Ann G. 2008-10-28	Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside Hotel, Riverside, Charoenkrung Road The hotel is very conveniently located with excellent transport systems to take guests anywhere in Bangkok (and beyond) quickly and comfortably. My husband and I stayed at this hotel 11 years ago, and found it the perfect place to stay for our time in Bangkok then, and that is true today too. The hotel has been improved since then, but the work in progress did not disturb us. The staff are friendly and helpful. Every request was met with promptly and cheerfully. I will stay there again anytime I am in Bangkok.	I was reccommended to use sawadee.com by a friend who has family living in Thailand. I was told it was reliable, and the services it recommended were checked and approved. We had no problems at all with our visit, hotel, and transport from the airport.

Service needs to be improved in some areas along with attention to detail if they really want to live up to their 5 star rating.	realtively easy and efficient.

Breakfast was tastefull, but the coffee was cold. 5 stars to the hotel ?? No never. And we will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not enough sunbeds at the pool. Room not clean enough. Ordered wine for dinner - had to wait 30 min. - the food became cold. Water running out on the floor in the bathroom when showering. Staff at breakfast seemed crossed and not interested in the guests. So next time it will be another hotel at the riverside. Thank god we had fantastic experiences in Krabi and Hua Hin. Will NOT be back !!

Everybode was very helpful and nice. Entertainment every night, that was nice. The food in the restaurants were very good and delicate. I recomend this hotel!!	Easy.

Surroundings (outside hotel area) were maybe not the nicest (all thai, no restaurants) so the frequently running free shuttle boat to Taksin brige pier was great.	Excellent!

The food is very good This place is off the beaten path but is easy to get from the hotel to areas of interest by using the Hotel boat.I have stayed at other hotels on the river and this is the best bargain.	This is the second year I have used Sawadee. I tell everyone I know to use thier website.

River shuttle is nice so you can get to other things. Hotel people really can t communicate. The personnel are all very pleasant and try to help. Internet is a big problem. Only access is 260THB for 3 hours which is O.k. but you have to use it all at once. No real bar area with anything going on...if you don t go anywhere you are really stuck with nothing to do.	Sawadee was very easy to use.

They allowed us to keep our room until 8pm the evening of our departure from Bangkok due to our late flight--with no extra charge. Convenient free ferry service to Taksin Bridge (skytrain connection). I would definitely stay there again.	Very easy and efficient booking.

Good breakfast buffet. Tip: If you go to international airport with a taximeter-taxi, don t pay 500,-- Baht like the taxi driver wants. Let the taxidrvers use the taximeter, than you pay less than 230,-- Baht + 55,-- Baht for Highway-toll. Tell him: No taximeter, no money - ist works. I have put on the taximeter by myself by switch on the start-bottom...	everything o.k. or perfekt

Room very clean and tidy with outlook over river and good facilities. Staff helpful and cheerful. Unfortunately, I lost my camera around the lounge-bar, and although I have emailed the hotel, I have had no reply yet.	Booking service very good. Would have liked to be able to pre-book a taxi from airport to hotel, but this proved very easy to organize on arrival.

The breakfast is of poor quality and the location is remote. given the price tag I would highly recommend to stay at the Sheraton or the Dusit Thani hotel...	as usual: easy to use

A real oasis in the middle of air pollution and too many people in a city which really never sleeps. The Servive was perfect, the kindness of staff amazing. Restaurants, the pool. the hotel boat shuttle - everything was pertect	Absolutley pertfect - Never had a webpage which worked so uncomplicated. Try it!
Robert Fessler 2006-01-16 until 2006-01-17	Menam Riverside Hotel Bangkok, Riverside, Charoenkrung Road We stayed at the Viengtai for most of our stay in Bangkok but the last night we stayed at the Menam Riverside. They both had their advantages. The Viengtai was much better if you want to sightsee by walking around the neighborhood as it was one block over from Khao San road and was more in the small shop area. The hotel lost A/C one day and wasn t the cleanest place we ve stayed. The pool also was lousy. The breakfast was real good. The Menam had great, clean, beautiful rooms. They had a better breakfast and the pool looked wonderful. Shuttle service is provided free to the Skytrain/boat stations which worked out well. I think I would stay here next time because I ve experience Khao San already and the hotel really is nice.	Sawadee s booking service worked great. We had a little twin vs double bed mixup but they couldn t fix this as the hotel was already booked. Pay attention to double bed vs two twin beds. This is an area of confusion which Sawadee and the traveler must be aware of.

The good service starts with the reception by a well trained (polite and friendly) Bell Boy who guides you to the check-in area (either main lobby) or the Executive Floor. How he knows the right way without asking you is a well kept secret. The Check-in Area is somewhat slow and unprofessionals - it seems to me that the hotel put their newly hired trainees here without proper instruction and training. (anyway minor point). Rooms was very good with River view and maintained well. The Restaurant (riverside) served an excellent asian buffet-style dinner incl. live entertainement (price level may be considered on the higher side) with value for the money. Effective river shuttle with connections to the normal river boatbusses. good breakfast buffet. Location allthough on the river bench is may be considered a little far away from the downtown area but it is compensated with the 15 min river boat trip to the center pier. Overall rating is a excellent choice for staying.	As ususal no complaints, easy, fast and effective.

The only aspect of the visit that could have been better was the bathroom. It seemed to have a constant odor of a sewer system. If we covered the drain on the floor in the bathroom the smell wasn t too bad but we felt like that should not have been an issue in such a nice hotel.	Everything went very well and I was happy with the pick up service at the airport. We had no trouble finding the driver and everthing was perfect.

Smokers will not find places in the lobby, the bar, or resturant to smoke. They have to sit and eat outside next to the pool. Good prices for room service and minibar.	Reservation went as planned and as prepaid except a free ride to or from the airport promised for executive rooms but not povided. I had to pay for both.

We did find however, it is a hotel more appropriate for the business class, not the vacationers. It is also more suitable for Asian Travelers, opposed to English speaking ones.

River shuttle bus seemed a bit unrealiable but if you do the research you can see its not far to the normal pier stops for river buses.	Booking service and airport pick up worked a treat
