About the hotel:
Do NOT go here if you want a clean, bright, nicely designed room and friendly staff, because what you get at Ko Tao Resort is exactly the opposite!! Room: Not what you find on their website, broken furniture, torn wallpaper, bad smell from the bathroom, dark and poor lighting, lots of mosquitoes and geckos because the windows and door do not close properly; sheets and pillows were badly stained, had to be changed which took almost 2 hours!!!! Service: Worst we have experienced in Thailand so far. Unfriendly, they talk about you in Thai when you re around and make fun of you, really annoyed when you ask for help or complain about sth like the dirty sheets, we were lied to ( The manager is in Bangkok , 2 minutes later he was there to talk to us). Whatever you do, do NOT go to Ko Tao Resort. We already had the 3rd highest category (Paradise Seaview) and it was one of the worst rooms in Thailand we had so far.

all people who work are not thai but Birman and they don\ t have the same kindless of thai people. The resort was clean and in line with expectation but who work there should learn many things from thai people!!!

We just came back one week ago and we really appreciate our stay in Koh Tao, but some few things are to be noticed about the hotel; the main one is the breakfast,it is not bad but the choice is quite limited and the food is always the same, so for such an hotel it should be a bit more important and various, the second remark concerns the place , it is a bit far from everything and the rental of a motorbike can be dangerous (you can see all the people hurt on the island!) and the beach down the hotel is nice but not very good for swim so I think that more free shuttles included in the price of the room should be nice. Other way the staff were nice and the view is beautifull.

We had to pay the total account before arriving, so I think that in case of bad surprise it should be difficult to change the hotel, next time I will manage directly with the hotel

Bon rapport qualité-prix mais la plage devant cet hôtel n est pas très agréable. Endroit très venteux quand nous y étions début août. Point fort de l hôtel : un bateau speed-boat qui vous emmène faire du snorkelling à la journée pour 1200 baths par personne. Super car on arrive sur les sites avant les big boat qui déchargent les touristes par vingtaine... Equipage très sympa. Navette gratuite qui vient vous chercher à l arrivée au bateau.

About the hotel:
Overall the resort was okay. It was pretty enough, but the rooms were a tight fit and the walls were quite thin. If you don t mind hearing your neighbors flush the toilet at 3 am or argue about who has to carry the sun block in their luggage at 6 am, then this is the place for you. I would not recommend anyone to stay here or to visit Koh Toa for that matter. The island is cramped, too crowded, and the hospitality leaves something to be desired (not to mention a band aid costs 200 baht!). As I am not a diver, I cannot say anything about the diving here (i hear it is really good). So, if you are a non-diver, you can visit many of the more easily accessible islands in Thailand for a more pleasant holiday.

Koh Tao Resort... Established more than 20 years ago, Koh Tao Resort is one of the original resorts on the island.

In that time we have developed beautiful landscaped gardens around our accommodation, set in a spacious, private area next to Chalok Baan Kao village, at the South of Koh Tao.

Along with the cleanliness, our beautifully laid out resort makes us the ideal choice for both couples and families wishing for an idyllic time away from home. Customer service is paramount to us. We provide the services that our customers want, from massage to scuba diving.

All of our rooms are set in our landscaped gardens, either directly behind the beach or a short walk away.

Standard: Our Standard rooms are lcoated in the building with sea view. Close to all of our amenities and the beach. An adjoining door between rooms allows bigger groups or families to holiday together whilst maintaining privacy. There are six of these terraced, brick built rooms. Each with air-conditioning.

Bungalow:
A spacious room with a double bed and an outside balcony, set in our landscape gardens. A pleasant stroll from our swimming pool and the beautiful white sands of Koh Taos southern beach. We have seven of these air-conditioned bungalows. Detached for your privacy and enjoyment.

Superior:
Set in our lovely landscape gardens, close to the swimming pool and the beach. There are eight of these air-conditioned, terraced rooms. These units incorporate your own private patio.

Deluxe:
A classy, glass fronted room with air-conditioning. Moments for the beach. Each with a spacious, shaded private veranda. Deluxe can sleep 2-4 people making them ideal for the holidaying family. There are twelve of these large rooms. Each with a large double bed and a single bed.

