About the hotel:
Disgusting. On their website are totally different photos from the pool, as if he were close to the sea. No one says that the planes fly right over your house. a terrible noise. Book this hotel in August for 2 days and no longer able to stay there. First, the room was not near the sea. We had to go through the busy road which caused inconvenience. The apartment itself is very old, the walls of the cracks, absolutely not that. that is in the photo in internete.v Number crawl lizards. Staff very unfriendly. Stay away from this hotel if you drive on the same beach with another kilometer you will find great small hotels, where you will find rooms with breakfast right on the beach at the same price .. And no planes over your head. This hotel is only for students.

Was a lovely stay! lovely people very friendly and helpful. Beautiful next to the beach. Would truly recommend to be people on a budget. You don t feel like it is budget accomodation. Its just like a resort! Had a happy stay, good food, good people!

Good value for money hotel. Well maintained, friendly staff. Away from the hubub of Chaewang Beach but close enough to go to either Chaewang or Bophut fisherman s village by bike in 10 minutes. Their good rooms (Super Deluxe) are excellent and beautifully located. If you book the super deluxe room, make sure that s what you get because there s some grey area between the superdeluxe, deluxe and Sea Facing rooms. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely go back again. Free airport transfers were given as promised. Yasmeen & Neville Daruvala.

I stayed at Samui Mermaid for 3weeks with my boyfriend, two brothers, one girlfriend and my mother. We had a fantastic time. Everything was perfect, we each had a cosy little one bedroom ensuite house to ourselves all next door to eachother. The staff were amazing, couldn t do enough for us. The food was cheap The TV was great, films every night. The food in was good also, and very cheap. Also a great sports bar next door with lovely toasties for about a euro! Also if you are looking for good english food the picnic basket a few door up do a fab sunday roast.. You can get a full body thai massage 1hr anywhere for 4 euro. Only 15mins to the main town Chaweng if you are looking for a mad one :) I had a fantastic holiday and will recommend it to all my friends. Also, Jame - the bar man deserves a mention, he was so kind to us and on his day off came with us to show us where we could hug lion cubs and even got a picture with a Tiger!! Thanks to all at Samui Mermaid X

Very nice hotel. good services. quiet location. a bit far away from chaweng beach where all the parties happen but it did not really bother us. I would recommend this hotel for couples and those who wanna spend a quiet vacation in Samui

We stayed one night in the cheapest rooms of the resort. Bungalows were very basic but ok. Swimming pool was nice. Very close to the airport and the pier (to Koh Tao), which was perfect for us. Airplanes are noisy, so be prepared to wake up very early.

This resort s service was the only horrible experience during our 2 week vacation in Thailand. They asked for the details of our arrival - but no one showed at the airport so we had to take a cab and pay app. 400bht as extra (of course they excused themselves saying that they were around but it is a very small airport so if they had really wanted, would have found us...) The place where the resort is located has no normal seashore (actually, only a quite dirty port) and was far from the real and enjoyable KohSamui (like Chaweng or Lamai). We originally wanted to book only for one night but the minimum booking period was 2 nights. We tried to make a deal with the hotel management to check out 1 day earlier and get back some of the money we already payed since the resort was not what we were expecting (no airport tranfer, dirty beach, no nightlife around...) but they were not flexible at all. Finally we moved to Chaweng to a beautiful resort and let our money for the guest-friendly hotel management...

Bang Rak is on the north eastern coast of Koh Samui and the Samui Mermaid Resort is just five minutes from Samui International Airport.  It's a 15 minutes drive away from the nightlife of Chaweng, or in the other direction, 15 minutes from quaint fishermen's village of Bophut.

Fortunately, due  to local regulations, beachside properties can be constructed no higher than the coconut tree canopy, so Bang Rak has retained its " tropical Island" feel.

The beach is very quite clean, with soft golden sand.  Nearby piers have frequent ferries and speed boats to Koh Pha Ngan  and Koh Tao for diving, sightseeing or the monthly Full Moon Party.

There are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the resort offering all kinds of dishes, from Thai to Turkish, and, French to Finnish ! There are also countless local bars if you need to stop to take a rest during  a leisurely stroll along the beach.
