, Florida, Manhatten or Grace Hotel etc., there you get the same 60s feeling, but for 800 Baht, even including a bad breakfast sometimes. |
smooth as usual, perfect. |
| Tomas Alm 2008-04-04 until 2008-04-08 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Ok hotel whith wery good staff,a little bit off on soi 8,but fully compensated by free tuk tuk to sukomwhit. |
Ok. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 For 1300 baht in Bangkok you get a decent room; when you take a shower, the floor in the bathroom remains a long time wet though. Location is a bit far in the soi but they ve got efficient free tuktuk shuttle service from the hotel to the main road and the other way round, 24 hours a day! Indian management speaking a perfect English. The only weird thing is that I ve been asked to give a copy of my credit car as a guarantee for the minibar. I refused to give my c/c so they asked me instead to make a deposit of 500 baht which they gave me back upon check out. Overall good value for money. |
www.kohsamui-info.com is the best site to quickly and safely any hotel in Thailand! Simply perfect and I will for sure use it again! |
| Lalith 2008-03-21 until 2008-03-23 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 My second visit to this hotel, and the service was efficient and friendly as before. No frills, but clean and pleasant, a good place to sleep, which is what I needed. Breakfast unfortunately not included, but there are several nice places down the Soi. It s a 5 - 10 minute walk to the Nana BTS if you don t want to wait for the free tuktuk shuttle. I will be back... |
Worked fine as always. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Excellent. Truly superb. We had a junior suite and enjoyed the extra space for a small extra cost. If there was a minor complaint – and I mean minor – perhaps a few more towels would be nice, you tend to shower often! The laundry service was brilliant, the room always cleaned impeccably, the reception staff always polite and helpful and the tuk-tuk driver almost became a personal friend. My Thai girlfriend would indicate “next trip round” as we ate at the bar at the end of Soi 8, and next time round he’d wait for us to finish our meal. By comparison, we spent 4 days in Pattaya at a supposedly comparable quality hotel. Our room there was cleaned only twice and laundry done once during our stay. We arrived back at Royal Asia Lodge at about 2pm and within minutes the maid appeared and requested our laundry. At 7pm it was returned – washed, ironed and beautifully folded – quality service. The only reason for not staying at RAL on my next trip would be because they hadn’t got a suite available, I certainly wouldn’t try anywhere else first. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 What do you expect for 1300 bath per night in Bangkok. Filty room and bathroom was what we got. We will find another hotel for our next visit. Location and personell was OK. |
Excellent as always. |

very good. |
| Forrest Mitchell Nelson 2008-01-26 until 2008-01-27 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 The hotel was a bit old, the staff was ok. The main problem with this place is that children are working there. I was apalled with that. Isnt that against the law? |
The booking service was very easy to use. It even suggested staying at the Royal Asia Lounge because the hotel I requested was full. However, this hotel has children cleaning rooms and serving breakfast and I don t think this service should support them. |
| Ronald Schmidt 2008-01-04 until 2008-01-10 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 I stayed in this hotel many times, but the hotel went older and dirtier every time. I found a newer and much cleaner place already. |
|
| Henrik Halvorsen 2007-12-26 until 2008-01-03 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 The room was really nice and the staff was helpful and friendly. Please note that a fitness room is no longer available although it is still mentioned at the hotel website. The hotel pick-up service at the Sukhumwit road was fine, however a few times I waited 15 minutes. I really have no complaints over the hotel but will consider a hotel nearer to the main road and without a fitness room as it is not available anyway... I can recommend the Royal Asia Lodge if you are looking for a hotel at the quite end of the soi 8. |
Excellent as always! |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 This is for the defence of this small hotel that I ve recently stayed a few days ago this week. Yes, this hotel probably owned by an Indian family. During my stay it looked like it was an Indian man that was working the reception front desk. I ve also notice there was also an older Indian gentlement working in the office as well as an older Indian woman. I have no problems with anybody working there. What does anybody expect from a small budget hotel that may be independently family owned and managed? Does it always have to be some young pretty Thai girls that smiles at every silly things that she mai ko jai while working at the front desk? I had more bad experiences with Thai receptions with their inappropriate English as a receptionist partly because the Thai language uses the key question word at the end of their sentences to indicate to them that it is a question. This means words like mai and a-rai at the end of the sentences to indicate it is a question and not a comment. The problems of confusion with languages in a multi-national place like Bangkok is very common, I ve learn to be more patient and always double check to make sure what I say is understood. When a thai person gives no reply after your question, probably means that person doesn t understand that you are asking a question and not just making a commend. Anyway, this hotel in my opinion is you get what you paid for. I like the quietness away from Sukhumvit Rd but no too far so I can still use the BTS Skytrain. |