Beach Front: With two glass walls and beautiful views all round. These rooms are situated on the back of the beach with spacious shaded balconies. With two double beds a family can be easily accommodated in these beautifully furnished apartments, DVD player, hair dryer and kettle with tea and coffee. There are only two of these, set in their own gardens close to both pool and beach.

Luxury: A large, wood paneled apartment furnished with two double beds. This unit also has a gazebo style lounge room and a private, shaded Jacuzzi, DVD player, hair dryer and kettle with tea and coffee. Situated over the bar area. Offering the height of style and luxury to couples or families holidaying in paradise. These two are the last word in comfort. Set at the centre of the resort, affording a beautiful, uninterrupted sea view.

Poolside: Right next to the swimming pool and the beautiful, white sand beach. This type offers two large bedrooms (each with two double beds), a shaded balcony and a beautifully furnished living area, DVD player, hair dryer and kettle with tea and coffee. Ideal for two couples or for a larger family.

Baan Kao Restaurant: Our friendly staff are waiting to serve you Thai or Western food. Our food is delicious, we buy our food supplies in fresh daily. Large parties or special dietary needs may be arranged upon request.

Moonstone Bar: Our well stocked bar will serve you both local and imported bottled and draught beers, imported wines and the normal selection of spirits in the open air. A panoramic view of the surrounding area while relaxing with your favorite tipple.

Beach Bar: We provide kayaks, petanque, and a sheltered fitness area for your enjoyment. Daytime drinks may also be purchased here.

Newly established to the highest specifications, The 'Paradise Zone' complex is beautifully placed amongst the palm garden on the hill behind our old resort. We offer a stylish range of accommodation, fantastic food, and a great panoramic seaview with sunsets to match. We have a wide variety of rooms, ranging from the Superior to the Luxury Paradise. All of our rooms are fitted with hot and cold running water, cable TV, refrigerators and air conditioning as standard. Completed in 2008 our 'Paradise Zone' is designed to compliment the beautiful scenery surrounding it. Our rooms are built into the hillside overlooking the sea.

Superior - Paradise Zone: There are nine of these lovely rooms available. Spacious and airy. Luxuries a moment from the infinity pool. Deluxe - Paradise Zone:
We have two of these roomy apartments, featuring a jacuzzi with a view. These rooms have a large double and a single bed, air-conditioning, cable TV, refrigerator, DVD player. The balcony has one of the best views over the entire Chalok Baan Kao Bay from Room 506 or the Rocky Bay to Shark Island and the marine park from Room 516. Paradise Sea View - Paradise Zone:
Pure luxury and comfort with a breathtaking panoramic view of the bay. There are five of these large rooms built secluded underneath our Infinity Pool, each equipped with a double and a single bed. Air-conditioning, cable TV, baht tube on open air balcony and refrigerator come as standard. Enjoy your paradise sea view from the comfort of your very own fantastic balcony bathtub.

Honeymoon Paradise - Paradise Zone:
A beautiful sunny apartment built for two. Classic Thai style and western comfort combined. The spacious balcony commands an epic 180 degree panoramic view of the bay below. Original Thai Silk prints and ornate hard wood furnishings all add to the romance of your stay. Only one of these apartments is available, fully furnished with air-conditioning, cable TV, refrigerator, DVD player and Jacuzzi.

Deluxe Paradise - Paradise Zone:
We have two of these roomy apartments, featuring a acuzzi with a view and a lot more besides. Swimming Pool: One of the first places to visit is our infinity swimming pool. Relax in clear blue water and enjoy the best sunset views on the island. The pool is a short walk from all rooms and is for customers only.

Baan Mai Restaurant: Our kitchens are well prepared for international guests. A delicious range of authentic Thai cuisine is available as well as most classic Western dishes. Our helpful staff are happy to serve any special dietary needs, and we love to host large parties.

Moonstar Bar: You will get a warm welcome at the Moonstar Bar. If a Chang or Singha beer is not to your taste we stock a wide variety of imported bottled and draught lagers. A wide range of imported wines are also available, and we definitely suggest you try a cocktail.

Front Beach: A short walk down the hill and you will find our beach bar. Sit by the sea and enjoy a drink while soaking up the rays, or keep cool in the shade and watch the world go gently by, Koh Tao style. A pick up transfer between the beach resort and The Paradise Zone is also available upon your request during 7am - 10pm.
