Very unpleasant experience. Roaches in great number. Dirty and smelly a/c. Sheets and towels are of questionable appearance. NOTHING good about the room. Advertised as at close proximity to train station, however, it is a 30 minutes walk, so taxi is need anyways. Indian restaurant at the hotel serves good food.

People are friendly, breakfast small, room functionally, that is all. Stay one night or two and look at TAT another House to book. Max from Germany

Basically, you get very friendly and helpful staff there. It is a budget hotel and you get the bare minimum expected. Some areas need improvement though. Of the two deluxe rooms that we booked, one of them had two small cockroaches and a leaking tap. Otherwise, everything in the room is ok. The walls of the rooms are not very sound proof as the ringing of the telephone in one room could be heard distinctly in another in the early morning. The breakfast service also needs improvement. If you are on early tours such as to set off around 7am, don t expect breakfast to be ready. They only serve breakfast around eight. But when we specifically requested, they prepared toasted bread with jam and butter and a cup of tea/coffee for us each. However, the cook seems very slow in preparing. Even when we told him well in advance that we needed it at 6.40am, it still drag on till almost 6.55am before we could get only our toasted bread. Luckily, we reach our airport in time. This aspect certainly needs more improvement. I also emailed about four days before I left for Bangkok to check if they provide hairdryer and pick-up service but todate I received no reply from their manager! When I need to pay the balance of hotel charges, I paid in cash as they will charge extra 7% if pay by credit card, even though the sawadee.com said all VAT are already included in the room rates! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a budget hotel. Not too bad except for these minor hiccups. But they can certainly improve on the points mentioned.

ok but hotel wants to charge extra 7% if payment is made by credit card. This is in contrast to your assurance that all VAT are already included in the room rates regardless of payment mode. Luckily, I have enough cash with me.

Stayed here at the second time. Good hotel for that price - if you are on a short Bangkok visit. Only the hot staircase is exhausting due to no air there. Nice and helpful people! We would stay there next time again.

we got a standard room in the section of the hotel without an elevator. the room was a good size. our bed was covered in body hair, we asked them for more towels so we could sleep on top of the towels, but the cleaning lady would not give us extra. the bed was not comfortable at all, very lumpy and the springs hurt. breakfast was ok, nothing special.

ok

I had a nice stay there. It s pretty much what you would expect for a low cost hotel in Bangkok. Don t expect anything fancy, but the service is fine and there is a clean bed to sleep in.

Very easy to find, just next to the post office and only five minutes of walking to the Si Phraya Pier. Nice and easy rooms, clean bathroom and a nice restaurant, all this for a very reasonable price. The reception staff could need a little improvement in terms of friendliness.

Booking with sawadee.com was very easy but requested amount of rooms was not reserved correctly by the hotel, rooms were available anyway.

Ideal for budget travellers, all the basic amneties are provided for. To & from airport is not a hassle as located very close to the tollway.

Very good

After seeing so much negative feedback on the cleaniless of this hotel, I was surprised to see that the the room is clean and tidy, and NO coachroach/insects. Equiped with basic facilities sufficient for short stay. The air-cond is a bit noisy but it is still endurable. The service is acceptable. Water is provided upon request. 15 minutes walking to Hualamphong MRT station or by taxi at 35 bahts.

Very efficient and satisfactory.

Very helpful and smiling staff! Of course not a five star hotel (also met some small insects), but still well worth the price. I would recommend it to any budget travellers.

Excellent. Quick and easy. I will definitely use it next time.

Never again! We had two rooms. One we could not use because they sprayed an insecticidspray a few hours ago and it smelled like hell. And the other one was full of cockroaches. Even in the bed. The staff was friedly and the food good Bleiben Sie hier ja nicht.

Verry good

A place way off the beatin track. No elevator and rooms are pretty shabby. At least there is a western toliet, but the toliet and shower are not separated. The BTS is a long haul (about 1 km), but there is a pier sort of nearby (10 minute walk). I would spend another 200 baht just for a little extra comfort.