As good as always. |
| Cheenang 2007-11-27 until 2007-12-01 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Very convenient location. Good staff. Nice to have the so-called tuk-tuk (more like a golf cart). Only issue is the rather dated rooms. For the price, the rooms could have been in a better condition. Still, a good place to stay. |
Very prompt. Good job. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 This hotel is acceptable if you’re a tight budget, make no mistake its not a hidden jewel. My biggest pev about this hotel was noise to begin with I just came back from my holiday 08/12/2007 there was two hotels being built near the hotel… and there is a third being renovated. I emailed ahead to the hotel asking if it was quiet I was reassured (lies) it was peaceful hotel. The aircon in the room sounds is silent, but outside your window every room has an individual unit which rattles/hums/shakes when you put the aircon on. If you have window open or closed you can hear the rooms above/below aircon units. The in room fridge is noisy and worst still smelled strongly of onions. The hotel staff literally shout to each other outside your door at 8.00am every morning no consideration that quests actually might want to relax….. I moved rooms in the end hoping that higher meant quieter haha no the higher you go the more hotels facilities there are near the pool & Jacuzzi are pumps or something that make random noises during the night. Aside from the noise the towels stank (I think they just dried them and switched rooms). My hot water went off three times, each time I had to wait 15 mins for someone to fix it. My tv only picked some of stations it was meant to, I was told to tune it in myself??? No breakfast is included either, oh and I think my minibar bill was rather high (900baht) given I only drank water from the fridge. Good points the cleaner’s wont touch or move your stuff aside from that… nothing comes to mind I would say the shuttle service was good but it was never there when I wanted a ride! |
Perfect booking. 2nd time used would use again. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Good location for people who,d like to experience the nightlife of the area while staying in a more quiet area and for a low tariff. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Not good !! I change 3 room because air con and/or tv dosen t work. Room large but not clean. Bath room not confortable. Room service is non attention to room supply ( eg toilet paper, shampoo or other amenitis). I NO came back. Expensive and no brekfast.
Faster and professional. I book just 2 day before. I used many time for my booking.
Veloce ed efficente. Ho prenotato solo due giorni prima del mio arrivo. L ho già usato altre volte e lo consiglio |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Great location and friendly English speaking staff. Very comfortable room with a safe was well worth the price. No breakfast but lots of neighborhood restaurants. Close to overhead rail station, with easy access to night life and shopping malls. Will book again next time. |
As smooth as always. Never had a problem with this service. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 RA was our third choice in the Sukhamvhit corridor, first two booked out. Friendly staff, rooms a bit dated but clean. Mattress was lumpy. Free golf cart ride to NANA skytrain station at end of soi. OK affordable property for a night or two. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 It was my second time in royal asia lodge hotel ! the hotel is not far from the airport (about 30 min by taxi ,you pay 400 thb) and close to the metro station (5min by walk) very friendly staff, the hotel is safe and the room are clean and smell good ! the hotel is located in sukhumvit road quarter, a business quarter where are located the best hotel in bangkok (sheraton,...) but it is also a quarter with a lot of animation (night club, pub, shopping, parc) !!! I think it s a great place for the price |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 My stay in Royal Asia Lodge was wonderful. The front-desk boys were very helpful and the tuk-tuk to the main road was both comfortable and fun. The rooms were pretty basic but very clean. I shall again stay in this hotel whenever I visit Bangkok. P.Ananthakrishnan |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Good value for money, hotel could use an update, but was clean and everything worked fine. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Since the hotel is about a 5 min walk from BTS, the complimentary tuk-tuk golf cart certainly helped. |