Accomodation was pretty decent. But I have expected more by having a look at photos on web site. For Indians especially Vegetarian this is the best place to stay. South Indian / North Indian food both available. Overall stay was pretty comfortable. Next time if I travel to Bangkok I will choose Woodlands.

Was o.k. so far. They gave us an economic room in the 7th floor without elevator, so it was hard work. No Entrance door in the building for the economic rooms. The rooms were clean and o.k. Stuff does not speak good english nor understand!

Excellent!

We enjoyed our stay at the Woodlands and would go there again. The breakfast is okay but their Indian food at lunch and dinner is excellent. Rooms were clean and internet is available. Great value & location - close to river and walking distance to night market, but away from the noise.

Booking was easy and we had no trouble using our e-vouchers at all our destinations.

Mixed feelings. The restaurant is good, really excellent Indian food but the staff a bit surly. My room was quite spacious but a bit dark and the air conditioning noisy. They checked the room every day, made the bed etc. but generally the hotel was quite shabby and dirty, as evidenced by the cockroaches in my room. There seemed to be no hot water in the early afternoon. The location is not great for the main tourist attractions in Bangkok, although you are close to the pier for the river taxi. For 500 baht a night with air conditioning there must be better hotels. Overall 5 out of 10.

Excellent booking service on the internet, though they seemed to have no record of my reservation when I arrived....

STAY AWAY! I followed the advice of many others on this web site and we arrived this hotel at the evening. We saw about 5 room - all of them full with roaches (even a VIP room that we were offered). At the end we found one room without roaches and since we already paid we went up to sleep. Bad decision... first - there was essentially no matress in sleeping condition on the bed, second - the curtains let in all the light from 5am in the morning, thirdly breakfast was lousey. We checked out immidiatly after breakfast. We found the place disgusting, I hope that things will improve for it but I definitly do not recommend it to anyone.

Booking was OK albit a bit slow, I usually do not book in places where I can not book on-line, we almost booked in another place by the time that the booking service got back to us (about 10 hours)

Literally a roach motel. Owned by nice enough Indians if the room doesnt bother you. 2 roaches I can deal with, a swarm I cannot. Grabbed my stuff and headed to the INNTOWN , a few blocks north on Charoen Krung St, blue and white sign. Much nicer and cleaner, nice staff. 8 bucks extra, very worth it.

Smooth.

A very good basic hotel. No frills here, as the price reflects, but clean, safe and comfortable. AC worked great too! I didn t go to Bangkok to spend my money on a hotel, so this place was perfect for me. I will stay here every time I m in Bangkok.

Very smooth, without problems.

On Charoen Krung Road near the Post-Office. Very good value & quiet. Includes air-con & hot water. Not too far from Silom/Patpong or Siam Square. Take a tuk-tuk or 77 bus.

Clean, simple, agreeable. Not a very interesting neighborhood, but tourist stuff is only a short cab ride away. My room lacked toilet paper, which may be disturbing to farang.

The hotel was very quiet and situated in somewhat of a convinient place. Close to silom road and 15mins walk to the skytrain. Did see a few roaches, and the bed was a bit hard. Did include a breakfast with the price. Nothing to wake up early to though. When it came to check out time i wanted to pay by credit card, on thew site it said the VAT of 7% was included, but if you paid by credit card they would charge the 7% On top of the actual price again. Which is not stated on the response letter or the website. Service was OK, and the restaurant was OK.

Very quick and helpful, i reccomended the website to other travellers

The hotel was nice and clean and centraly located, near the skytrain thus making transportation an ease. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet soi just off New Road, so noise was not a problem. The value/price was great. I would stay there again.

I was amazed as how fast the response to my request for booking was and the confirmation was complete within 24 hours. I would use and book again on my next trip to Thailand