Another good job from this booking service. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 nothing much, but we were not much in the room. The doors are not to tight, especially as we had a door-to-door room, which we did not find delux . next time was better thoug. Friendly staff and good price. |
great, smoothly, no comlaints |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 We stayed in Bangkok for 6 days at the start of April 2007. It was our first experience of the Far East, so we booked this place through Asiahotels.ru and I guess that the Royal Asia Lodge was typical of non luxury accomodation. Whilst the rooms were shabby and the air conditioning noisy, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff made up for this Overall the hotel was very good value for money. I think I would recommend his hotel to budget tourists. |
Very fast booking process with Asiahotels.ru - i liked it! |
| Johan Sjostrand 2007-03-25 until 2007-03-28 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 If you re looking for value for money hotel then I recommend this hotel! The room was old but clean and nice. Little dark with only one small window. Big fridge. The room was not maid until 5 pm every day The hotel is located deep into Soi 8, they have free tuk-tuk service down to Sukhumvit Road ( 5 minutes walk). Skytrainstop NANA is just around the corner, great location! Rooftop facilities out of service, but possible to use the pool at the next building, Royal Asia Paradise. The facilities has been out of service for long time according to this travel-report forum!!! Very freindly and helpful staff. |
We booked this hotel online through Sawadee.com and had no problems whatsoever. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 VALUE FOR $$, GOOD LOCATION WITH FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO/FROM NANA BTS SKY TRAIN. ACCESSIBLE AMENITIES AROUND THE HOTEL. ROOM IS CLEAN, SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE BED WITH VENTILATION FAN. GOOD ENGLISH SPEAKING FRIENDLY FRONTDESK. STRONGLY RECOMMEND FOR BUDGET TRAVELLERS. DEFINITELY MY IDEAL CHOICE FOR NEXT VISIT.. |
I AM HAPPY AND PLEASED WITH SAWADEE S PROMPT & FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE RENDERED TO ME DURING MY STAY IN BANGKOK. WELL DONE & KEEP IT UP! |
| Hakan Ottosson 2007-02-10 until 2007-02-12 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Hotel location deep into the soi. Annoying extra charges for things like breakfast, internet, etc. Rooms very dark and look a bit run down. Acceptable. |
Good booking service |
| William E Ingram 2007-01-24 until 2007-01-26 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Rooms clean and Tidy with Big fridge no complaints there. However they charged 30 Baht/day for stored luggage even though we were booked in later that month which we feel is unfair as the reason for rebooking was some where to keep the suitcases. |
GOOD |
| KM Sim 2006-12-31 until 2007-01-02 |
Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Positive: - Royal Asia Lodge is at the quiet end of Soi 8, not much traffic. - Quite frequent Complimentary Tuk-Tuk service to Sukhumvit Rd (50 meters away to Nana BTS). They even have a Tuk-tuk call box outside a pub at beginning of Soi 8. Look out for red sign board on the right hand side after turning into Soi 8. - Convenient to go anywhere by BTS Skytrain. Just outside of Soi 8 is Nana BTS. From BTS station to hotel is about 500 meters, by walking is about 10 minutes. - Prompt Taxi call service at hotel, even at 5am. Taxi arrived at hotel within 5 minutes to pick us up. Taxi to Survanabhumi Airport cost 400THB inclusive of toll way charge. Very reasonable price. - Friendly Front Desk staff. - A few restaurants and a 24-hrs convenient store along Soi 8. - Hot shower is warm enough, and enough water pressure. - Relatively cheap hotel in the Sukhumvit area, but what you paid is what you will get. Negative: - Rated as 3 stars hotel, however the room facilities are really old. Certainly needs renovation. Should rate as 2-stars. Bed with quecking sound, uncarpeted bedroom floor, water cannot drain off wash basin, in-room safe box available but have to pay extra. - Roof top facilities out of service, but can use the pool at the next building, Royal Asia Paradise. - Under-staffed. Only 1 staff at Front Desk, so check-in process takes long time. - Will not back to this hotel, not because it is really bad, but rather try for other hotels around Sukhumvit area. Plenty of USD25-30 hotels around Sukhumvit or Silom area. |
Very convenient and fast reservation process. However they usually take 1 day to reply enquiries. |

Royal Asia Lodge, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 08 Good location on fairly quiet street and very close and convenient to shopping and Skytrain. Lobby is nice, rooms are spacious with some drab or rundown features. It s trying to be more elegant than what it can pull off based on the condition of its furnishing but overall it s a good inexpensive place to stay. The restaurant, however, is HORRIBLE - overpriced, boring, poorly prepared and possibly the only BAD food I had in Thailand. |
